Food was not that good, especially conpared to these ratings. Artichokes tasted like they were grilles from the can. Paella had 0 depth of flavors; like packaged spanish rice cooked separately from seafood. Dates were overcooked. Sangria was tasty but smallest pitcher ever. Not cheap. Not worth a re/visit

Great Spanish tapas with tasty food and nice vibe! All the food we tried was good. Portion of each dish is not too big and we were able to try four dish. Our waiter was very nice as well. Would love to come back again and try other dish!

More like 3.5 :) it was not bad overall, but not as good as I expected either. PROS - service was amazing! - really liked the atmosphere. - a lot of menu choices. CONS - inconsistent cooking - some dishes slightly under, some slightly over. I do plan on going back and trying other dishes in the menu that sounded great! Also, I arrived at 5pm when they opened, but leaving was very difficult to navigate through because like they mention on their website it is a small space. People were just kind of standing everywhere blocking tables from getting out. I might try patio seating next time. It looked cozy too, just less congestion :)

Walked in for early dinner. Tapas were great , and their drink menu were good. Non-alcohol drinks are available. Price range was $21-33 ish. Will go back to try more dishes!

Had the patatas fritas and the fideos con jabali (noodles with boar). Both were tasty and satisfying. Service is friendly and attentive. Wine prices are reasonable.

This place had great atmosphere and service but the food was lack luster at best. I love tapas and I spent some time living in spain so I can confidently say this food was not it. There are great places in nyc for tapas this place just isn’t one of them we didn’t get drinks so I can’t comment on them. The paella lacked flavor, the croquettes were oddly too sweet and the texture was interesting, and the gambas were okay but again nothing special.

So good! The Sangre de Toro is delish. The service is great. The patatas bravas are tasty, but a bit overpriced. The steak was good. The beet salad was delicious and the croquetas de queso de cabra with strawberries… my God!!!

Unimpressed, mediocre tapas, food lacked depth in flavor and poorly executed dishes. Some examples: Octopus smelled and tasted fishy which means it wasn’t fresh. Watery baby scallop dish, shrimp al ajillo was more oil than anything, they don’t clean the shrimp. The paella had good flavor although the color was off (not enough saffron), fried calamari was good…..wouldn’t come back for those two items though.

Nice place. Tables are very small so if you are a fat person you might have a problem. Also it is very dark so bring a flashlight so you can read the menu. The best thing we had was the corn with chorizo.

My friend and I had dinner here on the day all the floods occurred. The interior is cool with dim lighting, giving the place a grown up atmosphere. The chairs were high up, which felt a bit weird. Upon being seated, we were served bread with olive oil. The bread was soft and soaked up the oil well. I ordered the Plato de Buceo, a platter of tapas, including (in order of my favorite to least favorite): + Bacon Wrapped Dates: Bacon was delightfully crispy, which was a nice contrast to the satisfyingly soft, chewy, and sweet dates. + Bacalao Croquettes: These were wonderfully crunchy and well seasoned, made with fresh Bacalao. + Fritters: The filling was a tasty mix of serrano ham and manchego cheese. This was light and full of flavor. + Goat Cheese Croquettes: Amazingly cheesy with a BBQ-like sauce made with smoked honey, strawberry purée, as well as strawberries. + Pimentos: Blistered green peppers, sprinkled with sea salt. At first, I felt this was too spicy for me, but I was able to handle the heat after the initial bite. They were perfectly charred and very fresh. Service was solid. Our waiter was welcoming and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. I would definitely return to try the Fideos con Camarones (Basque noodles with shrimp and chorizo) and Baby Lamb Chops.

I went to Buceo 95 on a Saturday night around 8pm to get some tapas and drinks. Did not need to make a reservation but the restaurant was quite full. The staff is really kind and attentive. They provide some bread and olive oil to dip. I was pleasantly surprised they had one of my favourite spanish beers, ALHAMBRA LAGER, which that never dissapoints and I ordered some tapas to share. The BRAISED CAULIFLOWER was a great surprise, had a cheesy manchego delicious sauce and was cooked to the perfect tenderness. I was a bit dissapointed about the OCTOPUS as its just few small baby octopus with some fried potatoes. But probably my fault as I did not read the menu properly and was expecting large octopus tentacles. Then also had the GRILLED SKIRT STEAK, which was well cooked and comes with some mustard green sauce. In summary I feel that the food is good, they just need to improve the pulpo and their service is great! ESPAÑOL: Fui a Buceo 95 un sábado noche sobre las 8pm para tomar unas tapas y bebidas. No hizo falta hacer reserva pero el restaurante estaba bastante lleno. El personal es muy amable y atento. Sirven algo de pan y aceite de oliva para untar. Me sorprendió gratamente que tienen una de mis cervezas españolas favoritas, ALHAMBRA, que nunca falla y pedí algunas tapas para compartir. La COLIFLOR COCIDA fue una gran sorpresa, servida con una deliciosa salsa de queso manchego y estaba cocinada perfectamente hasta estar tierna. Me decepcionó un poco el PULPO ya que eran unas pocas piezas de pulpo pequeño con patatas fritas. Pero probablemente fue mi culpa ya que no leí el menu debidamente y me esperaba piezas de tentáculo de pulpo grande. Luego también probé el CHURRASCO, que estaba bien cocinado y viene con una salsa de mostaza verde. En resumen, creo que la comida es buena, tan solo tienen que mejorar un poco el pulpo y el servicio es genial!

A little less consistent than before - croquetas are still good - esp. the goat cheese. It is hard to find them on the UWS, so I always get at least two types. Instead of the sauteed calamari - which I love - we tried the garlic shrimp. They were tasteless and oily. Too bad. The dishes with melted cheese - such as the stuffed mushroom special and the pepper stuffed with cheese also tasted a bit oily - as if they were overcooked. The final disappointment was the Spanish tortilla which should be a simple but sublime dish of thinly sliced potatoes poached in oil until silky and then added to slowly cooked scrambled eggs. This was like an omelet with some large chunks of parboiled potatoes thrown in. Beside the great croquetas, we enjoyed a very very decadent cauliflower in a cheesy bechamel sauce. Even if you hate cauliflower, you will love this dish. The service is excellent. We were the only people sitting outside which usually means that the service is substandard (I have taken to calling the restaurant and asking them to come to our outdoor table!) But Buceo 95 is committed to the outdoor experience, the service was every bit as attentive as it was in the restaurant itself.

Updated: came back exactly a year later with my (back then, first date) but now boyfriend and we had a lovely experience. Ambiance is still very nice and romantic. They have improved their set up so that there is AC inside the restaurant and it's no longer unbearably hot and humid, plus they extended their space with AC to include a small portion of the street which has big windows so you get the view of the street with the comfort of AC! Food tasted a lot better this time but we did order different items. We got: Beet salad: very bright and refreshing. Had a citrusy orange dressing with some goat cheese and nuts. Patatas bravas: amazing just like last time! Loved them the same. Definitely order these. Hongos: this was truly fantastic! One of my favorites. Mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese and a nice pistachio crust. The mushroom was meaty and juicy and went very well with the creaminess of the goat cheese and nuttiness of pistachios. Came in skewers which I thought was cool but did come incredibly hot and we were not warned...So please be careful about eating these too quickly so you don't burn yourself. Croquetas de Bacalao: crispy with a soft cod filling that was very comforting. Comes with a nice caper aoli. Pretty oily batter but was craving that so they were perfect for the mood I was in. Cazuela de Mariscos: delicious tomato based dish with some white wine in the sauce that had shrimp, octopus, squid, and oysters. Very tasty sauce and pretty filling portion. We used some table bread for the sauce and it was a very good combo. Flamenquin de Pollo: similar to Cordon Bleu but a bit more potent since it had jamón and manchego cheese. Very good although a little overdone. Flan: amazing, mild flavor. Not too sweet. Texture was a little too hard for flan but still decent if you have a flan craving. Ice cream: couldn't get a good picture for this but it was very nice. The ice cream was creamy and came with these dried sour cherries. There was some liquor in it so it tasted like an elevated rum raisin ice cream. Delicious and refreshing for a hot summer day. Service was again fantastic. We got many rounds of bread, multiple refills on our water, and they were not rushing us to get out. Love the lowkey, romantic ambiance and the location. Will definitely come back to try more tapas :)

Love this place! The staff is so kind and nice and the food is really good. I love the sangria, too, and i'm very picky about sangria. We got the bacon wrapped dates and asparagus and fritters. The asparagus was good but not great. Everything else was phenomenal. Really cute bar too inside.

It was a fun atmosphere with good wine but the food is average. The best part were the figs wrapped in bacon

Food was great and the service as well. We had the cauliflower, crabmeat and codfish croquettes and the paella with chorizo. All delicious and very tasty. The sangria was just right. Nice cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

We didn't have a chance to try any bites, but I really enjoyed the ambiance as I caught up with friends at the bar. We were looking for a nice place to sit at the bar and have some wine before a holiday party. Surprisingly, there was full space at the bar around 8 PM on Saturday. We were able to sit and relax with some nice wine. The tapas looked delicious, I combed through the menu and would definitely like to go back to try some of the authentic items. I noticed this too late for me to order it - but they serve my favorite Spanish vermut, El Bandara. Definitely order a vermut spritz if you have the chance!

This place is so good that I don't want more people, except you, to know about it. Friendly staff, nice wine, and enticing tapas. A favorite neighborhood restaurant.

Buceo 95 truly feels like a hidden gem to me. There's always a nice crowd inside but it's also always possible to get a table. The service is consistently A+, the wines are delicious and I love all of the tapas. The bacon wrapped dates are my favorite item on the menu. Highly recommend!

I would love to leave an "innocent" review, but this place is really the dumps, and I mean that with no hate and nothing but pride.

i feel sad to be this harsh but buceo 95 deserves negative stars. i have lived and travelled in spain, as well as eaten catalan relatives' home cooking for many years, and buceo 95 was as inauthentic as it was intolerable : -the octopus tasted EXTREMELY fishy and unfresh, as if it had been frozen and defrosted multiple times and was not safe to eat. it was genuinely inedible. -the tortilla was served hot, but the potatoes inside it were ice cold. nasty. -the meatballs were rubbery and....grainy? -the cauliflower was perfectly edible but exceedingly disappointing. it had simply been boiled and smothered with a sauce so it lacked texture or excitement. wine was fine. service was fine. location/outdoor seating is great. but do yourself a favor and go somewhere where food quality is valued.

This great little tapas and wine bar is just up the street from my wife's place on the Upper West Side, and we went for dinner this past weekend to celebrate me finally being able to get across the border! Everything about it was top notch - the service was great, the atmosphere, everything. We shared a pitcher of sangria and ordered a number of tapas to make for a great dinner at about $50 each when it was all said and done. My personal favourite was Fideos con Jabali, as well as the churrasco and bacon-wrapped dates. Also was a fan of Coles de Bruselas - Brussels sprout slaw, basically - the raisins and balsamic together really sold that. One other thing not to miss are Croquetas de Queso de Cabra - goat cheese fritters. Definitely a new favourite spot.

Atrocious service and even worse food and drinks. The bartender must have been having a bad day as well as the drinks were not to par. The manager also was very flippant about the complaints and did nothing about it. Overall terrible experience. Avoid this place.

Found Buceo 95 through the app Seated. While service was nice although in some ways overly attentive, I was disappointed by the lack of complexity of the food and small portion size for the somewhat hefty price. We started with the croquettes with strawberry purée ($12) and while tasty it felt more like a dessert; the saltiness of the fried bits didn't create enough interest for this dish and I feel like the addition of balsamic or something else sour or bitter could've elevated it a lot. The roasted eggplant dish ($13) was also decent, it came out hot and fresh but again was quite one dimensional, you mostly tasted the garlic and cheese on top. It was not brought out with bread so we had to ask for more. Not pictured is the skirt steak which was good but a pretty small portion for the price ($19), there were only 4 or 5 pieces that were like two bites each. I also included a pic of the decor on the windows... while I'm not afraid to admit I'm a proud Democrat it was kind of off putting to have dozens of POTUS heads smirking at you, but otherwise the ambiance was nice. Overall I feel like I have been to more creative tapas places and this more traditional spot didn't blow me away.

Don't do it. Burnt ciabatta for my lamb sliders. Fennel Salad was definitely old had no flavor at all. I have never had tasteless fennel. Tasted like it was left in the fridge uncovered. It is way over priced !!!

I wanted to love this neighborhood spot that support Biden and Ukraine! The bread was stale, The Brussel sprout salad was too sweet, The chorizo was dry and the chickpeas under cooked. The prices are on the high side for tapas. Great wine, nice atmosphere, please do better and I'll come back all the time.

I found Buceo 95 while wandering through the UWS, and the sign caught my attention. A delightful neighborhood spot with an extensive and affordable wine list. Stopped by for a glass of wine and sherry nightcap at the bar on my most recent visit. Ambiance inside was lovely. Have ordered some light bites on a previous visit which were also quite good. A real hidden gem!

Fantastic experience on the upper west side. Service was friendly, extremely accommodating and very helpful with the menu. We had a wide assortment of tapas which were all packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients. We loved it and will be back again!

Still 5 stars in my book! Great ambience (the fresh cut flowers in the restrooms are a nice touch), helpful and friendly staff, and the food is always excellent. We enjoy sitting at the bar and starting with the sangria. It's unlike other sangria I've had, but very tasty and potent. They also have a nice wine list. The menu has a large variety of tapas to pick from ranging from meats and cheese, seafood dishes, duck, boar, pork belly, etc. The bacon wrapped dates and hongos (favorite thing on the menu) continue to be a must order for us, followed closely by the duck and pork belly. Honestly everything we have tried has exceeded expectations. We are glad to have it in the neighborhood!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in NYC. First came to this quaint neighborhood eatery back in 2017, and have been coming back on a regular basis ever since (including the night I got engaged). The staff is phenomenal- so friendly, informative, and personal with giving recommendations if asked. The aesthetic is top notch, super cozy and romantic. And the food, where to begin. The flavors are amazingly fresh and bold, and always reliable. Although these are tapas portions, we always leave so happy and full. The garlic shrimp is top notch, as are the bacon wrapped dates..and not to mention the complimentary (Amy's) bread and powerful olive oil. 100/10 would recommend this neighbor gem.

I've been living on the upper west side my whole life and i just discovered this restaurant. Very charming place with an extensive tapas and wine menu. All the food was tasty and the waitstaff was very friendly.

I came here for dinner. They have a really good wine list and they made good recommendations for our wine choices when we told them our flavor profile. The tapas was really good too I would highly recommend the scallops and the carne Asada. We also tried the bacon wrapped dates but those left me a little cold. The space is smaller but they have some outdoor seating which is on the pavement, and it's got a cute look and looks authentic for a tapas bar. Bathrooms are clean and the wait staff is really good. They are busy, one can tell but they made sure our table was bussed and managed, even brought us fresh bread.

Delicious tapas! Loved just about everything. The Spicy Margaritas were AMAZING. The staff was friendly.

What. A. Disappointment. We came here to literally reenact our first date and ever single plate we had ordered this time around was an utter disappointment. Paprika chips? Tasted like store bought chips egregiously seasoned with excessive paprika. Duck? See attached pic. We left it. So upsetting. While cooked to a solid medium rare, somehow shoe leather in texture. Maybe they refreshed it because of coronavirus? Shrimp? Don't bother. Overcooked by several minutes. There goes that idea of remaking a special day

We live walking distance and have noticed Buceo 95 but never got around to trying it.....until last night. We worked so late making dinner was unappealing and when we searched, we found Buceo 95 is open daily from 5 to midnight !! Well, since Covid, no one is open that late on a weekday night, but I called to confirm and there were open. We arrived at 11 and the restaurant was pretty quiet, but the waiter assured us that it was fine and that we could have any of the tapas on the menu that we wanted. We ordered baby scallops with artichokes and duck breast with peaches. We were very hungry at this point and the dishes came very quickly. The staff was attentive and thorough, I got an excellent wine recommendation as I was unfamiliar with the wines offered. The dishes were absolutely delicious -- baby scallops pair perfectly with artichokes, the broth was flavorful with hints of both. The duck breast was a generous portion and it was great to have duck with something other than oranges, and in fact, cooked fresh peaches are perfect with duck. We had an excellent dessert, bittersweet chocolate with fried chimichangas which were perfectly made. By the time we finished, it was nearly midnight, but never once did the staff make us feel rushed. When asked, they did say that this being a weekday night in August, if the restaurant is empty, they sometimes might close early, but we had called, they expected us and we were very welcome. Everyone has had the experience of having the staff close up around you when you come late in the evening, even when you have been assured that the restaurant is open. That can be very uncomfortable, it makes you feel rushed and the meal less enjoyable. But Buceo 95 thinks all customers are valuable at whatever time they are eating. Everything about this was excellent, including the prices, and we cannot wait to come back and try other tapas....a perfect late night meal. You don't overeat late at night and it is a great experience. Thank you Buceo 95....and we like your Ukranian flags too.

This is the Tempranillo Rose... I did not order. I asked for Vina white wine from Rioja. I love how the server told me that the one I initially ordered isn't that good like as if that was going to make the mistake okay. He suggested to take it back. I told him I don't drink rose but that I will drink it because I didn't want another fuck up or for this wine to go a waste. The wine isn't bad, reminds me of Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, NZ.. in the sense of crisp finish taste but not what I requested. Therefore, I didn't order food...afraid shit will hit the fan since my first time experience started out bad.

Ate here for the first time recently. The food was delicious, but good Lord it was slow. We sat down around 7:20 and ordered five plates: two vegetables, a fish, and two meats. The vegetables came first; we polished them off, then waited a very long time before the anchovies eventually appeared. There was another terribly long wait, and then one of the meat plates appeared. We finished it, and again we sat and sat. By now it was 9:05, and we still hadn't received our last meat plate. The wait staff were very friendly, but they seemed as surprised as we were that the food still hadn't arrived. They went off in search of it and managed to produce it without too much more waiting, but the meal still took a full two hours. (We decided to pass on dessert, because we wanted to be home before midnight.) Everything we ate was very good -- it's a shame that the extreme slowness of the service put such a damper on things. It was fortunate that we didn't have to be anywhere afterwards. I would have given four or five stars if the food had come out at anything approaching a normal pace.

My friend has been here and was dying to go again so we finally made the trip. It had incredible food, great staff (we had a flight later in the day, and they sped up service and brought out our food really fast) and a really cool vibe. I tried the goat cheese croquettes, bacon wrapped dates, baked eggplant and octopus. The goat cheese croquettes were easily my favorite - they're served with a sweet sauce made from strawberries and honey. I think the bacon-wrapped dates could have been a bit better. They had an amazing flavor, but were not as crispy as previous ones I've tried. But on the whole, it was a really positive experience. I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes on the menu!

Buceo 95 has been one of my go-to restaurants for years. I used to live just down the block from it, and considered myself blessed to have such a great place close by. Just about everything there is amazing! The pan con tomate is better than anywhere else I've had it. The bacon wrapped dates are a delight. The lamb sliders, the shaved Brussels sprouts, the fritters... I could go on and on. The only thing I've ever had there that I don't like are the chips, because I don't care for how they're seasoned (but my girlfriend thinks they're great). And don't forget to save room for dessert! They have something called torrija that I've never had anywhere else, and love - it's somewhere between a cake and a bread pudding-ish/French toast-ish thing, and I love it! Now take all that, and combine it with a top-notch wine bar. They've got a good selection, and the manager and staff are great at talking you through possibilities if you're not sure what might tickle your palate. A good selection of dessert wines, too. All around, one of the best places in the neighborhood!

I've been here dozens of times over many years. It's a lovely spot with really fantastic tapas. Must try: the bacon wrapped dates and the paella. Highly recommend this spot!

Mediocre fare and service. The restaurant seems to be popular but we were disappointed with the food. The patatas bravas was fine, the garlic shrimp did not taste fresh ( more like frozen cooked shrimp) seeped in oil and garlic- no flavor at all. Goat cheese croquettas were bland sadly. They forgot the stuffed chicken jamon and when it arrived ( after a reminder from us!), it was so salty and dry that we could not enjoy it so sent it back! We decided to try the churros for dessert and it took a long time for them to arrive and when thy did , they were disappointingly hard and crunchy ( not soft on the inside as churros should be!) with no flavor of cinnamon at all. Overall- the food was overpriced for the quality and the service was not great. We love tapas but will not be back to Vins Tapas/ Buceo 95.

The food is so so, and way too expensive for what it is. Portions were extremely small. The waiter brought the wrong wine, but insisted it was what I ordered. Maybe I was just there on an off night. It's always possible, but I don't think I'd bother going back. Sorry as we like to patronize the local neighborhood restaurants.

We were in the mood for some tapas and decided to try out Buceo. We arrived on a Saturday night and we were asked whether we wanted inside or outside, we opted for outside since it was a beautiful summer night. We were then greeted by our served Kylee who gave us our menus and took our drink order. We went with the sangria & Limonada De Mencia to start our night, the sangria was good but the limonada (lemonade + red wine) was truly delicious. Next time I visit, this is all I'm ordering! We had quite some tapas and they were all amazingly delicious. They went like this... Croquetas De Queso: Exquisite! Goat cheese in a lightly breaded and fried tapas, served in a bed of strawberry jam. This was quite delicious and flavorful, so do not skip! Gambas Al Ajillo: This garlic shrimp was beyond yummy, make sure to soak the bread in the sauce and get ready to want so much more! Paella: Could be a bit more flavorful, they do not skimp on the seafood but the rice was a bit bland. Expected more from this but it was just okay. I'll skip this one next time. Costillas De Cordero: BEST TAPAS HERE! These lamb chops were ordered medium rare and they were cooked perfectly. They were served with this honey mustard peach sauce that was to die for. Albeit, a bit pricey (20$) but completely worth it. Dátiles: this is always our favorite tapas anywhere but here they were also insanely delicious. Very fresh and the bacon was cooked to perfection. Overall, a wonderful night with excellent service. Kylee was amazing at her job and made sure we were always taken care of, she exceeded at her job and made us want to return here. Wonderful restaurant.

Came here to celebrate my birthday. What a wonderful evening! Everything was great, from service to food to conversations. Thank you to Courtney & Jimmy Peterson for making my birthday extra special! We'll be back soon.

Nice al fresco dining and excellent food, if not exactly inexpensive (then again, what tapa place is?). Try the grilled artichokes, the baby octopus, and the black and white anchovies. (But don't bother with the cauliflowers, they are just drowned in cheese.) Accompany the whole thing with one of their Spanish wines, for instance the Benito Santos. The only negative is that when I went inside for a restroom break they did not check my covid card. Not cool.

Came in before a show (Eric Idle) at nearby Symphony Space and had an excellent meal. It's tapas so don't expect large portions as you'll spend $$$ if you want to get really full. Small place with patio so not really for large groups unless you want to be packed in like sardines (which were on the menu if I recall). Loved the Wild Boar $20.00 (but not nearly enough for our party of 4 -- so only two people got to taste it). Shaved Brussels were also excellent. I like the fact they have "Quartinos" of wine so you get a bit more than just a glass.

Ate dinner here recently, and have a mixed view of Buceo. The food was very good, but the service not so much. I was with a group of people, and the waiter brought out my dinner almost 25 minutes later after the others, saying my dish "took more time" to prepare. My companions were about done eating, and I was just starting. This is no way to serve at a restaurant. If a dish is going to take so long,it'd be great if the waiter had informed us, and perhaps kept the other dinners warm while the one dish was being prepared. At least we could have enjoyed our food together. I ended up taking most of my dinner to go, since it was getting late. It was a shame that the dish tasted delicious, but the experience was spoiled by poor service. The three stars are for the food only.

5 stars for the food. I had to knock one star off for the seating. It was pretty awful. My travel buddy and I hit this spot up because we weren't super hungry but we still wanted to have a dinner before we retired for the night. We had a little bit of a difficult time finding it because I found it on Yelp and was looking for the name - But the restaurant itself doesn't say Buceo 95 outside... It says "Tapas" though. Sort of weird. We went in and it was quite packed. They had several reserved tables and one in the corner. We took it but we had no room to sit... She kept getting hit by the door and I couldn't get my legs under the table. I am not a very big person, so I can't imagine who they thought they would be able to seat there comfortably. So we asked for another table and by this time other folks had left and they were able to accommodate us. We ordered 2 apps - An eggplant spread and the roasted cauliflower. The eggplant was good but the cauliflower was to die for! There were bits of I want to say pancetta and figs. I love figs! Since the food was so good, we decided on a getting the buffalo sliders as well. So juicy and delicious. The drinks here were super pricey. We ordered a "pitcher" of sangria, which was more like a third or a half of a pitcher. (I am thinking maybe 3 wine glasses worth of sangria.) It was okay sangria - They had apples in it and a few other fruits, but not particularly great. They brought around a roasted baby pig to show us, but apparently it was a special order thing that we couldn't get unless we ordered in advance. That was a little sad because that looked sooooooo good! Oh well. Something to look forward to if I am ever in the area again. :)

Great place to have tapas and wine. I'm very impressed with the service. The stuff is friendly and polite. The manager is wine knowledgeable. We ended up staying longer than planned experimenting with wine and cheese. Glad to have this place in my neighbourhood

Courtney is my hero for bringing this amazing spot to my neighborhood and being a friendly welcoming spirit who makes me feel like I belong. Every single food item I have ever tried is outstanding. The cauliflower with manchego cheese is truly the holy grail. The wine list is varied and interesting. And the vibe is casual and welcoming. I love everything about this place!!

Lovely place with a very attentive staff. Outside dining was really nice on a NYC spring day. We had 5 tapas. One meat, others were mariscos and verdiras. I definitely recommend the lamb sliders. You get 2 with a generous helping of home made spicy potato chips. The baby octopus was excellent. The monk fish was over the top. Coliflor a la Brasa was delicious, savory. The Berenjena was a little bland. I liked as a sort of tapenade but I couldn't taste the eggplant really. One recommendation: I wish this Spanish restaurant serves tinto de verano. It would have made this visit perfect.

Apparently they have a small grill and for this reason they do not toast their bread. But they made an exception after my friend pleaded. I understand Manhattan rent is expensive but a small grill just seems like a bad idea for a decent size restaurant.

The Upper West Side does it again with yet another wonderful wine and tapas bar. I've been here twice now - once with a few friends and once on a date - both experiences were quite enjoyable (though, my wallet is not too pleased). This is a cozy, intimate spot that's a must-try if you like classic Spanish tapas. One downside is the price - it's easy to spend a LOT here without realizing it. The food is delicious, but I don't think the price is consistent with the quality/portion sizes you get. But onto some highlights... Food: Between my two visits, I can speak to: -the Calamari (comes with roasted red pepper almond sauce that is delightful) -the Shrimp (pretty basic, very tasty) -the Brussels Sprouts (comes with currants that are delicious on their own and even better when paired with the brussels sprouts) -the Mushrooms (Decent but not the best mushrooms I've ever had - I'm a huge mushroom lover though, so I've ordered mushrooms at just about every tapas bar I've been to) -the Cumin Chicken Kabobs (nothing special, but not bad) -Grilled Baby Octopus (served w/ lemon aleppo polenta, glazed celery, parsley oil - if you like octopus, this should definitely be on your radar, YUM) Wine: -Both times I've been here I've ordered medium-bodied reds. Couldn't tell you the region or the name, but both were great. Service: Efficient and pleasant. Bartender was quick to refill both wine and water glasses and our food came out as quickly as it possibly could. Two thumbs up there. One more good note: The host here is very personable and will check in with your party once or twice throughout the night to make sure everything is going well. Definitely adds to the whole wine bar experience. Ambiance: Very intimate. It can get a bit loud during prime dining hours, but it mellows out around 9/9:30. And as friendly as this place is, between the food, wine and the occasional cramped table, probably not the best idea to bring along the kids for this one. Great for small groups and even better for dates.
