The 14 Best Vegan Restaurants in Paris, France | Eater

"Pastry chef Amanda Bankert, a native of Washington, D.C., worked as a pastry chef in Dublin for 10 years before moving to Paris and picking up a small home fryer at a yard sale. This was the beginning of her ascension as the doughnut queen of Paris, a reign she earned by using the highest-quality ingredients to make several batches of fresh doughnuts each day. Then in 2019, she revised all of her recipes to make them vegan. “I didn’t announce I was going vegan (for reasons of health and the environment), so my customers were pretty excited when they discovered that vegan could be delicious,” she says. The menu changes regularly, but the speculoos flavor and the Mae West (filled with rhubarb compote and topped with meringue) are some recent hits. Located in the 2nd arrondissement." - Alexander Lobrano

Wow!!!! These are truly the BEST donuts I have ever tasted in my life. They are massive in size and I believe most if not all of them are baked. The owner is super sweet and friendly. There are a lot of different flavors and they offer a variety of coffees. The location is very close to the Metro line 4 off the Saint Denis exit.

I’m used to American cities that has TONS of vegan donut shops. Boneshaker is the ONLY all vegan donut shop in Paris so I HAD to try it! Super cute store front & even more charming inside, Boneshaker is making amazing vegan donuts you don’t want to miss! They had a variety of unique & fun flavors as well as some classics. The fluffernutter spoke to me & it was perfect!!! For the price you pay, you get a BIG donut. The donut itself was perfect as well as the delicious flavor inside & topping! So happy that I stopped in Paris’s only all vegan donut shop! It was amazing! 🍩🤍✨

It’s just a beautiful weather and I just roaming around and found this place just for a mocha coffee but then tried also the donut with peanut butter and it’s so good. This is one of the best donut I e tried. While enjoying my donut and mocha coffee, I browsed the review and you deserved a 5 star review and the girl took my order is very nice too.

Google
Best donuts I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Super big and filled to the brim with delicious creams, incredibly soft and pillowy, I still can’t get over how moist they were. Everything was just perfect, from the cinnamon roll, which was to die for, to the coffee! Bonus points for the super kind and friendly staff. If you’re in Paris, DEFINITELY check this place out!

Google
I'd read about these donuts for a while and couldn't wait to try them, and they far exceeded my expectations. I ordered three - the speculoos, peanut butter frosted, and rose - and everyone was even better than the next. These donuts are light and fluffy and bursting with incredible flavors. I did share, and my niece loved them so much that she wanted to go back for more. I can honestly say they are the best donuts I've ever eaten, and I'll definitely be back.

Google
This is a delayed review, as we visited in October, but I cannot recommend Boneshaker enough. Being from the US, I am not unfamiliar with a donut. But I am unfamiliar with donuts as good as these. My fiance and I loved our visits there, and were really happy with their dietary accommodations too. Their coffee was also very good! We talk about where we’d like to go whenever we return, and of course we always say Boneshaker. 10/10

Although vegan donut shops in major cities are no longer as rare as they used to be, this might be the only one in Paris AND it stands out from others because of its puffy airy pastry. Vegan donuts have a tendency to be a little dense, and these are not. There is creativity in preparation, with filled donuts, some arranged as sandwiches, and others in a more traditional style. We went here twice and the selection was somewhat different the second time. They have a small seating area, and a toilet (but it was out of order when we were visiting).

All donuts are vegan which is amazing. But they were too sweet and greasy for me :/ I normally like desserts but this donut was too much in terms of sugar. Plus, most of the donuts are 6€ each which I think is a bit overpriced. I tried the raspberry donut on Saint Valentine’s day so it was in a heart shape (cute ^_^). Again I know that donut is not an healthy thing, but I wished that at least there would be some healthier maybe less greasy options.

Yelp
One thing my wife had as a "must eat" when we were in Paris was Boneshaker Doughnuts, a vegan spot that she refused to leave the city without trying, so we woke up on a Wednesday morning, hopped in an uber, and headed over to try some doughnuts. This spot is cool from the moment you walk in the door. This colourful shop wasn't big, but offered some seating and a good size selection of doughnuts, along with an extremely friendly owner who was a pleasure to chat with. I'm a simple person so I ended up ordering a chocolate frosted doughnut and a chocolate peanut butter doughnut. You know what kind of doughnuts I love? Fluffy ones, and these bad boys were super fluffy and so enjoyable to eat. They were pretty big in size, extremely doughey, and the frosting on top was pretty dang delicious too. Overall, Boneshaker Doughnuts is a gem for not only vegans, but anyone who enjoys Doughnuts. I had such a good experience at this place that I will absolutely return on future trips to France.

Yelp
Best donuts on planet earth. That they happen to be vegan is co-incidental. Order ahead -- and you won't wind up with a limited selection like some of the reviewers here.

Yelp
It'd been a while since I'd last had a good doughnut, so I took to Boneshaker to have one again. As it specializes in gourmet doughnuts, expect to pay about 4-5 euros for one. I went in the late afternoon, so there weren't as many options left: I opted for "Hoppy Days," a chocolate-stout doughnut with marshmallow cream on top. Unlike the usual, dense doughnuts I've had in the U.S. (e.g. Krispy Kreme), this one was surprisingly light and fluffy, not overly greasy. The chocolate and marshmallow paired together well in texture, with a slight hint of the stout's richness (although I would've like more stout flavor, but that's just a personal preference). Service was welcoming and friendly, which made my experience a good one. I hope to be back to try more flavors!

Yelp
As my 3rd favorite food, doughnuts have a very special place in my heart. I travel all over the world and try to get the best of the best wherever I go. I am really glad I got to try these, as I think they represent really well the creativity and decadence of American doughnuts. They were inventive and fresh! The flavors of each worked well together, and they were visually pleasing as well! That being said: enough with the 5€ doughnuts! I have had creative and decadent doughnuts in the US that are bigger and half the price. I get that Paris is an expensive city, but I wouldn't get these again just because they were so expensive for one, let alone three. Enjoyable?: yes. Delicious?: yes. But worth it?: I don't think so. I could see some of the seasonal, filled, creative monster doughnuts going for 4€ or 4€5, but most of the simple ring doughnuts with a flavorful glaze or cinnamon sugar could be 3€ or less. Perhaps if there was more doughnut competition in the city they would be, I don't know. Overall, try them if doughnuts are your thing. You will enjoy them.

Yelp
Best donut shop I've ever been to- no exaggeration. Was not expecting to find this gem during my trip, in fact went twice. Got the Boneshaker (Boston crème) and the Speculoos.

Yelp
I'm in the beautiful city of Lights, Paris. Seen this done place on my walk around the city. So starving I went in the shop for a court of donuts. I had an Peanutbutter with chocolate and one with an butter flavor in it. They were both delicious and and soft. The 2 ladies working the counter were both nice and proud of their work. One visited my homeland of Reno in 2001. So if in Paris look this place up and visit for a donut.

Yelp
Always try to find a good donut shop anywhere I go and this one didn't fail!! Ordered the Berry and Cinnamon roll donuts, which were delicious!!

Yelp
The only reason it gets 3 stars is because I didn't get to taste a donut that I would usually buy. I was there during their Halloween day. The line was ridiculously long (36mins wait), finally made it to the door and we are told they ran out of donut..WTFFF. next batch of donuts 30mins... Luckily we took a chance and decided to wait till the 3 people in front of us finished. We ended up buying the last 5 donuts and a brownie... The flavor that was left wasn't something I would usually get. It was just ok... But the BROWNIE!!!! DELISH! it was thick, chocolatey, tasty, caramely, sticky YUMMMY. So I will go back on a less busy day . Try an expensive donut and rewrite the review. Go for the brownie 4.5€.. pricey but a treat

Yelp
The owner is very sweet and takes time explaining her cake donut fun creations. Amanda is from DC and is a Le Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef and has done a good job of introducing the people of Paris to our fun donuts. I don't know if I've ever seen donuts made with Stout and bourbon before, can't wait to try more fun ideas she comes up with. It's a small shop and her Kitchen is upstairs. I'm told her dog Roxy often hangs around to great guests, I kissed Roxy that day. I tried the Stout Chocolate Marshmallow & Brown Butter Glazed & Toffee Popcorn. The Stout was my favorite. Have to support a women's dream to live and work in Paris. I think many of us would love the chance to do the same. Go get your donuts!

Yelp
Their caramel doughnut (fresh from the oven) is unquestionably the chewiest, softest, most divine doughnut my teeth have ever sunk into. Wow. The service was unexpectedly friendly, despite my poor attempt at French - he, in fact, initiated our conversation in English. So delighted! Too, the street is home to some pretty amazing eye candy.

Yelp
This is one of the most amazing donut places I have ever been to, hands down. The donuts have a unique texture and are absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth. The owner is a US raised, French trained pastry chef and was wonderful to chat with! Truly a lovely experience and I'm really sad they are all the way in Paris!

Yelp
As if Amanda and Louie (the very friendly owners) and Roxie (the ferocious guard dog) weren't enough of a draw, the donuts at Boneshaker are simply amazing. We stumbled across Boneshaker during a trip to Paris when I tired of pain du chocolaut and had a mean hankering for a gooey cinnamon roll. Google and Yelp pointed us to a little place not far from our hotel and a short walk later had us introduced to Amanda, giving Roxie a rub behind the ears, and downing sugary pieces of Heaven. My favorite was the peanut butter and dark chocolate while Shideh loved the salted caramel, but, in all honesty, my "go to" choice on a daily basis (should I ever live in Paris) would have to be the cinnamon and sugar. I never got to try the cinnamon rolls (Amanda only makes them on Saturdays), but I can't complain. The experience was unexpected yet wonderful and it remains one of my favorite memories from our visit to the City of Lights.

Yelp
Good donuts with interesting flavors. The shop inside is very small and unmarked on the street, but they offer up around seven different flavors of donuts. We had a glazed, caramel and bacon topped. The bacon of course was our favorite. Also, a local fresh made lemonade to wash it all down.

Yelp
Cute donut shop with iced lattes. Closed sundays and mondays though!

Yelp
Yet another installation in the always-getting-hipper 2nd arrondissement, just a moment removed from rue Montorgueil. If you want an American donut with a bit of French classiness, stop in here. Just be prepared to pay at least quadruple (4 to 5 euros) what you might be used to for such a donut stateside (50 to 99 cents). Will it be worth it? Depends on how badly you are craving said fat pill. :-)

Yelp
Was pleasantly greeted at the only known doughnut shop in Paris ! I had first learned about Boneshaker Doughnuts on Instagram. Turns out the baker is from the Washington DC area, as I am also and her husband was from Ireland. Both folks were very nice and helpful. We chatted about how much DC has changed , foregoing independent shops to only be replaced by corporate chains that have no soul ! Oh yeah, the doughnuts, ha ha. They are freshly made daily and were super yummy! Had a peanut butter and chocolate, raspberry and a vanilla cream filled and chocolate covered one which was my favorite !

Yelp
Stopped in with family by sheer accident. Glad we stopped in as they have the best doughnuts EVER!!!! Coffee was the "icing on the cake"! Don't forget to pet Roxy.

Yelp
Came here the other day with my boyfriend. These donuts are so delicious. They're light and the donut itself is not too sweet. We both got the salted caramel, it was amazing! I can't wait to come back and try more flavors! I'm hoping for a plain glaze one day! Also they have drip coffee, for people who can't find filtered coffee, get it here! Also it's cash only. Worth visiting if you're in town or live here. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
A little spot in the heart of Paris was a nice little find. Had a few of the decedent tasties. The owner was cool and was playing u.s west coast hip hop. My kind of spot. This place is very unique and the donuts are very good!

Yelp
This place is really great. Probably the best donuts in Paris. The staff is really nice and friendly!
