"To say it simply, the Lobster Joint is the taste of summer all year round. It is the quintessential North Eastern summer seafood joint: lobster rolls, crab cakes, fried oyster, fresh oysters, and much more. The backyard is open all year round with a covered tent that keeps you warm even in the winter. Make sure to get there for happy hour for $1 oysters, $4 beers, and sliders." - Milkshake

"Burger & Lobster does two things, and it does one of them pretty well (hint, it’s not the burger). Even their classic lobster roll isn't exactly exceptional on its own, but it comes with a large silver gravy boat filled with a cheat-code sauce of creamy lemon and garlic butter. This dip-and-douse lobster roll experience may not pass muster with purists, but it is delicious. Served with a salad or fries (get fries and dip them too), the roll is $32, which—this close to Times Square and in the context of NYC lobster prices in general—is actually kind of reasonable." - willa moore, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah
"You have to admire a restaurant that lets you know exactly what to expect, right in its name. Burger & Lobster is the only U.S. outpost of an upscale international chain that originated in London. Though you may be seated beside multiple families of tourists, the vibe here is, disconcertingly, a little sexy: artfully distressed metal lobster tails and claws hang overhead in the spacious dining room, which also features red leather banquettes and a sculptural wall of lobster traps. A neon sign of a Samuel Beckett quote glows on a wall near the (slightly depressing) tanks in the lobby. photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick Pause Unmute We have a very specific prescription for you here: Skip the burger altogether, and proceed directly to the Classic Lobster Roll. It’s neither a particularly good nor a particularly bad lobster roll, but it comes with a silver sauce boat—nearly the size of the sandwich itself—filled with creamy lemon and garlic butter. Douse anything in that stuff, possibly even one of those decorative metal lobster claws, and it will be delicious. Served with fries or salad (get the fries, and dip them in that butter), it’s $30, which, this close to Times Square—and in the context of New York City lobster prices in general—isn’t wildly unreasonable. There are much worse options for convenient pre-Broadway meals, especially when you consider that Burger & Lobster is in the very same building as the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown Original Burger It’s a great-looking burger, studded with black and white sesame seeds and stacked with a couple thick slabs of bacon, but the bun is way dry. If you’re craving beef around these parts, we’d sooner send you to the Shack Shack inside Grand Central. photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick Connecticut Lobster Roll The warm, buttery lobster has its charms, but it’s slightly overcooked, and a little mushy. Classic Lobster Roll The chilled filling is refreshing, tossed with bright lemon mayo and sprinkled with chives, but the brioche is a bit of a dud. This would be a fine, if unexceptional lobster roll, if not for the cheat code that is the side of lemon garlic butter. Not for purists, but—wow. photo credit: Molly Fitzpatrick Truffle And Parmesan Chunky Fries These fries are pleasantly fluffy on the inside, but the truffle is overpowering. Try the rosemary and garlic flavor instead." - Molly Fitzpatrick
"This isn't our favorite lobster roll in New York City, but it is, definitively, our favorite lobster roll served in the very same building as the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. On its own, the Classic Lobster Roll is neither particularly good nor bad, but combined with the culinary cheat code that is Burger & Lobster's creamy lemon and garlic butter, it's delicious. This sandwich costs $30—arguably a steal, considering a) it's a lobster roll and b) you're basically in Times Square—and comes with fries, which you should liberally dip in that butter. Burger & Lobster has plenty of room for groups and is open till 11pm on weekends and 10pm otherwise." - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine, sonal shah, will hartman, molly fitzpatrick
"New to the market, London import Burger & Lobster will be serving its basic bait at another NYC location." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya
