Butch McGuire's

So glad we found this little gem today! Love the history and that a lot of the staff has worked here for years and contributed to the decor. The Reuben egg rolls were so delicious and unique and would come back for these alone!! All the food and service was great! Also kid friendly

Some of the best folks in Chicago! You can tell the staff there really loves the bar and it shows in their actions and in the food! Great vibes!

This is a pretty solid choice for food and drink. We were there for lunch and the food was good and atmosphere aided by pretty interesting decor. Don't expect them to get a Michelin star any time ever, but if you're looking for a quick bite and a beer, this is a very reasonable option.

We met here for our Speakeasy tour with Jonathan. This is a great location. Loved everything about Butch McGuire's.

the bar is just the kind of place you want to hang out on st paddy’s. it was $20 cash cover charge at the door, but they did not limit how many people were in the bar based on that; the entire place was extremely crowded. which was to be expected. the drinks were great. the bathrooms were not up to par in my opinion; in the women’s restroom you can see into the stalls because the stall doors are only 3-4 feet tall so that is really uncomfortable. and in such a crowded bar, there was a sizable line for the bathroom. all in all, i wish they would have limited more the number of people that they let in at one time. it was better earlier in the day. but again, it was expected on the holiday.

The quintessential Chicago Christmas bar a must during the holiday season. My great uncle actually lent the money to Butch to open it.

Great Irish pub with lots to look at. Food was on point as well. The Rueben sliders were as good as the best Ruebens I’ve ever tasted and the Chicago dogs were thick and tasty. Definitely be back to Butch McGuire’s!

This was my second visit to Butch McGuire's. The first time, I got their burger and a side salad. Both were delicious. This time, I got the Rueben. Wow! Fantastic. The bread was wonderful. There was quite a bit of meat and sauerkraut stuffed inside. It was very filling. I also got the side salad again. I tasted a couple of the French fries, and they have a great seasoning on them. I was also excited to see that this time, the soup of the day was the chicken tortilla soup. I missed it last time. It was everything I expected. The chicken was flavorful, the soup part was a little spicy, and the avocado and crunchy tortillas topped it all off. Also, our server was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Chicago!
