Stanley Marketplace Is Losing Its Winery | Eater Denver

"A 72-year-old building at 476 South Broadway is slated to be transformed into a new three-story restaurant and bar featuring a main-floor dining room, bar and kitchen, a second-floor coffee bar occupying roughly half the level, and a third-floor west-facing deck with stairs up to a rooftop bar. The project is led by a local hospitality operator with experience in Jackson, Wyoming; an executive chef search is underway and the owner does not expect the venue to open for over a year." - Paul Albani-Burgio

BurnDown is a great South Broadway spot—fun energy, solid food and drinks, and one of the best rooftop patios in the city. The space itself is impressive and feels built for gathering, whether you’re there for music, drinks, or just hanging out. I participated in their art markets, which really shows how much they support local artists and makers. A lively, well-designed place that does a great job bringing community and creativity together.

Recently visited Burn Down Restaurant, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! We ordered a few dishes to get a feel for the menu, Hangover Burger, Short Rib Mac and Cheese, and Salmon Fritter. I have to say, each dish was outstanding! The burger was Juicy, flavorful, and the perfect balance of ingredients. The patty was cooked just right, and the toppings complemented it beautifully. The short ribs were tender and rich, and paired with the creamy mac and cheese, it was a comforting and indulgent dish. The flavors blended together so well. The fritters were crispy on the outside, with a tender salmon interior. They were light but packed with flavor. The only hiccup during the meal was a slight delay in receiving our check, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was top-notch. All in all, Burn Down Restaurant definitely knows how to serve up delicious, satisfying meals. Will be back for sure!

George was awesome! He was very personable, gave recommendations and was attentive! Fun breakfast place to hit before a Broncos game. Food was delicious, great price and perfect portion size. We will be back!

Google
I dream of the cauliflower & mushroom orecchiette and the wild mushroom pappardelle 🤤 service is top notch and the bartenders are always willing to answer our weird cocktail questions. I LOVE the live music choices I've attended so far and the rooftop space is lovely. One suggestion: please bring back the dessert pretzel bites that came with the icing so I can buy several pounds of them!

Google
Great place for large parties and love the open bar and seating on the third floor! First floor was closed when we went but second floor is a nice open area with tables that you get seated at, bar seating is open of course! But I love the amount of space it provides and love the pool tables on the second floor! Love the atmosphere for sure and you don’t feel cramped at all. The third floor does food order and drink orders at the bar and then you seat yourself… and rooftop of fourth floor is so nice, decent amount of space and great views! Plenty of space! The drinks were delicious! I would 100% come here again for date night or drinks with friends! We even did a shotski with green tea shots!

Great spot for Sunday brunch! We got here early and the place was pretty quiet. We were able to enjoy brunch with drinks and watch some football!

We had an excellent experience with BurnDown for our National Networking Night. The spread of food was phenomenal, and the staff were extremely helpful with our set up. We will definitely be back!

Google
Came to Denver to visit my daughter. She brought me here for the coconut shrimp & city views from the rooftop. Every floor of this 4 story building is great. There's pool, darts, shuffle board, TV's with sports & a live band. If I lived here, I'd be here every weekend, so if you're in the area, I'd make it a point to stop by...
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Adding to my review- They have such a fun vibe on the third floor for Christmas! Be sure to make your way up there!! We tried the Steak Frites- it was SO good!! Service is always quick even when they are busy. We love this place and will always come back!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night, and it was my first time coming to this area in a while. I had no problem finding street parking right across the way, which was nice. Inside, they are three floors, but have a loft style build out, making the ceilings so high and the place feel really spacious, with its authentic log cabin and mountain fuel and matching decor. With TVs and comfy seating all over, it's a great place to watch sports, there's also a pool table. I had the blue velvet cocktail, and I'm a sucker for any drink with an egg white, but this was honestly so delicious. I also tried the Elote chips and dip appetizer, but was a little bit disappointed, I felt like the corn really lacked any seasoning. We tried the wings, too, I wasn't as much of a fan of the lemon pepper dry rub, I felt like they were a bit TOO dry, but the garlic Parmesan were really good. Their ranch sauce is also yummy. We also tried one of their burgers and the French dip sandwich, both of them were pretty good, nothing exceptional, but definitely happy with what I expected for bar food. Thanks!

Yelp
Really cool space with multiple levels and areas, good food, attentive servers (even during busy game days!) and overall a great place to catch a game! The Silk Suit wasn't quite my flavor (it was a more bitter drink than I usually like) but the Rosemary's Baby's Mule was much more my speed. The Mexican Street Corn Dip wasn't the best I've had, but it was a solid appetizer. The Nachos were excellent, piled-on toppings and a nice kick of heat! The Old Town Burger was good, but a little dry and was sweeter than I would have preferred. Can't complain about any of it, just some of the items weren't my preference and I'll just order some different things next time!

Yelp
BurnDown's a good place for food or drinks! I've been here about almost 10 times across my time here in Denver, and I can say I've never had a bad time. It does get a bit crowded, but that's to expected of a place people like. I like the idea of multiple levels with the main floor being the closest to the restaurant environment. The food is decent, but on the pricier side. It's a reliable spot for big planned parties and impromptu quick grab of food and drinks. The drinks are pretty good with interesting concepts. A little playful, I like that. Definitely one of the fav spots to go to!
google avatar

Magda C.

Yelp
Very good food, I had vegan mushroom cauli pasta and it was tasty. Burgers as well, and service is great.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
This spot is a great place to watch sports. There are multiple levels with a mix of indoor and outdoor options. The food is good and so is the drink selection. Pro-tip: Broadway gets very challenging for parking especially on weekends. Be sure to read signs as some side streets are permit only! Ride share if you can.

Yelp
such a cool vibe! i sat on the roof & loved it. the servers were great. you ordered at the bar & then took a number to your seat & they somehow found you. this protein breakfast bowl was fire it's a huge spot with multiple levels & multiple bars to chose to. perfect for a game day or a big group to grab a meal. highly recommend. there's also water stations set up which is so nice to serve yourself
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Great little sports bar, outside seating is always a plus. The fries were good, very well seasoned and crispy. The turkey sandwich was great, the rosemary bread on it made is delicious. The nachos were top notch, very sloppy with toppings soaked through. The corn was also good, not spicy at all but still good. The drinks were okay. Service was attentive and quick.
google avatar

Madeline F.

Yelp
Cool spot and a great burger for a reasonable price. Only con was that the fries were a bit too cold but overall great experience
google avatar

Savannah K.

Yelp
Fun vibes, high energy. Restaurant was busy but we got a table on the roof pretty quickly. Food was all very tasty but the appetizer took nearly 40 min to come out - we had our meals before the appetizer and asked multiple people about it. Good drink options with a full bar.

Yelp
4 levels of food, fun and frolic. Here is my story: Looking for a place to dine and imbibe, my travel partner and I end up at BurnDown. This Establishment consists of 4 levels. I'm sure in the deep of summer, the 4th level can get a bit hot! But likewise during the winter it can be cold and maybe closed because of snow. The food is basically fried, and fried but dressed with a variety of sauces and dressings. Among the several dishes we ordered our favorite was the friend chicken drumettes which is seasoned, dusted in their "BurnDown Rub Style" season rub, then deep fried and served a dipping sauce of your choice. That Rub!!!! If I were a Denver resident and worked close by, BurnDown might become my HH place of refuge... LOL Parking no bueno ! Unless you go after 5:30 pm on the weekdays. DO NOT parkin the shopping area or Sam's Club or you will be towed Moderately priced! Service stable and relatively pleasant Repeat? More than likely if I'm in the area
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
I've been here a few times to drink and have always had an enjoyable time! The place is MASSIVE, but it still gets packed on the weekends and holidays. Finally stopped in to eat and was very pleasantly surprised with the food. We ordered the corn dip, pretzel bites, buffalo chicken wrap, southwestern chicken wrap, honey siracha chicken sandwich, BBQ pineapple burger, grilled salmon, and kids Mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Everything was great including the fries on the side, but they give you a zillion. Our cocktails - Rosemary's baby mule, old fashioned, pineapple margarita, and aperol spritz were also all good!
google avatar

Ali W.

Yelp
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food/drinks. There was a great happy hour menu too from 3-6 and day specials. (1) Coconut shrimp: super delicious and the sauce was perfection! (2) Corn dip: love the concept of this but overall my least favorite dish. Honestly didn't taste like much (3) Buffalo chicken wrap: Heavy on the buffalo sauce but good flavor. Sweet potato fries were delicious too Service was great Draft margarita cocktail was really well balanced and you could taste it actually had alcohol in it, which I like and not typical with draft cocktails. Beautiful views from rooftop deck and has pool. Tons of seating Pretty impressed! Will be back

Yelp
Loved this place!! The multi floor restaurant is soooo spacious. Plenty of sitting indoors, outdoors and the rooftop! Bars an be found on different floors for convenience. Our staff wasn't the nicest, he seemed bothered to take our order at the bar and made our first visit here a lil sour. But the food turned out everything around. We stopped in on a Sunday for brunch!! Got the hangover burger with fries, the Burndown breakfast with steak and the captain crunch French toast! The burger was delicious, fries were perfectly crispy. 10/10. The burndown breakfast was really good. Steak was perfectly cooked, very flavorful, soft and juicy! 10/10. The captain crunch French toast was the best French toast I have ever eaten!! It wasn't too sweet or soggy. It had a perfect crunch! The fruit filling was to die for!!! Could seriously have it every day. Parking is limited and on the street so plan accordingly! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
This review is more for the restaurant. We went later the same night to get a drink but it was a young rowdy college crowd which isn't our scene anymore when we just want a nightcap. The dinner we had was great! I had a delicious bean burger with avocado and coleslaw with a refreshing draft Hazy IPA. We went around 5 pm and were seated and greeted quickly at our table. Once we ordered, the food came quickly as well. The restaurant has a new meets old Western vibe with some quirky decor that was fun. We would definitely go back to have a meal.
google avatar

Yelp
BurnDown is absolutely one of my favorite places eat at and also take visiting family and friends! The restaurant has a unique feel and vibe to it being a former firehouse, operating with multiple floors and a rooftop. The menu is wide including brunch, lunch/dinner, and drinks (espresso martinis are half off on the weekends). I've always had good service over the course of 5-6 visits. My personal brunch favorites include the old broadway scramble, breakfast burrito, and street style breakfast tacos. For lunch/dinner, I highly recommend the buffalo chicken dip, french onion soup, or crispy coconut shrimp for starters, and the BurnDown burger or French dip for entrees (FYI: I have not tried anything off of the "mains" section yet but fully intend to for dinner sometime!) BurnDown is definitely worth the visit if you're a local or visiting!

Yelp
Always amazing drinks and food here! Great rooftop and tons of TVs for sports. Specials every day too! You do have to order your food and drink at the bar but the service is quick! Lots of options for seating and rooftop views! One of favorite places in Denver!
google avatar

Deborah M.

Yelp
Brought some out of town guests here for the sunset and they were impressed with the views and the food! Service is pretty non existent on the top floors because you basically order at the bar.
google avatar

Christian G.

Yelp
Take it with a grain of salt since it's just bar food but food was solid, drinks were fine, but what really stood out was the vibes of this multi story location. Lots to do really great pool tables and rooftop spots would recommend it's a good time and close to other bars on broadway
google avatar

Krista H.

Yelp
Yum! The food was very good. I would recommend any type of dish and you can't go wrong. Such a fun atmosphere and a great spot for a group party! We saw three birthdays being celebrated.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
We came here for a group brunch on a snowy Saturday and the restaurant was packed! It's on S Broadway in a warehouse brick building so it was easy to find. They have a 25 car parking lot and street parking. The interior is open, airy, and plenty of seating. Our waitresses Stephanie was friendly and professional. Service was quick. We started with non alcoholic drinks Croc with Socks ($9) and it was a delicious drink. I got a hangover burger with sweet potato fries ($17). My friends got the veggie scrambles. All the portions were generous. The burger came with hash brown, egg over easy, lettuce, smoked bacon, and tomatoes. The candied bacon was sweet and salty, so good. It was stacked so high that it's hard to eat with hands. I didn't care much for the fries. It was a bit over fried and crispy all over. The vibe is young and a great hang out place for brunch. Will be back again!
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Dead leaves and the dirty ground - cocktail was delicious! Herbal and citrusy, a wonderful balance. Sticky Asian salmon was the best meal I've had on this trip so far. Salmon was prepared medium well but still perfectly tender and moist, crispy on the outside. It was fresh and t Ambiance is nice. Nice and cool, not too hot or cold. Service is friendly and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Jeannie D.

Yelp
Hard YES!! This place is rad! It's massive! Great service, awesome food & open air bars!! It's a beautiful place, I absolutely recommend stopping in!!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Went for brunch and they have good prices and the food was good. Service was quick, nice and attentive. I'd have loved to sit on the roof top but the air conditioning while eating was also nice. I would go back for drinks in the roof top.
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
Great spot for day drinking. Most come for the outdoor views but we enjoyed Kelsey's service at the bar and decided to stick around at the second floor bar. We tried the wild mushroom papparedelle and it did not disappoint. The creamy sauce, the perfect texture to the noodles with the creamy sauce was beyond expectations for bar food.
google avatar

Heywood M.

Yelp
Lunchtime is pretty underwhelming. Between a cocktail for both of us, a sandwich, a burger with an upgrade to mac and cheese and gratuity it was $100. For that, you don't get a server. You walk up and order from the giant "order here" counter. Want water? Get it yourself out of a plastic cup and dispenser at the counter. Ordered a drink? Of course they don't bring it to you. You stand and wait for it and carry it to your table yourself. Need a to-go box? There's no service staff, so yup, you have to get up and flag someone at the bar/counter. Sandwich was solid. The mac and cheese was the best thing in the meal. But it'll be a LONG TIME before I spend $100 for only a burger and a drink and have to serve myself EVER again. Too pricy. And as I said at the top: underwhelming. Oh: and forcing your customers to tip for service ... before you've even gotten any "service"? WTAF? If I'd have known I was gonna be the server for half of it, gratuity would have been half of the 22% I did tip. Again: underwhelming.
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
Amazing service by Koree. Delicious food and they were very welcoming to my large group. I moved away from Denver and came back to get a bunch of friends together during a sporting event and they really worked hard to make it work! It's in a cool and walkable area but you won't even want to go anywhere else because the food, vibes and drinks are equally tasty!
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
First time at Burndown and it's definitely a great addition to Broadway! The space is awesome--four stories with two rooftop levels, perfect for enjoying a Colorado sunset with a view of the Rocky Mountains. We went for brunch and had a great experience. The Bloody Mary was excellent, and they were doing 50% off espresso martinis, which made them hard to pass up. I had the chicken and waffles with a jalapeño cheddar green chili, which was delicious. My friends got the scrambles, and the real standout was the French toast with blackberry cream that we all shared--seriously good. Service was quick and efficient: you order at the bar, and they find you to deliver your food. It's a great spot to meet up with friends, whether you have a small group or a big crowd. I wouldn't necessarily pick it for a date--it can get a little loud--but for a casual get-together, it's perfect. Heads up: parking in this area can be a pain, so plan ahead if you're driving. I'll definitely be back to check out a live music event, lunch, or dinner sometime!
google avatar

Blake H.

Yelp
We had a great experience at burn down. The atmosphere is stellar! This time we stayed on the 2nd floor which was great. Our food was very good and we received it quick. The beers were also very good. There were a lot of people at burn down but the service was still very good. I'd encourage anyone to go to burn down for any occasion!
google avatar

Lena S.

Yelp
Decided to celebrate my son's 21st bday here. We had just flown in from Dallas and was going to a Nuggets game later that night. So we were there around 4-6. The first floor was closed but when we were done, it was open. This place is huge and there's pool tables. My son and his buddies went to the rooftop to check it out but I was too cold lol Food- we got a little bit of everything and shared. The wings were underwhelming. The DU-Rita was our fave!!! Chicken street tacos- delish! The BurnDown Brussels were good too but too much bacon for my liking (I know- I'm complaining about the wrong thing! Lol) Nachos pretty good too. Honey sriracha chicken sandwich was ok. My son's first drink was Spray Tan (as suggested by the bartender I feel horrible I don't recall her name). And then she came over and took a shot with him (see pic)! Great service! I loved the vibes and once everyone got off work the place was getting packed!
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a large group of friends to celebrate. We enjoyed our meal but I'm not sure I'd return based on the menu or atmosphere. They had some live music/dj/party going on and more than once there was someone shouting into a microphone which overpowered the whole restaurant. Not entirely sure what was going on but it felt a bit intrusive despite my group being situated at the edge of the restaurant. I didn't love the appetizers (nachos and hummus) or my entree (mushroom pasta). The chicken tenders and burger had good reviews by others in my group. +1 attentive service when the waitress was around +1 accommodating large parties and allowing for separate checks +1 good location -1 bar food at expensive dine in prices (it was pretty good bar food, but too pricey for nachos, hummus, burgers and fries) -1 slow service, hard to get the waitress' attention
google avatar

Gi K.

Yelp
I recently visited Burndown for drinks with a few friends. I absolutely love the open roof top and picnic tables on the third and fourth floor. The first and second floor is more of a restaurant setting. I got to get a few beers and cocktails at the bar. The bartender was quick and efficient. They provided their recommendations and was able to make personalized cocktails as well. I didn't get to try the food but for a place to hangout, good ambiance, and drinks... Burn down was nice
google avatar

T J.

Yelp
Went for the University of Miami watch party where we usually get the sound for the game. Midway between the game, the manager came over and told us he was turning off the sound for music. I drove all the way from Aurora and would've stayed home had I known they would do this?
google avatar

Katie F.

Yelp
My mouth is watering writing this review. The food we chose was SO good I would eat this Asian salad every single day. Ambiance is 10/10 for fun and date night - drinks, music, lovely.
google avatar

Vonya W.

Yelp
Very welcoming place. Loved the vibe. Got the option to sit down stairs for full service or upstairs for bar service only. We chose to sit down stairs. Loved this place and all it had to offer with food and drinks. We even watch the Longhorn and Aggie game while eating. Next time we're in town we'll definitely stop by. The live music and the staff were amazing.
google avatar

Ryan S.

Yelp
The service and food were definitely above standard expectations. The first floor was decorated with Halloween decorations and had a great vibe.
google avatar

Brena E.

Yelp
I came here for lunch during the week. It's a huge space, but parts were closed down and it was pretty quiet during lunch. They didn't have a server at the table, so you order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. I ordered a half Caesar and it was huge! It was spicier than I like, but that's just personal choice.
google avatar

Shin M.

Yelp
Sat on the first floor with a pre booked reservation. Got the steak frites again. This time was better than the last My friend got the mushroom pasta dish. It was very flavorful.

Yelp
If there is a bar that has it all, it is definitely BurnDown! How so, you ask? Let me tell you! great food? CHECK! From pasta to salad, sandwiches, burgers, and nachos, they have it all and it is all executed so well! great bar program? CHECK! My old fashioned was a classic AND perfect old fashioned. An espresso martini on draft that's actually delicious is always amazing great location? CHECK! I love South Broadway! I've been on a kick of exploring that area and it's always a blast great service? CHECK! from the hostess to our server, everyone was so nice! great layout? CHECK! They have a restaurant on the first floor with an amazing bar, another full bar on the second floor (with trivia on Wednesdays!), AND a roof top bar! great view? CHECK! Mountains!! I went at night :( which means that I just need to go back during the day) great name? CHECK! It used to be a furniture store that...burned down... that's amazing! (Not the burning down part - just the name ) what I ordered: steak nachos, mushroom pappardelle pasta, burn down burger with sweet potato fries, espresso martini, the first season of true detective (old fashioned), 70s playboy, and oasis reunion tour best bite: the burn down burger was insanely good - the Tabasco grilled onions were a game changer for me PLUS the nachos...I ate so many because they were that good. Every single one hits the spot!

Tempy T.

Yelp
Will start with what I liked: - Great atmosphere, overall a pretty cool place. Multi level, and a roof. - Also, food was very good. We got a roasted corn salsa for the table, which was very tasty. I had the steak frites as a main, perfect medium rare, nice sear, really enjoyed it. - Cocktails were also good - ordered an Ume Smash, would get it again. - Kitchen is open late, another plus. My main hang-up is the service model. You order everything at the bar, wait for your drinks, and they run your food out to you. We were a group of 7, looking to settle in, grab a bite; some drinks and chat. Somebody was always up at the bar ordering, and we were always shuffling around to accommodate that. Sort of killed the vibe... That said, I will probably go back.
google avatar

Isaac A.

Yelp
I got some great orange wheat beer and an awesome sweet Sriracha chicken sandwich. The fries had a lot of great flavor and seasoning, so much so that I only used ketchup on the lesser seasoned ones. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. The top two floors were less active that night, but the first two were busy.
google avatar

Tod B.

Yelp
Ok followers my wife came here with her girls and loved it so I thought I would come to see what it was all about and yea this spot is LIT The setting , the food , the atmosphere Server was a little off but you get that sometimes. We had the nachos and the cheeseburger both were very delicious and tasteful. Big screen TVs for my guys that want to check out some Saturday and Sunday games with the boys Would definitely return to try another meal Thanks team
google avatar

Carolyn P.

Yelp
This spot has had a total revamp and it's now a really cool multi story space for food and drinks. Want a rooftop? They got it? A cozy booth? Have that too. Some live music on a deck? Check. Super fun and great food and drinks at any of the bars in the place
google avatar

Antoinette R.

Yelp
The food is amazing with good flavors & variety, the pricing wasn't bad either. Drinks were also good. The service was great and the ambience was very nice. It was actually kind of funny when we walked in because we had never been and the host greeted us with " what can I do for you?"... I thought um...we would like to eat here? Haha.
google avatar

Ben P.

Yelp
I was in Denver for work and came across BurnDown with a co-worker on a Wednesday night. Place was busy but not overcrowded. Service was great and food was delicious - ordered a steak medium rare and was a little more on the RARE side. Overall great place to hang out!
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
BurnDown is a super cool new spot on Broadway with amazing views of the mountains and the sunset. This bar has 4 levels with each level offering a slightly different setup. I was with a birthday party on the 3rd level which accommodated about 40 people. I ordered the Muffaletta sandwich which was a simple sandwich filled with Italian meats and provolone. The sandwich came with an olive spread which added a little bit of spice and flavor to the sandwich. I loved the shoestring fries. They were crunchy and had a hint of rosemary to add a little extra something. The bar to order drinks was packed and a little chaotic but the bar tenders did a great job of sorting through the mass of people. The 3rd level is opened up covered,patio-style which was a perfect place to be on a Colorado Summer evening. The west side of the building offers a balcony which reminded me of a New Orleans building layout. If you're there for sunset you can catch an amazing view of the sun setting behind the mountains. Be sure to check this place out!

Yelp
What a fun space! 4 to 5 floors of different dining experiences with delicious food and drink! Came up here after pride with some friends and had a blast! Service was on point on beyond was energetic, and the company was perfect! Loved our cocktails and devoured our meals. Highlights for the pasta and the shrimp appetizer for me!

Yelp
Went on Saturday at 10 am. The veggie scramble was outstanding, great flavor. The Capt Crunch was very good but slightly over cook, Lots of berries. George our server very friendly and shy. This place has great views of the city and foothills. The manager gave us a great story of the history of the building.
google avatar

Yelp
Have been a few times before this past Saturday and the food and service used to be reasonable. However, on Saturday night we ordered elote dip and it was severely underwhelming. Added salt. Didn't help. Added hot sauce from sleuthing around the bar on third floor...nope. Corn was cold and the vibes were even colder with the bartenders. They all seemed annoyed to help the patrons. I waited for 8 minutes for a BEER while a bartender behind the bar played on his phone and the other guys were all standing back to customers. Nope. Too many other great options in Denver. This is one of those places that attracts out of towners and nano influencers posting the view to their 18 followers.
