"We’re pretty sure that if you break Brigadiers down into ingredients, it goes something like this: three parts excellent Indian food, two parts Thierry Henry oil portraits, and 20 parts unfiltered fun. We’re talking a pool room, card games, and live sport on demand. And if that isn’t enough to get you to this City spot, then let us introduce you to the superb lamb chops too. Sibling restaurant Ambassadors Clubhouse, in central, is a great shout too." - rianne shlebak
"When we want to feel like we’re at a party with really good food, we come to Brigadiers. Every room in this maze of an Indian restaurant in the City is full of red leather, polished mahogany, and gold detail. After eating some of the best tandoori lamb chops in London and getting messy with the BBQ butter chicken wings, you’ll peek into a private dining room with TV screens playing the football on your way to the toilet. Then you’ll find yourself in the pool room and realise this is the most fun you’ve ever had in a restaurant. If you want something similar in central, try Ambassadors Clubhouse." - rianne shlebak
"Butter chicken wings, 40” plasmas, and oil paintings of legendary footballers. Brigadiers is the only place where you’re going to find all three. And even if you’re not looking for any of these things, you should still be coming to this City restaurant. Not because of the pool table or the whisky vending machine either, but because it’s one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. Even if you watch your team lose, you can’t lose at Brigadiers. Not with lamb chops this good." - jake missing
"The booths at City spot Brigadiers hate to see us coming. Mainly because they know we’ll never leave. Dreamt up by somebody who understands the food coma-inducing effects of a hulking achari beef short rib, the cushioned seats are sleek but micro-nap-ready all at the same time. Which makes sense because this Indian restaurant's menu—all sizzling tandoori lamb chops, chilli cheese naans, and rich butter masalas—encourages lingering." - sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley
"If the combination of the words ‘butter’, ‘chicken’, and ‘wings’ interest you, as well as ‘whisky’, ‘vending’, and ‘machine’, let us introduce you to Brigadiers. The Indian barbecue restaurant in the heart of the City is a straight-up good time filled with superb bone marrow biriyani, beef short rib, and life-affirming lamb chops. Watch the football at the bar and retire to the pool room afterwards. Or sit in a mahogany-clad booth and crack into the espresso martinis on tap." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager, sinead cranna
