The 17 Best Restaurants In Tampa

"While a restaurant at the intersection of Channelside Drive and Old Water Street could never truly convince somebody they were in Paris, Boulon comes close. This cream-colored brasserie has floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of mirrors, waiters in black vests, and a patio where you can pretend you’re in a more tropical version of the 11th arrondissement. They have a menu full of delicious French (and not-so-French) staples, like blue crab beignets, coq au vin, and a smashburger that’s doing its best upscale Big Mac impersonation with thousand island dressing and red onions. There’s also an attached boulangerie where you can grab croissants and madeleines if you need a quick morning pastry (and when don’t you?)." - cheryl rodewig

A polished French brasserie anchoring Water Street’s dining boom—live-music brunch, flaky viennoiserie, and seafood platters. Condé Nast Traveler spotlighted the neighborhood’s rise, and locals flock for the scene as much as the cuisine.

We missed our flight bc of major traffic and went to have lunch at Boulon instead. We had been wanting to try it for some time and glad we finally did, atmosphere, service and food were solid, great variety of wines too. The food was tasty and well sourced. Atmosphere is wonderful inside or outside, it was fun people watching over great wine and food. Our server Clay was perfect, he was so attentive and really wanted us to have a nice lunch experience. We really appreciated that, it almost made us glad we missed our flight. Can’t wait to come back.

My son and I truly enjoyed the entire experience and the restaurant, our waitress Gianna D was excellent, she was very attentive and courteous. We both got the French Dip sandwich, it was phenomenal. The Blue Crab Biegnets was delicious, and the entire experience was great . I highly recommend trying this while you are visiting Tampa.

I decided to try this restaurant because I miss french food and I am visiting the area from NJ. Boulon did not disappoint! This restaurant took me back in France. The server was great shes really friendly and always checking us. We ordered escargot, french onion soup, steak and fries, and duck. Everything was cooked to perfection and I would definitely be back here again!!

Wow! I haven’t had a meal this good in Tampa in quite sometime. From the first sip to the last bite EVERYTHING was amazing. Our server was wonderful and so was her helping hand David. Get the snapper, you will smell the brown butter before you taste it. The pot de crème is the perfect amount of savory chocolate. And the burlesque martini is life giving. 😋 If you’re on the fence because of price or something else, get off the fence and GO. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you!

Boulon Brasserie and Bakery in Tampa is a gem that effortlessly blends Parisian charm with Floridian flair. The attentive staff elevates the experience, delivering polished yet warm service that makes every guest feel valued . The menu shines with French-inspired delights like the BOUILLABAISSE Lobster Saffron Broth ($45), Baguette, Rouille of which I ordered. My wife ordered the COR AU VIN Green Circle Farms Chicken, Shallot, Roasted Mushrooms, Carrots, Pomme Purée ($34). Don’t miss the ‘Blue Crab Beignets’ or the decadent ‘Valrhona Chocolate Pot De Crème’, both showcasing the kitchen’s creativity and skill . The modern, bustling atmosphere, complete with a charming bakery for morning pastries, rounds out this must-visit spot. Perfect for food lovers seeking a taste of France with a lively twist! Huge thank you to our servers Kat & Mathew. The Ass’t Manager ‘Ralph’ was both friendly and very professional. He checked in with us a few times to chat and make sure we were throughly enjoying our evening out at his establishment. Highly recommend making this your regular dining spot while visiting downtown Tampa.

Google
Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in downtown. I came in on Mother’s Day for a coffee and a treat got their banana fosters seasonal latte and a carrot cake cupcake. Enjoyed the latte great flavor. However the carrot cupcake had a great base but the icing is overwhelming with salt and with the Fl heat it was melting pretty quickly. I understand it’s fresh but just wanted to share my thoughts.

Google
As a Chef, give my compliments to the chef! The food is amazing here! You'd have to be daft not to eat here. From the hostess, the servers, the bartenders, the managers, the cooks as well as the Chef, everyone takes pride in their work and you can feel it, see it, hear it, and taste it. Tangible quality throughout. While perfection might be impossible as with all things, this might be as close to it as you can get.

We had been wanting to try this Tampa restaurant for awhile now, and we enjoyed it. Food was great and service is on par. I will say that the cocktails are a bit pricey @ $20 each. But a nice spot for any special occasion.

Yelp
Our waiter recommended the lobster pot pie and BOY was that a great choice! It's served "deconstructed" which I think is nice because then you see all the components of it. I'm not the biggest mushroom fan but they went super well with this dish. The texture of the crust went so well with the sauce and the veggies. Loved this meal!! This restaurant is a large, open space with tall ceilings. Lots of natural light in the daytime.

Yelp
This restaurant is wonderful! Every time we travel we always find the French restaurant in the area simply because we love French cuisine. This place was beautiful! The decor was exquisite with the high ceilings and gorgeous lighting. It was very grand for a French bistro which I appreciated. Most of them are dark, elegant but quaint. So once I got past the amazing vibes of the restaurant I focused on the menu. It was full of great choices. I love when they make it hard to decide on an entree. That's when you know you'll be back. We began with the bread and butter, of course because who goes to a French restaurant and skips the bread? Not I! It was everything that you want it to be. Crispy on the outside but warm and soft inside with the salty butter (I'm drooling again). We got the Shrimp Creole appetizer which was amazing! I prefer my shrimp a little more cooked but it was so yummy that I ate it anyways. My husband ordered the pasta rigatoni for dinner and it t was delicious! I ordered the steak and fries with the peppers sauce. My steak was a bit under Medium and I ordered Medium. So I ate the edges and gave the rare center to hubby. It was delicious. The dessert! We had the Pot de Crème, and I almost fainted from how extraordinary it was! At first I thought, way too much marshmallow cream on top but once I started digging in, it was the perfect ratio. This was truly the highlight of our dinner. Don't skip dessert at this restaurant!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate our anniversary. What a great place. We always wanted to try but couldn't get a reservation. Service is super nice and attentive. Very friendly and pleasant. Ambience is very pleasant and modern. Wonderful high ceiling, and beautiful bathrooms. Tables were super comfortable and great space between the tables. Food was wonderful. We started with charcuterie board and a salad and for the main we had duck and snapper. Food was delicious. Charcuterie board was excellent with lots of things to try. Duck was juicy and cooked to perfection. And we received complimentary anniversary dessert-cheesecake. Great place.

Yelp
Went to the bakery at Boulon with a friend and was impressed! The service was great, especially since we were part of a Saturday morning rush. I had a cold brew with almond milk and a spinach and feta croissant, and my friend had a blueberry matcha and a spinach and feta croissant. The coffee was proper, my friend's matcha was DELICIOUS- velvety, fragrant blueberry with an earthy, creamy smooth vibe. The croissants were buttery and warm! The spinach and feta filling was so savory and so good!

Yelp
Boulon has great ambience and is in a great location! We have eaten there twice now and have not been disappointed. The scallop risotto is good, but wasn't my favorite. We recently tried a few appetizers when going for drinks and really enjoyed the blue crab beignets, salmon carpaccio, and shrimp nola. The beignets are savory, light, and fluffy- delicious!! Salmon was bright and flavorful, and my favorite was the shrimp nola. The sauce was divine and the little biscuits were done perfectly and went great with the dish! My husband is a huge fan of the burger- says it's the best in Tampa! The mystere noire cocktail was the perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and depth. I don't like overly sweet cocktails and this definitely was not that! Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while, and I'm so glad I finally made it! The menu had a wide variety of options, but I went for what seemed like a basic choice: the burger. A lot of people recommended it to me before I went, and I can totally see why. I'm so glad I tried it because it was amazing. The smash burger was absolutely worth it - juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I've been telling all my friends about it, and now I'm just waiting for them to try it too. Plus, the weather was perfect for sitting outside, which made the experience even better. This is definitely one of those places I can't wait to return to, and I'll be recommending the smash burger to anyone who asks!

Yelp
Easily a top 5 restaurant in all of Tampa Bay. What is my top 5? Well here it is: Boulon Ponte Il Ritorno Fortu Olivia I come to Boulon a lot. I've been for brunch, lunch, dinner, late night, drinks only, food and drinks. And every single time I've always had excellent service. The espresso martini here is very good (The Edition Hotel across the street has the best one in Tampa Bay). Boulon has one of the best French Onion soups you'll try anywhere. I don't eat seafood, but I really like the burger and the schnitzel here too. Excellent place to people watch too especially late as night as people really dress up to come here.

Yelp
If you're feeling bougie and ready to drop a dime, Boulon is the spot. This is my go-to when I'm craving king crab, caviar, and an upscale night out. The space is stunning and always buzzing with energy, especially around the bar--which is impressively large. The bartenders are friendly and quick. It's definitely one of Tampa's trendier dining scenes, perfect for a chic night out or a special occasion. And don't skip the charming bakery next door--it serves up great coffee and pastries that bring a little taste of France right to Water Street.

Yelp
We decided to do an early lunch on a Friday around 11, we had a reservation however it looked like there will still plenty of tables available for walk-ins. The atmosphere is always next level with all of the natural light and modern light fixtures- very beautiful! Since it was still late morning hours most of our party wanted a cup of coffee. Unfortunately our server let us know that they only have one coffee machine in the whole restaurant to make drip coffee, so it may take a while; we found this odd considering this restaurant had brunch on the weekends... but luckily it didn't take more than 5-10 minutes for our party to get all of our coffees. I got the ratatouille crepes which were AMAZING! Very tasty and I loved that they were folded and pan fried. My friend was hoping to get the French dip sandwich however they were all out which was disappointing, especially ahead of a weekend! Overall a good time, just some small details that can be improved.

Yelp
To celebrate my wife's birthday weekend, we went to Boulon Brasserie & Bakery for Saturday brunch. Since I had made a reservation in advance, we were seated immediately upon arrival. Parking can be a challenge in front of the restaurant, but we found a spot in a public parking lot just a 3-4 minute walk away. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Trey, who handed us the menus. Boulon Brasserie also has an open bar, so we started with a French Martini and a French Caribbean Spritz. For brunch, we ordered: Onion Soup Gratinee, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Shrimp Po' Boy, Pommes Frites The ambiance was beautiful, with a lively crowd enjoying food, coffee, and fresh bakery items. Our drinks arrived first and were a great start to brunch. Then came our soup and fries. The Onion Soup Gratinee had a rich flavor, but as we continued, it tasted a bit too salty. The Pommes Frites, on the other hand, were crispy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the sauce. For the main dishes, the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was a good brunch option, with eggs, bread, and potatoes complementing each other well. However, the real highlight of the meal was the Shrimp Po' Boy. The shrimp were marinated to perfection, well-seasoned, and cooked just right--we absolutely loved it! To end our meal on a sweet note, we ordered Honey Ginger Panna Cotta, which was beautifully plated, had a great texture, and was absolutely delicious--a perfect way to finish our brunch. Boulon Brasserie is a great visit on Water Street, offering a vibrant atmosphere, great drinks, flavorful brunch options, and excellent desserts.

Yelp
There hasn't been a night at Boulon that doesn't feel magical. The outside area with the music and heaters was perfect for a nice chilly night at Tampa. Thank you so much to our server Skylee for being such a sweet person and taking care of us, definitely 10/10. The food was delicious. I always forget how good the Onion Soup Gratinee is, and last night wasn't an exception, it is the perfect dish to start. The Cauliflower Gratinee and the Caesar Salad were also incredibly delicious, and the drinks were amazing. I extremely enjoyed everything and would love to continue coming back.

Yelp
Didn't really knock my socks off I had the crab eggs Benedict with creole hollandaise but it wasn't creole at all I don't taste any spice that you usually get from creole seasoning the bacon was just plain bacon nothing spectacular the best thing was the burlesque martini. Service was iffy the server was snarky when asked to split the check

Yelp
Typically, I have great service at Boulon but this week, it wasn't so great and that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The outside patio is such a vibe and is worth trying to get a seat at (if it's not smoldering hot out). The scallops were amazing. Cooked to perfection. The sear on the outside was done beautifully. I also ordered the burlesque martini, which was well balanced and tasty. I tried escargot for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The blue crab beignets are the absolutely star of the menu. Order that appetizer! You won't regret it. I would definitely recommend Boulon, just not on a busy night.

Yelp
The atmosphere felt elevated yet welcoming -- stylish décor, a lively but not overwhelming noise level. The drinks we tried were balanced, creative, and thoughtfully crafted. The quality of the food, drinks, and experience was great.

Yelp
Sidewalk Patio: Perfect Sunday evening dinner at Boulon sidewalk patio after laying by the rooftop condo pool in downtown Tampa all afternoon. Absolutely stunning & so romantic ambience especially at night walking by (will have to come back for that experience). I love the espresso martini here, got it with tequila. The French onion soup was spot on & not salty (had on 5/4/2025). Got the hanger steak medium. The service is exceptional & very attentive. Parking is very limited to mainly street parking. I parked at my friend's condo parking garage a block away.

Yelp
Boulon is a restaurant in the overly hyped area of Water Street in Tampa. Chock full of "trendy" this and "trendy" that, Water Street grew as fast as Jacks Beanstalk! Boulon is a lovely offering among the restaurants in the area. While we have eaten here previously and the food was decent but not memorable, this trip was strictly for the cocktails. Saturdays as you would expect are rather busy. But we hopped right up to the bar with no issues. We were greeted at first by a nice young man- not overly friendly but nice enough who asked us what we were having. 2 of us knew and 2 of us weren't quite sure- so off he went to make the two that had their collective sh*t together a cocktail. Cue another server this time a lovely and rather engaging young lady to take our other drink orders - she was great. Talkative and what is expected from a bartender- connection! We ordered and were very happy with our Espresso Martini's, a Burlesque Martini and 2 other fruity drinks that were made with Monkey 47- but because the cocktail menu online isn't updated I cannot remember the name- Lolol- but it was tasty! We each had two cocktails- enjoyed the ambiance for the afternoon as we celebrated a friend's Birthday and then headed off for another cocktail or two to Predalina down the way! All in all a lovely time at the Boulon bar!

Yelp
I don't know if they take reservations here. I came just before opening and was seated immediately upon them opening. Blue crab beignets are a must here!!! LOOVVEE. Shrimp po boy was good and perfect. The dish comes with their house made chips. Such a good meal. I love the service here!! They also have a cafe are if you want to pick up coffee or pasties to go.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and ambiance however the food flavors are lacking. Unfortunately was disappointed in the lack of flavor and seasoning in the food. We ordered the scallops with risotto and the steak frites. Scallops though plump left much to desire with the risotto having no flavor at all, lacking salt, etc. Steak was cooked well and was albeit somewhat better than the scallops dish however still--lacked flavor to be expected at a restaurant like Boulon with French influence. Frites as shown were on the soggy side. Nonetheless service was good. Drinks were great and perhaps made up for the lack of taste in the food but would love to see necessary improvements in the food.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it was mediocre for me. Here is what I thought: Ambiance: Amazing, the place is absolutely gorgeous on the inside. This is the one thing I loved most about Boulon. It was clean, open and tastefully designed. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Always important when going to a restaurant. Service: Service was good. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable. Food service was fast and tentative. Food: This is where I have to bump down my rating. We came here for brunch. First, we both wanted to order a nice coffee for a drink and was surprised when they had no specialty coffee menu. The only offerings were for any basic coffee drink with some syrup. For such a high end place I was shocked by that. If I wanted a speciality coffee drink I had to go to the bakery. That part just didn't make sense to me. We both ended up ordering a regular cappuccino. My mug came with a very obvious lip stick mark on it, so I had to ask for a new drink. I also noticed a table next to us point out a hair on their entree plate. Service can be more thorough on checking the plates before they go out. For an appetizer, we tried their "famous" 'Blue Crab Beignet'. I had high expectations because our waiter was boasting about it. It reminded me of a crab cake. It didn't really remind of a truly authentic beignet. It had good flavor, but it wasn't what we pictured in our minds. For entrees, my fiancé got their 'Brioche Crab Cake Egg Benedict'. He enjoyed his dish and said it was flavorful. I ordered their 'Croque Madame' the portion was HUGE, enough for two people. If I were to change it, I'd make the bread portion smaller with a larger side salad. It was heavy and I could barely finish half of it. It did have good flavor. Overall, the food was ok, I was expecting a lot more for what I've heard about Boulon. Also for a higher end restaurant, the plating could've been more upscale/picturesque. I'd like to try Boulon for dinner and see how it compares to their brunch. @living.with.reg

Yelp
Came back for dinner a second time and had the Snapper Amandine....sooo good! Sat inside this time and the ambiance is the best. This is the perfect place for date night or girls night. Service is always great.

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful lunch at Boulon in Tampa! Seriously, their modern French dishes are spot on. You absolutely have to try their onion soup - it's incredible and the short rib bourguignon ..... a total must-order. The service was genuinely friendly and attentive, and the whole vibe of the place is really fun. Merci!

Yelp
This was our fourth stop on our coffee crawl and we chose to have brunch. I had made reservations and they seated us pretty quickly! Our server was extremely personable and super attentive! The interior was beautiful! I had the Boulon breakfast and the potatoes were some of the best I've had!! My friend loved the French toast! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back!!

Yelp
This place looks like 1000 bucks. Great spot to come for a first date, to grab drinks. For us however, the occasion was a bit different. We had just eloped. We got married and came over here to celebrate with some drinks. The couple next to us were very kind, and kind of picked up on the fact that we had just gotten married, they treated us to drinks to celebrate us. The kindness of strangers. We had a couple of cocktails, and eventually got hungry. We decided to try the tartare with chips. Such a simple dish, but packed with so much flavor. We both enjoyed it quite a bit. We will be coming back here. Who knows, maybe it'll become a spot that we hit up during our anniversary each year.

Yelp
I was finally able to check out this restaurant. Today, my friend and I decided to dine here for lunch. The restaurant is located in the Water Street area. There was plenty of street parking in the area as well as Cumberland parking garage that was near by. The restaurants ambience was amazing. So when you walk in, it's very beautiful like a French bistro the tables had white tablecloths, and the seats were wicker. The service was amazing. Our waiter was so tentative and polite. For an appetizer, I order the escargot and then for my lunch, I had the shrimp po-boy, my friend had the muscles and together for a dessert we had bread pudding. I would totally recommend this place for a lunch date night,or group dinner. There was plenty of bar space available as well if you decide to dine alone.

Yelp
Boulon Brasserie and Bakery is a modern French-American restaurant in downtown Water Street. It is a vibrant restaurant with its Parisian interior decor. Make an online reservation via Open Table several days before your desired date. Boulon can get crowded during the weekends and after events at the Amalie Arena. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The parking is either street or garage, and the valet is available sometimes. As you enter the front entrance, the hostess is immediately in front, and the bar is behind her/him. There are numerous tables (20+) throughout the dining area. There are about 14 bar seats, and this area is packed on weekends. FOOD: 1. Blue Crab Beignets (3/5): Five beignet pieces are shareable between 2-3 people. It has a good ratio of blue crab meat within them. I would try other appetizers before ordering this again. 2. Steak Tartare (Garlic Aioli, Capers, Fines Herbes; 4/5): This was delicious. Simple and tasty. I wish there were more served in it. 3. Le Burger (Smash Patties, American Cheese, Red Onion, Thousand Island, Pomme Frites; 5/5): This burger is delicious with red onion and Thousand Island sauce. It is quite juicy with flavor in each bite. It is within the top ten burgers I've tried. 4. Scallop Risotto (Parsley-Vadouvan Pistou, Gruyére Brown Butter Crumble; 3/5): Overall, the risotto was the star of this dish, as it also has a bare touch of curry incorporated. The three scallops were slightly overcooked. 5. Snapper Amandine (Brown Butter, Almond Chili Crunch, Haricots Verts; 4/5): The snapper was delicious, especially in the sauce. I loved the extra almond theme with the almond chili crunch. It has great flavors, and I would order this again. The service was OK, as the servers took ~20 minutes before someone came to the table to introduce herself/himself and provide menus and water. The servers and bartenders are amiable otherwise. Would I come back? Yes. I've been back a few times.

Yelp
Walking down Water Street - Tampa and decided to dine at BOULON. Let me tell you one thing - I'm definitely going back again and again. Love the food and atmosphere. The food was like an intersection of French with a hint of NOLA and American food. The service was excellent. Ask for Gabrielle. She's great and is balancing school tooo. Date night, friends night out, or whatever you want - BOULON is giving. Try the old fashioned drink. One of the best in Tampa Bay.

Yelp
This is a beautiful place for brunch, but do not expect a smooth experience. I had reservations for a late brunch. One of the kids dining with us had food allergies, and the hostess acknowledged that when I checked in, which was nice. We waited 30 minutes to be seated. I get that brunch is leisurely, but 30 minutes is a long time to wait for a table when I show up on time for my reservation. We sat down. No physical kids menus are available. I had to check online. After 5 minutes of sitting and not being treated by a server, I flagged down the lady who seated us, and she said the server would be by soon. It took 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. I get that brunch gets busy. But I eat out a lot, and usually a server will at least zoom by, say hi, and apologize that he/she is running late. Not ignore us for 15 minutes. We were ready with our orders when our waitress did show up. We ordered and asked that the kitchen expedite the order as we hadn't expected a 45 minute delay in service and had afternoon plans. She agreed to accommodate. While the hostess mentioned my son's friend's food allergies, the server didn't mention it at all. I thought that was weird. The drinks came out quickly. So did the food. Once we ordered, we were served and finished our meal and paid the bill within 45 minutes. I just wish that we were seated earlier and received more professional service from our server. The food was not great for the price. My husband thought his burger was fine. My kids got the fried shrimp, and my husband liked it, but the kids didn't. I tried a French fry, and it was not crispy and over-salted. I had the frisee salad, and it was sooooo salty. I couldn't eat half. The croutons were good. The gardens were okay. The egg was nicely runny but cold. But the vinegarette rendered the lettuce inedible. I can't say that I will return.

Yelp
We had the best experience at Sunday Funday for brunch! Clayton was our server and truly made us feel like VIPs--attentive, funny, and incredibly personable. He helped us with wine selections and kept the vibe fun and relaxed the entire time. The food was just as impressive--the breakfast croissant with potatoes was perfection, and the smash burger was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We are visiting Tampa for spring break and decided to get breakfast before visiting the aquarium. It is less than a mile from the Florida Aquarium parking which was part of the appeal for us. It was a little busy, but to be fair it is near several office buildings and we were there on a Thursday morning. The food was amazing and the coffee was too. There is plenty of outdoor seating with good people watching. There wasn't much street parking but there are public lots close by

Yelp
What a cute place for brunch! I haven't gone here for dinner or a regular lunch but I came here on a Saturday late morning and sat outside. It was a beautiful day so the weather was nice and not too hot. They have large umbrellas for shade luckily. The staff was attentive and nice. The service can be a bit slow but I didn't mind because I wasn't on a time crunch but if you were, then I would skip this place. The food was on the pricer side but so delicious! I highly recommend the crab cake Benedict. Very tasty! I thought it wouldn't be enough food but l left very satisfied without being too full. It was just the right amount of food for brunch. I didn't get any drinks but they looked really good!

This is a new hot spot in Tampa, and I am living for it! Water Street has changed so much in the past 2 years, and I absolutely love what the city has done with the prime location. Boulon is a nice, classy restaurant nestled into the hustle and bustle of Downtown Tampa. I went with 3 other friends to catch up over a nice dinner. I ordered the chicken entrée, and it was delicious! I ate every bite. It does have mushrooms though, so be aware. We also split the crème brulee for dessert! The service was very nice and attentive. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Decided to meet a friend for a great dinner and we decided on a great Boulon Brasserie. The Yelp reviews prompted our decision. We were served by Alex who was so nice, accommodating, and well versed in the menu. He suggested some things and I decided on the legendary smash burger. It was amazing!! I opted for the cauliflower as a side and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant was posh, but also casual. We enjoyed the fine dining experience but didn't feel too stuffy and pretentious. We will be back!

Yelp
Was extremely busy when we arrived. Sat at the bar ordered a few app like cheeseboard, bread, and soup. For the main I got the pasta which had lots of flavor. As a whole the food was good and the service for the bar was also as expected. The first drink I had didn't have much flavor and was bland but the second martini was delicious. Note that the bar seating area gets very busy and people are not courteous above personal space or the order area.

Yelp
My wife and I had such a great Sunday Brunch experience, I'm not sure where to begin. The food was incredible. Obviously, this is the most important aspect of a restaurant. The cocktail had was (without exaggeration) the best cocktail I've ever drank...it was called the Juice Cannon. The food was superb - we had the Blue Crab Eggs Benedict as well as the Croque Madame. I think it's actually impossible to pick the wrong thing from this menu. Okay, our server, Cora, was incredible. She helped breakdown the menu to where we can be well-informed when we select our delicious options. The desserts - had the Banana Bread Pudding and a Grand Marnier...superb. 10/10...no cap. All in all, what I was expecting (overly priced and overly snobby atmosphere) turned out to be totally wrong. This is a repeat brunch date with the love of my life. This restaurant has completely won me over.

Yelp
Boulon is one of the best newer additions to the Tampa food scene. This restaurant has such quality food options, wonderful service and the atmosphere cannot be beat. You will feel like you have been transported to a much bigger city in an upscale chic hot spot in Water Street. After about 9pm Thursday-Saturday night the bar turns into a lively social area roped off from the rest of the restaurant. One of the best meals you will find in the Tampa Water Street area!!

Yelp
As Water Street continues to grow, I'm loving all the restaurants here. Boulon is another great restaurant. The ambiance is top notch. Very beautiful and classy. Food is solid as well. I love the French bistro vibes with a mix of more down to earth dishes, but with some flair. For instance, the crab beignets. Love the light and airy texture and the chunks of crab meat on the inside. The remoulade sauce was the perfect pairing. The burger was solid as well with delicious shoestring fries and a rich patty with both texture and flavor. I also loved their dessert choices, specifically the olive oil cake. Service is solid, although it can be slow at times if the night is busy. But other than that, solid place that is worth coming back to again :)

Yelp
There's so much to love about Boulon, the French-style brasserie located in Water Street Tampa. The restaurant offers an elegant and inviting atmosphere, and the service is top-notch. Our server was attentive, keeping our drinks topped up and even boxing up our leftovers for us. But the real star of the show here is the food. The charcuterie board is a must-try, featuring a delicious array of meats, cheeses, and jams that complement each other perfectly. We also tried the blue crab beignets, which were recommended by our server, and they were an excellent starter for two people. The crab was fresh and perfectly battered. For my main course, I went with the chef's special--the cottage pie. It was absolutely delicious and reminded me of my travels to Edinburgh, Scotland. It's easily one of the best meals I've had in Tampa. If you're looking for a swanky spot with exceptional food, Boulon Brasserie is the place to be.

Yelp
Wonderful business dinner. Sam was an excellent server with great suggestions. The steak tartar and French onion soup were delicious. The snapper, lobster pot pie and chicken were chosen by the three of us. We also enjoyed great cocktails (French martini was my fav) and a Napa valley bottle of Cab. Oh and Sam brought us her favorite dessert, bread pudding! It was delish!!

Yelp
So, word on the street is that this place can get packed, almost like a nightclub. If you're after a more relaxed dining experience without the crowds and noise, I recommend going for an early dinner--my friends and I did, and it was perfect. Honestly, when I first looked at the menu, I wasn't blown away and thought the food would just be okay. But with a large group, we ordered a variety of dishes to try, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Standout dishes included the Plateaux Petit, Blue Crab Beignets, Salmon Carpaccio, Steak Tartare, Steak Frites, and the Coq au Vin. The service was impeccable, and the cocktails were fantastic--everyone who ordered a drink literally loved what they ordered, which is rare! This place definitely exceeded my expectations, and I'd love to return for brunch next time.

Yelp
Our evening at Boulon was less than impressive. Would first like to mention that the restaurant itself is beautiful, but it's also very crowded and very loud. We went on a Saturday night and it was hard to hear the people next to me. Our night started with one of the wait staff dropping a wine glass which shattered and actually cut my sister's foot. It was a crazy accident and the manager was nice enough to bring bandages but it stopped there. I was actually surprised as someone that has worked in the food industry that he didn't offer to get her a drink or something. He was very nice but my sister was literally bleeding and he didn't even offer to comp anything for her which is super weird. The waiter we had was nice but definitely was not attentive to our table. In fact the managers saw we ran out of drinks and offered to refill them. Now to the food. It was all pretty mid. We ordered bread and butter, nothing special. We ordered the French onion soup, presentation was beautiful and it was good but not the best I've had. We ordered an artichoke appetizer, it was great. My husband ordered the steak frites and it was amazing but not really worth the price point. I would rather go to Bern's. I ordered the scallops and it was undercooked and lacked flavor. Overall it was a very expensive meal for something that just didn't wow us. I much prefer a night at Rocca or Bern's over this place. If I went back I would try to sit on the patio to avoid how loud the restaurant gets.

Yelp
I came with two friends for a drink on a Saturday afternoon. We sat at the bar around 4:30. We had been warned this place gets busy and it does. The Christmas decorations are cute and it's a trendy place to be. The bar tenders are only alright. They were very pleasant but mixed up our order twice, and just didn't seem to be paying much attention. Not a deal breaker and we would go back because we liked the vibes, we were just a little surprised that the level of customer service didn't match the standards of the rest of the restaurant

Yelp
Met a friend from out of state here for lunch. Everything was superb. Our cocktails were excellent. French onion soup was one of the best I've had...richly flavorful, with abundant cheese. NOLA Shrimp were tasty (shrimp could have been cooked a couple of minutes less) with the delicious sauce, and the little biscuits were crispy outside, tender on the inside. Got the pot de creme to go for dessert, will have that tonight. Anthony provided stellar service. The dining room and bar are beautiful. We would have eaten outside, vut it was a little too cool and breezy outside. There weren't a lot of customers there while we were there, so we enjoyed a leisurely lunch, with time to catch up after not seeing each other for over 7 years. Looking forward to finding another excuse to visit Tampa so I can return to Boulon.

Yelp
I dined here with friends and we had a wonderful time! The crab beignets were so yummy! Full of crab meat, a crisp and light exterior and the sauce was the perfect accompaniment! My main dish was the lobster pot pie and that too was so delicious and satisfying! The flavorful creamy sauce with perfect bites of lobster, potato, mushroom , corn and puff pastry . The only critique I have is that the music being played I super loud- we sat in the back where it was better, but toward the front the sound was overwhelming. I will be back for sure and just request to be in the back or outside

Yelp
This was our 1st dinner in Tampa and it exceeded expectations. The food was delicious and Kayla A, our server, was outstanding. She gave plenty of suggestions for wine and food esp. the crab beignets and escargots. Really great time overall.

Yelp
Clay is a beast! Thank you for taking such good care of my large group. You're such a hard worker and I thank Boulon for allowing you the accessibility to a palette for you to work your art. The food was amazing....with a vibe. The music is not as loud as the chef's wonderful flavors (:

Yelp
Do you want a delicious meal and a great nightlife scene? This is your place! Tremendous food and drinks, and a great atmosphere. A must visit in Tampa, especially as this is the best, new hot spot in Tampa right now!

Yelp
Stopped by before a show at Amalie and was pleasantly surprised with Boulon. Was very busy but lucked out at the bar. Got some drinks, crab beignets, lobster pot pie, and dessert. Everything was great. Crowd was loud and packed but it was before a show in Amalie so I can't hold that against them. Will be back.

Yelp
Clayton was the best server ever! The place is beautiful and the food was delicious! I was on a work lunch so didn't take pictures (felt shy), but we had the bread and the blue crab beignets to start (so yummy). I had the Caesar salad with blackened chicken and it was amazing! I had a great experience and will definitely be back.

Yelp
I came on a Wednesday evening without reservations and sat in the high top bar area. With my daughter and my cousin, we enjoyed dinner and dessert and I had one drink. I will definitely come back for the drink and the butter cake, but as far as the main entrée and appetizer, it was just OK to me. My experience wasn't really impressed. Therefore, that is the main reason why I gave a 3 star review.
