I went to Mon Chou Chou twice in one week, since I was only in San Antonio for a few days. The first visit, I was so mesmerized by the food and all the amazing flavors I did not even think of taking pictures!
Here is a summary of both visits:
* Monday dinner - was very intimate, not too busy, quiet with just a hint of French music playing. My friend and I wanted to make the most of it, so we ordered a few things to share: charcuterie plate (highly recommend), Ravioles Gratinee (to die for), the mushroom risotto (was a bit soupy for my taste, but good), and then a bunch of sides: green beans, fries, lentils and cauliflower gratin - all absolutely delicious!
I was full, so no dessert for me, but my friend got the Creme Brûlée and said it was amazing!
*Wednesday dinner: completely different ambiance! It was popping and loud, full of people clearly enjoying themselves and their food!
My group was quite unfamiliar with French food, so I suggested a few things to start. Assiette de fromages (7 different cheeses), served with baguette and French butter! Everyone enjoyed it, and personally I was in Heaven!
Then for the meals, 3 got the duck, 2 got the fish, 1 got the Braised Beef cheeks and I got the chicken Cordon Bleu! We also got a few sides to share.
My dish was delightful and transported me back home after just the first bite! Fries were perfection again.
I had to skip on dessert because I was too full, but the few who got some really enjoyed it!
Definitely worth adding to your list of restaurants to try if you have not done so already.
Additional Note: I know one of the chefs and he is one of the best!
