This was me and my boyfriend's second time at Bridget Foy's! We really wanted to love this place, but it fell short- again. My boyfriend and I went in for a happy hour and got seated right away (shout out to the hosts- they were hilarious). The first time we went to Bridget Foy's we saw a chalk sign for Happy Hour above the bar that had $7 burgers- what a steal! Hell yeah! So naturally, my boyfriend and I came back to try the $7 burger at Happy Hour. Little did we know it was an outdated chalk sign. When we ordered the burger, the waitress came back to us a few minutes later and asked if we ordered a veggie burger and we said "no, the burger on the menu above the bar!". She sighed and said it was an outdated sign but "OK" we can have the burgers, we said "thank you!". The burgers that came out were the most sad burgers we've seen. The patties themselves were a little bigger than a slider burger and it came with lettuce, tomato, and a nice bun. It was extremely mid. Under-seasoned. $7 for basically one slider? In this economy- I get it. But I wish she just told us it wasn't on the menu. I will say- the fries were DELICIOUS though! So, TLDR, I wish the waitress just told us the burger wasn't on the happy hour menu and didn't semi-ignore us or give us attitude after the burgers got delivered to the table. The fries were delicious, the hosts were awesome and funny, the vibes were great, and the decorations/style of this restaurant is stunning. Maybe happy hour just wasn't our vibe? Maybe a simple redirection would have been fine instead of a petty semi-slider burger?

We happened to come across Bridget Foy's while discovering the historic area of Philadelphia. Many places were quiet but the buzz from Bridget Foy's drew us in. It happened to be Trivia night and it was busy. A table was found for us and we dived into delicious food. The staff were friendly, the patrons were all having a good time and I would definitely recommend it for a Philadelphia experience.

It was our first time out with our 3 month old and the host could not have been more accommodating with our stroller and setting us up at a table that gave plenty of space. Other employees were also so friendly coming over to say hi, making the experience so much less stressful than I anticipated. The food was good, but the atmosphere was what will make me always recommend it, especially to other new parents.

The cheese curds were really good and so was the Mac n’ cheese- It was a little spicy and had a great flavor!

I wish I could give 10 stars. My partner and I got married on a Saturday and were planning a relatively informal brunch on Sunday for friends still in town. We called to see if there would be space for a group of 15 people, and somehow they were able to get us a table in 2 hours. Our group arrived, and people that we didn't expect to come showed up so we grew to a group of 22. We felt so bad, but everyone was so accommodating. They could have told us "no" but they made it work. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, but it was the service that blew us away. Special shout out to Bridget and Mackenzie who saved our day. We'll definitely be back, but just as a part of 2. :)

My wife and I were excited to try Bridget Foy’s during our visit to PA, especially after hearing about their $30 all-you-can-eat pasta deal. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. The only thing we enjoyed was the wine — it was smooth and actually quite good. But the pasta? Absolutely terrible. One dish, a spaghetti with basil and pesto, tasted like clay and left a bitter, unpleasant aftertaste. My wife couldn’t even swallow it — she spit it into a napkin. I barely touched it after one taste. The other pasta options weren’t any better — one was way too salty, and the rest were bland, flavorless, and overall disappointing. To make things worse, the staff didn’t even attempt to accommodate us or offer an apology. We barely touched the food, clearly expressed our dissatisfaction, and still received no effort to make things right. We came to PA hoping for a cozy pasta night and left feeling nauseous and frustrated. The pasta wasn’t edible, and the service lacked any empathy. Definitely not worth $30 — or even a single bite. We do not recommend Bridget Foy’s, especially if you’re coming for the pasta. P.S. The pasta tasted like it came out of a can — and it wasn’t even hot. It was barely lukewarm. That alone says everything.

Lovely place inside and it's very cozy. Food was delicious. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Food was served promptly and nice and hot. Definitely will go back!

Google
Showed up during lunch rush on Memorial Day and it was very frantic and understaffed. My girl and I ended up moving from the dining area to the bar because our first server was rude and all over the place. Rita was amazing in the bar area. Food was 7.5/10. We had the breakfast special. The pancakes and sausage links were fire. Rita’s charred pineapple margaritas were on point. I’d go back because of how nice she was but they definitely need help.

Yelp
All you can eat pasta night!!!!!!! The pasta variety is exceptional, the quality is top notch (homemade, like their sister restaurant Cry Baby), and the service staff was so fun and supportive of our gastronomical quest. The value cannot be beat. The bolognese was my favorite, I got three portions. The portions were perfect for AYCE, and they get smaller as you order more which was appreciated as someone with no self control.

Yelp
Recently visited Bridget Foy's with friends after hearing about their All You Can Eat Pasta night on Mondays. Our server was wonderful and suggested we all start with ordering a plate of each pasta to share with the table and then later reordering our favorites. Orders came out quickly, and the servers were very attentive. The food itself was not bad, and we really enjoyed the Lamb Bolognese, Pesto, Spicy Crab pasta, and everyone agreed the bread was phenomenal. Started with a Caesar salad, which was also great and the house salad surprised us with how flavorful it was. Being aware that this was going to be an All You Can Eat service, I wasn't expecting everything to be my favorite. You can't blame the service or kitchen, with the fact that they're making plates upon plates of pasta throughout the night for each table. This wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, but I also understand the demand and wanting to have guests try some of each dish. Some of the plates definitely needed more salt/seasoning, but for $30/person and a couple of drinks, it was still a wonderful time! The general ambiance of the restaurant is somewhere between a sports bar & a family-style Italian restaurant & lively New American place. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Bridget Foy's and would definitely come back on a night we're craving lots of carbs!

Yelp
Sat on the outside porch during beautiful weather. Noticed Quinta Brunson & her husband walking by. Apparently she was in town to speak at the Temple University commencement. Had the chicken enchiladas & a glass of pinot grigio for a quick bite. The chicken was gamey, not shredded, I should have gone to one of the Mexican restaurants in the area if I really wanted a good enchilada. Took a pic of my meal but not Quinta.

Yelp
We last minute made brunch reservations at Bridget Foy's since they had ample openings and was a convenient spot for us and our friends. Located right in Headhouse Square, this restaurant is easy to get to on foot or bike and is in a really cute area. The space is pretty large, so it's not surprising that there were a lot of open reservations. We were one of the first ones to arrive after they opened their doors, and we were promptly seated. For the first 30 mins to 1 hour that we were there, there was very little other foot traffic ... but by the time our meal was done, the place had filled up a bit. Their brunch menu is large enough to provide variety but not too long to be overwhelming. I eyed up their selection of Benedicts, opting for the Florentine with spinach and creme fraiche. The Benedicts standardly come with breakfast potatoes, but I appreciated that I had the option to swap them for a salad (not a breakfast potato gal). The entree itself was good - the sauce wasn't drowning the dish, and the spinach was nicely seasoned. The eggs were perfectly poached, but I could taste a touch of vinegar on them. They were atop a standard English muffin, which served its purpose, but could have been more exciting (perhaps a biscuit or focaccia...). The salad was light and crisp, but it was a bit drowning in oil / vinegar. At $16, the serving was solid for the price. The coffee that I paired with my meal was decent but not the best I've had. My dining partners all enjoyed their meals too, sharing similar sentiments that the food was decent and they selected well. I would visit Bridget Foy's again for a different meal or their pasta parties! Definitely appreciate the ease of making a last minute res, so recommend them for anyone looking to take a larger group out for a nice meal!

Yelp
One of those reviews that's been a long time in the making! Long before I ever entered for a bite to eat, I enjoyed stopping by Bridget Foy's for years during South Street Festivals, admired the vibrant outdoor seating it had, and told myself that I would pay it a proper visit one day. But being the slacker that I can be, it never happened, and then a fire made it look like it never would! But this neighborhood institution had its justified community support, so much so that a major fire didn't leave them down and out. And, even though they ended up re-opening during a global pandemic, they somehow managed to come back better than ever and even added a second restaurant destination in Cry Baby Pasta (https://www.yelp.com/biz/cry-baby-pasta-philadelphia) With it literally being reborn from a fire like a phoenix, and still maintaining a strong community following on a street that has had so much influence on my life, I really needed to go. So when I went to my most recent TLA show I saw an opportunity to finally go beforehand, and it proved to be well worth the wait. When I entered the first thing I noticed was the impressive artwork hanging on every wall. The second thing I noticed was how friendly and spot-on the staff were with their suggestions. From letting us know that we could add any protein we wanted to our pasta dish, to making incredible drink and appetizer suggestions, to cracking hilarious jokes at the expense of the 3rd person we were waiting for as they were super attentive during it, they were super helpful throughout. The menu rotates so often and I'm such a slacker to the point that I couldn't even begin to fully identify what I had by looking at it online. But everything was reasonably priced and delicious, and the cocktail menu was filled with plenty of classics that felt modern. The best bet for me entree-wise was definitely the fresh pasta, even more so when I was able to add crab to an amazing vegetable pasta. With a vibrant rotating menu that covers beyond the basics,, a good selection of beers and wine to go with the cocktails, and a great-sounding brunch menu, there's plenty of reasons to pay a visit to this classic!

Yelp
One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. I have been here multiple times and tried other things but it always comes back to the veggie burger. I appreciate that, in these times with imitation meat and 'impossible' burgers, that there is a place that still creates veggie burgers made of actual vegetables. I would highly recommend. Also, the crab hush puppies are amazing. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to anybody looking for a good solid place to eat.

Yelp
I ordered the Guinness stew today for St. Patrick's Day and it was fantastic. The staff here is friendly and their new space is open and bright.

Yelp
Overall amazing experience from beginning to end, the staff is phenomenal, and the food a delight...even got a chance to chat with the owner. When I come back to Philly I'll definitely visit again.

Yelp
Restaurant Week Fall 2023 20th Anniv. is starting tomorrow, but I would be remised if I did talk about their 'It's a Shore Thing' Menu(3 course w/beverage $40). My sister & I had a chance to dine on a Thursday late afternoon. It was cooling off so It was great to sit outside along the facade of the building. The renovation through out are sharp & homey at the same time. The service is always pleasant. Great team work. Now the meal; Our drink of choose was the Frozen Prickly Pear Margarita- refreshing & nice flow of flavor & libation through out! Our Starters were Streamed Mussels(red sauce) & Melon & Prosciutto- The Mussels were accompany with a crostino bread & were delicious. Mild sauce that brought the mussels a live in every bite. The Melon & Prosciutto-AMAZING. The burst of flavors mingling together in every bite. I took a chance & I was sooo glad I did. It was all that!! We both had the Lobster Roll. It was our Goodbye to Summer. So Good, I mean, REALLY good(and we just got back for MV). I will say, the if the chips were dusted(lightly-maybe with a lemon Cajun seasoning) with something that would have made the dish complete. They added a dessert that was not listed, Their Key Lime Pie. Baby!!!! This have NEVER been my dessert(why there is no picture-lol), but my sister loves it & it was for two. One of the Best Desserts I have had in my LIFE. EVERYTHING about was amazing from the the spectacular buttery crust to the perfectly toasted top. It wasn't until our last bite did I realize I did not take a picture(except in my mind). This restaurant is as old as me. And like me, even in their dark seasons they find themselves on top.

Yelp
Love this place. Everything about this restaurant is a win. The food is amazing! The happy hour is one of the best in the city is you want a incredible burger for 7 bucks! I always get the East Philly Burger. You can sit in the bar table tops and enjoy happy hour. The staff and owners are welcoming and very attentive.

Yelp
We went when they had the Valentine's day menu which allowed us to try three courses. I am not a big salad guy but that Apple Salad was delicious! I kept telling everyone at the table how good it was. Next we had the braised short rib, mashed potatoes and carrots. It was not on the regular menu but should be! They are generous on the portion of short rib and it was amazing. I don't even like carrots but here I did. I ate them all...For desert we had the cheesecake which was good. The drinks were all well made.

Yelp
This was my first time checking out Bridget Foy's after it was rebuilt. We had been wanting to go for awhile and finally made it happen. We picked a day which was not too hot and headed over. When we arrived we went inside to find the host to request an outdoor seat. The interior was stylish and very sleek. The old build had charm but with the renovation it definitely made it more sophisticated looking. After a few minutes we were promptly seated. Looking at the menu I noticed that there were many options for various dietary restrictions. Also there was a wide variety of types of food and beverages. Additionally with Bridget Foy's being under the same ownership as Cry Baby, there were a few pasta options on the menu. I opted to try the peach bruschetta and my companion picked a burger. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The fries with the burger were fresh from the fryer and still steaming. My companion enjoyed their burger and I enjoyed my bruschetta. The only critique I had was wishing the bread had not been charred so much. It was not a big deal, I just ate around it. However, I hope that this can be remedied in the future since it seems like an easy tweak. The place was packed and our server did a great job checking in on us periodically. We did have a little bit of a delay when we ordered another round of drinks where our server forgot about them. But they did arrive with an apology from our server. There was ample lighting and it was fun to people watch on South Street. Things to know: -WiFi available -indoor/ outdoor seating options along with an indoor/outdoor bar -credit cards accepted -reservations can be made by calling the restaurant directly -customers can order takeout online for pickup -dinner hours only on weekdays -on weekends brunch is served both Saturday and Sunday In conclusion, a star was deducted for the burnt bruschetta and the forgotten round of drinks but these seem to be easy fixes to remedy. With numerous options opening up in the city, it is hard to decide on which ones warrant another visit. Bridget Roy's definitely made that list and we hope to try going for brunch next time.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
French onion burrata was AMAZING but the mac & cheese was a 6/10 at best. Pretty disappointing as it looked really good but lacked much flavor.

Yelp
Ordered takeout. We had the mussels and a burger. The mussels were so delicious and it comes with this awesome grilled bread for dipping. My friend said the burger tasted as good as it looked.

Yelp
Great spot in the neighborhood. I've had brunch and dinner and both have been great. The staff has always been friendly and the food is delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating available depending on the weather. Basically American fare food (burgers etc) with a great drink list as well!

Yelp
I've been here for brunch and dessert and both times it was a great experience. The food is delicious, the drinks are fun, and the service is on point. I'll definitely be back again.

Yelp
Went for happy hour on a Friday only to find out they were not doing it due to cinco de mayo In addition, the prices in the menu were deceiving for drinks They added an extra percentage calling it a tax Not sure I'd go back

Yelp
So I took advantage of some new promotion south street is trying to do on Thursday. One of the participating restaurants is this one. Grab a burger get a free beer on tap, mocktail wine on tap. I bought their east Philly burger. The waitress asked if medium was good. ABSOLUTELY. The wine on tap was a Cab. Yum! The place is super cute and cozy. The waitress and the bartender were chill and it really felt like the average neighborhood bar. But upscale. And I loved it. Burger was yummy. I asked for salt for my fries but truly I didn't need it. I'm definitely going to go back.

Yelp
Our Christmas Dinner in the city! The two hostesses were both kind and friendly. Our server, Mike was funny and attentive. Food all arrived quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. The honeycrisp apple salad and crab hush puppies were both absolutely delicious. Salmon with mushroom risotto was perfect for an entree and we were stuffed! The dessert menu looked great, but we were too full. The hostess was kind enough to take our photo in front of the restaurant while we were leaving. An overall A+ experience!

Yelp
I'm just now getting to write/update my review of this restaurant. I've come to be a regular here,as I have realized there are other regular customers. This is because the atmosphere, the food is delicious. The specials which I tend to get are spot on.I made it known to the chef who came out to the bar and I had to let him know how delicious the selections were. This is a really fun place for all ages and the menu will appease anyone. I'd like to thank the wait staff who are all so nice, friendly and very efficient. The bartenders are just the best,Donny,Neil,Rachel and all the bartenders really make you feel welcome. Thank you John Bernadette and Bridget, for maintaining such a wonderful establishment!

Yelp
So, I'm only giving 4 stars because the service was really good. The food however was not. We ate there tonight for St. Patrick's Day and my moms birthday. My daughter ordered off the regular menu and maybe that's what we all should have done. Her food was delicious, she got the tomato soup with cheese dippers? The rest of us ordered off the "special" menu and it was pretty disappointing. The Corned Beef and Cabbage was bland and the cabbage was more like sauerkraut and there were no carrots! The potatoes were also bland and for $24 a plate, I'd like flavor. On the other hand, the beef stew was so salty it was nearly inedible. The service was fantastic though and my mom was brought a piece of cake with a candle so that was nice. Lastly, the drink options were minimal and basic.

Yelp
This was such a pleasant experience. Friendly staff, delicious food, romantic ambiance. Wonderful way to celebrate our 27th anniversary!

Yelp
Been there many times and the food and service is always exceptional. A cross between restaurant and bar food, but leans towards decent restaurant food.

Yelp
Had a great meal at Bridget Foy's last weekend. The service was good, and from the muscles with the delicious white sauce, to the flavorful jambalaya, to the chocolate chip cookie skillet, the food was excellent. Glad to see this place up and running again and definitely ranks as one of the better restaurants in the neighborhood.

Marissa C.

Yelp
Really good restaurant week lunch here. Apple salad was really tasty. Grain bowl was good but a bit smaller than I expected. Amazed they could split the check 8 ways!

Yelp
3.5. It was nice day and we were initially supposed to go to another restaurant but the wait was too long. We happened upon Bridget Foys along our stroll and decided to dine there. We got the cheeseburger Royale on a seeded roll. It was pretty good along with the side salad. The service was good after being waited on, however it was a bit sketchy at first as we waited a good while before being waited on. Overall, it went without a hitch.

Yelp
This place is known for good food and atmosphere, which is what we got. We sat outside and the table was wobbly, they had something that could even it out so that was great. I have to be honest and say there was a hair in my dessert. We were torn as to whether we should say something. The waiter was super busy and I had already eaten all of it but one spoonful... Outside of that, it was nice.

Ken E.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. We eat here frequently and are never disappointed. Love the outdoor seating in the good weather.

Yelp
After a godawful visit to Crybaby everyone told me I HAAAAAD to try Bridget Foy's, owned by the titular same woman. So I went in a week or so ago in the late afternoon to dine outside. The food was fine. Pretty much what I was expecting at the price point. I'd bump it up to 4 stars except the service was terrible. The person who seated me was also my server - or was he? I don't really know because he kind of took my order and then disappeared never to return. I had to keep asking a random lady if she could help me with things, like getting silverware or a refill on my drink, and she finally admitted to me that not only was she not MY server, she wasn't even *A* server at all. Then somehow a third person, a different guy, ended up bringing out my check. So it just became this whole musical chairs. On top of that there was a white lady who kept circulating to people's tables checking on how they were doing - I presume this was the manager - yet for some reason she never stopped in to check on me, or else I would have told her. Anyway. I don't feel deeply compelled to return, but it could've been worse.

Yelp
I had visited Bridget foys before the fire. I had your signature burger. I thought it was so good I was telling people as they walked by. Today was my first time back since the reopening. Your burger did not disappoint. We sat outside and we had a very nice waitress and our service was excellent. She was engaging and catered to our needs. I will be back Linda from Downingtown

Yelp
Stopped there for a bite and cocktails. Beautiful redo after fire gutted it. Went back for Sunday brunch. Sat under heat lamps on rainy day and very comfortable. Food was good as were the bloody Mary's. Got to support local establishments!

Yelp
Just a regular american food restaurant. Food, location, and atmosphere was just about okay. Not much else to say here.

Yelp
The restaurant is so cool and pretty. Outdoor patio is a big plus, too. We visited for lunch mid week. A+ service. C- food. My order of chicken fingers was disappointing. Thick tasteless coating. Really surprisingly mediocre.

Yelp
After having the Grain bowl twice over the summer and loving it, I was super excited tonight to order it as a part of my pre-marathon meal prep and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I had to call the restaurant to confirm that they got my order since I didn't receive an email or text notification letting me know that my order was received or ready. I am willing to give them business passed since they were using a third-party app. I asked the manager if my fries were cold if I could bring them back and he said no big deal he'll make me another batch. Zac quickly got me my fries and I got home and dug into them. When I opened up my grain bowl to dig into it, I noticed that the salad dressing was in the side, so I dumped everything into a larger bowl so that I could mix-in my dressing. When I dumped the contents of my to-go container into a larger bowl I noticed that lettuce had started to go bad. See attached pictures. When I called Zac to let him know about the crappy lettuce he was extremely rude and didn't even offer an apology for the kitchen putting out bad food. Someone please re-train Zac, because with an attitude like that he probably should be working with the public.

Yelp
Not much to choose from on the menu but the Crispy Chicken sandwich was delicious! My daughter had the Jerk Chicken dinner with Cold Slaw and Rice, which was very tasty! She loved it! Great hospitality! I will be returning!

Yelp
Quirky little spot perfect for a nightcap or happy hour with friends. We often stop here for a final drink of the night after eating nearby and it never disappoints. Food is really good too! Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great. Love this place

Yelp
I am so excited for Bridget foys to be back up and running! I decided to come here for dinner with a girlfriend on Valentine's Day and after the long awaited reopening of this restaurant we were beyond impressed with the food, ambiance and service. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. We also tried the brussels sprouts, vegetarian lasagna and banana pudding. The banana pudding is a must to finish your meal here! Everything was equally delicious and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Stopped by for a sunny outdoor lunch with my toddler! She got a gourmet spread of avocado, pear, and cheese slices. They were quick to serve us and so sweet! And the red lentil soup was spectacular. We had a lovely time.

Yelp
Totally satisfied with this place. A bonus is they were open for Christmas Day dinner, making it so my fiancé and I were able to go after family had to cancel from potential Covid. Our waiter had about 10 full tables and was amazingly kind and attentive. The rest of the staff were on top of everything as well. The food was awesome. Definitely a staple for the neighborhood.
