I'm a first-time visitor to this place and I'm already looking forward to coming back so that I can try more of their amazing food! I had the lobster ravioli and it was absolutely delicious! Mike suggested the garlic cheese bread which was also very tasty. The only frustrating thing is that I couldn't finish everything on my plate!

I dined in at Bruno's Italian Restaurant last Tuesday February 13th and i had heard great things about it but I hadn't been there before. It's a very nice place inside and I was greeted immediately by the hostess and I sat at a table instead of the bar area. My waitress (who also one of the bartenders) came over and greeted me and asked what I would like to drink. I ordered water with lemon but I also wanted to order one martini so my waitress (I apologize I forgot her name) suggested their signature martini which is an espresso martini, so I ordered one of those and I ordered an appetizer eggplant parmesan and told her that I would look over the menu for my entree. There were several customers there and the bar area has a tv to watch sports shows. All the food I saw being served looked amazing and I asked a few tables near me how their food was and they all said "excellent". My drink arrived and I ordered the Pasta Carbonara for my entree. Okay the Espresso Martini was amazing! My appetizer arrived shortly afterwards and it was THE BEST I have had for so long (a few years ago in St. Louis "Hill" area is the only other place where it was this good), you have to try it. About 15 minutes later the Pasta Carbonara arrived and it looked and smelled amazing! Okay so what I said about the Eggplant Parmesan goes doubly for the Pasta Carbonara! It was the most delicious dish and perfectly prepared with balanced flavors and perfect seasoning. I am so looking forward to going back. Bruno's Italian Restaurant is located on South Street just south of Walnut Street. I urge everyone to visit because it is SO MUCH BETTER than other Italian restaurants in Springfield Mo. All these buildings downtown are old and elegant but it is a bit noisy inside but that's true of all the restaurants downtown. 10 stars for the food, service and 8 stars for the ambiance.

My original review is below. We frequent this restaurant quite a bit and usually enjoy it. We had bad service last night from Matt I think. He brought out the wrong appetizer, didn’t fix it and we didn’t eat it, but then still tried to charge it to us. We expect better from a place that’s usually classy. I had to drop my review by a star. We love this restaurant. The lobster ravioli is amazing. It has a unique atmosphere, which is great for romantic or just regular date nights. The cheese bread appetizer is a must have.

Stopped in here after a long day of travel. Mike and the remaining staff were very welcoming. Great recommendations that didn’t disappoint and he got our daughter’s food out quickly realizing she was hungry! We were worried we were a little too casual but they made us feel right at home. Great service and delicious food!

Getting to now enjoy lunch at Bruno’s makes for a great break in my work day. I met some friends, and we enjoyed the brick over pizza, which is a must try! A Caprese salad, the lunch special which was penne with a brandy cream sauce, talk about rich, and creamy! The Italian nachos were outstanding. Pasta chips loaded with Gorgonzola cream sauce, spicy giardinera, Kalamata olives, and Italian sausage! Either lunch or dinner, the atmosphere, service, and food are fantastic! Save room for dessert as well, housemade keylime pie was superb!

Loved the place! The atmosphere was almost perfect for a date. Acoustics made it a little hard to hear with even a half filled restaurant. The Caesar salad was the best I had! Enjoy some of the cheesy bread for an appetizer (just order 2). The entrees around the table were delicious and flavorful. At $20+ a plate, the portions were a little smaller than I had imagined they'd be. I only had 5 medium to large shrimp on my pasta and felt like I had to ration them. Jumbo woukd have felt generous. We all could have finished our plates if we weren't saving space for dessert. Get some dessert! Each bite was worth every penny. Salad, entree, and dessert will run you about $50. Service was outstanding and as soon as my drink hit the bottom it was refilled.

I must say that I was sorely disappointed with my last visit. I arrived at 7: 30 pm on a Friday and was seated at the bar while a table was being readied. I sat for 10 minutes and had no less than 4 different staff members at the bar and not ONE even acknowledged my presence at the bar. Additionally, there were the leavings of two other guests still sitting on the bar. After 15 minutes we were finally seated to our table. It was another 10 minutes that we sat before our server even acknowledged us at our table. We had seen her several times however she did not approach or acknowledge us at her table. Our order was made and bread and oil was brought out. It was another 15 minutes or so before we had to hail her and asked if our appetizer was on its way. It showed up about 20 minutes after its order, she had completely forgotten about it. When our food finally did arrive it was not brought out by our server but kitchen staff. The lobster bisque ravioli had obviously had been sitting for quite a while on the counter as it had a skin on the surface of the sauce and it was Stone Cold. The clam linguine tasted fine and did not smell off, however it was a long time for this food to arrive. We had to send back the lobster ravioli as it was cold and there was barely enough sauce on it and it was not fresh. The bill was corrected to reflect the food that was sent back however I was sorely disappointed in the level of the service and the quality of the food. I had last eaten there when Bruno was still running the restaurant and he ran a tight ship which is why I had chosen to dine here again. However, I will not make that mistake again. Excuses were made that they were short-staffed however that does not preclude a server from at least acknowledging that there are patrons sitting at their table. It costs nothing to drop a word and apologize for the wait in service but at least acknowledge your patrons who are seated at your table.

This place is beyond fantastic. Some of the freshest pasta I have had since being in Italy. I do patron a lot of great restaurants in Springfield area and this is by far one of the top ones. The carbonara actually has some of the best texture I’ve had in this area on top of that, They have some really great whiskey selections. There’s no way to go wrong with this place if you’re dining in.

Yelp
Located in downtown Springfield in a renovated wallpaper shop from the early 1900s. Bruno's is a very quaint, friendly, and relaxing place to enjoy a good meal with family, friends or co-workers. My husband and I had dinner here this past weekend and really enjoyed our experience. We started with cocktails. My husband had the Spiced Pear Old Fashioned. Which was delightful and smelled as good as it tasted. I enjoyed the Sicilian Cosmo which was very lovely and could be quite dangerous. We were also brought out warmed bread with oil and balsamic. For dinner we tried the SHRIMP DIAVOLA Linguine with Tomato Sauce, Onions, Roasted Garlic, Chili Oil & Shrimp And CHICKEN & PROSCIUTTO TORTELLINI Tortellini Filled with Chicken & Prosciutto, Served in a Black Truffle & Sage Cream Sauce Both of which were very good and the portion sizes were more than adequate. We recommend this lovely place and will be returning the next time we are back in Springfield.

Yelp
Another gem of a spot to put on your food list! Great family Italian restaurant in downtown Springfield! Food is fresh, full of flavors and good portion size! Price is a bit on the higher side but for the quality of food and the freshness it's 100% worth it! Service from Mike was excellent and friendly. Great atmosphere and not loud at all! Open kitchen so you can see the food being made. Greta bar selection as well! Will be back!

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant. Be sure to make reservations or sweet talk the hostess . Mike was our waiter tonight. Excellent service and very attentive. Actually laughed at my jokes, so he gets extra points! We had a pleasant bottle of wine, Troublemaker out of Paso Robles. That region has excellent reds. This was smooth and slightly fruity. Dinner was good. They stubbed their toe on the pasta, but immediately made up for it. The rabbit and the halibut was delicious. Nice delicate sauces enhanced the flavors instead of covering up the protein. Definitely a must do when visiting this cute little town. Btw, we stayed at The Moxy Hotel next door. Awesome rooftop jazz band. Perfect night.

Yelp
Their authentic menu sets the stage for a wonderful Italian meal in the heart of downtown Springfield. We were eager to try this place after reading such glowing reviews, and we left exceptionally satisfied. As soon as we sat down, we were served focaccia with a blend of Italian olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered two glasses of wine: a Chianti and a Chiarlo Barbera d'Asti. Since we wanted to try both the pasta and the pizza, we decided to share a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was amazing, with the perfect balance of dough and sauce. Their brick oven allows the pizza to be cooked authentically, as if we were in Italy, and adds an extra touch to the ambiance. With the pizza being so good, we expected no less of the pasta. My husband ordered the fettuccine alla Bolognese, and the ragù was so flavorful that he scooped up every bit and cleaned his plate with the last piece of focaccia! I ordered the daily special--penne with a white sauce (not Alfredo!), sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmigiano--which was absolutely delightful. The flavors blended perfectly. Although we were full, we saved room for dessert and ordered cannoli. The portion came with two, making it perfect for sharing. The way they whisk the ricotta gives it a delicate texture that tastes exceptional! Service was fast, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown Springfield, so we could easily walk back to our hotel. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience--a must-visit if you're in Springfield and craving authentic Italian food

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more stars, but I just can't based on our first and only visit. This was the most awkward, weird first try at a restaurant I've ever experienced. Made reservations for Feb. 15th for my birthday dinner. I wanted someplace kinda fancy, but it didn't have to be extraordinary. We have never been to Bruno's before and both of us have been wanting some good Italian food. I did a Google search for Italian and chose Bruno's based on the menu which isn't extensive, but had enough that I thought we'd give it a try. I made reservations through OpenTable for 5:15 pm. The interface had a place for notes or comments for the visit and I put that it was my birthday dinner. We arrived around 4:50 and checked in letting them know we knew we were early, no rush. Looking around there were only 3 tables seated so the whole place was basically dead. I mean it wasn't even 5 yet. It filled up slightly during our visit. The host mumbled through the notes saying, "oh it's your birthday. Well Happy Birthday." Nary another mention of that business. At that point the host let us know they were serving their "limited menu" for Valentine's Day which I found odd since it wasn't Valentine's Day. We opted to stay and order from the limited menu. In retrospect I wish we had just opted to leave and go somewhere else. We asked if we could be seated by the window - you know so we could have a romantic dinner and people watch sort of out of the way of the other tables. They didn't have a server for that area, but the bartender said he could care for us if we wanted to sit there. Righteous. (The bartender was the least awkward of the entire visit. Kudos to him. They should have him run the place.) The restaurant was basically empty when we arrived. There was a 4-top in a lovely spot directly in front of the window, but they crammed us into a 2-top with my back to the window. Lovely. The 4-top was never occupied while we were there. The "Limited Menu" consisted of 2 appetizers - Spinach Artichoke Dip and Stuffed Mushrooms - we ordered the mushrooms - there were 4 - $18, 4 entrees, and 2 dessert choices none of which was overtly Italian except Chicken Cacciatore. We were made aware that "someone ordered a ton of mashed potatoes sometime earlier" - what? - so even though everything was supposed to come with mash, they were subbing risotto for everything but the filet mignon. Right on. We both chose the Caesar Salad. My experience with this salad is that it is tossed with the dressing. The salads came to us with the dressing sort of squirted on top of the romaine lettuce. I mean we had to stir it up. Italian restaurant biffs a Caesar Salad?!? Ladies and gentlemen we are not off to a good start here. The hubbs ordered the filet mignon medium well which is utterly disrespectful of that cut and apparently the cook thought so as well since the filet that was delivered was medium rare as it should have been to begin with - to hell with his wants. Sometimes we let the cook decide. The filet looked like burnt ends when it was delivered with a slight tablespoon of mashed potatoes and one roasted carrot sliced into strips. - $45. Forty five bones. Maybe a couple more carrots? I ordered the Salmon Florentine. The portion size was great. The salmon was cooked well. The sauce was good - nothing to write home about. The spinach was delicious. The 3 whole asparagus were very tasty - could have done with a couple more, you know like 5 total maybe? The risotto was crunchy. I left most of it. An Italian restaurant that can't cook a decent risotto? Where am I? $38 for my dish. Thirty eight crunchy bones. As we were already in a little shock that we were facing the inevitable $100 price tag for a mostly awful and wholly unworthy meal, we skipped dessert and grabbed some Ben & Jerry's on the way home. I think the "Limited Menu" is a way for a subpar restaurant to charge exorbitant prices and fleece the public. We will most likely never return to this establishment because we feel ripped off. Bruno's should be ashamed for stepping outside their norm and fleecing people like that. The 2 stars is for the bartender. Otherwise - if I could, I'd give it zero stars. Skip this place. There are far better Italian restaurants in town.

Yelp
Food was ok, comparable to most MidWest Italian restaurants. Ambiance was spot on for what I look for in an Italian restaurant, but they have terrible customer service. I think from the moment I walked in I noticed the quality of service was awful as I watched every server walk by and pretend that they do not see us and end up standing there for about 7 minutes before one server that continuously ignored us finally rudely asked if anyone had helped us. It just continued from there. I cannot believe a restaurant doesn't train their people better than that. It's something that I will not settle for when dinning out anymore. Even if the food was terrific, I would not come back because of that.

Yelp
Ate here while in town at the end of Sept 2023. There were 6 of us. We made reservations earlier in the day and were seated immediately upon our arrival. Our server, Tara F., was awesome and on-point, constantly checking on us and refilling our water and drinks. The atmosphere was great, and I loved the decor, especially the flooring and ceilings. Definitely a cool place to dine. I ordered a Caesar Salad, Brushetta, and Shrimp Diavola, and all were fantastic. That Caesar dressing was probably one of the best I've ever tried. Everything was perfect! The only downside....parking. But, we got to walk off our dinners. Great experience and next time I'm in town, Bruno's will definitely be a stop for me.

Yelp
If there were more stars to give I would. We came to Springfield for our 27th wedding anniversary and by complete luck, and another restaurants poor service, happened upon Bruno's on a Friday night. It was the best meal of the entire trip. Everything we had from the Negroni (the best I've ever had) and Red Sangria, to the cheesy garlic flatbread, to the lobster bisque that is simply divine and the Grouper and Lobster Ravioli....if you live in Springfield and aren't eating here regularly....well I feel sorry for you. The ambience is perfect the staff exceptional and it was just the perfect anniversary evening because of this place. We will return and we won't forget.

Yelp
First, the food we did get was very good. I had a great plate of spaghetti with sauce, and my guest had a great plate of tortellini in cream sauce. Were they worth $44? No. The meal came with nothing else. In fact I posted a picture of the empty table because for 30 minutes after we ordered we sat looking at that. We finally got bread after we asked. But the food came first. I almost thought they would charge me for the bread. Anyway, what you get is not worth the wait and charge. Go to a different Italian place and get bread right away and a salad included with your dinner. Maybe even the option to add meatballs.

Yelp
Bruno's has won me over with their halibut. It's so delicious and rich. The service is absolutely amazing. I will be back soon.

Yelp
Great food and service, and you will have enough leftovers for your next meal...very generous portions. I did take off 1 star because someone in our party ordered the homemade lasagna and it was cold. They picked at it, didn't want to make a fuss, but just let our server quietly know when they were clearing the table. There was just a little apology, but no adjustment to the check. Otherwise great meal for everyone else.

Dana S.

Yelp
Our waitress was wonderful, atmosphere was is nice food is awful. Appetizer came out with our meal not before and was still frozen in the middle. Our pasta was bland and was barely warm at best, pizza my daughter ordered and it finally came as we were finished

Yelp
Tried Bruno's on a Saturday night @ 6:00 pm before the Symphony. One of only a couple that serve Cannelloni. The Open Table app suggested that there were no reservations available at 6 which I believed at first, then called the restaurant directly later and wola they had 6:00!‍ Ambiance is very nice. Not too quiet and not too loud. Italian music would have been a plus:). Our server Jason was very attentive and personable. Fococcia bread was super fresh and the olive oil and vinegar were nice. The Cab from Lake Co. (Can't remember) was very nice and a generous pour. The house salad was very fresh & just the right amount of dressing. Husband had cannelloni and I had the bucatini and both were excellent! Will definitely come back here, maybe even for lunch. Lots of other things I'd like to try. For sure some dessert!

Brey M.

Yelp
Egg plant parm appetizer was phenomenal. Check out Bruno's. Great ambience! Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Fantastic. The new ownership has been a great change for this business and can't wait to see what happens next. I have been to Brunos a few times bust this most recent trip will make me a regular. You must try the Trist (the green drink in the pictures). The perfect compliment to the bucatni!

Yelp
Maria was our waitress, and she is super awesome. The bread and olive dip was to die for! I can't stop dipping it lol. Then the cheese garlic bread was so cheesy and yummy. I can just eat this all day. Who doesn't love a good cheesy bread? Then we got the soup and salad. Omg i love the salad so much. The fresh mozzarella ball was super delicious with the tomatoes and argula with balsamic dressing. The soup was okie, its not my favorite but still taste fine. Then come the lobster ravioli and clam linguine. I can't stop licking the pasta sauce from the ravioli, it was sooooooo freaking good. The clams linguine compliment each other, i have to stop and take a break to enjoy it lol. One if the best itailian restaurant in town. I'm glad to try this local treasure in downtown. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the entrees on the menu.

Yelp
Came on a weekend during dinner time and it was quite packed. Ordered the tortalini as that was one of the vegetarian options - there were a few other options on there. I enjoyed the ambiance the service was solid.

Yelp
We had my birthday dinner here last night. I had the house salad and the cannelloni. The cannelloni was rich and delightful. Each bite had meat, noodle, cheese, and eggplant. Just a phenomenal and comforting dish. My husband had the gnocchi. It is the best gnocchi I have ever tried. My dad also ordered the cannelloni and my mom had their wagyu beef tips penne pasta. I tried her dish and it was superb. We finished the evening with desserts. The tiramisu and limoncello cake are both delicious. The tiramisu is very rich and pillowy in texture. Coffee lovers will delight in how deep the coffee flavor is in the tiramisu. The limoncello cake is bright and tangy. A perfect balance to the rich and deep tiramisu. Our service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall a perfect dinner.

Yelp
This place RULES!!!!!! Came here for an anniversary dinner and got the SPINACH & RICOTTA GNOCCHI WITH SAGE CREAM SAUCE and it might just have been the single greatest experience of all human lives that have ever lived and experienced ever. The chef might be God himself, this sauce is the blood of Christ and it quenched my thirst for eternity and forevermore. Amen. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone I see until the end of time. God bless America, and God Bless Bruno's Italian Restaurant. LETS GO BRUNO!!!!!!

Yelp
This place is quaint and great for Italian in thIs town. For lunch this place is above the norm and a much better meal for the reasonable price. Mixed greens salad has a homemade house dressing that is great. The house bread with its hard out tee crust and big airy insides....you know you're getting a real deal place when you see it set on the table. Carbonara I've had many times - with its rich cheesy sauce. Plenty of homemade sausage and pancetta mixed throughout. Dinner here will serve more complex dishes it's classy...yet laid back comfortable atmosphere. Antonio has been serving at this place for years. He himself really adds to the place. Antonio always presents as the nicest and sincere gentleman.

Yelp
Dinner at Brunos was comforting and atmosphered. Waitress Eva was informative and food was delicious. Had special mussels and garpacio to start with and bucatini plus lobster ravioli. Don't miss this place...

Kim E.

Yelp
Very clean, service was good but not great. The menu said the lobster bisque had lobster meat in it- it did not. There was no lobster in it and for $9.00 it should have had some. We won't go back only because the value is just not there.

Yelp
Great service and staff. Most important the food was amazing. I highly recommend. It's been along time since I've had quality Italian food from a restaurant. Being Italian it's rare for me to go out for it but this establishment made me happy I did.

Yelp
Bruno's was absolutely excellent!! If I could give it more stars I would ! My husband and I stopped in Springfield for a quick Day Date, and decided to dine at Bruno's. I had the bucatini that you could tell was made fresh with fresh ingredients! I also had more sweet teas than I can count lol and we topped it off with some cannolis ! I think the cherry on top of the experience, was our server Maria ! She was great so attentive and so personable ! If you're an Italian lover I highly recommend dining at Bruno's !

Yelp
I visited this restaurant with a friend recently on a weekend and we were able to get seated promptly without a reservation. The atmosphere was great and loved the music and old building details. The food was fresh and delicious. The bread was very good. The service was great. I would recommend trying this restaurant.

Yelp
My family is in the restaurant business so I wanted to give Bruno's a try again when heard some good reviews about the new chef. It's been years since I've initially been there. The menu was very well balanced, drinks were good, service was very friendly and prompt. All together, I could see that the owner has made some major positive changes. Kudos to the chef, the food was all really good and well seasoned. The only input I'd give them was about the gnocchi and the veal ravioli. (We did have the the pizza and another dish which were really delicious). The gnocchi had great flavor, the biggest drawback was that there was zero texture. It was very much almost raw. Typically you want to slightly brown them to give them the not-so-doughy texture. The sauce did pair well with it. The veal ravioli was a bit underwhelming. I'll give the chef credit for trying something new because he did go "outside the box" for this, and you have to appreciate that... My only input on this dish is that it would be far better to not have the ground up veal, but to actually serve the ravioli with traditional cream filling (the tomatoes were a nice touch though) with the veal on the side... Just a thought. (I do think the sauce was good with this dish too). Pizza was near perfection. Crust executed professionally. Drinks: definitely try the Black Manhattan. Really we'll defined tastes and very eclectic, yet traditional flavor. It is on the sweet side, but all the unique tastes blend really well together. This is not the dry Manhattan that you may be used to, but a nice blend of good liquor and Manhattan base. All together, good job new chef! Well executed.

Yelp
Looking for Italian in Springfield and found Bruno's. Cool spot in downtown although parking was a nightmare. Very good service and ambiance. The food was outstanding.. I had the Shrimp Diavola - great shrimp and just enough spice. The family also had Linguine with Clams and Rigatoni Bolognese. All very good! Maybe just a bit pricey but a great meal and we will be back.

Yelp
Excellent service from Antonio! The food transported me all the way to Sicily. It was a treat. The lasagna is delicious. The bread is fresh.

Yelp
This was a neat place to find! The staff was excellent, friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, very flavorful and leaves you wishing for just a bit more. The portions are the right size to fill you up. A cute hole in the wall place we'll be back on our next visit to Springfield.

Yelp
Just returned from Bruno's. Parking was difficult and the hostess did not have our reservation. Once I showed her she said that they could find us a table. Once seated our server was excellent and the food delicious.

Yelp
Awesome Italian food - great service and an excellent atmosphere. The bread and oil was surprisingly great and the desserts were phenomenal. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
This review is as much for the restaurant mgmt as it is for customers. Ordered online for delivery. Everything was going well until, by chance I went outside to throw away a bag of trash and saw a guy standing against a car in our carport looking at his phone with a bag that appeared to be a food delivery (I've ordered food for delivery once or twice before ;) He looks up at me and goes back to his phone. I go back in house a a moment later get a notification that the food ordered has been delivered. I look out the window to check the porch, don't see food but I see the guy from the carport leaving in the car he was standing against. Curious now that I have seen a bag that looks like food delivery but not at my door I take a walk back outside to the carport and there's this bag sitting on the hood of a random car. Curious still, I take a look inside and what do I find....Italian dinner of course-my Italian dinner!! Food was very good but I can't order delivery again bcse I can't trust the service their using.

Michael C.

Yelp
Been going to Bruno's every week or two for past 3 years . My wife and I have always enjoyed the excellent food and outstanding service from Antonio. We require special diet requirements and enjoy fresh seafood . Antonio and Bruno's never failed to deliver . Went today and found out restaurant has been sold . Antonio is still there and expected the same attention to detail as before . Antonio detailed to the chef how my wife wanted her food prepared . Unfortunately, the preparation was disappointing. Fish was improperly spiced and couldn't be eaten . Additionally, the serving size of both the fish and the vegetables is about 2/3's of what Bruno served. For a restaurant I always rated 4 or 5, I feel this experience was ,at best , a 2. The worst part is I'm unaware of any other restaurant in Springfield the serves fresh fish at 2:00 to 2:30 in the afternoon.
google avatar

Chester M.

Yelp
Loved it. I appreciated that the food was really the only thing that mattered. Nothing fancy or overreaching, no gimmicks just solid hot food. It's not a religious experience like you find sometimes but at this price-point Bruno's is outstanding. Our first time but I get a strong impression that they are very consistent.

Nathan G.

Yelp
Best Italian food in Springfield!!! My go to place for Italian! Never leave disappointed and always welcoming. If you are visiting Springfield- this is your place for oven baked pizza and incredible Italian

Yelp
This is an absolute gem. The food was impeccable to say the least but this is some of the best service I have encountered. We are in town for one night but the kindness, warmth and appreciation of the staff made us feel like we were regulars. There is the greatest amount of pride from the executive chef down to making the experience perfect for each and every customer. Well Done!

Yelp
After years and years passed- and still dreaming of the lobster ravioli, we finally returned. Service was the best I think I've ever experienced anywhere. I can't lie, we were slightly disappointed with the dish. It was a little underwhelming compared to what we remember. 4/5 stars still!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. We went as a table of 15 with a reservation. We were asked by the restaurant to arrive early, which we obliged. We ordered wine, to be told they don't have that wine, and have several others but not an updated list. Ok whatever. We ordered our food and clearly explained what groups were together which he took great notes on. But that's where it ends. The food came out with two dishes, then 5 minutes later another three, then another five minutes, and so on until everyone at the table was finished when the last two dishes arrived. I mentioned this huge gap in time to our serve who essentially blamed us saying "this is why we don't do tables of 15." Ok then why did you allow this reservation. Why did 6 of us order the same item only to come out 20 minutes apart, two of us split one dish, and 3 ordered the same thing. No excuse, no offer to rectify the situation. Really a bad experience

Yelp
Came in with the lady for a relaxing dinner. So glad we did. This place is somewhere between business casual and dressed up. Either is fine. We stared with the braschetta. Really nice sweet tomatoes on homemade bread with balsamic, olive oil and garlic. I go for the veal mushroom ravioli and the lady goes for the seafood ravioli. Sadly not made in house but all the sauces are. We agreed both were very good with sauce so good we had to ask for extra bread so we didn't leave any behind. If we had to pick one we think the veal mushroom was the best but both are good. Service was very good a polite. The Good Great in house sauces. Good in house bread. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. The Bad Would really have like homemade ravioli but we felt we got quality. So not really a bad. The Ugly Nada we are fans.

Yelp
The new owner and executive chef, Taylor, takes great pride in serving genuine Italian cuisine. He is personable making his way from meal preparation in the kitchen to visiting with guests to gain their perspectives. He is a modern chef that embraces both new and traditional menu items. From our experience, I would offer the following recommendations to any future guest: EXCELLENT house salad and salad dressing, EXCELLENT Romano pasta dish and EXCELLENT lemon cake. The setting/ambience is a warm, vineyard-type feel complemented with ambient lighting, overhead vines, and a beautiful mural of the original owner's home and vineyard in Sicily, Italy. All of this is set in a long dining room that accommodates around 68 at two, four or six top tables with another 10 or so seats at the bar. When we went around 8 pm on a Tuesday night (typically a slow night for most restaurants in the area), this venue was well over half full....a testament to the food quality, service and venue. The service was very good...informed servers know their food and new wine and cocktail menus, serve the table quickly and return frequently to refill drinks and attend to whatever other needs you may have while dining. Overall, it was a warm, wonderful, inviting genuine Italian dining experience where we felt welcomed and treated by a caring and attentive service staff. Hopefully, you will enjoy your first visit as much as we did ours. ENJOY!

Yelp
My husband and I have eaten at Bruno's several times over the years, both under the old original ownership and under the current ownership. Both experiences have been positive. Most recently we enjoyed Bruno's Valentine's Day special dinner menu and it was excellent! The menu was set with choices between two entrees (Steak Diane and Coq au Vin) and two desserts ( flourless chocolate torte and Pavlova), and appetizers, soup and salad. My husband and I chose different entrees and desserts so that we could each get a taste of the chef's handiwork. We were not disappointed. There was an optional wine pairing chosen for each course that really complemented each course. Mike, our server did an excellent job. If you are looking for a place to have a good meal with friends, I recommend Bruno's.

Yelp
Bruno's is terrific! We had a large family party there and were dazzled by the food, the service and the owner's willingness to go "above and beyond" to make everything comfortable and festive. The ravioli need a special comment, as they were among the best we've had...either in the US or in Italy. BRAVO, Taylor and the full Bruno's team!!!!

Yelp
Authentic Italian Pizza! My wife had the Margherita pizza - cheese tomato sauce and basil. I had the Sicilian - cheese tomato sauce with capers and anchovies. Salad dressing was great on the mixed salad and the arugula pine nut salad. Homemade bread comes with a olive oil and sun dried tomato mixture. Also, he has a red wine from Sicily at his vineyard. Pizza a little salty. Waitress talking more to coworkers than checking on us - below average service and they're not busy which might be cause of them congregating. But even taken into account it is recommended.

Yelp
Disappointed by the food on a Friday night... not much pancetta in the very thick tomato sauce, of the bucatini amatriciana that were very spicy. The prosciutto pizza came with a lot of arugula atop, but not much prosciutto. The linguini clam pasta sauce was watery, oily, without much flavor. The menu food items are written in Italian, which is great, but the server did not know any of the dishes' names...we had to spell out all dishes based on the ingredients...very inauthentic! The cannole are fantastically good, ...the tiramisu had not much coffee taste, too much mascarpone and not enough flavor...

Yelp
Average Italian food, expensive for the portions, waiter never offered another bread serving with dinner. Not sure I would return

Yelp
One of my favorite downtown restaurants. The staff is always very nice, especially during weekday lunch. The gentleman always remembers you! They have the best bread and oil in Springfield- be prepared because once you start eating it you can't stop. My favorite meal here is the salad with roasted vegetables and chicken! Heads up it can be a little chilly in here but they're always kind enough to turn the fans off.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Bruno's on our trip to Springfield recently. After looking at other Italian restaurants in the area, I wasn't sure any of them would stand up to my own standards, but Bruno's went above and beyond! I was pleasantly surprised! My meal (the seafood ravioli in a creamy tomato bisque sauce) was gorgeous. It was absolutely perfect and a delight to partake in. My husband's dish (the creamy spinach ricotta gnocchi) was heavenly as well. We also really enjoyed the bread that was brought to our table. It was all very well seasoned, cooked, and beautifully presented. We will absolutely be back! I'd recommend this place and experience to others. I'd also like to thank Brandon for his excellent service!
