"Brick-oven pizzeria Pizza Moto is out on the edge of Carroll Gardens and Red Hook. The restaurant, which started as a mobile pizza operation, landed this permanent storefront almost a decade ago, replacing a location of Papa Johns. Its bubbly, wood-fired pies had a following, including at the New York Times, which handed the pizzeria a single star in a 2016 review. The last day was February 19." - Luke Fortney

"Brooklyn Pizza Market is, most likely, the only pizza place on Earth that’s equal parts New York Jets and Star Wars-themed. This is a tiny spot on Smith Street, and they make pizzas with names like Gang Green and C3PO. They do both square and round pizzas here, and you can customize either kind with upscale toppings like fontina, prosciutto, and sopressata. It’s a great pickup or delivery option, and it’s perfect for when you need a quick slice or some garlic knots handed to you by a person in a Jets hat. photo credit: Alex Staniloff" - Bryan Kim

Google
I love the grandma pie slices, the dough is tasty and the toppings just right. The thin crust pizza is fine, but less memorable. The meatballs have great flavor and the large portion is amazing value. Service is quick, though the slices are sometimes not warm enough.

Google
The person behind the counter was nice and very helpful. Food was great! I love their Sicilian slices. I got two for me and my coworker who work across the street. Very reasonably priced for the amazing quality of their food.

Google
The food was presented nicely in its box. Guy behind the counter was really nice. Crust was nice, thin, and cooked right. It's better than some expensive pizza places I've been to recently.

Google
Pizza is really good actually. No bathroom. Make sure you get napkins yourself if doing take out.

Google
After 17 YEARS in BK I FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT GRANDMA SLICE!!! A beautiful little pizza cracker, sauce with just a little kick, not too much cheese, a touch of basil and olive oil. I can't, it's so good.

Jason R. Best

Google
I had the Grandma slice and it's now in my top ten list out of 100 pizza places I've tried in the USA. This guy, the owner and pizza maker knows his stuff. Keep it up. Folks should visit here at least once in a lifetime.

WKUK B

Google
I was drunk and enjoyed my pepperoni slice but all my other friends didn’t like it so I’m factoring that into my review especially cause I was the one drinking. I thought it was good though regardless.

Google
Were recommended by a local, and the pizza was pretty good! It was unfortunately pretty cooled down by the time we received it via delivery.

Yelp
The pizza is greasy but good. There are always vegetarian options. The garlic knots are not; they're huge and cheap and the bread is tasty, but some of them have no garlic. Even the garlicky ones don't really do it for me. That said, they're open late, you can order to dine in or to go, and they're fast. Cash only. No restroom. Tiny place.

Yelp
Rated solely on food this place would be a 4. The slices here are nothing to write home about nor a destination food spot - but they are certifiably solid and a classic New York slice. People behind the counter are super friendly. It's a small counter spot, but they did set up some tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your pizza. Bonus points for also having a retro video game machine you can play why you wait! However, the reason this place gets an easy 5 stars for me is just because they are open late. In this neighborhood, the options for late night/post-bar bites are a bit lacking, so BPM has saved me on many a night from drunken munchies.

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
Brooklyn Pizza Market has a great pie. I think their two best pies are margarita & Nutella/marshmallow. Their dessert pizza is absolutely incredible. They are expensive for my taste! But definitely worth while.

Matt D.

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews, but I called at 1:10 a.m. a man answered the phone said "Brooklyn pizza market" and I said "hey are you guys still open?" And he said "would I pick up the phone if we were closed?" And then hung up on me. I tried calling back to make sure it was cool to order still but my call was ignored twice. My girlfriend loves ordering from here because their gluten free crust is really good. I understand this might be my fault for not knowing their operating hours, but the Slice app, Uber eats, and google all have differing information as far as hours go. I just didn't expect the awkward hostility from whomever was on the other end of the line.

Yelp
Ended our night with slices at Brooklyn Pizza Market. A pretty decent late night option for pizza. Quality: Brooklyn Pizza Market was made for the drunk pizza crowd. A thicker slice, which can help soak up alcohol, but not sacrificing all quality. I found the slice a bit sweet for my taste, and I tend to trend in that direction, so it is definitely sweet. On this evening I had two Margherita Slices, which looked best in the window. Quantity: Large and hefty pizza slice. Value: $4-$6 for a Pizza Slice. Ambiance: Brooklyn Pizza Market is located along Smith Street right on the edge of Gowanus. It is a slice shop open until the early morning. The inside area is just for ordering, and they have a few tables outside. It is designed for take-out. Crowd: Expect a line at night, as it is a place that keeps late hours. Service: They keep the line moving. Parking: Some parking in the area at night.

Arielle D.

Yelp
Small take out pizza joint in Brooklyn with a decent pie. The pizza was just okay-- the meat pizza was a bit salty and the buffalo chicken pizza was very spicy. I was very disappointed with the pizza here since the presentation was pristine. The pizza looks and smells great but the final product isn't impressive. Maybe I should have ordered a regular slice and I would have had a better experience.

Sasha S.

Yelp
Our pizza did not come despite taking our money. their number is disconnected so we could not even contact them. never ever buying from them again

Kaley R.

Yelp
PTL for good (and quick!!) pizza delivery during this time where so many businesses are closed. This place is unassuming when you walk by and would be a little easy to miss if it weren't for the fact that you can smell the pizza as it drifts out their open window wall on the front of the store. Even pre-Covid times, this place had limited seating so it's always been more of a grab and go type place. They're doing delivery and takeout now and delivery was SO quick. The buffalo chicken pizza is spot on. The perfect blue cheese/fontina to buffalo sauce ratio, and a nice addition of peppers and mozzarella. The crust is decently thick and it's crispy on the outside, how it should be. I'm a huge fan and am so happy they're still open right now! Highly recommend.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Wow, used to love this place as their pizza was good but now it is apparently run by the rudest man in the world. Ordered a pizza almost 2 hours before they were schedule to close, after more than an hour of waiting I am told by a Door dash person that they came to pick up my order and it was cancelled without warning. When I called to ask why, they hung up on me. And when I went to the restaurant (because it is on my block) they pushed me out saying there were closed with no explanation. Hideous customer service has now emerged from what used to be a lovely neighborhood place.

Amanda R.

Yelp
My friends and I wandered in here while exploring Brooklyn and ended up ordering a bunch of Margherita slices even though we had just eaten. It is a cute little to-go pizza shop that was just what we needed at the time. I enjoyed the pop culture references on the menu and around the shop. The pizza was thin and tasty. Great for a grab 'n' go slice, but not ideal if you're looking for a pizza place to set up shop for a while.

Peter D.

Yelp
This may be the city that never sleeps, but nobody told Smith Street. If you're looking to eat something that isn't diner/bodega food after midnight around here, you didn't have any options before Brooklyn Pizza Market moved in. But they're here now, which is wonderful because I also happen to have the baby that never sleeps, and BPM delivers to me. Beyond being open late, the pizza is really solid. It seems like they specialize in specialty slices (Don't Go Bacon My Heart!), rather than plain pies like Caruso (the other slice joint up the street). The pepperoni studded Sicilian is excellent (and my go-to). At its best, it's almost as good as the famed Spicy Spring over at Prince Street (high praise), and they often have an olive/onion grandma pie combination that I'm into, although the grandma crust can sometimes be overdone to the point of painful crunch (as opposed to crisp). All in all, we should all be happy they're here, especially when you need a late night bite.

Omer G.

Yelp
Looking at the beautiful pizzas in the window, I had high hopes. But unfortunately, high expectations lead to disappointments. The dough was undercooked/unbaked, which is the core of your pizza, no matter the cheese, the sauce, nor the toppings.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Love this place! Been coming here for years. It was really nice with the extra outdoor seating, plenty of space between tables. Margarita pizza is always a personal favorite but the meat toppings and ricotta are a happy addition too. Would definitely recommend

Hannah M.

Yelp
I happen to really like this spot despite some mixed reviews. I think the pizza is incredible - the crust has the perfect brushing of olive oil, the sauce is great (which any true pizza lover knows is the make-or-break component), and the cheese is a great blend. With that said, it's definitely a somewhat unusual pie. It's a little lighter than most pies, in my opinion, in that it tastes a little heathlier/fresher. I don't feel gross after eating it like I do some pies, but that sort of super-fresh tomato and basil taste might not be for everyone. Garlic knots are massive and pretty tasty. I also LOVE how this place stays open so fricken late. Assuming Google is correct, it's open until 1 am on weekdays, 2 am on Thursdays, and 4 am on Fri-Sat. Factor in how good it is and it might be my favorite late night joint in the whole city, especially in this area, where you don't have a ton of spots staying open past midnight. They also take cards with no minimum, which is huge for a non-cash carrier like myself. Taking away a star for a couple of reasons, the first being the complete lack of seating in the place. There's a counter with a true couple of stools, but it's definitely a take-out place. Secondly, frequently I've gone in and the pizza hasn't been super fresh. I know this is realistically more a reflection of circumstance (i.e. I don't think there's a huge market for pizza in Carroll Gardens at midnight on a Tuesday) but it is minimally frustrating. They do a good job of warming up your slices here, but it's just not the same. All in all, will definitely return. Love this spot - wish they had seating, though!

Adi M.

Yelp
Stopped by here late night after a couple of drinks and oh my GOOOODDDDDDD was this the most delicious pizza ever. I ordered a Margherita style slice. The crust was focaccia like, maybe baked first and had the ingredients placed on top after the initial cooking. Super crunchy and fresh ingredients used. Opened late night with a bunch of yummy options :)

Jan P.

Yelp
Even in the rain, even in a pandemic, the Sicilian crust is amazing. Light and super crunchy and flavorful. I can't get it out of my mind. Just had a Sicilian slice with pepperoni and I could eat this stuff all day!!!

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
Great spot in Cobble Hill. Easy to walk passed, but the smell lures you in. Took a couple of slices home and they were a hit. The cheese blend and basil leaves give the pizza a wonderful taste. Definately not lacking cheese. Crust is nice, has good crisp and chew which i like.

Yelp
I ordered delivery last night during that constant craving for pizza that happens at least 4-5x a week. I wanted to try pizza market and was impressed ! The pizzas flavor is by far really really good they incorporate two cheeses which really elevated it! It's a standard NYC slice taken up like 10 notches. I ordered the large which was RELALY BIG for two people. I think two people can easily share a medium! I had the original and was able to add ricotta to one half even though it wasn't listed by putting it in the comment box. They were able to accommodate it by calling me and adjusting the total. The pizza was great, though I wish it came warmer! By the time we got it it was border lining that barely warm cold Mark, but we both said the flavor had the potential for greatness and we want to eat there and try it when it's hot! I think if you go there and eat it it's probably amazing, next time I'll possibly ask if it could be delivered warmer , but I'm DEFINITELY ORDERING AGAIN! Great pizza! Ordering through yelp made the order process really easily, food took like 45 min to come as estimated!

Alyssa P.

Yelp
I tried a few pizza places in my neighborhood before coming here. Some did weird things with their crust, some were way overpriced for the size of the pizza - I just wanted a good, flavorful pizza. And I definitely found that here. The first thing that caught my eye was the names of their pizzas. If somewhere has a pizza named after Star Wars/Trek, I am THERE. The first pizza I tried was the C-3PO, a classic pepperoni. The crust was cooked well but wasn't burnt, the cheese was all over, and the flavor was great. The second was Beef Me Up Scotty, similar to the first but with more meat. Even better. My most recent pizza was The Great White Buffalo. While I do wish there had been a bit more chicken on it, the flavors meshed wonderfully together, and the crust held it all up. Picking up a pizza here after work once a week has now become a weekly routine. Highly recommend!

Daniel D.

Yelp
Late night delivery was really great. Good pizza and nice crust. Good the delivery was quick and ordering was easy.

Al C.

Yelp
Great slice, service was super friendly, seating outside, quality ingredients. What else could you want?

Nicole W.

Yelp
Hands-down my favorite pizza in this part of Brooklyn. Fast service, always reliable, always delicious. Hole in the wall, so not really for sitting with a large group, but great for eating solo or with someone.

Rachel W.

Yelp
Ordered online on a Friday at midnight and pizza came hot 15 minutes later (I'm 2 blocks away). By my estimate, that's just enough time to make a pizza and walk over so that seems legit to me. Got a basic pepperoni pie since that's my benchmark for most places. Wasn't too salty, sauce was fine, crust was thin and had good texture. (-0.5 for it getting a little tough as it got cold, but I mean it's a cheap pizza place so that's kind of expected) The poor reviews seem to happen after the first encounter so we'll see how it holds up, but from this first time I'm all here for this.

Meri K.

Yelp
I have no idea about the physical appearance or location of this place, but they get only one star in my book, based on the 2 times I tried to order delivery from there! First off. The first time I tried to order, approximately 45 minutes into waiting for the delivery, I received a message that they had to inexplicably cancel the order. This is just poor customer service, unprofessional, and does not reflect well on the delivery partner app that they are partnered with either! Try 2: on time, but their time frame was at least 90 minutes. Small menu, but Ordered a grandma pie, meatball side, and garlic knots. The food was soooo friggin salty it was practically inedible! This is coming from me- a "salt lover". I'm the girl who will sit with her Italian food, and use what I like to think of as "Italian salt" (grated Parmesan cheese), and just keep pouring it on---wouldn't even think!! Especially the pizza and the meatballs. The garlic knots were fine, but possibly the largest I've ever seen- picture garlicy hamburger rolls, lol. I ordered late nite (my food arrived around 1:20am). Maybe it's fine if you were crawling out of one of the local bars and didn't know any better, or super stoned, but bad reppin of BK pizza IMO.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Did take out here after drinking at a couple of the bars next door. Got 8 different slices and then the garlic knots. The meat slice I had was awesome

Anna G.

Yelp
Got into town on a late flight and this was one of the few spots still open for dinner in the neighborhood. Pleasantly surprised by their delicious gluten free pizza! So good!

Adam L.

Yelp
Woof. Let's be blunt shall we? It was bad. Ordered two grandma slices and a slice with ham and artichoke. I like a nice thin, crispy slice. But when you burn thin crust pizza that is not good. The grandma slices were just bricks. Cheese was absolutely flavorless. Sauce was nice. The ham and artichoke slice was also disappointing. The toppings had obviously been thrown on at the end. While one of the saving graces of the grandma slices was the sauce there was barely any sauce on this slice. Won't be ordering from there again.

Jiimy S.

Yelp
Mediocre pie, garbage customer service experience The order was wrong (toppings were missing but they still charged me for it) and they acted like I was trying to steal toppings from them... These clowns don't even make a great pie. It was salty, the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar, and the cheese was clearly low fat... This is the city of pizza and on Smith Street alone if you go further down there are better choices run by people who are actually from the neighborhood and give a damn about customers Go anywhere but here, this place is garbage.

renje g.

Yelp
4 stars for being open late Pizza is tasty Its not like your regular pizza chain although its out if the way, its worth the detour

Mei C.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my thin crust, crispy pizza. Place is small with only two stool chairs and a small ledge table near the window. On a good day customers would eat their slices at the outside bench. Pizza toppings are a bit more than unique than the typical pizzerias. Ordered a Pancetta slice and a mushroom slice. Both came out hot, thin and crispy. Pancetta pizza was really salty as expected while the mushroom slice balanced it all out. There is minimal service since it's just order at the counter and go. I took my sweet time sitting at the window and enjoying each bite.

Emily D.

Yelp
Walked past and couldn't resist the smell of dough & cheese! It's a tiny spot with a few barstools at the window. I ordered the Pepperoni Sicilian & a Margherita slice. Both delicious. If I ordered a 3rd slice, I would have either tried another specialty slice OR another Margherita - that plain slice was spot-on. I'd say it's good Brooklyn pizza, but more of a thin crust/brick oven vibe (not actually sure about the specs of the oven), not your classic Brooklyn pizzeria. That's not a criticism though. I'd definitely go back for more.

Taryn S.

Yelp
This spot has incredible customer service! I had some issues with online ordering, and when I went to cancel the manager called and ensured me that my pizza was on its way. Not only did I get an extremely helpful experience, the gluten free margarita pie was the best I've had in Brooklyn! This is my new go-to pizza place!

Connie H.

Yelp
In a competition of cheap pizza eats on Smith St, this one wins. Caruso Pizza is closer to the subway and has more variety, but the pizza here is just better. The few choices they do offer are of higher quality. $2.75/cheese or $3.50/grandma slices. They accept credit card, open till about 2am, and have a cute little spot close to Union Street. BPM is new to the area so I am excited to see what becomes of them in the future! :)

Kenny C.

Yelp
Pizza cravings know no bounds, so I'm glad the 24/7 Brooklyn Pizza Market is finally open! They do slices, pies, and some other oddities like a Smores Pizza and the biggest garlic knots you've ever seen. Their pizza names are puns or otherwise cultural references. They have pies named after Stars, both Wars and Trek. Their grandma slices are thin and from what my friends said, delicious. I needed something more substantial, so I went with a Sicilian slice topped with pepperoni. The crust was airy, crispy, and held up to the one hand eating test. They also have a whole thing of pickled peppers by the door for you to throw on top of your slices, which is nice. There's free water available. But it's in the form of a Brita pitcher. And the cups are the tiny ones you get at the doctor. I've read some rumors that the guys behind South Brooklyn Pizza are also responsible for Brooklyn Pizza Market, and based on the quality, I believe it (prices are actually cheaper here). In any case, I'm glad a new business has finally moved into what was previously Dassara ramen.

Patrick W.

Yelp
Brooklyn Pizza Mart is a neighborhood pizza place, I thought it would be okay, I've heard good feedback from friends. The guy working front of house couldn't be bothered from putting his phone down to listen to my order. I tried 3 times to get his attention, but his phone was more important. I don't have an issue with an overworked person having a bad day, I get it, but I do have an issue with a selfish, rude, entitled IDIOT who isn't PRESENT. That's not what they are paying you to do. It smells great when you're walking by, but it's a sh* tty operation. Keep walking.

Jess P.

Yelp
Everyone once in a while, nearby pizza joints stop delivering to my neighborhood, so I hunt around on yelp for an alternative. Usually it's the same old mediocre options, but once in a while a new place pops up with positive reviews from people I know and trust. That's how Brooklyn Pizza Market entered my life. I went with the consensus and ordered a grandma pie. It's square, with a crisp crust, fantastic chunky tomato sauce, fresh basil, and generous amounts of mozzarella and Parm. It's delicious and arrived hot. And the price is reasonable. Delivery was faster than expected and very friendly. Will definitely order from here again or stop in for a slice.

Ian T.

Yelp
I just happened to wander past this place late one night when I was starving. That first slice was enough to make me a customer for life and everything I've had since was even better.

Seabreeze X.

Yelp
I was in NY visiting family and decided to place an order. Customer service was extremely disrespectful. I ordered delivery, never received a call, had to contact them and they tell me delivery person can't find the location we'll call you back. Never got a callback, and when I call for a status update, I get told I have to wait for the delivery person to come back after making other deliveries. Then ask very bluntly if I want to cancel my order? That's how you treat customers? So I'm supposed to get cold, wet pizza! Been waiting for over 1 hour and 30 minutes. No apology, no respect

Vanessa N.

Yelp
This place is open so late on the weekends. Perfect if you're out late, drinking on Smith St. and get hungry. Their margharita pizza is my favorite.

Saxon B.

Yelp
What a welcomed addition to this neighborhood! The pizza is affordable, filling and delicious. However, I'm leaving out the best part: the joint is open until 4AM ALL WEEK. Smart move for a pizza joint sandwiched between a couple of late night watering holes. Now you can say no more to the sketchy bodega sandwich at 3am and just get can a killer slice here that won't leave you on the porcelain throne all the next morning.

Shu Jin S.

Yelp
If I were just reviewing the first time we ordered delivery, it would be a five star review. The pizza crust was perfectly baked, the garlic rolls had the great garlic to bread ratio, and it really hit the spot after getting off an international flight. We were so thankful to find someone delivering so late. We thought, at the time, that we had found our new delivery option for pizza. Then we ordered from them again. The second time around? The pizza was completely undercooked - the bottom was visibly raw, and the top was all grease. The garlic knots? Inedible. They were black, charred and ended up as "dinner" for our trashcan. We figured, that must have been a fluke, let's order again! While the garlic knots weren't burnt, they were stale, akin to rubber. The pizza was once again overly greasy and the dough completely raw. Not ideal!

Amanda C.

Yelp
1 star because: 2 slices of margarita pizza & 1 can of soda came out to $9! And when I got home which is one block away the pizza was literally cold. But I guess he didn't leave it in for long because the bottom crust was already burnt. Horrible lol.

Tushita P.

Yelp
I recently moved to the neighborhood and wanted to explore some of the food scene around here, and saw that this place has quite high ratings, so I took the opportunity to stop by and get a slice. I paid $4 for a grandma's square slice. Now, I like the crust - it was crispy and the pizza itself was full of flavor. The marinara sauce was great! But the bottom, unfortunately, was burned, so it wouldn't get more than a 3 stars from me. Not worth the $4 in my honest opinion. The ambience of the place is great, and there is free complimentary water as well, which I think is nice. I went in the afternoon on a Sunday and the streets were pretty dead, so I didn't expect a lot of choices for pizza and that came to be true.

Alicia C.

Yelp
Good tasting cheap pizza. Can't go wrong with a grandma $3.50 huge slice. Loaded with cheese, sauce and basil. The bottom and crust was very crunchy.

Jay V.

Yelp
We ordered a couple of pizzas and it took 2 hours to deliver. We called the place twice and on asking them, they kept cutting the call. Horrible pizza, horrible delivery, terrible management. Avoid the place at all costs.

Brian J.

Yelp
I've eaten from Brooklyn Pizza Market several times, the pizza has normally been good! However after ordering thru yelp/grub hub and the pizza NOT being delivered after over an 1 1/2 hours of waiting only to have the support staff tell me that the restaurant is now closed, I WILL NEVER order from them! TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!

Mike T.

Yelp
This is the only option after midnight, and I'm glad to have that option. They make a decent slice. However: the prices are out of line with the quality. This is pretty basic pizza. $4 for plain cheese. $6 for a lukewarm slice with about $0.08 of mushrooms and bell peppers thrown on top.

John G.

Yelp
I live 2 blocks up from here. Passed by on a day I had off and met Adam. Awesome guy that churns out these pizzas... oh man probably the best grandma slice I've had. You walk into this place and they have a small fridge filled with different cheeses and there's even real cheese wheels around the store. Not a lot of space to sit but this pizza is worth standing and even waiting for. I've ordered from BPM 4 times. Eating it as I type this review. Go get some now!

Casey L.

Yelp
This place is solid. They are open late, which is super convenient. They have mainly specialty slices, which makes their pricing a bit high to just 'grab a slice.' I'd say a quarter of the time I have had the pizza the bottom has been burned, sometimes to the point of being inedible. I do wish they just had classic slices. I'd say if you so go, check to make sure your slice is not burned before leaving. The sicilian pepperoni and anything you get with crumbled sausage is really yummy.
