Boulon Brasserie and Bakery

Of French origin, we decided to go last night and drive an hour to come to this restaurant for the first time with our one-month-old baby to celebrate our anniversary. I just want to say everything was perfect. The food was delicious, and as a great connoisseur of the typical French dish, beef tartare, I particularly loved this one; it had a unique flavor. I had a wonderful time. The waitress, Ketlyn, and her assistant were fantastic, very kind and attentive. Thank you so much. A small note about the fries: they arrived cold. They should make an effort to improve that. Otherwise, everything was perfect, and of course, I finished with the profiteroles, my favorites.

Visited for brunch. Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Very nice area of Downtown Tampa. Portions were a little small and for $20+ a plate I wasn’t crazy about still wanting more food. Live musician for brunch. Paid for parking a block an away. Nice area to walk around after eating. Close to the arena.

oulon Brasserie is an easy win for a casual dinner night. Walked in on a Tuesday and snagged a beautiful outdoor table—great ambiance, zero stress. Service was solid. Our waitress was straight to the point, super chill, and refreshingly honest. No fluff, just facts. East + West Coast oysters? Awesome. The blue crab beignets lived up to the hype—absolute highlight. The scallop risotto was… ehhh. Flavor was there, execution not quite. Risotto texture missed the mark, which hurt my feelings a little. Steak frites were a win, and swapping fries for carrots was the right call (highly recommend). No drinks this round, but I’m confident they’d be a vibe. Would come back, would order even smarter next time.

Sooo Boulon made for such a lovely solo lunch and reading spot! I grabbed a seat at the bar with my book to enjoy a cocktail and some lunch. The bartender was really nice and checked on me often, and all the bartenders seemed to be in great spirits, you could tell they were enjoying their day. The restaurant has a bright, open feel that’s super inviting. I really enjoyed my meal, everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. I’ll definitely have to come back to try more from the menu! WHY CAN I NOT FIND A GOOD FRENCH RESTAURANT OR BAKERY IN TAMPA??? FYI, born and raised in Paris, France so I know a good French restaurant and bakery and this was not it. The decor was nice but the music was too loud. Add to it that it was pretty busy it forced people to speak louder than usual, which made the place very noisy. We decided to start with the lobster bisque as well as a French onion soup. The lobster bisque is the only reason why this place got two stars instead of one as it was decent not great by any means, but still good. The French onion soup was way too salty and tasted sour for some reason. With an ordered the regular salad I had a TRUFFLE CROQUE MONSIEUR which sounded amazing. I asked them if it came with cheese and they said yes, even though it didn’t mention that on the menu. I should’ve trusted the menu. There was no cheese to make it worse. The bread tasted stale. I could not see or taste any truffles, and the Dijon mustard sauce did not taste good either. It came with a side salad, and the leaves were also kind of old and seemed like this salad had been sitting in a fridge for a while before being served. Maybe they should look up what a Croque Monsieur is but the 2 main ingredients are ham AND CHEESE!!! Same thing with the Frisée salad. Old with dark spots. So instead of the salad, I asked a waiter if they could just do a croissant filled with cooked shrimp and poached eggs. I was told that nothing from the menu can be changed or added. It’s not like I was asking them to cook a beef Wellington that was not on the menu. They offered to bring me a croissant and shrimp on the side and poached eggs on the side. If I wanted to make myself a sandwich I would’ve stayed home! Are you kidding me? I asked to talk to a manager and he said he would see what he could do. It took them 30 minutes to bring back a croissant cut in half with shrimps on it and the poached eggs in a different dish. And the worst part the eggs were not poached. They were hard boiled. See the photo I posted. So still had to make my own sandwich. Wow! When I asked for the manager again, he told me that this is why they do not change menu items because the chefs are used to cooking only what is on the menu. I told him that they had poached eggs on the menu and if a chef cannot cook a poached egg properly, he probably shouldn’t be called a chef or even a cook. Instead of apologizing, the manager was trying to make excuses. They had croissants on the menu. They had shrimp on the menu and they had poached eggs on the menu. It’s not like I was asking them to do something that they had never cooked before. Absolutely ridiculous. He did end up apologizing but I reminded him that customers don’t want to hear excuses and it seems to be putting the blame back on the customer. We just want to hear an apology. So disappointed again from a French restaurant and Bakery. Right now only found 2 bakeries that are good and this is not one of them. Will definitely not be back.

Boulon was an amazing choice to celebrate my friend’s birthday! The atmosphere was fun and lively. The drinks were fantastic and beautifully made. The food was absolutely delicious and came out exactly how we asked for it, which made the experience even better. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Between the great service, spot-on food, and awesome vibe, it was a memorable night and a place I’d happily go back to again.

I had a great experience here! We sat on the patio for dinner and it was a really nice ambience. The French martini was definitely the best cocktail we tried - the pineapple adds a nice taste. They’re known for their blue crab beignets, and I really liked them - they were soft and had a delicious flavour. I also loved the scallop risotto - it was cooked very well and I would definitely recommend it!

Really enjoyed this place, the food was delicious and the service was spot‑on. The “Le Burger” was one of the highlights for me, super tasty, even though I expected a bit more meat in them. Still worth trying. Also, the onion soup is an absolute must; definitely one of the best I’ve ever tasted. They also make some great drinks, The French Martini, in particular, was wonderful and paired nicely with the meal. A couple of things to keep in mind, for example, the menu is a bit limited for me, and prices lean toward the higher side. Also, if you’re seated near the east‑facing windows in the afternoon, be ready you could face some strong sunlight because there are no shades, and that, can get uncomfortable. Reservations are highly recommended, as the place fills up fast specially around noon. Parking is easy in the area, with plenty of pay‑by‑hour spots and some fixed daily rates that might be a better deal depending on how long you plan to explore the neighborhood.

The name is kinda deceiving to people familiar with Boulud in NYC but the ambiance is very similar to French bistros you'd find there. It's a lovely space with a charming outdoor area covered with romantic white lights. Inside, there's a huge bar with cool seating across from it that has a clever seating concept for two tops. I was happy to see the ubiquitous French omelette on the menu but it lacked fine herbs and had an excessive amount of Gruyère in it - more like obese America style. Same with the breaded pork cutlet - it was too Americanized with excessive breading. Honestly, I chose this place to eat out of the many options, to have a French meal - not to have more of the same Americanized crap around everywhere. Aside from the good, the wine list is insanely excellent! There are so many great selections by the glass and the bottle selection is off the hook! Desserts were not appealing whatsoever. They've got a great selection of pies to order for Thanksgiving and we hoped to find something available on that menu on the dessert list, but it wasn't there. A simple apple galette would have been perfect but the list was the same old desserts you find everywhere else.. We learned there's a small bakery on the side of the restaurant open during the day. We'd have preferred to grab dessert from there than what was offered to us on the dessert list, but, unfortunately, it was closed at 6pm. Overall, it's a nice Tampa dining spot. Not wow all around from someone used to bigger cities but pleasant with friendly staff in a great location.

While I have eaten at Boulon Brasserie, I finally got a chance to try the bakery. It did not disappoint! Service was great and the aroma of bread and pastries from the minute you walk in, was truly the best way to start my morning. Unfortunately, my latte was $12. It was delicious but very pricey. Service was fast considering it was crowded on a Sunday morning. I hope to go back soon for some bread or pastries. The menu was extensive and everything looked and smell amazing! Boulon is conveniently located on Water St., where you can enjoy your coffee while walking around or perusing through the farmers market!

Great location near Benchmark Arena. Indoor and outdoor seating with a lively vibe. Food was delicious and, of course, French. Service was as good as it's going to get at a large and completely packed restaurant right before a big show at Benchmark. Give yourself 30 minutes wiggle room if you're trying to dine there before a big event at the arena. We loved our meals but had to rush through them to make it to our show on time.

Second time visiting and each time the service and food were wonderful! This place has a great vibe for any occasion - brunch with the girls, date night, business meetings - absolutely anything. The staff are attentive and friendly, always recommending the best selections. On this trip we tried the French Onion Dip sandwich, the burger (it lived up to the hype), and the bread pudding (my absolute favorite!). Everything was delicious!

One of my favorite spots in Tampa! They did such an amazing job with the interior design; the place is stunning and they really created such a lively dining/ bar experience. The food isn't very authentic, but it is delicious and is as good as you can get for French cuisine in Tampa. I'm not a huge fan of their bakery items, however, everything i've had in the restaurant has been a hit! I really love their coq au Vin, and the chocolate pot might actually be one of the best desserts I've ever had!

Boulon was spectacular, the food, the service, and the atmosphere all stood out. It's no surprise since it's one of Tampa's most well-known restaurants. The staff was friendly, professional, and very detail-oriented. They even cleared the crumbs off our table before bringing the next dish. I ordered the Steak Frites and asked for it medium rare which came out just right. The fries could've been a little crispier, but that's a small detail. The steak was perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. I also had a dirty martini, and it was one of the best I've ever had, balanced just right with the olive juice. The vibe felt like a classy mix of 1960s retro and modern design. Very elegant and upscale. Overall, I had a great time and definitely recommend giving Boulon a try.

This restaurant is wonderful! Every time we travel we always find the French restaurant in the area simply because we love French cuisine. This place was beautiful! The decor was exquisite with the high ceilings and gorgeous lighting. It was very grand for a French bistro which I appreciated. Most of them are dark, elegant but quaint. So once I got past the amazing vibes of the restaurant I focused on the menu. It was full of great choices. I love when they make it hard to decide on an entree. That's when you know you'll be back. We began with the bread and butter, of course because who goes to a French restaurant and skips the bread? Not I! It was everything that you want it to be. Crispy on the outside but warm and soft inside with the salty butter (I'm drooling again). We got the Shrimp Creole appetizer which was amazing! I prefer my shrimp a little more cooked but it was so yummy that I ate it anyways. My husband ordered the pasta rigatoni for dinner and it t was delicious! I ordered the steak and fries with the peppers sauce. My steak was a bit under Medium and I ordered Medium. So I ate the edges and gave the rare center to hubby. It was delicious. The dessert! We had the Pot de Crème, and I almost fainted from how extraordinary it was! At first I thought, way too much marshmallow cream on top but once I started digging in, it was the perfect ratio. This was truly the highlight of our dinner. Don't skip dessert at this restaurant!

Came here just for drinks on a Saturday night and sat outside. They definitely have the best espresso martini, hands-down. All of their drinks were so delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and was extremely accommodating with a gluten allergy regarding the vodka they used. We even ordered fries as an appetizer and he made sure that there was no cross contamination. We definitely cannot wait to come back for drinks and even try some other entrées. They also have the cutest little patio area.

Our waiter recommended the lobster pot pie and BOY was that a great choice! It's served "deconstructed" which I think is nice because then you see all the components of it. I'm not the biggest mushroom fan but they went super well with this dish. The texture of the crust went so well with the sauce and the veggies. Loved this meal!! This restaurant is a large, open space with tall ceilings. Lots of natural light in the daytime.

Came here to celebrate our anniversary. What a great place. We always wanted to try but couldn't get a reservation. Service is super nice and attentive. Very friendly and pleasant. Ambience is very pleasant and modern. Wonderful high ceiling, and beautiful bathrooms. Tables were super comfortable and great space between the tables. Food was wonderful. We started with charcuterie board and a salad and for the main we had duck and snapper. Food was delicious. Charcuterie board was excellent with lots of things to try. Duck was juicy and cooked to perfection. And we received complimentary anniversary dessert-cheesecake. Great place.

So freaking cute and adorable cafe. Will be back to try the more formal dining space, they we're setting up for brunch while we got our stuff from the café. It was quite busy, but they brought out our stuff in a pretty timely manner and the ladies who work there were super sweet. I think this would be a super good spot to go if you're wanting something, a little romantic and intimate for sure. And my spinach and feta croissant was to die for and the Matcha latte was good. They use monin syrup, which Is so much better than torani

Went to the bakery at Boulon with a friend and was impressed! The service was great, especially since we were part of a Saturday morning rush. I had a cold brew with almond milk and a spinach and feta croissant, and my friend had a blueberry matcha and a spinach and feta croissant. The coffee was proper, my friend's matcha was DELICIOUS- velvety, fragrant blueberry with an earthy, creamy smooth vibe. The croissants were buttery and warm! The spinach and feta filling was so savory and so good!

Loved this location for my friends 30th birthday! Served was super kind and knowledgeable & had great recommendations. Definitely try out the oysters & you can't go wrong with a steak as your main meal. My friend had the seabass and that was delicious as well! I admit I was doubtful when I first heard that Boulon's Le Burger was one of the best in town, but it held true! Stopped in for a quick work lunch with my colleagues and we all got the burger because many recommendations from friends. Our service was great for Friday lunch rush, and the restaurant was the perfect volume level for continuing work conversations over a meal. Can't wait to come back and try the French onion soup next time!

Went for lunch with a friend. Both of us are in the industry and have been trying out some of the new places that everyone has interest. I'll post photos but the potatoes app and escargot were excellent for starters while we shared the duck confit served with crepes and slaw. We loved all of it. I used the crepes like tortillas and my friend found that to be a very Mexican thing to do which is perfect since I am Mexican I do recommend to all. The place is very nicely designed in beautiful Art Deco style. This makes Tampa a great place to have wonderful high end lunch experience in a beautiful setting and great location

I loved everything about this place! The food was great. Girls night out we had BLUE CRAB BEIGNETS, Filet mignon, & SNAPPER AMANDINE. We didn't stay for dessert and opted to go across the street to The Pearl for the mason jar pies yum! But I will be back and plan to grab dessert next time.

Boulon has great ambience and is in a great location! We have eaten there twice now and have not been disappointed. The scallop risotto is good, but wasn't my favorite. We recently tried a few appetizers when going for drinks and really enjoyed the blue crab beignets, salmon carpaccio, and shrimp nola. The beignets are savory, light, and fluffy- delicious!! Salmon was bright and flavorful, and my favorite was the shrimp nola. The sauce was divine and the little biscuits were done perfectly and went great with the dish! My husband is a huge fan of the burger- says it's the best in Tampa! The mystere noire cocktail was the perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and depth. I don't like overly sweet cocktails and this definitely was not that! Will definitely be back!!

To celebrate my wife's birthday weekend, we went to Boulon Brasserie & Bakery for Saturday brunch. Since I had made a reservation in advance, we were seated immediately upon arrival. Parking can be a challenge in front of the restaurant, but we found a spot in a public parking lot just a 3-4 minute walk away. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Trey, who handed us the menus. Boulon Brasserie also has an open bar, so we started with a French Martini and a French Caribbean Spritz. For brunch, we ordered: Onion Soup Gratinee, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Shrimp Po' Boy, Pommes Frites The ambiance was beautiful, with a lively crowd enjoying food, coffee, and fresh bakery items. Our drinks arrived first and were a great start to brunch. Then came our soup and fries. The Onion Soup Gratinee had a rich flavor, but as we continued, it tasted a bit too salty. The Pommes Frites, on the other hand, were crispy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the sauce. For the main dishes, the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict was a good brunch option, with eggs, bread, and potatoes complementing each other well. However, the real highlight of the meal was the Shrimp Po' Boy. The shrimp were marinated to perfection, well-seasoned, and cooked just right--we absolutely loved it! To end our meal on a sweet note, we ordered Honey Ginger Panna Cotta, which was beautifully plated, had a great texture, and was absolutely delicious--a perfect way to finish our brunch. Boulon Brasserie is a great visit on Water Street, offering a vibrant atmosphere, great drinks, flavorful brunch options, and excellent desserts.

This place has been on my list for a while, and I'm so glad I finally made it! The menu had a wide variety of options, but I went for what seemed like a basic choice: the burger. A lot of people recommended it to me before I went, and I can totally see why. I'm so glad I tried it because it was amazing. The smash burger was absolutely worth it - juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I've been telling all my friends about it, and now I'm just waiting for them to try it too. Plus, the weather was perfect for sitting outside, which made the experience even better. This is definitely one of those places I can't wait to return to, and I'll be recommending the smash burger to anyone who asks!

Easily a top 5 restaurant in all of Tampa Bay. What is my top 5? Well here it is: Boulon Ponte Il Ritorno Fortu Olivia I come to Boulon a lot. I've been for brunch, lunch, dinner, late night, drinks only, food and drinks. And every single time I've always had excellent service. The espresso martini here is very good (The Edition Hotel across the street has the best one in Tampa Bay). Boulon has one of the best French Onion soups you'll try anywhere. I don't eat seafood, but I really like the burger and the schnitzel here too. Excellent place to people watch too especially late as night as people really dress up to come here.

There hasn't been a night at Boulon that doesn't feel magical. The outside area with the music and heaters was perfect for a nice chilly night at Tampa. Thank you so much to our server Skylee for being such a sweet person and taking care of us, definitely 10/10. The food was delicious. I always forget how good the Onion Soup Gratinee is, and last night wasn't an exception, it is the perfect dish to start. The Cauliflower Gratinee and the Caesar Salad were also incredibly delicious, and the drinks were amazing. I extremely enjoyed everything and would love to continue coming back.

Great service, delicious food and beautiful ambiance. Our table tried an array of cocktails, every single one of which was well-balanced and delicious. We tried the rigatoni - perfection! The beurre blanc salad with the white balsamic vinaigrette is not on my list for Top 3 salads in Tampa. The table also had the steak and gluten free pomme frites, which were really good. Also had mussels and regular Pomme frites, all delicious. I'm disappointing that it took me this long to finally eat there!

Carlos and Josh were amazing. We were having some food and drinks before a concert and the place was getting really busy and our party was hard to keep track of as we were scattered around 3 spots at the bar. Carlos took excellent care of us aces Josh somehow made time between all the drinks he was making to come say hello and bring us a couple of special beverages. The burger was on point as always-one of the best burgers in the city. The salmon carpaccio was so flavorful it melted in my mouth. Josh's expresso martini lived up to the hype.

I've been for both brunch and dinner, and overall it was just average. The space is nice, but the food didn't really stand out either time.

I came here for dinner and then came back a couple days later to try their bakery. The dinner was absolutely delicious. I had the coq au vin and my sister had the burger. the coq au vin was done perfectly! Chicken had a nice crisp and sauce had a great flavor. Id definitely recommend ordering this. Her burger was so juicy and the cheese perfectly melted. It was craveable! We started with the crab beignet appetizer. It was so tasty and a perfect shareable appetizer. The cocktails were also fantastic . We had the butterfly effect, an espresso martini, and the l'astre sauvage. Each cocktail was refreshing and had a wonderful flavor. Id highly recommend coming here for cocktails with your friends. To end, we had the chocolate pot de creme. Omg was that delicious and silky. You definitely need to end your night with their dessert. Bakey was good but bananas foster latte didn't taste much like banana. Non the less it was still a tasty iced coffee. Croissant ham and gruyere sandwich was delicious. Their Choco zucchini muffin was so melty and chocolatey. The bakery is perfect for a little weekend morning. Overall id definitely recommend this place and will be back. Also, the elegant ambiance cannot be beat and the wait staff was top notch.

If you're feeling bougie and ready to drop a dime, Boulon is the spot. This is my go-to when I'm craving king crab, caviar, and an upscale night out. The space is stunning and always buzzing with energy, especially around the bar--which is impressively large. The bartenders are friendly and quick. It's definitely one of Tampa's trendier dining scenes, perfect for a chic night out or a special occasion. And don't skip the charming bakery next door--it serves up great coffee and pastries that bring a little taste of France right to Water Street.

I don't know if they take reservations here. I came just before opening and was seated immediately upon them opening. Blue crab beignets are a must here!!! LOOVVEE. Shrimp po boy was good and perfect. The dish comes with their house made chips. Such a good meal. I love the service here!! They also have a cafe are if you want to pick up coffee or pasties to go.

I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it was mediocre for me. Here is what I thought: Ambiance: Amazing, the place is absolutely gorgeous on the inside. This is the one thing I loved most about Boulon. It was clean, open and tastefully designed. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Always important when going to a restaurant. Service: Service was good. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable. Food service was fast and tentative. Food: This is where I have to bump down my rating. We came here for brunch. First, we both wanted to order a nice coffee for a drink and was surprised when they had no specialty coffee menu. The only offerings were for any basic coffee drink with some syrup. For such a high end place I was shocked by that. If I wanted a speciality coffee drink I had to go to the bakery. That part just didn't make sense to me. We both ended up ordering a regular cappuccino. My mug came with a very obvious lip stick mark on it, so I had to ask for a new drink. I also noticed a table next to us point out a hair on their entree plate. Service can be more thorough on checking the plates before they go out. For an appetizer, we tried their "famous" 'Blue Crab Beignet'. I had high expectations because our waiter was boasting about it. It reminded me of a crab cake. It didn't really remind of a truly authentic beignet. It had good flavor, but it wasn't what we pictured in our minds. For entrees, my fiancé got their 'Brioche Crab Cake Egg Benedict'. He enjoyed his dish and said it was flavorful. I ordered their 'Croque Madame' the portion was HUGE, enough for two people. If I were to change it, I'd make the bread portion smaller with a larger side salad. It was heavy and I could barely finish half of it. It did have good flavor. Overall, the food was ok, I was expecting a lot more for what I've heard about Boulon. Also for a higher end restaurant, the plating could've been more upscale/picturesque. The atmosphere felt elevated yet welcoming -- stylish décor, a lively but not overwhelming noise level. The drinks we tried were balanced, creative, and thoughtfully crafted. The quality of the food, drinks, and experience was great.

This place looks like 1000 bucks. Great spot to come for a first date, to grab drinks. For us however, the occasion was a bit different. We had just eloped. We got married and came over here to celebrate with some drinks. The couple next to us were very kind, and kind of picked up on the fact that we had just gotten married, they treated us to drinks to celebrate us. The kindness of strangers. We had a couple of cocktails, and eventually got hungry. We decided to try the tartare with chips. Such a simple dish, but packed with so much flavor. We both enjoyed it quite a bit. We will be coming back here. Who knows, maybe it'll become a spot that we hit up during our anniversary each year.

Spent the night at the bar as we were a large party and had no reservations and planned to bar hop! The place is stunning, the bartender kept up with our orders ans the food, everything was delicious!

Didn't really knock my socks off I had the crab eggs Benedict with creole hollandaise but it wasn't creole at all I don't taste any spice that you usually get from creole seasoning the bacon was just plain bacon nothing spectacular the best thing was the burlesque martini. Service was iffy the server was snarky when asked to split the check

Typically, I have great service at Boulon but this week, it wasn't so great and that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The outside patio is such a vibe and is worth trying to get a seat at (if it's not smoldering hot out). The scallops were amazing. Cooked to perfection. The sear on the outside was done beautifully. I also ordered the burlesque martini, which was well balanced and tasty. I tried escargot for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The blue crab beignets are the absolutely star of the menu. Order that appetizer! You won't regret it. I would definitely recommend Boulon, just not on a busy night.

I was finally able to check out this restaurant. Today, my friend and I decided to dine here for lunch. The restaurant is located in the Water Street area. There was plenty of street parking in the area as well as Cumberland parking garage that was near by. The restaurants ambience was amazing. So when you walk in, it's very beautiful like a French bistro the tables had white tablecloths, and the seats were wicker. The service was amazing. Our waiter was so tentative and polite. For an appetizer, I order the escargot and then for my lunch, I had the shrimp po-boy, my friend had the muscles and together for a dessert we had bread pudding. I would totally recommend this place for a lunch date night,or group dinner. There was plenty of bar space available as well if you decide to dine alone.

Great addition to the downtown food scene. One of the best French Dip sandwiches I've ever had.

Boulon Brasserie and Bakery is a modern French-American restaurant in downtown Water Street. It is a vibrant restaurant with its Parisian interior decor. Make an online reservation via Open Table several days before your desired date. Boulon can get crowded during the weekends and after events at the Amalie Arena. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The parking is either street or garage, and the valet is available sometimes. As you enter the front entrance, the hostess is immediately in front, and the bar is behind her/him. There are numerous tables (20+) throughout the dining area. There are about 14 bar seats, and this area is packed on weekends. FOOD: 1. Blue Crab Beignets (3/5): Five beignet pieces are shareable between 2-3 people. It has a good ratio of blue crab meat within them. I would try other appetizers before ordering this again. 2. Steak Tartare (Garlic Aioli, Capers, Fines Herbes; 4/5): This was delicious. Simple and tasty. I wish there were more served in it. 3. Le Burger (Smash Patties, American Cheese, Red Onion, Thousand Island, Pomme Frites; 5/5): This burger is delicious with red onion and Thousand Island sauce. It is quite juicy with flavor in each bite. It is within the top ten burgers I've tried. 4. Scallop Risotto (Parsley-Vadouvan Pistou, Gruyére Brown Butter Crumble; 3/5): Overall, the risotto was the star of this dish, as it also has a bare touch of curry incorporated. The three scallops were slightly overcooked. 5. Snapper Amandine (Brown Butter, Almond Chili Crunch, Haricots Verts; 4/5): The snapper was delicious, especially in the sauce. I loved the extra almond theme with the almond chili crunch. It has great flavors, and I would order this again. The service was OK, as the servers took ~20 minutes before someone came to the table to introduce herself/himself and provide menus and water. The servers and bartenders are amiable otherwise. Would I come back? Yes. I've been back a few times.

Sidewalk Patio: Perfect Sunday evening dinner at Boulon sidewalk patio after laying by the rooftop condo pool in downtown Tampa all afternoon. Absolutely stunning & so romantic ambience especially at night walking by (will have to come back for that experience). I love the espresso martini here, got it with tequila. The French onion soup was spot on & not salty (had on 5/4/2025). Got the hanger steak medium. The service is exceptional & very attentive. Parking is very limited to mainly street parking. I parked at my friend's condo parking garage a block away.

Boulon is a restaurant in the overly hyped area of Water Street in Tampa. Chock full of "trendy" this and "trendy" that, Water Street grew as fast as Jacks Beanstalk! Boulon is a lovely offering among the restaurants in the area. While we have eaten here previously and the food was decent but not memorable, this trip was strictly for the cocktails. Saturdays as you would expect are rather busy. But we hopped right up to the bar with no issues. We were greeted at first by a nice young man- not overly friendly but nice enough who asked us what we were having. 2 of us knew and 2 of us weren't quite sure- so off he went to make the two that had their collective sh*t together a cocktail. Cue another server this time a lovely and rather engaging young lady to take our other drink orders - she was great. Talkative and what is expected from a bartender- connection! We ordered and were very happy with our Espresso Martini's, a Burlesque Martini and 2 other fruity drinks that were made with Monkey 47- but because the cocktail menu online isn't updated I cannot remember the name- Lolol- but it was tasty! We each had two cocktails- enjoyed the ambiance for the afternoon as we celebrated a friend's Birthday and then headed off for another cocktail or two to Predalina down the way! All in all a lovely time at the Boulon bar!

Great atmosphere, delicious food and great service. We all got different dishes and they were all good. Great espresso martini.

This is a beautiful place for brunch, but do not expect a smooth experience. I had reservations for a late brunch. One of the kids dining with us had food allergies, and the hostess acknowledged that when I checked in, which was nice. We waited 30 minutes to be seated. I get that brunch is leisurely, but 30 minutes is a long time to wait for a table when I show up on time for my reservation. We sat down. No physical kids menus are available. I had to check online. After 5 minutes of sitting and not being treated by a server, I flagged down the lady who seated us, and she said the server would be by soon. It took 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. I get that brunch gets busy. But I eat out a lot, and usually a server will at least zoom by, say hi, and apologize that he/she is running late. Not ignore us for 15 minutes. We were ready with our orders when our waitress did show up. We ordered and asked that the kitchen expedite the order as we hadn't expected a 45 minute delay in service and had afternoon plans. She agreed to accommodate. While the hostess mentioned my son's friend's food allergies, the server didn't mention it at all. I thought that was weird. The drinks came out quickly. So did the food. Once we ordered, we were served and finished our meal and paid the bill within 45 minutes. I just wish that we were seated earlier and received more professional service from our server. The food was not great for the price. My husband thought his burger was fine. My kids got the fried shrimp, and my husband liked it, but the kids didn't. I tried a French fry, and it was not crispy and over-salted. I had the frisee salad, and it was sooooo salty. I couldn't eat half. The croutons were good. The gardens were okay. The egg was nicely runny but cold. But the vinegarette rendered the lettuce inedible. I can't say that I will return.

Beautiful restaurant and ambiance however the food flavors are lacking. Unfortunately was disappointed in the lack of flavor and seasoning in the food. We ordered the scallops with risotto and the steak frites. Scallops though plump left much to desire with the risotto having no flavor at all, lacking salt, etc. Steak was cooked well and was albeit somewhat better than the scallops dish however still--lacked flavor to be expected at a restaurant like Boulon with French influence. Frites as shown were on the soggy side. Nonetheless service was good. Drinks were great and perhaps made up for the lack of taste in the food but would love to see necessary improvements in the food.

What a cute place for brunch! I haven't gone here for dinner or a regular lunch but I came here on a Saturday late morning and sat outside. It was a beautiful day so the weather was nice and not too hot. They have large umbrellas for shade luckily. The staff was attentive and nice. The service can be a bit slow but I didn't mind because I wasn't on a time crunch but if you were, then I would skip this place. The food was on the pricer side but so delicious! I highly recommend the crab cake Benedict. Very tasty! I thought it wouldn't be enough food but l left very satisfied without being too full. It was just the right amount of food for brunch. I didn't get any drinks but they looked really good!

This is a new hot spot in Tampa, and I am living for it! Water Street has changed so much in the past 2 years, and I absolutely love what the city has done with the prime location. Boulon is a nice, classy restaurant nestled into the hustle and bustle of Downtown Tampa. I went with 3 other friends to catch up over a nice dinner. I ordered the chicken entrée, and it was delicious! I ate every bite. It does have mushrooms though, so be aware. We also split the crème brulee for dessert! The service was very nice and attentive. I would definitely come back!

Decided to meet a friend for a great dinner and we decided on a great Boulon Brasserie. The Yelp reviews prompted our decision. We were served by Alex who was so nice, accommodating, and well versed in the menu. He suggested some things and I decided on the legendary smash burger. It was amazing!! I opted for the cauliflower as a side and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant was posh, but also casual. We enjoyed the fine dining experience but didn't feel too stuffy and pretentious. We will be back!

Everybody knows about Bouillon as a great nightlife spot (which is true). Good vibes, yummy drinks, etc. But it's my favorite spot in Tampa for a long lunch. Their lunch menu is to die for and the staff is amazing. You must try the French Dip and Lobster Bisque.

This was our fourth stop on our coffee crawl and we chose to have brunch. I had made reservations and they seated us pretty quickly! Our server was extremely personable and super attentive! The interior was beautiful! I had the Boulon breakfast and the potatoes were some of the best I've had!! My friend loved the French toast! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back!!
