The 20 Best Bakeries In Paris - Paris - The Infatuation

"Sourcing for the world’s best picnic is easy on rue du Nil, where Terroirs d’Avenir’s specialty butcher, fishmonger, cheesemonger, and greengrocer are shoulder-to-shoulder on the picturesque cobbled alley. Their cozy bakery is packed with country loaves and viennoiseries, including one of Paris’ best kouign amanns, a buttery Breton creation so rich it’ll drench the paper bag you bought it in faster than you can say kouign amann. You’ll also find a wide variety of dense sourdough breads like the pain du Nil with a close crumb that makes it ideal for toasties. Do not skip the "crousti-flan," a mini flan with a pastry base so sticky it’s basically solid caramel." - sara lieberman, emily monaco

The 15 Best Bread Bakeries in Paris | Eater

"Part of the strip of shops on Rue du Nil that make up the sustainable agriculture organization Terroirs d’Avenir (terroirs of the future), this boulangerie serves sourdough breads inspired by the organization’s mission. Focaccia, multigrain tin loaves, and all manner of breads are on offer. The boulangerie is only a stone’s throw from the primeur (fresh market), a fish shop, and a butcher, so you can have dinner sorted out before you reach the end of the block. Located in the 2nd arrondissement. Dayna Evans" - Dayna Evans

Pâtisserie Avenir Terroir is an absolute gem in Paris — a place where craft, terroir, and artistry come together in the most delicious way. Every creation feels like a story told through flavor, with ingredients that are thoughtfully sourced and elevated with impeccable technique. The pastries strike that rare balance: refined yet comforting, inventive yet grounded in tradition. You can truly taste the respect for terroir in each bite — whether it’s a perfectly layered tart with seasonal fruits, a delicate choux that melts on the tongue, or a viennoiserie so fragrant and buttery it feels almost poetic. What sets Avenir Terroir apart is not just the skill, but the philosophy — a commitment to letting the land, the farmers, and the seasons shine through in pastry form. It’s not simply indulgence; it’s a celebration of heritage and craftsmanship. This is a patisserie that goes beyond sweetness — it offers a memorable experience of place, culture, and passion. A must-visit for anyone who believes desserts can be as soulful as they are beautiful

It's usually hard to a true understanding of a location after just a single visit, but at the same time few things beat a good first impression! And the impression was truly good. The service was excellent, very polite and friendly staff. The range of delicious looking goods was impressive and luckily it wasn't just for show, they were delicious. I went there specifically to try the croissants. Unfortunately I came at an unfortunate time as they were not fresh from the oven, but despite that even they were delicious and buttery. Definitely something that would draw one back. Remember the N1 rule of viennoiserie - have it fresh! As for the rest, the location is quite central yet secluded enough so as not to be overcrowded. The small street itself doesn't provide much esthetic pleasure, and the boulangerie is definitely its main site I would say. The one problem is that this is a bakery, not a cafe, so if you are expecting to have a relaxing cup of coffee at a comfortable table this is not the place. But, if you are going to get some croissants for breakfast, this is the place for you!

Great location and great staff. I had the circular layered pastry which I think had cheese. Solid pastry, would be cool to visit in the summer. Maybe I'll try again next time for their croissant.

My dude, Paris is hit or miss for food. Some of the pastries are amazing, some of the places are great. Flip of a coin if the people are nice. However, this is a place to go check out. They are kind French people, with amazing pastries. I mean the chocolate croissants, bear claws, and selection is top notch. This place is def out of the way, in a small alleyway, but worth going to for sure. We went on August 4th, 2024 and it was the best stop before going to explore the city of Paris. Huge fan everyone.

This picture doesn’t do it justice, this is the best croissant I’ve ever had. It was so buttery, warm, and perfect. You can almost taste the layers as you bite into it. I went back twice during my trip to Paris last year and I will be going back when I return.

Google
I have eaten several croissants in Paris this one was by far my favourite so crispy fresh and buttery everything you would ask for! Also one with the nutella was good whole pieces of nut kind of made it hard to eat I would prefer it as smaller chunks of nut still good regardless.

Google
This boulangerie is sooo underrated. Best croissant i’ve had and the pain aux raisin was so good!!! mind you i hate raisins. The butter on the pastries was so fragrant and delicious. And the price??? sooo cheap, london could never!

We stayed nearby and, after reading the glowing reviews, I had to check it out — and I’m so glad I did! Locals really do know best. The queue moved quickly, and every pastry, baked good, and dessert was absolutely incredible 🥹🥖🍓 The staff were lovely, and the coffee was great too. A perfect Parisian bakery experience!

Yelp
Really cute bakery that's tucked away in a nice alleyway. The croissant I had was nice and flakey and the brioche was incredibly delicious and perfect. I really like brioche breads and this lived up to my expectations. The clerks were very friendly - they were patient while I was being very indecisive with the food options and even gave me an extra croissant. I would recommend this bakery and would be happy to return.

Yelp
Unfortunately my fav "Boulangerie La Parisienne" was closed on Saturday and this one was the closest. The neighborhood is cute. The boulangerie looks cute. However, the items look and are very greasy. Make sure to also grab one or better a couple napkins to clean the fingers. True for croissants, pains au chocolat, pains aus raisains. ... and one more comment: I spoke French (with a Swiss accent for sure) but I find it highly disrespectful to be answered in English. Just a sign of total arrogance and not a good business model. If available, I would recommend to go to above-mentioned alternative).

Yelp
Wow, the pain du chocolate. Such a cute little bakery tucked away in a charming alleyway. The clerks were friendly and super patient with my terrible French.
