"Bao steamed bun “tacos’” and BBQ pork garlic noodles are just a few of the big flavors of Burmese-Asian fusion that, despite a recent move to a larger location with plentiful outdoor seating, keep this joint jumping. The meatless tea leaf salad is a must-try and the vegetarian curry samosas are so popular they often sell out before the dinner rush is over. There’s Singha Thai lager on tap, too." - Christina Mueller

"Bypass the tired Asian-fusion offerings and head straight for the authentic Burmese dishes at this out-of-the-way cutie. A nutty, crunchy and flavorful tea leaf salad is the perfect answer to a hot summer day, while hearty spiced potato-stuffed samosas and fresh, springy egg noodles tossed with barbecue pork and fried garlic chips will warm your soul in the cooler months.Given the high quality of its food, it’s no surprise that Burmatown is Corte Madera’s most popular neighbor: it’s big with local families from the surrounding residences who pack every single table, attended to by warm servers. If you’re willing to make a special trip to this charming bright-orange bungalow, the laid-back vibe will have you feeling right at home." - Michelin Inspector

I always enjoy Burmese food. I will say the food was all decent but I was left disappointed in a few dishes. The restaurant was cute but gets very busy just as a heads up. Likes : 1. The bbq meat with rhe garlic noodles (on the sweeter side which I enjoy) 2. Thai iced tea is always so good 3. Coconut rice 😍 Not thrilled on: 1. The pork curry tasted like it was lacking flavor, as if someone forgot to add salt. The meat itself was cooked to perfection. Overall dissapointed in the flavor. 2. The tea left salad also seemed a little lack luster. I thought it needed something more. Recommendations: 1. Make a reservation. 2. Don't come if you are hard of hearing, it gets very busy and can be loud and hard to hear.

Thai basil stir-fry was pretty good. I got the vegan option with rice and the sauce was delicious! Only thought is in my opinion there were too many green beans compared to the rest of the vegetables. Next time I would ask to add tofu and more vegetables. The tea leaf salad was outstanding - would 100% order again! Very cute space and vibe! Staff was very friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait but even though they were busy we got a table pretty fast overall. Plenty of parking!

Our first time here. Came for lunch on a Thursday, and we were completely blown away. The food is delicious, the portions are HUGE, ane the service is excellent. We had Jalapeno Shrimp Chow Fun and Coconut Chicken Curry with Squash, with Coconut Rice. Both dishes were superb. This $38.50 lunch order (before tax and tip) would have fed 4 people very easily. The two of us not only took a whole meal’s worth of leftovers home, we also ordered two more curries to go (Braised Burmese Pork Curry and one more order of the chicken curry). They were unusually busy that day, but the service was still excellent. We will be back many, many times, for sure! The photograph shows our leftovers after 2 people had eaten their fill!

Google
The food was so so good! I highly recommend the chicken Bao and Jalapeño noodles. It was too good and the service was awesome

Google
Staff was very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was good, with enough outdoor seating to not overwhelm the staff. Food was outstanding! All the items we ordered were delicious with great flavors. Everything seen going to other tables, looked and smelled as good as anything we tried. Make reservations if you're going to show up after 5, they fill up fast and stay busy.

Google
Wow - the execution of the food is exceptional! Had the tea leaf salad, the special' fish - perfectly cooked beyond belief, - served with a delicious broth with some greens, and the Chile garlic green beans - the crunch is impressive, as is the medium hot spice. Attentive wait staff that is genuinely focused on making your experience special. The ambience combines excellent lighting with natural materials with the buzz of the diners. Whereas the crowd noise is a bit loud - a bit - it adds to the buzz of a GREAT night out!

I went to this place two nights in a row. This is my current favorite restaurant and I hope to try everything on the menu at some point. The staff remembered us from the previous night. I highly recommend the wings the pork curry with the coconut rice and make sure to order the habanero sauce to go with everything. I can’t wait to go back again.

Google
Excellent tea leaf salad as raved. Very good bao and wings. Chicken katsu cooked well but bland and accompanied by a thick and somewhat sour sauce that didn’t work for me. Glad I had the bao house hot sauce. Coconut cake was a hit. Subtle and steady flavor that’s hard to find. Overall, highly recommend. Like the staff, space and decor. Will return to try noodles and curry.

Yelp
From start to finish, my and my boyfriend's experience here was fantastic. We started with the crispy angel wings, which had the perfect crispiness but were a bit light on flavor. The tea leaf salad was decent, but not a standout. The highlight of our meal was the oxtail stew. The meat was incredibly tender and rich in flavor, absolutely delicious! Paired with the garlic noodles, which were seasoned just right and cooked to perfection, our main courses were a delight. For dessert, we had the black sesame panna cotta, and it was divine--smooth, creamy, and the perfect way to end our meal. The service was great--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Even though the restaurant is small and only has one restroom, the cozy atmosphere and amazing food more than made up for it.

Yelp
Love love love their Bao! It's the most delicious one I've had! I like their veggie and shrimp- but very different. Shrimp is like slathered with garlic- so you must like garlic lol Veggie is perfectly marinated veggies perhaps in a teriyaki glaze! It's delicious. The restaurant inside is quite large compared to east it looks in the outside- parking is tough, but food is worth it. They get pretty busy- so waits can be long too- but nothing like SF.

Yelp
We came on a weekday night (right before 5:30pm) and was definitely perfect timing because this place gets packed! They had plenty bar seating and tables - definitely low light setting but lively. We were highly impressed by the bbq garlic noodles, and the short rib bao. In my opinion, it seems as though all the other dishes fell short. It seems as though they were consistently skimpy on the protein portions - we'd really only come back for the noodles, baos, sparkling lemonades AND the desserts! The panna cotta's were perfection! Other than that, our server was amazing. Attentive, despite how busy it was, and did it all with a smiling face. Glad we finally got to try it after months of wondering!

Yelp
The best Burmese food and one of the top Asian restaurants in Marin. The food is delicious and packed with flavor every time! Highly recommend their Crispy Angel Wings and BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles. But you really can't go wrong ordering anything off the menu because it's all amazing.

Elise C.

Yelp
Went here with the family for the first meal of our vacation and loved everything about this place! Highly recommend! Wish I could eat here everyday.

Yelp
Still one of the better dining experiences in Marin at the moment: celebratory, fun, and delicious. Burmatown has expanded into a newer space in the last year which is much larger than their previous tiny jewel box they operated for years. I've always appreciated the food here, but now they finally have a spacious and modern location, it's a pleasure to dine here. (The outdoor dining area and parklet is not as well appointed and less cozy on increasingly cold fall nights.) Definitely order their ribs (we prefer their fried version to the stewed) and I enjoy their seafood dishes. The garlic noodles and green beans are also delicious. Wine, beer and NA beverages.

Yelp
**Note: Ok we went there with our family with members born in Burma. So this is coming from customers that are accustomed to the taste and preparation of actual Burmese food.** First off, with a name like Burmatown, you'd think that the menu is loaded with Burmese dishes. Nope. Less than 1/4 is actual Burmese. Sure they say that they have "Asian inspired fusion", but to the majority of the customers (of which were 95% non-Asian), I suspect they wouldn't know one type of Asian cultural dish from another. However, we did order the mohinga which is Burmese and was actually pretty good. Very salty dishes. Again, I suspect to cater to the American crowd, that taste was adjusted to the American palette. Burmese normally has a variety of exotic spices to flavor the dish instead. Secondly, prices!! Yeesh! I know Burmese food is all the rage now, but please go to an actual Burmese restaurant to experience real Burmese food without the inflated prices. Here are my takes: Not recommend: Kalbi ribs - mostly fat smothered in your off the shelf sugary teriyaki sauce Special miso cod - minimal portion of actual cod, maybe combined bite size pieces were the size of your computer mouse. Just ok: Garlic noodles - I know this isn't Tranh Long, but could be better. Crispy Angel wings - similar to Wing Stop "pork ribs" - forgot the name from the menu, but was alright Pretty good: Mohinga - fish soup Silken tofu salad - careful, might be too spicy for some Oxtail - nicely cooked and "fall off the bone", however could use more taste not salt Mango salad - light and refreshing, although they use stringy mangos Dessert - Acai tapioca and banana bread pudding Service was tops. Attentive staff and very accommodating. I suspect being in Marin, this is moreso the norm here. Lol. Overall, being Michelin noted, I would have thought the food would have been better. Again, this review is also from an actual Burmese family!

Yelp
Unfamiliar with the food scene in Marin, I relied on my friend and Yelp to find a spot for dinner. Burmatown was a halfway point for us since I work in Marin and my friend lives in the area. A bustling environment, slow service, decent food, and great company are how I'd sum up my experience. I'm a Burmese cuisine enthusiast and I was underprepared with how popular Burmatown is. Coming for dinner on a weeknight the restaurant was loud and packed to the brim. There's a good amount of tables, booths, and a bar inside all close to one another. Plus a spread out, quieter, and casual outdoor dining area. Most diners are neighborhood locals and I'd recommend coming here with friends, family, or a date since it's a casual spot. Due to being a favored restaurant--be mindful that service is quite slow. There are lots of staff working but it took time to have our order taken and be served our food. The service was curt but minimal and not attentive; it took roughly an hour to get our dishes. My friend and I have certain allergies and restrictions but were content with the options available. He and I shared: Small Tea Leaf Salad, BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles, Coconut Chicken Curry with Squash, and Jasmine Rice. The tea leaf salad we got without peanuts and is a must--classic dish, unique, and will tickle your tastebuds. The garlic noodles were good to share and had a good bounce. It was light on the garlic and piled high but I wish the meat wasn't tough. The curry was fine but didn't stand out. It wasn't a thick curry but runnier. I appreciated how much tender chicken they provided but the squash was a bit hard. We left with takeout boxes for all items but enjoyed sharing family style. For those unfamiliar with Burmese food this is an all-right introduction. I'd say Burmatown is more so Asian fusion geared towards an American palette. They have appetizers, main dishes, and desserts--it's affordable, portions are big and good to share, service is nice but super slow so be warned! Parking is limited out front or on the street since it's off of Tamalpais Drive. It's a good option for Marin County but I prefer other options in the Bay Area.

Yelp
Best Burmese in Marin? Burmatown is, for sure. (It's the only one). On a cool and damp Saturday night, everyone in Marin seemed to have converged on it. Burmatown has great apps, big (for a Burmese restaurant) beer and wine menu. They stopped carrying what was my favorite nitrogen stout. I had been longing for it the last time I came) to have with a palatha. Oh well. The crispy angel wings ($14) were crispy and as big as chicken. Burmatown bao ($5.50 each) are like little soft tacos. We got one with ribeye and one with lemon shrimp. And, of course, the palatha and dip,$11, which was a bit too overcooked but still delicious.

Yelp
Seeing high Yelp ratings for Burmatown, we decided to check it out this evening, since we crossed the GG bridge for the day. There was a bit of a wait, but it wasn't for long. I think it was about a 15-20-minute wait for a table outside. And it was only 5:30 pm! Though to warn you, there were flies and you'd have to keep batting at them while eating! So if I had to choose again, I'd say indoors is best, but I'm sure the wait would have been longer! Burmatown staff were personable, nice, and attentive. They refilled our waters and checked on us while eating. We chose a few of their most popular items on the menu. So glad we did! We were quite satisfied! Tea Leaf Salad was tasty and unusual with the different seeds and such in it. (Burmese fermented tea leaves, green cabbage, romaine hearts, dried shrimp, mixed Burmese beans, peanuts, seeds, fried garlic, jalapeño, tomato, lemon, and fish sauce.) 4/5 Crispy Angel Wings were really good! (Lightly battered wings dipped in house-made chili garlic gochujang sauce with sesame and cilantro.) I think this was our favorite among the dishes we chose. They were crispy, and sweet yet not overly sweet and they had some tang to them as well. It was perfectly balanced. LOVED the wings!! YUM!!! 5/5 Spicy Hawaiian Kalbi Ribs had some kick with savory and sweetness much like you'd expect for Korean Kalbi! Plenty of garlic noodles and a good amount of ribs fill the plate. This isn't a Burmese dish, but a fusion dish. 5/5 Platha and dip was nice! (Crispy multi-layered flaky bread coconut curry dipping sauce) Platha was crispy and flakey! The curry dipping sauce was flavorful. The edges were extra crunchy, enjoyable and SO GOOD! 5/5 Great spot with great food! So if you're ever in the area, try Burmatown!!

Yelp
Jenny (chef) , Jennifer (daughter - co-owner) Mike (Manager), Brie (Bar Manager) make this place fabulous!!! Get there early...the place fills up quickly. And remember to ask for Jenny's "special sauces"....

Yelp
How have I never reviewed this spot? It is hands down our favorite restaurant in the North Bay. I've never been to an authentic Burmese restaurant, so I am judging solely on quality of the food and kindness of the staff - 100% worth the drive, cost, experience! We try to go as often as we can; usually after hikes in the area or on our way to SF for date night. Anytime is a good time! We usually luck out on the wait because we hit it early to avoid the crowds which is a bonus since it's a good 45 minute drive already to get there. Their wine and beer list has steadily improved over the years which is nice because their food is and has always been top notch in our book. Favorites every time for us are Angel wings and the tea leaf salad. I love the bbq pork noodles, after that we switch it up and it depends on how hungry we are. This is one of those spots that if you can it is worth saving room for dessert because it is worth the calories! Super nice family owned spot; completely reasonable prices and always delicious food. Such a delightful treat and local gem.

Yelp
Whenever I'm around Marin, I make it my mission to make sure I visit Burmatown. My sister first took me here when she used to live in the Bay and I've been hooked ever since. MUST-HAVES: - Angel Wings: Some of my favorite wings ever ever ever. I remember having these for the first time and telling everyone when I got back home how good these were. I could honestly just order several platters of this and call it a meal (talk about girl dinner!!!). - House Garlic Noodles: I love garlic. This a must-have side for me and one that my sisters and I get every time we visit. Just by itself, it is so good. While the 2 listed above are my must-haves, everything on the menu is wonderful. Their tea leaf salad is an excellent starter. It has a very unique flavor profile and is unlike any salad I've ever had before (in the best way possible). Their baos are also delicious!!! My personal fave bao is definitely the ginger chicken. I've also had their braised beef short rib which is very reminiscent to my mother's filipino home cooking. I love the environment in here as well. It is very inviting and the servers are always so nice. Definitely a must-stop if you're in Corte Madera. And if you're not in Corte Madera but are in the Marin area, I highly suggest going out of your way to try this. I'm so serious.

Elise P.

Yelp
So yummy every time! Love the crispy angel wings and BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles! I eat here at least twice a week and still want more. So good.

Julie B.

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday night at 7 PM. It was pretty busy. I had a bunch of people waiting for a table but we actually got seated within 30 minutes. the atmosphere is very laid-back. The staff is very polite and efficient would gift 10* for the service. it was attentive, yet discrete, we ordered : Burmese Bao with beef, Tea leaf sales - delicious ! Garlic shrimp stirfry with green beans. All of these dishes were amazing in flavors, not overpowering with spices. The portion were perfect to share for two people . The ginger lemonade was refreshing not too sweet ; wish they had free refills though. we, I will definitely get back; very casual spot for a nice night out in the middle of the week. They have plenty of outdoor seating too if you have pets

Oliver Y.

Yelp
We came in on this rainy Friday between Christmas and New Years. No reservation, no waitlist. Just walked in. Parking was to see in the dark and in the rain, so I dropped off my wife and went to go look for parking (found around the corner). Staff was cheerful and updated us on status. We got a table and ordered. 1 x Tea Leaf Salad 2 x Platha 1 x Pork & Shrimp dumplings 1 x Kalbi Short ribs To be honest, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. I have a rule that if I'm ever in Marin around dinner time, we eat here. But given the price, there was quite a bit of value here. Others seem to agree as the restaurant was packed and more came in out of the rain.

Adam D.

Yelp
Burmatown is really good. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Marin. You have to get there early to get a table. They open at 4:30. It's crowded and busy but very warm and welcoming ambiance. Every dish is excellent. So much so that none stand out from each other. We plan to eventually try everything on the menu. You have to pat a few bucks extra for hot sauce but it's worth it. That too is total bomb.

Corey D.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for most of my life, but had never really heard about Burmatown even though I have driven passed it a few thousand times. While Burmese food isn't widely available, this is a great introduction into the cuisine. Burmatown is extremely popular and has a line out the door almost every night. They don't accept reservations, but they do have a small patio area with heaters where you can sip on your drink while waiting for a table. We came here on Friday right when the doors opened at 4 pm and were seated right away. Throughout our meal, more and more diners started to fill the bar, tables, and other booths. Since we were trying Burmese food for the first time, it only felt right to order almost everything on the menu. For appetizers we got the Hoisin Glazed Ribs, 1 Ribeye and 1 Ginger Chicken Bao, and the Grilled Ribeye Steak Skewers. The ribs were very tender and drowned in the hoisin glaze. They provide wet wipes to clean your hands after, which you'll definitely need. The skewers were good, but there wasn't anything unique about the flavor. The ribeye bao buns are definitely worth trying. The bun is pillowy soft and the slaw on top was refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles, Shrimp Jalapeno Chow Fun, and Braised Beef Short Ribs in a Curry Sauce. Both noodle dishes felt more like a side, but the shrimp chow fun was more flavorful (portions were generous for both). I just wish the flavor was more apparent, but maybe that's not Burmese food? The braised beef curry gave off the same feeling as an American pot roast. I was hoping for a more pronounced coconut curry flavor. My recommendation, is to order only one noodle dish and order a couple entrees of meat or seafood, otherwise it'll be very carb-heavy. The ambiance was very sophisticated and the staff was very friendly (both servers and food runners!). There's plenty more items on the menu that I'd like to try. Definitely check them out!

Jessica Z.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place but left disappointed. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the service. The gentleman who served us was friendly, helpful and efficient. We ordered the tea leaf salad, bbq pork garlic noodles, 2 ribeye beef bao buns, and their seared scallop with corn risotto special. The tea leaf salad was a nice mix of textures but the fish sauce flavor was a bit overpowering (and we're Asian so fish sauce is practically in our DNA). Half the amount of fermented tea leaves would have been more than enough. The portions are very generous though. The small was more than plenty for a party of two. 3.5/5 Ribeye beef bao buns were good but not memorable. For $5.50 for a bun I expected a little more but I'm a sucker for bao buns so I always have to try it anytime it's on the menu. 3.75/5 BBQ pork garlic noodles was probably my favorite out of everything we ordered. The noodles had good texture and were tasty. The pork was tender and plentiful. My only critique is that it was extremely salty. 4/5 The seared scallop special was underwhelming. The scallops were supposedly cooked in a coconut curry sauce. We did not taste any of the curry flavor what so ever. However, the texture of the scallop was on point. The corn risotto was more like risotto with a sprinkle of corn. The asparagus was well cooked but had absolutely no seasoning. This dish was overall very confusing. I have no idea what was going on but then again, in hindsight maybe we shouldn't have ordered risotto at a Burmese restaurant. 3/5

Yelp
I didn't take pictures because I was too busy enjoying the food. I had Tea Leaf Salad which was deeeelicious....so many interesting flavors, very fresh ingredients and a very large portion. Also I had the Veggie Stir Fry with Tofu and rice...very delicious. This is a very cute and intimate eatery and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I will be going back.

Lisa M.

Yelp
ONE WORD DELICIOUS This place is so good and one of my favs I recommend the garlic noodles and the Thai iced tea

Thu N.

Yelp
Another amazing dining experience at Burmatown! Thank you to our server (who is also the owner?) for the great vibes. :) - Garlic Noodles: Still just as amazing as the last time we got this dish. Also realized that this is the perfect portion size for a party of 3. - Tea Leaf Salad: I was mortified to realize that I forgot to tell the staff about my peanut allergy, and they were kind enough to remake the salad with peanuts on the side. :( Generous topping selection and portion size tossed tableside -- we'd order this again in a heartbeat. - Oxtail Stew: Nice and comforting on a cold and windy day. Comes with whole potatoes and large carrot chunks. This is superb with coconut rice! We swung by at around 7PM for dinner and were quoted about an hour wait for indoor seating. We eventually decided to brave the cold in order to eat sooner, which was honestly an equally great experience given the powerful heat lamps supplied for outdoor diners. Once all the other outdoor diners left, they were nice enough to bring another heater to us so that we were flanked on all sides by heat sources. Lowkey probably warmer outdoors than indoors at that point, and I loved it.

Maddy A.

Yelp
I must admit, I've been daydreaming about Burmatowm's garlic noodles ever since I first tried them months ago. I'm a huge fan of Burmese cuisine, and when I found myself pet sitting nearby, I knew I had to seize the opportunity to dine at this restaurant on Tamalpais. To start, I ordered the shrimp bao, and it was delightful--the slaw was refreshing, and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. For my main course, I savored the mushroom garlic noodles, which had just the right amount of spice. I absolutely adore this place and wholeheartedly recommend it!

Lorin S.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the entire menu with a great staff to help you! Loved the Bao, and especially the noodle dishes. My husband had the wings and devoured them. lol. Enjoy your dinner there, you won't be let down.

Yelp
Authentic flavors and dishes. We're lucky to have them in the neighborhood!! Dine in or take out Enjoy!!

Yelp
My husband and I came to this restaurant in one of our days traveling to the big city. RESERVATIONS - they don't take reservations, only for parties of six and over. Their phone is not always working, so texting to the phone number is better. We came in without our reservation and waited about 45 minutes. If you have to wait outside, there are some heaters in the waiting area THE STAFF - is AMAZING. From the person who took our names and put us in line through the waitress, the servers, the bartender. THE FOOD - we ordered a variety of dishes as it was our first time and we didn't really know what to order. Every dish was exquisite. The ribs were meaty and tender, the green beans were crunchy and delicious, the tea salad was super yummy, and the chicken curry with the coconut rice yummmmmmm. we actually took extra coconut rice for the leftover chicken and our son devoured it at home. RECOMMENDATION - will definitely come back here again. I wish the reservation. Wait time was shorter and easier but the food definitely compensated for it. Highly recommended for families.

Yelp
The coconut shrimp curry, too few shrimp!! The ribs are the best. Veggie platter is great. Tofu amazing.

Yelp
I've been to Burmatown a good number of times over the years, and was excited to visit their newer location. We arrived around 5 PM, and was advised that the wait would be about 10-15 minutes. We ended up waiting for over a full hour before we were finally seated. It was an incredibly difficult wait since we had a toddler with us as well. Unfortunately, our meal was put to a poor start with the wait being significantly longer than anticipated. We were grateful that the food was as good as we remembered it. Some of our favorite items were out of stock as well, so we were unable to get the braised beef short ribs. We tried the oxtail stew instead, which was quite good as well. Their garlic noodle was a favorite of ours, and it did not disappoint. Our toddler was a fan of it as well! He also enjoyed the coconut rice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but the wait being so off from expectations was incredibly disappointing. In the future, we may just opt for take out to avoid the wait.

Maya V.

Yelp
Incredible -- everything was delicious! The platha, bao, added tofu stir fry, garlic noodles, coconut rice and everything else we ordered. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The superstar, though? The guava panna cotta! I'm trying to plan my next trip to San Francisco around dining at Burmatown...

Brit T.

Yelp
Third time ordering on DoorDash this week 1st order, garlic noodles, dumplings and ribs 2nd order, dumplings and angel wings 3rd order, on its way. Dumplings and angel wings travel pretty well on delivery. I've yet to stop by in person, when I do.. I want to try my first order again. It was good but have a feeling may be better seated in the restaurant (ribs and sauce not really evenly distributed, the sauce was at the bottom and hard to reach) Overall, super addicting

Gary F.

Yelp
Good food, good portions, reasonable prices for post Covid, nice ambience, attentative and friendly service! One bathroom only, waited mins for an oncoming next shift employee to get changed. Will be back tho

Lisa S.

Yelp
The food/menu was completely underwhelming. The famous Tea salad was ick. The restaurants in Marin County are so mediocre, people get excited over food they shouldn't. At maybe 8p PM, they said the kitchen was closing and asked us if we wanted any more food. They were literally putting chairs on top of tables and sweeping the floor while the four of us were still sitting there eating, and it wasn't even late! It was about the tackiest experience I've ever had in a restaurant.

Mike B.

Yelp
The only Burmese resto Marin.. they have been around for a but now, transferred over to a newer location, much bigger that can accommodate more tables vs the other spot where you were in the cold and space heaters had to be used. Can't go wrong with tea leaf salad, string beans and garlic noodles my go to when I come visit. Come early or later as lines form and wait times can be an hour or more. Service was good, little bit of a wait sometimes when they get real busy and that's pretty much everyday.

P. C.

Yelp
Came here just before it got crowded (5:30) and we could tell that we made the right decision seeing how full it got within minutes. I'm sorry I forgot our waitress' name but she was so attentive and sweet! Everything we ordered was fantastic! MUST ORDER: Tea Leaf Salad (refreshing starter to share) and you will notice one at almost every table. Staff member will toss table side. We also noticed the baos were very popular but we had too much food and didn't get to try these Sticky hoisin ribs: flash fried texture and fall off the bone perfect. Sweet and messy Special: Hokkaido scallops and corn risotto very good Mushroom medley garlic noodle: was served in a heaping bowl. Perfect for sharing. Burmese coconut cake: wasn't expecting it to be dense but it was good. Had tapioca inside and paired refreshingly with the mango ice cream.

Scott C.

Yelp
The food and service are amazing! A must try, you won't be disappointed. The food and the presentations make eating here tasty and fun! This bread pudding is the best I've ever had.

Austin F.

Yelp
Burmatown is in our top 5 favorite restaurants in Marin so we were very fortunate to be able to eat here for the first night of the new location opening. As always, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Usually with these soft openings you expect some hiccups but there were none. The new location is HUGE compared to the old, and the atmosphere/decor is so nice. The entire experience was perfect and we can't want to go back. Congrats guys!

Yelp
Loved it. From the service to the food, this place is a Marin gem. Tea leaf salad, garlic noodles, pork dish... all stellar.

Yelp
Wow this place is by far the tastiest place to eat in Marin that I have eaten at thus far. Absolutely phenomenal, *chef's kiss* amazing. I ordered takeout (delivery) on a Saturday night, and the wait time was about 1 hour but when it arrived, WOW. This is probably the best fried chicken wings I have ever had, and I love fried chicken. Surprisingly, even though I ordered takeout, the Angel wings were still perfectly crisp and the chicken skin is very surprisingly light (because they sent from heaven). The ribs are just as amazing. I honestly could just order the fried chicken, the ribs, and a side of rice and I'd be set. I had extra ribs leftover and I ate it the day after and it was just as amazing as fresh-that's a miracle. The bbq pork garlic noodles were on the salty side (and of course very garlicky), but the bbq pork complemented the saltiness with that sweet char-siu flavor. Overall this is a must!

Yelp
Not sure why it has taken me soo long to check this place out. It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time! Wait time was about 30 mins for a party of 3 6:30pm on a Wednesday. There is a cute wine bar across the street to spend some time at or Burmatown also offers drinks outside while you wait. We had the tea leaf salad, angel chicken wings, special bao bun, special scallops dish and a ribeye udon stir fry. We also enjoyed a really special and unique bottle of wine. Every single thing I ate was pretty much the best tasting thing ever. The tea leaf salad had a crazy unique flavor - delicious and unlike anything I have ever tasted before. The scallops were my favorite i've ever had and the udon noodles omg so amazing!! Service was great, especially considering they were packed the entire time we were here. I cannot wait to come back soon, continue exploring the menu and checkout the bar next time! So happy to have Burmatown close by.

Yelp
We came here this evening because of the multitude of 5-star reviews... so glad we did! We were greeted by a lovely hostess, who was quite friendly and truly happy to see us. There was a short wait because we arrived at the start of dinner rush, but their text messaging system kept us in the loop for our wait time, so that was convenient. Our waitress was Brianna, who offered us stellar service... she was friendly, knew the menu well and offered suggestions, as well as asking about any possible food allergies that they should be aware of! Brianna checked in with us often during our meal and ensured the best dining experience possible! The menu offered a number of delicious Burmese and Asian dishes, and although the selection was not overwhelming, it was really diverse. We finally chose an appetizer of Vegetarian Samosas, which were incredible. Bursting with freshness and flavor and wrapped in a delightful crispy shell, and served with a sweet sauce which complimented them perfectly. For dinner, we chose a Minced Pork with Vegetables dish that was wonderfully spiced and served with rice. It was plentiful and delicious! We also had an order of Curried Chicken with Squash, which was perfectly seasoned and we ordered a side of Coconut Rice which was fragrant and slightly sweet. This complemented the chicken well. We had house made Ginger Lemonade and Jasmine Iced Tea and both beverages tasted fresh and clean. And finally, we chose the Burmese Coconut Cake for dessert which was creamy and not overly sweet, and served with fresh raspberries. Overall a delightful mean and experience and we will certainly come back to Burmatown again to try more of their incredible offerings!

Yelp
We really like this place! We had the everything we've had has been absolutely delicious. My favorites are the Bao and garlic noodles. Their dessert are also to die for. It's never too sweet and the menu changes. The Bao has incredibly delicate pita type bread. The slaw on top is fresh, crunchy and a little sweet. The meat is on another level of delicious. It's tender and literally melts in your mouth. The chicken curry is incredible. The chicken is very tender and the curry spice is not overwhelmingly. The pumpkin is not over done The garlic noodles are one of the best I've had in the Bay Area. Believe it or not, the garlic is not over the top and the serving is a pretty good portion. Their dessert? Wow! I've had the ube (purple yam) tapioca with young coconut meat. I've also had the mango tapioca with matcha ice cream. They were not overly sweet and it was very refreshing. Note: They open at 4PM and the line grows quickly since there's only 2 tables inside and 10 tables outside. Parking can also be a challenge though we've never had either problems since we come early. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
If I can give more than 5 stars, I would. This place deserves all the recognition! I'm not in the area like ever, but I would come here just for this place. Things you should know: parking is challenging as it's in the middle of residential and on the main street. It's small. And the wait begins at 430pm-5pm. My friends and I went in, you can probably tell by the pics! We ordered almost everything and one of my friends is Burmese and was impressed which, I think, says a lot. For my fellow POCs, we did notice that we were the only ethnic group in the entire outdoor area. But don't let that make you miss out on this place. There's so much we ordered to even name them all but the highlights for our table were the Mohinga (fish chowder), short rib curry, garlic noodles, bao tacos, and ube and match desserts. Mohinga comes with noodles so it's a soup. It's not hella fishy which was good and also had such great flavor. The short rib was tender and fell off the bone. The curry had a nice kick to it as well. Garlic noodles were tasty and not your typical oily noods. The bao tacos were bomb, I think the coleslaw is what made it stand out. The ube pudding, we expected it to be like jello, but it was a pleasant surprise when we saw it was more like tapioca and saucy. Matcha panna cotta was perfection, you definitely could taste the authentic matcha in it. Every dessert came with ice cream so just be cautious of that. We obviously couldn't eat all of it but we also ordered like 4 desserts, haha! Left this place with a happy heart and a full stomach. I really wish they open a location in the East Bay, I would probably come here all the time haha!

Yelp
First experience last year was fabulous food. This year everything was mediocre. Too bad...

Yelp
The best restaurant in Marin!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Their Tea Leaf Salad is the best I've ever had. There is not a bad item on the menu!

Yelp
Ambiance was ok, nothing special but overall, loved the happy hour specials and again the grace of all the servers and service

Yelp
This is a restaurant that everyone should try at least once. You will not be disappointed. The food is amazing. The flavors are unique and the portions are just right. Staff is friendly, attentive and the owners are always present. Everyone who works at the restaurant appears to support one another. The chef even comes out of the kitchen and checks in with customers. Ambiance is fantastic. Great use of a medium size space. Huge improvement from their previous location. The tables are far enough apart that you can have a conversation without having to include people at the next table. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Yummy food and kind service. I got a pic of the tea leaf salad. We also had shrimp, spare ribs, and a boa bun. Parking was a bit sketchy on a busy street.
