Food is always great. Their Chebe is delicious. Unlike other restuarants they also give you the crunchy part of the rice that's on the bottom (my favorite). Also a huge fan of their pentade (fried fowl), well seasoned. Staff is very kind, food is good. Ate it before I could take a picture

I bought dibi Athieké unfortunately I could not continue eating the dibi was very poorly cooked there was no chili and since then I have a little stomachache. Try to improve your kitchen thank you for the good understanding

I ordered Ceebu Jen for $14.00. Although this dish was great, I’ve definitely had better Ceebu Jen. The rice wasn’t as flavorful as the Ceebu Jen I’ve had in the past, and the fish was cold. My favorite part of the dish was the yam. It tasted so good! The re-warmed cabbage on the side was hard to eat. I enjoyed getting some crispy rice on the side for crunchiness! I waited a little less than 20 minutes for my meal. If I ever order again, I’ll order takeout since I didn’t enjoy the slightly strong fish smell of the restaurant. And again, the fish tasted amazing even with its cold temperature.

I absolutely love their food. The portions match the price. In all the African restaurants that I have had, this is the best so far. Could use a system/order when ordering though. Also, the menu items are offered in accordance to time. For example if you like Dibi meat I think they start serving it from 5pm so be sure to call ahead to ask what's available. Whatever they have, it will be great

Great and Rich Taste Best option to go with at evening is 1) Grill Fish with rice or salad 2) Dbee ( Grill Lamb ) with rice or salad

Delicious food and huge portions - the Ceebu is especially photogenic. Came here for lunch with the kids after a visit to the nearby parks. The experience is unique - the only menu is a piece of paper taped to the wall with no descriptions or translations, so you have to reply on the patrons and staff to figure out what you want. Also, since the focus is on the kitchen, there really isn't much front-of-house staff so you might have to go in the back at times if you need assistance lol. Would definitely come back!

Terrible service. It’s a horrible experience dealing with the cashier (Fatou I think her name is). She shouts at customers for no reason and has zero patience. The food isn’t fresh all the time. I bought 5 shawarmas via Grubhub and all of them had leftover, dried French fries.

I am flabbergasted at some of these reviews. This spot is the business ! It's 100% authentic and has some of the best mafe (peanut butter stew) in the city. The thieb jen is great but I prefer the red one. I don't 100% love the fish they use though. I also want to clear up some confusion. Sometimes people say thiebu jen and jollof rice is the same but it's not 100% the same. Thiebu Jen literally means "rice + fish" . They serve the white Thiebu Jen here which doesn't have tomatoes like jollof rice does. Thiebu Jen or Thiebu ginaar (rice + chicken) are some of my favorites. They also have yassa ginaar which is chicken with caramelized onions. I recommend trying all! The soupe konja is really good as well and is made out of okra, fish, meat, and palm oil. Although I love soupe konja I would recommend that one to someone who has tried other Senegalese dishes before. I'm also curious as to if they are Senegalese or Gambian. I think some of the chefs are from Guinea Conakry .

They take credit card which unusually for west african food spots. If you get the "419" lingo, then you'd understand why it's a shocker. RED FLAG #1: Their prices are "subject to change without notice", so their menu is pointless. I went in and ordered the $9 plate of ceebu yapp (Rice and chicken) and it turned out to be $10. No biggie but bait and switch, no matter the price = uncool. RED FLAG #2: You cannot see the food as its being served onto your plate/ take-out container and the servers are quick to wrap your food into a dark black bag. I guess they hope you discover any issues by the time you've headed home... RED FLAG #3 aka ULTIMATE RED FLAG. I get home...rice seems to taste decent. Not what I was expecting. I asked them for the equivalent of jollof rice..they said Ceebu. Yet the rice was brown and apparently fried. They gave me a huge half-chicken. Upon dicing it..i realize a good amount of it is UNCOOKED. Uncooked chicken, Nuff Said. Review = over.

Really delicious and authentic african restaurant. They all speak English the food always getting ready really quick and is on a very good price. This is zero complain tolerance facility. I ordered food for to go. At home I find out that the food I received wasn't what I wanted to. I try to call the restaurant and talk w someone at there native tongue. I spoke one time w somebody in English,ones with somebody in French and my phone number got blocked. I only asked for credit tho

The Food is on point 10/10 flavorful and tasty 10/10 for the price $ reasonable 10/10 for the service I highly recommend this Spot they have a good team in place Bravo!! I will be back for sure in the future

The food was ok. The cheb was undercooked. The fish had so much scales and the customer service over the phone was just horrible. They spoke as if I'm a child or they were home with a relative. They even hung up on me several times, I eventually got angry and asked why they kept hanging up the phone? And I was told: "sorry, it's too busy here!" Smh. Why does it always smell like all their rice is burnt? No matter what kind of dish I buy. The rice smelled like it was burnt.

If you want some GOOD African food you gotta get here. The prices are good for your pocket and the meal is like the African mom make it at home. You cant find alot like this place some in Harlem and Brooklyn but not alot. Its good Afreeekonnnn food. Try their food.

Yum! I had the grilled lamb and it was pretty tasty. The fish patties are just ok... I will come back to try out the Grilled Fish

This place does a brisk business, walk in and order at the counter. We had the lamb dibi and fried fish with couscous. Portions were huge and the food was delicious. Some of the sauces had some serious heat to them (in a good way), so you may want to order a milk to cut the fire. We will definitely be back. I'm curious to try all the dishes on the menu and thrilled to find another great restaurant in the neighborhood.

This was the worst restaurant experience when it come to African food! Not only was the dish urself tasteless with the sourbess to it but the sever was awful! She was very rude... Terruble... Less than 1,star servuce...

If you are hungry and looking to either try new food or just have some great food. I strongly suggest here. I came here with me husband and we could barely get through our food, because it was so much. It was my first time having Senegalese food and now I'm in love. I will choose this over Ethiopian and Nigerian food for now it's that good. I just wish they open a spot in Brooklyn.

I love this place. Whenever I'm in the Bronx I have to stop by. The guys that work the counter are always so nice to me and my friend. My must haves are the shawarma, lamb and jollof, fish and attieke. They're open pretty late too

I am a fan of Senegalese food so when I asked a local cabbie for good african eats in the area he pointed me here and gave me a menu. Senegalese cuisine near me will save me crosstown trips to Harlem. When I arrived it wasn't to busy so we got seated and got served fast. A record for Senegalese grub. I got a whole red snapper with couscous and a bottle of bissap. The food came out fast and the bissap was nice and sweet. The Fish was fried thoroughly and crispy and the onions and couscous were to my liking. Its another solid addition to the cuisine of the Bronx. In the diverse Soundview /westchester ave area. The Fataya was also good and always a great opener ( its similar to empanada). Portions were huge so we had to take half home. Be sure to just order an entree it will certainly be enough. Grab the 6 Train to elder and walk south...

The only African restaurant in the BX that take credit card. Great fish & opened till really late. Theres alao african market right next door. The ownes real cool. Good job Alpha
