"A modern brasserie extended by a shady terrace, where you can enjoy classics that have been given a new spin by Franck Putelat's former sous-chef. House pâté en croûte, beef tartare, vol-au-vent or cassoulet… Rustic, wholesome fare throbbing with flavour. Book ahead to be sure of a table." - Michelin Inspector

Went here for dinner. It was recemmended to us. Food was excellent (menu is quite extensive), wine gorgeous & staff extremely friendly. We booked a table - it was a Monday evening & the restaurant was pretty full.

Incredible, incredible food. We licked our plates clean, and I may have teared up a little at the pork ngl. Friendly service, we made eachother laugh. And a very classic, timeless, passionate atmosphere that cared about the little details. 100% recommend. Carcassone has some great food but this was a highlight for us. Pictured is everything off the set menu - soup, egg, tuna, pork, chocolat and fruit. Soup, pork and fruit were our favourites. Beautiful, evolving flavours. Emphatically recommend

Average mass assembled dishes. The escalivada was a mush of bell peppers with anchovies topped with rocket leaves on soggy bread, all heaped on a wooden board that has seen better days. For main, the ribs were dry, salty and covered with some tasteless glazing served with cold French fries, and a poorly prepared ketchup. The quantities in the plates are not for the faint of heart and probably used to justify the prices. Service was cordial and atmosphere was relaxed. Not a place to visit again.

Service and food were great. Little more upscale and more pricey but still okay for the location. Big selection of wines. The cassoulet was also very tasty

Had the beef with mushrooms. My husband had Escargot. For dessert we had Pavlova. Service was very good and efficient. Our server was helpful when we were ordering.

Very nice dining in Carcassonne, stopped for lunch, highly recommend using the Chef’s Choice menu of the day. My wife had the Cassoulet - which was also very good.

5 out of 5 to the staff, environment, and food. I had one of the best risottos in my life. The fish was very well cooked and soft. The risotto tasted all ingredients and the rice, just AMAZING. Highly recommend. Be sure to book it in advance!!!

Yelp
No idea why this has a high rating. - the service is abominable. We waited 45 min for our entrees, and then they didn't give us silverware for another 5 minutes - the dishes are terrible. Lamb shank had a sickeningly sweet sauce with lots of fruit and undercooked chickpeas. Cold veal slices with some fluffy mustard. - overpriced There are so many lovely places to eat in Carcassonne. This isn't one of them.

Yelp
Fabulous! A general rule of thumb is to avoid restaurants on the tourist strip and to seek out places where the locals eat and we certainly chose well on this occasion. All three of us had the same dish: the sea bass with asparagus and a side order of spinach. Bread and water were brought to us and no charge was made for these wonderful additions. The bass was broiled perfectly and the accompanying sauce featured chopped vegetables, perfect for the asparagus (both green and white). Everything, we all agreed, was superb. The waiter was a delight, the ambiance decidedly local with a wonderful addition of some recruits from the parachute regiment stationed across the road. The waiter made time to chat with us and proudly shared that the chef, his boss, was a Michelin rated chef. This restaurant is a hidden gem.

Yelp
Enjoy the hidden hand of Franck Putelat in a casual indoor outdoor setting just outside the wall of Carcassonne's Bastide de Saint Louis. A five minute walk from the center square or parking just below. We tried the risotto at least three times during a recent trip. It was really good. They have a fixed price menu for lunch with daily recommendations on the blackboard. They also stay open late, where you will be graciously received for your last stop "aperitif"

Yelp
I am giving 4 and my wife 5 so we average to 4.5. 31 menu for a taste of fall. Plus a 17 euro for a nice rose to go with the meal. The house wine has the restaurant name on the label. Nice touch. The pumpkin soup was very good. It had chunks of pumpkin and chestnuts. Also some fois gras. Very tasty. The duck was two 5 inch by 3/4 by 1 inch perfectly cooked prices. The plate also had cut rutabaga on top of a rutabaga purée , a small corn soufflé with a red wine reduction on the side. Also the dots of a mild horse radish like sauce. All of this was well cooked and presented nicely. The blueberry tart had a 5 inch by 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch almond flour pastry boat filled with smallish blueberry dense filling. Not very sweet but easy to eat. One spoon of blueberry sherbet and one spoon of a dense whipped cream, which was scooped at the table so you could ask for more. Very good and a nice size. Service was good but not outstanding. We would eat here again.
