There are very, very few places in London with this type of value for money, specially for a restaurant near Oxford Street. We ate like kings including a Sangría 1L jug for less than £30 per person and basque cheesecake as dessert. If you don't drink alcohol and just want to have a main, then its going to be much cheaper.
The star of the menu is a massive Tortilla omelette which for two people works less than £10 per person. Filling, simple, delicious. As a Spaniard, the actual gooey runny consistency is exactly as you would have in the traditional cafeterias in Spain. Just a slight criticism is the flavour, at least for the classic one: not exactly as you'll find in Spain, which I guess results from over-caramelising the onions to make it palatable for the British crowd, and therefore it tastes more like an egg omelette with a very subtle onion taste. But I guess that's my opinion because I do miss a bit of the crunchiness of the onion which you do find in tortillas around Spain. So I will recommend going for the ones with the add-ons, like jamón or courgettes then you'll find it tastier.
Some people might also want to try the tapas selection. At first glance, since they only have 6 tapas to choose from, it may look short but omg, the things they have are cooked and prepared to perfection. César salad has actual grated manchego cheese and home made croutons and toasted garlic, which gives it a very distinct Spanish taste. Then you have the coliflower which is filling, and cooked perfectly.
We also had the "chorizo" bikini sandwich which it's tasty and delicious. Just to note that it's not really made with chorizo , but with sobrasada, so people who don't like chorizo might be surprised they actually adore it. Sobrasada, which is different from chorizo, is a really soft, spread paste made with streaky bacon, pork loin and spices. It works perfectly for a bread sandwich since its milder than chorizo. I guess they've added that label for people to understand it, as outside of Spain sobrasada it's not as popular as chorizo.
Small details like lamps in the restaurant have European plugs also made me smile, so owners have put a lot of love in the restaurant.
You also should try the dips and sauces with your tortilla. For £1 extra you get delicious Ali olí and bravas sauce which goes perfectly.
As dessert, I highly recommend the burnt basque cheesecake which is simple but baked absolutely perfectly with exact taste that you'll find in Bilbao.
10/10, would go again.
