The Best Barbecue Restaurants and Carts in Portland | Eater Portland

"This unassuming Foster-Powell smokehouse fuses Southern barbecue with Italian-American comfort in a way that feels both personal and deeply satisfying. Housemade sausages, pillowy potato rolls, and long-smoked brisket are menu staples, but the real draw is the commitment to scratch cooking — Botto’s doesn’t outsource a thing. Keep an eye out for constantly changing specials, which can range from veal rib to pork belly taquitos." - Ron Scott

Hands down the best brisket we have ever had! Just phenomenal. The sauces are all excellent. The white sauce is a little spicy. The tamarind sauce is more classic. We also tried the pulled pork sandwich. It was good, but not fantastic. If you come here, I would definitely go for the brisket. Besides we did the potato salad which was good and the mac & cheese, which was also good. Again, and I can’t emphasize this enough, the brisket is what you should get. They do have parking here as well as the outdoor seating. There was quite a line on Saturday night and they were already sold out of many things by 5:30 PM. I would recommend getting there earlier in the evening or calling ahead and ordering takeout if you wish to avoid the line. It’s a small establishment And you order at the counter and then they bring it to you at your table.

Google
The most amazing beef ribs I've ever had one of these Fridays. Had a client visiting from California and he wanted to eat some authentic BBQ in pdx and I must say this place did not disappoint. With everything we ordered, the portion was lavish and the quality of food and flavours were amazing. The weight and price of the rib might seem a bit steep especially after you order it as an addition, but the subtleness of the flavour the softness of the meat makes up for everything else. Some great local beers and drinks available. Good to choose the seating both inside and outside. Limited 5-6 car parking but ample roadside parking.

Google
Short like to order. Pretty average wait for food. Spicy Mac was great even if a little extra spicy. Pulled pork sandwich was good, I really liked the mustard sauce, coleslaw was ok, beans were ok. Smoked pub burger was good. I'd go back, but wasn't overwhelmed. Worth a stop.

Google
This place has been on my want-to-go list for a while and I was not disappointed. I had the two meat tray which comes with 2 meats and 2 sides. Brisket and pulled pork with pork & beans and potato salad sides. The pickled onions and jalapeños were a nice added touch and you also get your choice of sauces. I went with Texas and Spicy white sauce; both were delicious and the heat was pleasant. I really wanted to try their Brunswick stew which had an ingredients list to long to list here. Sadly, they were sold out but that's on us since we got there at 4pm. It's worth the trip so treat yourself to some beer, brisket, and your choice of indoor with AC or outdoor seating with covered area and enjoy!

Google
Loved this BBQ spot. I kept passing by and decided to stop in this weekend with some friends and am so glad we did. Everyone LOVED their food and were eager to go back again soon. The BBQ was great by itself, and the sauces we tried were all incredible as well. Sides were huge and delicious. I had the brisket and ribs and got to try the sausage as well. The sausage was so good I’m definitely getting that next time. The mac and cheese was fantastic, very creamy, and the beans had a great flavor. My friend got the brisket sandwich and said it was the best thing she ate her time in Portland. Highly recommend

Google
Super cozy bbq spot with juicy meat and great sides! The place itself is on the smaller side, but there’s a few extra tables out back. There’s usually a line but it moves pretty quick. The brisket burnt ends were a fan fav for us! The pulled pork was juicy and cooked perfectly and the jalapeño sausage had nice kick and flavor. The sides truly surprised me tho because most bbq places do the basic bbq sides. The Mac is great however the sweet potatoes and collards really took me back! They were seasoned really well and accompanied the meal perfectly. But the best best surprise was our server, Keith, who has great service, great personality, and a dope playlist! Will def be back

Google
Juiciest BBQ in PDX with the absolute best sides, and killer daily rotating meat specials! I recommend Saturday and Sunday for the burnt ends goodness. The Bar menu adds a whole extra dimension and the fries are perfectly brown and crispy. Can't wait to try more and see what else they do amazing, but that cookie is perfect too... Not too many seats and the line gets crazy midday, so stop in early! Online orders don't get cut until you get there, but Keith is the hero at register and front of house, so you just have to give him time to run the line down. Also his playlist is award-winning, so you won't get bored ⭐

Google
We tried this place because I was craving some good BBQ. Wow did we get an amazing fix!! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We had the Brisket, pulled pork, sausage for our meats. Sides we had was jalapeño Mac n cheese OMG Yummy, and the Potato salad delicious. We can’t wait to go back and try the sold out brisket jalapeño popper and everything else. We had all the sauces except white (which we will try next time) they were all delicious and my favorite was the mustard sauce.

Yelp
Love this place. They have the meats!! Custom sauces are great too. Never had bad brisket here and the links are so good.

Yelp
Botto's is friendly, tasty, and consistent. I always see the same employees there, and that's a good sign. It's welcoming and I have yet to have anything on the menu that I don't crave again a few days later. I dream about the meatloaf sandwich.

Yelp
Botto's is a fun name for some fun BBQ and a fun menu. As far as BBQ goes in Portland, this is going to be top notch. They know what they are doing in here. We all deserve to know the flavor of award winning BBQ. This place isn't quite at that level but it's close. There are so many things I really want to try here, but what I had as a whole was big time. Sausage - Yes. Pulled pork - okay. Spicy Mac and cheese - absolutely omg. Casserole - wow yes/what a concept. Smash Burger - okay. Crack bar - Okay. The rest of the menu looks ridiculous. The daily specials look like maybe the best things they make. Biggest gripe with this place is the hours. Give the people what they want. Everyone who likes BBQ has to go here. No questions asked. (4.5 Stars)

Yelp
The GOOD - Cozy spot with some amazing value smash burgers - Crispy edges on the 1/4lb beef patty - Nice and toasty bun - The regular smash burger is only $6 and deluxe (comes with lettuce) is $8 - Super creamy and stretchy Mac n cheese with a lil KICK to it (I still think about this one) The OK - Burger was a tad too greasy for my liking. You could tell they use a very high % fat ground beef or maybe it was the tallow. Still tasted great overall. - Their fryer was out of commission this day so couldn't try their tallow fries OTHER THOUGHTS - Wait and service time was reasonable, we went on a weekend so there was a bit limited seating. No complaints overall. - No bathroom OVERALL I'll be coming back in the area to try their BBQ next! Don't sleep on their smash burgers. Best value in Portland for only $6 for a single.

Yelp
The brisket was incredibly tender, and the sides were top-notch, super creamy mac and cheese, perfectly sweetened sweet potatoes, and just the right tang from the collard greens. Looking forward to visiting again and trying their weekly specials!

Yelp
4.5/5 My brother said this was the best BBQ in town in his opinion, so ofc we had to check it out to test his theory! Very limited number of indoor seating so be prepared to eat outside if weather is not looking warm or if you have a big party. Ordering does take awhile if there's a line. They have a rotating day to day special menu, we came Sunday so our special was Burnt Ends. Ordered a 3 meat platter, which comes with two sides. We got double brisket, burnt ends, spicy mac and collard greens. We also added another side of regular mac for our daughter. They also have a list of sauce offerings. I like spicy anything and went with spicy white and my husband tried the rest. Meats were rubbed and cooked well and tender. Our brisket was half and half on being juicy and dry. I ended up with the dry bit and was a bit disappointed but the spicy white sauce was so fire I ignored it. Burnt ends luckily had a small restock so we got some and it was cooked well and juicy, but more sweet in flavoring so it balanced well with dip. The spicy mac is SPICY and not kid friendly (jalapeños and visible pepper seeds spicy) but it was so so good. Almost like a spicy jaalpeno alfredo mac if I could describe it. A great pairing with all the meat and the spicy white sauce. I don't like collard greens or mustard, but I enjoyed the collard greens here as well as their mustard sauce to my surprise! Didn't care for the other two sauces. Will be back.

Yelp
we were in our smash burger era and stumbled upon this spot. an absolute bang for your buck and amazing service. its quite a popular spot, there were a lot of seating inside and out but all filled up! we got their smash burgers and mac n cheese and i was impressed with how everything tasted. the mac and cheese was made differently than your normal mac n cheese - this had a smokey taste to it, perfect match to all their other menu items. i look forward to going back for their smash burgers and other bbq items!

Chris A.

Yelp
I've yet to find a BBQ place in PDX that can compete with Botto's burnt ends and brisket, let alone the Mac & Cheese. Other items like the pulled pork and smash burger are great and worth trying out. Really friendly staff and a majority of the outside seating area is shaded, which is perfect on a hot day.
google avatar

Cierra L.

Yelp
Great BBQ, tasty sauces, and incredible Mac 'n Cheese are just a few things you'll find at Botto's BBQ. Their smash burgers and fries are incredible too. Their space is small, and they stay busy, but we've never had an issue grabbing a seat!! They once had these brisket stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeños and I haven't stopped talking about them in months. They also have their own parking lot!! Score!
google avatar

Ken S.

Yelp
Don't let the slow service stop you from trying this barbecue joint. I had the original double smash burger with beef tallow fries, and I had to try a bowl of the Brunswick stew top with Fritos I will be back

Yelp
I came to Botto's on recommendation from a family member. He knows I'm always on the lookout for some great BBQ. Having had BBQ in Texas, Kansas City, and South Carolina. I can be picky when it comes to BBQ. It's relatively easy to make good BBQ, but amazing BBQ is truly an art. I was told the brisket was great. After looking on yelp, I decided I had to try a couple items. I went with the Brisket Sandwich, Ribs, and Sausage. When the food came out, everything looked great. Unfortunately, when I bit into my Brisket Sandwich, it was all fat. I don't think there was any meat on this whatsoever. Truly disappointing! The ribs tasted great. St. Louis cut and not swimming in sauce. The rub had a great flavor. They were smoked to perfection. These I would highly recommend. The sausage tasted great as well. Certainly, worth trying! When it comes to BBQ, Portland really fails. Though there's one other place I need to try, but I'm not going to name it here. Botto's has a great opportunity and the potential to serve some great BBQ. The service and atmosphere here were great. The food served on a metal tray. Just how it should be. It was very busy, which is always a good sign. It may be that the Brisket is amazing, unfortunately I just got all fat. I will certainly give Botto's another try, as it shows some promise. If you live in Portland, give Botto's a try.

Yelp
Hands down the best BBQ in town. My particular favorite is their BBQ parfait. It's a smaller portion, but perfectly sized to prevent my beloved meat coma. All the sides meet my particulars and the place is comfy and inviting. Plan to wait your turn, but when you order they are meticulous to make sure you make the most out of your trip.

Yelp
Best bbq I have had in Oregon. Definitely worth the wait. Great service. Ordered the brisket poutine which was amazing and a meal on its own. Also got the meatloaf sandwich which is probably my new favorite. Awesome atmosphere with some inside and nice outdoor seating. Definitely need to check out if going to concert or event at moda center.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Botto's makes a wonderful lunch destination. Service is quick, and the atmosphere is a perfect match for the food. Plastic trays, paper cups, and wax paper serving as plates were wonderfully appropriate for delicious comfort food. A bit of research will go a long way before paying a visit. Botto's is closed Monday and Tuesday, and every other day has a different special available. Fortunately, their regular selection of burgers, sandwiches, and sides will make any carnivore happy, as long as it isn't Monday or Tuesday. Based on other reviewers, I apparently made a good choice by showing up midday, since they seem to sell out on a regular basis. Considering the quality of what I had for lunch, I'm not surprised.

Yelp
I've heard about this place and decided to check it out. It's a cute older building. The a-frame definitely gets noticed. The line was still inside, but easily extends to the outside. The staff is quite efficient. One person is taking orders, ringing them up and serving. Things can run out so I'll have to come in earlier next time. We got the 3 meat plate so we could try as much as possible. Brisket, pulled pork and ribs. All totally satisfied our hunger. The meal came with 2 sides so we got the baked beans and the mac n cheese. The beans were practically a meal. There were big pieces of meat and even collard greens in it. I would order it again. While the mac n cheese was good, the baked beans were the winner. All in all I think the ribs were my favorite. I may have to order a rack for myself. They literally fell off the bone. So juicy and tender. And the sauces were yum. Hubby said they were too vinergary for him, but I like vinegar so they were yum for me. They have a tamarind sauce which provided a bit of sweetness so I enjoyed that.
google avatar

Maja J.

Yelp
Botto's BBQ is on a whole different level! I've tried just about every barbecue spot in Portland, and nothing even comes close. Every bite is packed with flavor, perfectly smoked, and cooked to absolute perfection. From the brisket to the ribs to the insanely good sides, everything hits every flavor profile you could want--savory, smoky, tangy, and just the right amount of heat. The staff is just as incredible as the food. Friendly, passionate, and genuinely excited to share their craft with you. They take the time to make you feel welcome and ensure you have the best experience possible. The ambiance is a cute lil bbq joint and plenty of seating inside & out. If you're a BBQ lover, do yourself a favor and get to Botto's ASAP. This is the real deal, and there's no better barbecue in Portland. I'll be coming back again.

Yelp
This is exactly what we have been looking for in PDX. We have traveled all over the US and eaten bbq in Memphis (Central BBQ & Rendezvous), Austin (Franklin's), Kansas City (Jack Stack & Gates), St. Louis (Salt & Smoke) San Clemente (Heritage) & Nashville (Martin's & Peg Leg Porker) This is easily in the top 5 BBQ places we have eaten at! The staff was really hussling to take orders and get the food out as quickly as they could. good thing most customers understand that good food is worth the wait. We arrived around 12:30 and had our food in just under an hour. If you've ever been to Franklins this is really fast for bbq service. Love that the location is a typical Texas bbq joint where it's all about the food and not the frills. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. We ordered the three meat tray with brisket, pork belly burnt ends (Saturday special) and ribs with Mac & cheese and pork & beans and a smash burger. We also ordered three of the jalapeño poppers thanks to a recommendation from the guy behind us and these were AMAZING!! They are stuffed with brisket & cheese then wrapped in bacon!!! Do not pass these up while you're there. We will for sure be back!

Bexx K.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD!!! I ordered the brisket, pulled pork, pork and beans, potato salad, and collard greens. My friend ordered brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, pork and beans, and potato salad, and we got 1 of each of the sauces. Everything was spectacular, the brisket was so tender it almost just dissolved in your mouth. Everything was well seasoned and so many flavor profiles it was wonderful. I have never had barbecue in Portland that transported me out of this world like this did. I was really surprised with the Jones orange cream soda they had at the soda fountain too! I haven't had Jones soda in forever! Location is really cute and unassuming too. I can't wait to come back. Everyone working there was really nice too. It was very busy, but they were still quick to get everything out to us.
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
Bottos is my favorite BBQ spot in town. I've been here so many times I've lost count. The meats are tender and not dry. I really like their brisket and pork belly burnt ends. They have weekly specials of different meats including the ones they serve everyday. They also have really good side options especially the spicy mac and potato salad. I usually come here for the meat trays but the last few visits I've been ordering from their bar menu. I usually get the original smash burger which is $5 for a single patty. They also have a bunch different sauces to choose from. All of them are good but the spicy white is my favorite. I continually come back here because it's consistent and service is quick and friendly. Inside is a little small but they also have outside seatings. Sometimes they run out of certain foods for the day I recommend coming in early
google avatar

Charlie K.

Yelp
Bbq is great although a little expensive for what you get. The fries orders have been very light to the point where I won't order them again.
google avatar

Jessyca M.

Yelp
The service was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our meal arrived really quickly after we placed our order and found a spot to sit. There are plenty of tables both inside and outside to choose from, and since it was such a great day, we decided to enjoy our meal outside. If you're thinking of going on a Saturday, I can't recommend the pork belly enough!
google avatar

A O.

Yelp
Really good bbq joint. Very friendly staff and the quality of food is one of the best in Oregon. Their spicy mac is so good! One of my favorites. Their burnt ends are the best! I definitely would come back! I tried other bbq spots in Oregon and I have to say this place is top 5!
google avatar

Luisa V.

Yelp
If you're looking for a BBQ spot with family or friends, or just cause you're craving some BBQ, I RECOMMEND BOTTOS!! It was worth the wait, service was super sweet, place was neat and clean! The fooooddd was just unbelievably delicious!! A 10/10 must eat here again ((:
google avatar

Micah H.

Yelp
Everything was good... I would say the pulled pork was a little dry and the sauces weren't amazing. They ran out of ribs and some other items right before we got to order. Smash burger was super good and simple. We will be back for ribs and others
google avatar

Kathleen S.

Yelp
Oh drool, so good! Had the pastrami brisket and could have cried it was so good. I always look for the fattier cuts of brisket and this did not disappoint. We got the Mac and cheese side and it was incredible. Service was doin their darndesr to pump out orders asap, but there will always be a line cause good BBQ places always have lines...and are always worth the wait.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
First timer. Friendly Portland FD guy ahead of me gave me great recommendations. Ordering was a cinch, service was a tad slow. But worth the wait. Most delectable brisket I've ever had! Sausage was tasty and tamarind sauce topped it off. Will be back for more.
google avatar

Zach S.

Yelp
Amazing BBQ Joe showed me before our movie. They sell out of many items as the day rolls so if you know your order... order online and they hold It for you till you come later to pick up.
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
The Bomb BBQ!! I don't eat BBQ a lot, but when I do this is the place. As that famous chef with the spiky blond hair says "The flavor jets are on!" Every last bite is juicy & delicious. Their sides are crazy good. I usually get beans, potato salad and slaw. They have indoor seating as well as picnic tables outside. Lot parking. Decent beverage options (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Yes, yes, yes a1000 yes to Botto's BBQ! Service is decent, but they run on a skeleton crew. 1 person on food prep and 1 at the register the busy Saturday night I was there. So be a good customer and bus your table. Bottos is the Best!!
google avatar

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Amazing bbq, probably one of the best in town. Their Friday specials of beef ribs are truly divine - smoky, sweet, fall off the bone tenderness with the right amount of fat. The meatloaf burger is also delicious with the gravy dip. Good bang for your buck.
google avatar

Shawna B.

Yelp
I'll keep this short and sweet - Botto's is the best BBQ I've ever had. It's better than all the BBQ I tried in Texas, which was amazing. Everything I've ever had here has been exceptionally delicious.
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
Really wish I had placed an order online to reserve the meat. I didn't know that they would actually sell out but boy do they. When I went around 630, the majority of meats were out. They did still have the brisket and that was amazing. The meat was tender but if I were to order it again, I would only order the fatty pieces and skip the lean ones. The mac and cheese was extremely rich and decadent, which is how I like it. The smash burger was a great price and didn't taste oily. Service was quick and I will definitely come back early next time to try the other meats.
google avatar

Randy N.

Yelp
Was in Portland a few weeks ago on business. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was Amazing , the service and the food. Can't say enough great things about this place. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. And the staff were all super friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back next time I am in the area. Keep up the good work, you are doing a great job.
google avatar

Charles F.

Yelp
Really good bbq at a great price. We had the pulled pork, broc/cauli bake, brisket, stew, coleslaw and sausage. Really enjoyed all of it, including the sauce. Only thing missing was homemade sweet tea. Would definitely look to go back if in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Holy crap. If you need a BBQ fix, try Botto's! I've been craving burnt ends for weeks now, and Botto's is the only (recommended) place I could find them on the menu, and they only offer them on Sundays. My family ordered a bunch of items, and the burnt ends & stuffed jalapeños were the stars. Both items tend to sell out, so place an order before you head over. They open at 12pm on Sundays, and the jalapeños were sold out by our pickup time of 1245, and the burnt ends by the time we were home at around 115 (I was looking on line for the sauce descriptions & noticed). My son was raving about his smash burger & spicy mac n cheese, while I found the regular mac n cheese to be nicely prepared with the noodles swimming in a delicious cheese sauce. I also had the Cole slaw, but this will be a pass for us going forward: there wasn't anything that made it special, and I'd actually prefer bagged cole slaw from the grocery store The space itself is pretty small & cramped, but it's the epitome of a BBQ joint. While the smell of smoking meats wasn't very strong outside, once you opened the door, it smacked you in the face & was absolutely heavenly! I may have had my burnt ends fix, but I can easily see Botto's becoming regular option for our Restaurant Rotation!
google avatar

Dean S.

Yelp
Went early Saturday morning, a line began to form about 20 minutes before opening. Ordered the 3 meat tray, Brisket, Ribs, and Sausages. Sides were potato salad and beans, my son go the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, sausages were a little dry, but full of flavor. The only down side is that there was only one guy in the front doing everything, taking orders, answering the phone, bringing out orders to tables, poor guy. So if you're in a hurry you better be first in line. We dined in, there was a line outside the door the entire time we were there. Great little BBQ spot!!
google avatar

K K.

Yelp
We got the Wednesday special, prime rib, and it was good. Tried both the prime rib French dip and the prime rib ala cart. The guy at the counter was very nice. After we ordered he asked us if it was okay to have the spicy white sauce and I said "sure", after the first bite I realized why. It is a habenero sauce, and yes it is hot. Also got the brisket Brunswick stew. Mmmm it was good. As was the side of beans, and jalapeño popper.
google avatar

Naly S.

Yelp
Parking is limited, we had to park down the street and walk a bit. Seating is also very limited, they have some picnic tables outside as an option as well. We did a platter, which was pretty plentiful for two people. I thought everything tasted good, I would've preferred a more creamy coleslaw myself though. My favorite was the ribs, then the brisket, and the pulled pork last. The flavoring was all pretty generic between the meats, but they were all pretty juicy. Collard greens were a nice touch as well.
google avatar

Lily Z.

Yelp
Their pork belly burnt ends are what dreams are made of! So juicy and flavorful. Hands down my favorite bbq spot in Portland! Ive loved everything from Bottos! Their smashburgers are bomb too! The jalapeno brisket poppers arent that spicy and a must get. Check their website for their meat "schedule". Saturday is pork belly burnt ends day!!
google avatar

James D. H.

Yelp
The two of us ordered online but didn't like the delivery options and decided to pick it up. My bro. had his days mixed up, so no brisket pastrami for us on a Wednesday if only it was Thursday. We ordered the lean brisket, pulled pork with sides of spicy mac n cheese, potato salad and coleslaw and of course the they thre in some house pickled red onions and jalapeño mix with some burnt ends for good measure. Everything was really good. The lean brisket was my favorite. I'll order regular fat next time. The spicy mac was good. The house pickled jalapeño and onions, wow. That's awesome and really hot. Nice. I definitely need to bring my wife here. Maybe they'll have sausage links when I come back. The only bad part here. They only make so much. They stay open till they run out of food. We got there a little after 2 and they were already running out of items.

Yelp
TELL EVERYBODY: I have been here several times and this is definitely a "secret spot" that I need to expose more. Ya know, if the pandemic taught me anything, it is keeping your favorite eateries as secret spots can come back to bite you in the butt. A bunch of my favs closed due to failing numbers at the till, after pandemic. So As I see it, if more people knew about your favorite spot, there would be more word of mouth and potentially a greater following that equals greater revenue. This has become my game plan. So, obviously Botto's is a place I now speak loudly about. EATS: I usually get the 1/2 lb turkey on a bun, topped tamarind sauce... potato salad and coleslaw as sides (opting to put the coleslaw atop my sandwich). I have never been disappointed... although I find the slaw bland, whereas I enjoy a creamier, sweeter slaw. If I had a single wish, I would opt for a sweet dessert that didn't have chocolate in it... like a blondie or oatmeal cookie... not that I need it. It would just be nice after the meal to not have to satiate my sweet tooth elsewhere. This very minor detail by no way detracts from the star rating. THE STAFF: Service here has always been on point and even if it your first time here, don't fret with the sauces... just tell them what you like, flavor-wise, and they will steer you in the right direction. HONORABLE MENTION: The Aladdin Theater is across the street and going to see The Zombies and Dave Mason in 2022 are just two recent examples of why I would have to thank the theater for my discovering this place initially. Even if I eat somewhere else, I still get food to go, stuff it in my cooler in my trunk, go to the show then have a great lunch the next day. I think you will find that it is always a win-win at Botto's... a place I am proud to say that I am a repeat offender!

Yelp
Wouldn't call myself a bbq expert by any means, but of the bbq I've had, especially in Portland, this place is great! Passed by this place many times and have always meant to try it and finally stopped by bc we were stuck waiting for the train to cross down the street! I believe they took over the old pok pok space. Service is casual, quick, straightforward, no frills. They have many interesting sauces to choose from and differently daily specials. I was SO lucky to come in on a saturday for the pork belly burnt ends special. Also highly recommend the Brunswick stew, think chili but without the beans. It's an amazing melting pot of their different meats in a warm and hearty stew.

Yelp
Botto's has been on my radar for awhile and I finally made it. We learned that the reviews are accurate! I made an order online, very easy. We decided o. 1/2 pound turkey, 1/2 pound brisket, 2 ranch chicken links, 1/2 pound spare ribs, Small baked mac and Small pork and beans. I arrived a few minutes before my order was to be ready. The restaurant has some seating inside with more outdoor options. No observable issues or concerns. They cut the meat upon arrival so I had a minimal wait. I got the food and headed home. The turkey (which I wouldn't normally get at a bbq place) was juicy and well flavored. The brisket was amazing! Juicy, tender and full of flavor. The ranch chicken links were also really good - bit of cheese mixed in, yum. The spare ribs were juicy and tender, not "fall off the bone " but really good. The baked mac was great, super cheesy and pasta well done. The pork and beans was ok, probably would not order next time. I'm seriously impressed and will be back to Botto's.

Yelp
Great BBQ, side dishes and sauces. Friendly service and good music. This place gets a little too crowded for my liking at times, but it is in a fun neighborhood with a cool bar across the street and German deli right around the corner.

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite bbq places in Portland. Their bbq is great but their other dishes are amazing and good bang for you buck. The meats are perfectly cooked. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The bar menu is really good price for food. The meatloaf sandwich with the brisket gravy is amazing. I'd come back and get that. They also have a smash burger for cheap. It's can get pretty busy but street parking isn't too bad. The interior is a bit small but there is some outdoor seating. The bathroom is a honey bucket outside with a code, the only downside.

Yelp
Finally, Texas quality real smoked meats in Pacific Northwest. The brisket is perfectly seasoned with course black pepper and salt, and contains no overly smoked flavor like you find at some locations. Moist, nearly perfectly rendered fat from the point. Tried 3 sauces, and love the bbq on the brisket. Looking forward to trying a few other items.

Yelp
Best BBQ in Portland. I lived in Texas for 15 years and have been waiting for a place that can serve real Texas BBQ in Portland. This is it, y'all.

Yelp
Good BBQ. I ordered the two meat tray. I did not realize I would get one rib, and three slices of brisket. The potato salad was good, and unfortunately for me they ran out of pork and beans. Busy place! A few tables inside, with some picnic tables outside.

Yelp
Drove by and saw Botto's BQ sign. Love BQ! We arrived around 5:30P. They are open until 8, but many items were sold out. They list on a chalkboard items that are sold out. We decided on a 3 meat tray to share. I was craving ribs, but when we got to the front of the line...they were sold out! We decided on the brisket, pulled pork and sausage link. Once again they told us they just sold the last sausage. We ended up with double brisket and pulled pork. The 3 meat tray comes with 2 sides. Hubby made a mistake and thought it came with 3 sides. More on that later. The brisket was moist and tender. Nothing special about the pulled pork. We ordered double baked mac and cheese and cole slaw. The mac and cheese was disappointing. I was expecting a mac and cheese type casserole with panko or bread crumb topping. This was just a cup of mac and cheese. Although I will admit it was very creamy. I wouldn't order it again. We went outside to wait on the patio while they prepared our food. A few minutes passed and the cashier came and told us they were sold out of cole slaw...and could they replace with potato salad. We said okay...until I realized hubby had made a mistake and ordered an extra side. I went in and told the cashier I wanted to cancel the potato salad since that was not what we really wanted. The cashier said no problem..just keep the potato salad. She said I'll give you a credit by the end of the night. I tried to show her my receipt, but she said it wasn't necessary. It's been over a month and I've never received a credit. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. The potato salad was good so I don't have a problem paying for it. But you shouldn't tell a customer you are going to give them credit and not follow through. All in all the food was good. I know better to go early next time.
