Quaint, laid-back cafe making sandwiches, tacos, salads & classic cookies with local ingredients.
"Brasserie by C&C’s menu looks a little like a potluck—tacos, pasta, croquettes, and pork belly crispy rice. But unlike your last office potluck, this spot actually has good food. The French onion soup is rich and cheesy, the short rib pappardelle is al dente, and the foie gras croquettes have a crispy chicharron crust. The space matches the menu—an eclectic mix of mirrors, a tangram-esque chicken mural, and golden bars dividing the dining space that might make it feel like you’re eating in a birdcage. It might feel a little chaotic, but since there aren’t many nice sit-down places in the area, it’s great if you want a more upscale experience." - adrian kane, john ringor
"Brasserie C&C, a tasting menu restaurant in Edgewater, Chicago, offers a refined atmosphere with a pop-culture-themed menu inspired by the FX series 'The Bear'. The restaurant, founded by Brad Newman and Jesse Lee, features dishes like oysters Rockefeller, short rib agnolotti, and The Minty Snickers. The venue aims to attract diners to a low-traffic area, reflecting the struggles and experiences of independent restaurateurs." - Naomi Waxman
"Chef Brad Newman and the team at Brasserie by C&C will celebrate Season 2 of hit series The Bear with a special four-course prix fixe menu inspired by their favorite episodes." - Naomi Waxman
"Brasserie by C&C’s menu reads a little bit like a potluck—tacos, pasta, croquettes, and pork belly crispy rice. But unlike your last office potluck, the food at this upscale Edgewater spot is actually good. The French onion soup is rich and cheesy without being too salty, the short rib pappardelle has al dente pasta, and the foie gras croquettes have a fantastic chicharron crust. The space is also a hodge-podge mix of artwork and design, but that ends up being a bit less charming than the eclectic menu. One wall is full of mirrors, another has a tangram-esque mural of a chicken, and there are golden bars dividing the dining space, making it feel like you’re trapped in a bird cage (especially when the staff hands off drinks through them). But there aren’t too many upscale places in the area, so it’s great if you want to break the Ubereats streak and aren’t too bothered by the quirky atmosphere." - John Ringor
