Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings

"Cabana Club is a poolside bar and restaurant on East Cesar Chavez with private cabanas you can book for a bit of shade. It’s open all day, with about 20 different draft cocktails and beer, plus food from the Pueblo Viejo team (but not the same menu as the truck). If things get too hot by the pool, there’s also an indoor clubhouse. " - nicolai mccrary

The Best New Cocktail Bars in Austin Right Now, September 2024

"Austin’s so hot it’s got not one but two swimming pool bars. This newer one, which opened in Govalle in late June, boasts all sorts of cocktails, many of which pair perfectly for dips in the pool, such as margaritas, highballs, frozens, sparkling wine-based drinks, and fun shots. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Cabana Club is one of my favorite spots in the city. The atmosphere is always lively, and the pool area is the perfect place to relax with friends. I recently went to a comedy show there and was genuinely impressed — great talent and such a fun crowd. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Brittany Keller. She brings so much energy and professionalism; Cabana Club wouldn’t be the same without her.

If you're looking for the ultimate Austin day-to-night destination, Cabana Club is it. This place is a hidden gem that effortlessly blends relaxation, great food, and vibrant energy. ☕ Morning Vibes: Start your day with premium coffee from Progress Coffee Roasting and a delicious breakfast from Grey’s Kitchen. It's the perfect spot for remote work or a casual meetup. 🍹 Poolside Paradise: The adults-only pool area is a dream. Lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and cabanas and daybeds can be rented for a more private experience. The pool is open during the warm months, providing a refreshing escape. 🍴 Food Trucks Galore: With three on-site food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, there's something for every palate. From tacos and guacamole to sushi and elevated bar food, the options are diverse and delicious. 🍸 Evening Energy: As the day transitions into night, Cabana Club transforms into a lively lounge with a full bar offering a wide selection of cocktails, including the popular espresso martini. The ambiance is perfect for happy hour or a night out with friends. Whether you're working remotely, enjoying a meal, or unwinding by the pool, Cabana Club offers a unique and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Had a great time on 4/20! Easter sunday , fun egg hunt with great edibles inside the eggs!! ! Very fun vibe , lots of umbrellas for shade. not too crowded so we got a great poolside table! the standard cocktail Menu drinks are way too sugary ! couldn’t drink them! the bees liked em though! sushi was good 👍🏼 we will return. they definitely need some food options !

Google
Good food trucks, sun and fun and lots to drink! Great place to hang with friends out by the pool or inside at the bar! There is food certain times of day from their kitchen! Otherwise check out the Sushi guy and others outside. Drank a lot of Sun Cruiser here! Staff all very friendly! Will come here again when back in Texas!

Cabana Club Austin is hands down one of the best spots I’ve discovered in the city. The atmosphere is laid-back yet vibrant — perfect for a relaxing day with friends or a fun night out. From the poolside vibes to the curated cocktails and friendly staff, everything feels thoughtfully designed. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail — whether it’s the music, the decor, or the overall experience, you can tell they care about creating a top-notch environment. It’s the kind of place where time flies because you’re genuinely having a great time. Highly recommend if you’re in Austin and want something stylish, social, and memorable. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
You can probably count on one hand the number of bars you know with pools. Weekend brunch is a destination. The vibe is fun and comfortable and there is plenty of space indoors and out. And if you miss brunch there are food trucks. This may be my new favorite event venue.

Google
This review is strictly for the Sunday bachata nights. Not their food or service. We had a good time here. A great vibe, lots of great dancers and music. However, it was sweltering in there! Bring personal fans and a change of shirt. Baby powder doesn't hurt either for a smoother floor. All in all, had a good time.

Yelp
This place literally does it all!! They have events just about every night and appeal to people of all interests. The espresso martinis here are SO good. If it's cold (aka below 70 in Austin) the cinnamon hot drink they make will warm you up and it is delicious. The staff is consistent (not a different wave of employees every 2 weeks like many places) and they're all friendly and welcoming (except Chris). The indoor and outdoor space both have plenty of space and a variety of seating options. And your fur babies are allowed inside. The food truck schedule is a kind of hit or miss (more often miss) just because they don't seem to operate on actual schedules, but the bar has no control over that. I love that I can go to one great place for such a variety of things. This place is not even a year old yet, I can't wait to see what fun things they'll bring to the Eastside in the remainder of their first year.

Yelp
Happened to pass Cabana Club at 9am on Saturday morning while heading to our accommodations when arriving in Austin. It caught my eye because there were a ton of people outside, like a day party but in the am! All week I was trying to get here to see what the hype was about. Finally stopped in on a weekday and it was dead. It was about 10am on a Tuesday for reference and there were literally two people inside. We did end up ordering lattes. Mine was pretty good but there was nothing going on that day. More disappointing was that there was no way to purchase a breakfast sandwich or pastry to go along with the latte. We snapped pics and chilled for a bit, but clearly we showed up on the wrong day. I can see this being a fun hangout in the summer, they have a nice pool area and deck. Maybe next time.

Yelp
Cabana Club is a cool co-working spot in Austin to work and chill out. This place can really get jumping with lots of people who are working and/or calling it quits early on a weekday! The coffee is really good and sure the drinks are as well! Inside there are tons of spaces to chill and work, while outside has multiple spaces, including cabanas to chill in. Apparently, this is the spot to work and chill at!

Yelp
THE BIG: Coworking space meets bar meets pool. What a concept and I can see why this place is always packed...even in the dead heat of summer. Indoor area is airconditioned and decently quiet. Outside has fans that blow mist and a small pool to chill in. Parking is outside in front. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here on a Friday at 2pm, still needing to finish up some work and thankfully they have some fast wifi here. The outside space was crowded with people going in and out of the pool. There are cabanas for rent and waiters coming by to take drink orders. I hear the food is good and on Fridays, there are $3 draft beers from 12-6pm. If you're looking for something more quiet. The indoor area provides that, however it is a little loud (music-wise) to have an important call. Moreso casual heads down work. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, I typically grab a beer during Fridays so my tab isn't too high. But glad that this place is here and looking forward to spending more time here.

Yelp
Oh, wow. I have nothing. But good things to say about this new business. I love that they open daily at 7 am. Earlier mornings/days are best for us. There's just no way we can hang with the kids and their dj pool parties. Don't get me wrong I would absolutely love it. But it's a younger crowd. Anyway, the staff is so incredibly nice. The iced coffee drinks are primo. The pool, cabanas, patio. Perfection. Pool is sparkly clean and right temp at all times.

Yelp
I attended the "Full Circle x Nike Studios Jingle Jog" running event on December 15th that Cabana Club graciously hosted. Though I did not order any food from the club (they had a brunch buffet that looked amazing), the hosts provided some tasty and nourishing samples of beef jerky and tart Cherry juice by Cheribundi. We did some warmup exercises and then a 3-mile run through the streets and nearby trail. After the run, Fitcidence led a joyful, exuberant dance workout that left us all feeling great and energized. The pool looked inviting, but it was too cold to jump in. All in all, Cabana Club was a great venue not only for enjoying its amenities but for hosting workout events.

Yelp
From the outside it might not look like anything special, but the inside feels like a well decorated, perfectly balanced vibe of coffee, co-working space and cocktails. The friendly bartenders can make all of your favorite espresso drinks in the AM and whip up some mean cocktails later in the day. They have a large back patio to chill and enjoy a bite from the food truck (full kitchen menu coming soon). Beyond that is a dope pool area and another full bar. You could easily spend all day at this place!

Yelp
Parking: Huge parking lot, so no worries about finding a spot. Ambiance: Fun vibes with music on a Friday night, creating a lively, hopping atmosphere. Tons of folks in the pool area. Drinks: Good cocktails that hit the spot. Service: The bar service was solid, keeping the energy up. A pretty fun visit with great drinks, good music, and a lively crowd!

Yelp
Cabana Club is a really solid space and welcome new addition to Austin. (Fun) pool access can be hard to come by. I don't have a pool in my complex so I either use friends' pools or go as a guest to other pools around the city. What makes Cabana Club different is that aside from the pool, it has legit coffee, cocktails, and a space very conducive for casual working. I can easily see myself working from here, dipping in the pool, tanning, and then going back inside to reply to more emails. The pool area is very nice with tables and pool chairs all first come first serve, and the cabanas are available for rent. There is an outdoor shower, and a covered bar where the bathroom is in the pool area as well. I tried the Mo-jito cocktail because I was interested in how the "coconut milk mint foam" would be. As a fan of cream top cold brews, this mimicked the idea with a sweet, airy and light foam top to the cocktail. It was a really refreshing take on a classic cocktail, and probably a lot easier for the bar staff to make. For food, they have Grey's Kitchen and some food trucks outside. While I was there on a Sunday, there was a Mexican food truck, and a Sushi food truck. The Mexican truck was solid with really good tortilla chips, guac, salsa, quesadillas, and shrimp dishes. Pro-tip: Cabana Club is on InKind and they offer a bunch of bonuses and deals so you can stretch your money a lot further by paying through it.

Yelp
Great friendly service. Nice full bar, good food options, patio area and swimming pool for shade or fun in the sun.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails at a great price! It was so hard to decide what to get because there were so many great options in the $11-$14 range. The bartenders were so kind, offered recommendations, and answered all of our questions. There were many different seating options, shaded or in the sun with umbrellas that open up to offer more shade. The outdoor bathrooms were clean but dark. We went Tuesday at 3ish which was the perfect time to avoid crowds and soak up the sun. Three food trucks available on site. Only Society was open when we went but the chicken tenders and fries were crunchy and fresh!

Yelp
Trying to ditch work and start your weekend early? This is just the place! Went during the day on a Friday and it was nothing short of a good time. This fun new pool spot has a cool concept with a mix of a nice relaxed coffee shop/working space on the inside and a fun, high energy vibe outside! Lots of good-tasting cocktails and food trucks. Service was great. They do a lot of different weekly events like trivia, yoga, live music, etc which is awesome. They truly have something to interest everyone, and I can't wait to come back! Definitely a cool spot to check out

Chris L.

Yelp
Great spot. Will be my new go to for work for a coffee in the morning, or an espresso martini at night. Our waitress Saylor was great.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Cabana Club what are you waiting for! The vibes are off the charts. Great, drinks, food trucks and a nice pool to cool off in the food trucks are great and they deliver the food to your table which is so sweet. I had the Lychee Martini and my friend ordered the Aperol spritz. Prices are fair and service is kind and welcoming to all!!! I started my day with a nice matcha latte and knitting inside which gives a coffee who vibe and ended the day with tacos by the pool and a nice dip in the water while the DJ played his tunes. Perfect spot for morning/noon/night adventures

Yelp
Cute place, shady business practices. My boyfriend, a friend and I went for our first visit to Cabana Club. Called ahead and asked about how the reservations work. We were not informed that you do not need a reservation actually. Made a reservation for a daybed with Matty and he said he would comp it as long as we had a bar tab. When we arrived, Matty was not there and the hostess took us outside to the pool and sat us in a cabana. We sat down and ordered an iced tea and three cocktails off their menu. After 45 minutes, we decided that we weren't going to stay so we asked for our check. That's when the server said "you were told how this works right?" I said I'm not sure what you're referring to. She said it's $100 for a cabana plus your tab. I informed her that was not disclosed up front and also let her know what Matty told us when we initially called. No manager came out and she said the best they could do was comp half of the rental. They also conveniently added 20% gratuity as well as charged $13 for a carafe of iced tea when we only ordered one serving. All in, we were charged $112 for ice tea and three small drinks (yes their prices are lower, but that's because each cocktail is about 4 ounces total liquid). Sadly will not be going back here as this place just isn't upfront with their pricing. It shouldn't be hard to put clear pricing on your website and your menus for your guest to understand what you're offering.

Yelp
Cute new coffee shop / pool bar in East Austin that I'm looking forward to seeing grow. Parking - huge parking lot out front and back. Food/Drink - they have an inside kitchen & menu as well as an outside bar and some food trucks. Variety of options but do wish ordering was a bit more streamlined, as the QR codes on the table are only for the inside kitchen, but then the menu on their website is different than that menu as well. Service - everyone was friendly but seemed a bit confused on some processes (ex price to purchase a daybed etc) but were overall nice. We got a table to eat near the pool and loved hanging out in the pool, the temperature was perfect. Some initial kinks, but I'm excited to see the spot grow!

Yelp
Cabana Club issa vibe. The space has been built to be quite versatile, whether you want to WFP and grab a coffee, have an affordable boozy frozen, dip your toes or bottom half in the pool, grab lunch, or party to the beats of a DJ, it's all under one roof. There is a mix of free tables and loungers, or you can pay for a cabana or circular lounger. The prices and minimums depend on day and time (the other day it was $50 no min on a Friday early afternoon, versus $500 for table with $500 min on 4th of July). The coffee is from Progress and served in the main inside area. The cocktail menu is available inside and at the pool bar. There are servers at the pool walking around as well. The space has three food trucks currently: Mexican, Japanese, & something called Society Mobile Kitchen (maybe American fusion?). The venue seems to be continuing to work on the space post opening, as they were adding fans a few days ago. Excited this exists!

Yelp
I came on new years eve and was having a great night with my friends. The employees were really nice and ended up giving us a deal on drinks. However, little did i know that the deal was actually a ripoff. I got charged 300$ for TWO DRINKS. Needless to say i wont be coming back.

Matthew N.

Yelp
Love this spot. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into this concept, The cocktail program is top notch.

Sabine G.

Yelp
Love this place! They have food trucks out back but not too late. The pool is an actual third place where everyone is welcome! No membership required! I came here for chess night and was pleased with the tasty cocktails and the warm vibe in the bar. The drinks are pretty expensive though so I only get one when I go. The bartender was very good to me and customized my drink which was to die for!! They have events regularly like open mics and such. Cool place to post up and spend time with friends! You can bring a towel or borrow a fresh one from them. They have cabanas which are first come first serve. The pool is not deep but has floats and colorful lights and there's projectors throughout the patio so you can watch the game. I highly recommend. Or and the guys at the taco truck were soooo sweet! And the tacos were tasty and tender.

Javier H.

Yelp
Drinks great service great and the prices are competitive.... I love the ambiance the outside pool is a vibe the music when they have it is also a plus ....

Yelp
Super fun adulting! Drinks were great. DJ was on point. Boyfriend loved watching the game on the big screen! Lounge chairs are limited but they do have day beds for a fee. Ample parking. Clean restrooms! And a lovely indoor area to get out of the sun if needed. I will definitely be back! I also loved the mature crowd & no kids.

Yelp
Maybe 2-3 times in here a week - no kidding! During the day the coffee is great, wifi is strong, and the vibe makes it a great co-working space - lunch options are great, literally the club sandwich is delicious!! Great service, drinks - overall one of my favorite spots in Austin!

Yelp
Love this place, it is pure new regular hangout. It has everything you could ever want, and awesome people are running it. Fun vibe, delicious drinks/food, beautiful venue and great service. The very best.

Yelp
Checked this place out today (Tuesday around 230-330 and was super impressed! It has outdoor area with cool bar and a pool to get sun and cool down and an indoor area and bar for relaxing in shade and AC or getting work done. The two food trucks looked amazing and service was top notch . Internet was super fast too with lots of big tables (I don't like tiny circle tables when working). I recommend going there to crush work the relax at pool or just go relax! Prob super crowded on weekends and pool might be too crowded but who knows.

Yelp
Such a vibe. I loved the drinks, especially the frozen ones. They were delicious. It's the perfect spot to work and hang out all day or for some evening fun. The cabanas/lounge areas are covered nicely, so it never felt too hot. It's easy to take a dip in the pool and cool off. I can't wait to go back!

Michael P.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and staff, the drinks are awesome and they have different events that are held. The food truck options are ideal as they have a variety of options to choose from.

Yelp
Love that they open early, good indoor work lounge vibe. Everyone is super nice and friendly. Dog friendly is a huge plus. Drinks are also good, love the matcha.
