Oh man what a sh*t show of a dinner service 2/8/25 was. We had a pretty big party of 9 for my sisters birthday and we made reservations a couple of days before. Honestly it started out pretty fine, we were seated quick and our server was pretty nice and took our order pretty quick.
Sadly that was about the best part of the service lol. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. They had plumbing issues and no free tap water was available. We had to buy their 3 dollar a bottle "Botega Italia" brand water which is basically just aqua fina or just any basic bottled water
My sister's drink was just completely forgotten, when I told our server he apologized and went to go check on it.
Another 10 minutes goes by and he comes back and says they ran out of the mix for her drink. So she orders another drink and we put in some appetizers.
Another 20 minutes go by now, we have been here a full hour, my sister FINALLY gets her drink and the appetizers we ordered. The antipasti, which was 30 dollars, was missing the bread, we asked our server and he said "oh we are out but they are baking it now". I actually laughed a bit because there was no way in hell they were baking bread.
We eat the apps, we put in another round of drinks.
A full 30 minutes goes by, no bread, no server, no more drinks, just completely forgotten lol. We have now been here an hour and a half and we had 1 drink each and 1 appetizer without bread.
Homie finally comes by with the bread, granted the appetizer is gone at this point, I take one bite of the bread and it's rock hard, like they went to the store to buy it. I actually started laughing because there was no way homie just lied about them baking bread only to serve us hard bread.
We wanted to speak to their manager and our server said that they had no manager of duty today. No manager, on a Saturday, where they are charging 30 dollars a plate. Needless to say we left.
This last portion here is specifically for Alex, the owner of Bottega Italia and other restaurants in Temecula. My family has known you for a long time, and we know how you treat your employees in all your restaurants, and today it showed in your staff. they were inattentive, frustrated that they were short staffed, had no management for support, and had to deal with a plumbing issue. Shame on you dude, those servers and bartenders couldn't have been older than 23 or 24, you basically are having children run your restaurants and charging a premium for it.
Get it together dude, your greed may work on tourists, but nothing about your restaurants envisions anything Italian.
