"No one is more delighted by a new, aesthetically pleasing coffee shop than Nashville’s social media population, and Cafe Babu is decidedly bringing all the LA feels to Wedgewood-Houston. A sleek concrete interior is the basis for the neutrals-only color palette, a chill backdrop for Babu’s menu of Indian-influenced teas and coffees: The signature Babu Latte is spiked with earthy cardamom syrup, and the chai is strong and spicy. A handful of pastries, sandwiches, and wine are available during the day, while evening brings cocktails with small bites and even more vibes." - Ellen Fort

“Tatooine vibes” -my mom The pastries are really good, I enjoyed my green tea and look forward to trying the coffee. The atmosphere is very unique, it does feel like you’re in Dune or Star Wars! Lots of outdoor seating as well.

Try this place out, especially if you love lattes: Love at first sight and taste for me! The almond latte iced and hot babu latte, are the best lattes I’ve had in Nashville, and I’ve been to majority of the Nashville coffee shops. I especially will be back for the almond latte, it’s unique, the syrup is house made and delicious. I also had the turkey sandwich and really enjoyed it. The place is really nicely decorated and intimate, I can’t wait to come back for a drink one night. It is in a more industrial/residential area which is great because there is lots of free street parking, so I easily found a spot at 9:30a on a Tuesday. Not sure I would come here to work inside because it is small so could be tricky to get a table and then you’ll be taking up that table. However they have a big patio with lots of tables so when it is warm I would definitely come hangout and work from here for a few hours. It’s a great spot for a date/meet-up.

I really love the aesthetic of this place, it’s cozy, stylish, and inviting. The baristas are so kind and always willing to share helpful tips about their coffee and matcha, which adds to the experience. However, I was a bit let down by the matcha quality, as I was expecting a smoother, more vibrant flavor. Here’s how I’d rate the drinks I’ve tried: Iced Latte with Lavender Syrup: 9/10 Iced Matcha Latte with Lavender and Vanilla Syrup: 6/10 Hot Latte: 10/10 Overall, it’s a great spot, and I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I enjoyed the vanilla almond latte. The almond syrup is house made and delicious. The outdoor patio was very nice to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.

Came to grab some coffee and had such a great experience. It was a busy Saturday morning. Nonetheless the owner was super nice. We ordered the babu latte and the chai. Super authentic and tasty.. they also provided small treats to accompany our drinks. Stop by when you have the chance

Google
Very welcoming staff member took our order. I got an oat milk latte which was very good. I also ordered a chocolate croissant which they warmed to serve and it may just have been the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had. Both latte and croissant were served in cool wooden dishes. My only small complaint was that it was quite loud inside.

Google
I love this spot. I've been searching for the perfect cup of Masala Chai in Nash and this spot has it. The interior design reflects the culture of the owners and the menu is crafted with intentionality. Plus, the staff as a whole was wonderful! I had so many positive interactions with them even in the midst of a busy day. We will be coming back and telling all our friends to go visit them.

Extraordinary. Must visit. Super atmosphere, great food and good service. 10/10. Few places are touching my heart and this place is one of them. I impressed with the interior of the cafe and to be honest real test in food.

Yelp
An excellent cafe with impressive design!!! I ordered the signature Babu Latte this morning wi the oat milk. It was really nice and "appropriately" sweetened with their homemade syrup. The inside was very cozy and designed with unique style. The baristas were so friendly. When I was sitting there reading my book, one of them came up to give me a cup of bakery sample. It tasted so good! Crispy outside while juicy inside (I forget the name of the dessert). If you wanna go to a cafe with perfect coffee taste, vibe, designs, and people - here is the place for you!

Yelp
I was happy to finally try the most talked about new cafe in Nashville. I loved the ambience of Cafe Babu! The staff were very nice and moved quickly through a busy line. We got the prosciutto & fig sandwich along with the Hotty Toddy iced latte. We were able to snag a table inside and the food came out quicker than I anticipated on a busy Sunday morning. The sandwich was delicious. Our iced lattes came out shortly after. The latte was good, but I would love to try more as this wasn't my favorite latte I've ever had. I would recommend this lovely cafe to anyone. There is plenty of free street parking and seating located inside / outside of the cafe. I enjoyed my time at Cafe Babu and can't wait to try more!

Irene L.

Yelp
My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here this past Sunday! Collectively we agreed 4.5/5 stars! Of course weekends are busy anywhere in Nashville, while it was packed we were able to find a spot inside! (Outdoor seating has blankets/throws to use to cover up and stay warm which we thought was pretty cool! Not many places offer that!) We ordered the House Special: Babu Latte, Chai Latte (no milk modifications on this beverage and is more on the spiced side), Baklava (from Sweet Armenian Bakery) and a Fig + Prosciutto flatbread (comes with arugula and diced cucumber) We loved the plates and mugs these all came in! It didn't take too long to come out We have wanted to come try this place out for a long time! I'm very glad we did and I'd love to come back on a weekday. Parking might be harder to find on a weekend but we were able to pack across the street (regular street parking) for free!

Yelp
I popped into cafe babu with a friend on a cold Thursday morning and this little shop brought all the cozy vibes we needed. This space is so cute, my coffee was delicious, service was quick and friendly, and my friend had a very tasty fig sandwich. I think when it gets warm out and the patio can be open, this place will be a huge hit!!!

Yelp
If you're searching for the most beautiful coffee shop in Nashville, look no further than Café Babu! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance wraps you in a cozy, artistic vibe, with perfectly curated music that enhances the experience. After trying several menu items, my top picks are: Almond Croissant - Skip the chocolate one; the almond croissant is perfection. Flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweetness. Fig Prosciutto Flatbread - A perfect balance of savory and sweet, with fresh ingredients that make each bite feel like a treat. Baklava - perfect balance between sweetness and nutty notes. And let's not forget the coffee--absolutely top-tier! From the rich espresso to the smooth lattes, you can taste the quality in every sip. Definitely give the Babu latte a try- it has a subtle sweetness with the Housemade cardamom syrup and has a bite of baklava on the side! Service is friendly and efficient. Only downside is there will be waves of business where it can get really packed and cozy inside. It's just the kind of spot where its possible to be here for 20 min or 2 hours. Whether you're here to work, relax, or catch up with friends, Café Babu delivers an incredible experience.

Erin J.

Yelp
The inviting space at Cafe Babu is delightful! It's an Indian-Mediterranean shop with coffee in the morning and cocktails and wine in the afternoon/evening. I stopped in the morning and had a hot chocolate (not a coffee drinker) and a plain croissant. I was tempted by the rose pistachio cake though, which was beautiful. The outdoor space is lovely, and I wished it hadn't been so cold so I could have taken advantage. The indoor is inviting and after ordering at the counter, I found a seat. The staff was kind enough to bring my items to me. The croissant was very buttery and flaky. It was nice. I arrived shortly after opening (on a Saturday) and found a seat without issue. By the time I left around 9:20, it was filling up and people were waiting for a seat. So arrive early!

Parker S.

Yelp
Great coffee shop addition to the area! The atmosphere is very unique and they have plenty of outdoor seating which will be nice in the warmer months. Both times we have come the service/employees have been exceptional. We tried a few different items (latte, cappuccino, baklava, spiced chocolate cookie). I really enjoyed the cappuccino, and both the cookie + baklava were top notch. I do hope they bring out some more options for food like breakfast sandwiches with eggs, but they aren't really a traditional American spot so that might be asking for too much! We will be back to hangout with friends and enjoy more coffee & pastries soon.

Yelp
This place has a really cool vibe, perfect for sipping a drink by the fire when it's a little chilly -- they even give you blankets, which is awesome! My drink came out super fast and was pretty good, but nothing too crazy. It was like their version of an espresso martini. The staff was nice, and the happy hour prices were solid. The inside is super tiny, though, so not much room if it's packed. But overall, it's a fun spot to hang out and enjoy some drinks!

Reeta B.

Yelp
Cafe Babu is a wonderful place for a little after work hang out. They have cocktails and little snacks on the menu like the Honey Whipped Feta. I also got some matcha which was yummy and refreshing. The service is always so nice and helpful. I wish the parking was a little easier, but I've now gone twice and didn't have a problem with street parking either day

Sophia J.

Yelp
Very aesthetic cafe, but it took forever to get our food and drinks. We were lucky enough to grab seating, but sat there for about an hour without food/drinks. The Babu latte was definitely unique and the baklava sample was tasty, but too sweet. Go for the vibes and the photos, but otherwise it's nothing special.

Val P.

Yelp
Love this place and prob the most beautiful coffeeshops I've been to. The vibe and ambiance is so cool and definitely looks like something that belongs in Greece or the Mediterranean. The owner is very nice and kind. The food is fantastic and my latte was so good! I'll be back!

Mike H.

Yelp
Amazing coffee from a small local shop! There is a decent amount of street parking with a small lot in back. The service was amazing and the coffee came out quick. There was a little line, but it moved fast! We didn't try any of the food outside the free sample of baklava which was amazing. Definitely going back for the coffee, but also going to grab a snack next time!

Jacobia D.

Yelp
If you can't travel to Istanbul to enjoy coffee or a cocktail in one of its many beautiful cave settings coffeehouses, Cafe Babu is the closest alternative in Nashville. The locally owned space definitely captured the essence of the traditional Turkish coffeehouses that is both warm, peaceful and welcoming. It's a neighborhood coffeehouse during the day but changes to a cozy and romantic cocktail bar. While the inside is quaint yet roomy, they have an amazing patio outside to accommodate groups. Service is amazing. They offer a light bites menu along with a nice selection of wines and uniquely named hand crafted cocktails. We enjoyed the honey whipped feta with pita chips and the olives and figs. Both options were very tasty and paired well with our beverage choices. They offer happy hours specials. Mostly on-street parking but a few places in the back.

Cherelle J.

Yelp
Super cute place looks like a cave inside. Reminds you of a place you'd find in California or something. Very different for Nashville, I love it. We ordered the babu latte, cold brew, cinnamon almond pastry and a spiced chocolate cookie. The pastry was good had good flavor a little dry though, the cookie was good they used good chocolate , but not sure if I'd get it again. Overall everything was good, very cute place wish it was a little bigger inside. They had real cute outside seating too can't wait till it gets warm outside. Definitely going back to try other items.

Monica J.

Yelp
Staff + owner are very friendly! Even though they were busy with a line wrapped around the store, they greeted everyone kindly and with great energy. Cafe is such a unique, earthy style! Very aesthetically pleasing. Heads up: - Be sure to get here earlier than later since there is quite limited seating inside (and some outside). - were limited/no outlets (to my knowledge), so maybe not the best place to study/work. Great vibes overall tho!! Coffee had good base notes (but the syrup isn't as flavorful as hoped) BUT I got a complimentary baklava with my drink which was great! I love to see culturally unique places in town such as this, and I can't wait to see this place grow!

Taylor R.

Yelp
This new coffeeshop has such a cool vibe inside and out. They definitely stand out but fit into the area of town they are located in. Their chai is made onsite by the team and is so delicious. Their lattes are great and when I went on opening day the team was so friendly despite how crazy busy they were. Definitely recommend checking them out and hanging out in their cool stone patio.

Isabel H.

Yelp
Gorgeous interior that feels like you were transported somewhere relaxing and cozy. Delicious flavors offered on their coffee and cocktail menu, I tried the house latte with almond milk and the quality was out of this world. I could drink a million more! They offer many pastries including a baklava and gluten free options. While it can get busy for sure, it feels like a place to make friends and spend time together over good drinks. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu!

Sam M.

Yelp
Café Babu is a hidden gem in the trendy area just outside downtown Nashville. The coffee and pastries were absolutely delicious, and while indoor seating is limited--leading to long lines--it's well worth the wait. We tried the Babu Latte Special, which was rich and super strong, along with a Matcha Latte, an almond cinnamon roll, and a turkey and brie sandwich--all fantastic. The outdoor seating was a nice option, though they could use umbrellas for the summer months. If you're looking for a unique café experience beyond the typical commercial coffee shops, this spot's Moroccan-Indian-inspired decor creates the perfect escape. Highly recommend!

Alissa L.

Yelp
Great ambiance! Turkey and brie sandwich was delicious. Lots of pastries that looked incredible. Masala Chai was best I've ever had. Definitely want to come back for wine and sitting by the fire pits.

Bethany W.

Yelp
I'm 50/50 on this spot, on one hand, I really love the vibe and ambiance, the people and the owners, are super nice. The baklava was tasty and pricing was standard. But... I had such high hopes for the coffee. It was pretty flat, not a lot of depth. I'll have to stop by one more time to see if perhaps the coffee is better at other times, I know some days coffee can be better dialed in than others. It was good, definitely not bad, just not the best I've had, so I can't rank it at the top of my list with 4/5 stars. I'll be back to give it another shot though! Some places I can't bring my self to do that, but this was right on the edge of greatness, so I will try again.

Tina C.

Yelp
What a lovely new cafe! Super beautiful and modern clay design that makes for great ambiance when working or grabbing coffee with a friend. Went on a Sunday around noon and the place was very busy with a long line that wrapped around the cafe. Despite the busyness, the line moved pretty quickly and the staff/baristas were super friendly and patient. Ordered a chai and prosciutto/fig sandwich, both of which were great. We were also gifted a complementary latte and baked item. Plenty of street parking nearby!

Mandy H.

Yelp
- Ambiance is very cozy and feels like a cafe for the flintstones - The pastries are fresh and taste very flavorful and light. Compliments the drinks very nicely - Service was great despite being super busy Overall, would recommend going back

Priscilla L.

Yelp
Friendly owner! Excellent coffee and ambience! Restrooms available. Indoor and outdoor seating as well! It can get busy but it's worth the wait for real coffee with real ingredients.

Mike Z.

Yelp
Love the aesthetic, love the coffee, love the pastries from Village but it will take an adjustment period until the hype dies down a little bit to enjoy the coffee shop as it was intended but this is great to cover being in a spot that I think will thrive when all the developments around it get finished. What works for this place is the quality of the coffee and that's where you build your foundation. Their service was great considering how many people they have in the queue, they have enough staff walking around delivering drinks and food if you're not inside of the cafe. They were looking to see if people were waiting for orders so they're very attentive. Keep thriving and hopefully will get to come visit when it calms down.

Betsy C.

Yelp
This place had popped up all up on Instagram and so I had to give it a try! It was the perfect location for a coffee and light lunch before taking a friend to the airport. The place was packed, but they cranked out coffees, pastries and delicious sandwiches with a smile and good cheer! I will be back for the Mumbai veggie sandwich. The people watching was really spectacular as well! I highly recommend!

Jorge R.

Yelp
I ordered the Babu latte and made the righr choice! The coffee was not burnt or bitter and the brew was not weak, things I usually encounter in other coffee shops. The Babu latte came with a sample of baklava, perfect compliment to elevate the cardamom syrup in the coffee. Staff is approachable and service is prompt. The aesthetic is rustic yet modern, with the cement wall outside contrasting with the clay/adobe inside. The music was great, playing some of the current trending reggaeton.

Kendall R.

Yelp
First, the staff here was incredibly kind and working very hard to get through the line! This coffee shop is very small inside with very few tables, so we had to sit outside. It felt like there was nowhere to wait for our order without being in the way. I seem to be in the minority thinking this, but I felt like the inside looked cheap and it reminded me of being in a museum exhibit. It didn't live up to the pictures I've seen in my opinion. My friend and I both got croissants and she got a coffee. Her coffee was $8 and she said it was good but not great and not worth $8. The croissants were good, but I wouldn't come back for them. The outside area looks like a construction zone and your only options for tables are slabs of concrete. There are a few normal chairs as opposed to the concrete stools and giant rocks, so we opted for chairs at a concrete jenga table. This coffee shop has decent coffee and food, but at the end of the day their sell is the aesthetic and I just think the execution fell short. Even with their aesthetic, I think it could cozier with a few basic additions (cushions for one). This shop is marketed as a place to work from home at, and I really don't see how you could. It's packed all the time thanks to social media PR and incredibly uncomfortable. This was a real instagram vs reality moment for me.

Tatum B.

Yelp
the outside and inside were so asthetic, I couldn't stop taking pictures of it. It had such a comfy vibe to it. the food was SO good. I got the parfait and a chocolate croissant. the parfait had a rich yogurt and super good toppings like raspberries and almonds. the almonds added a very nice crunch. the chocolate croissant was perfectly moist. For a drink i got an iced matcha and it was so yummy. definitely added a cute pop of color to my pictures. the service was PERFECT. everyone was super sweet, smiles on everyone's faces. 10/10 and i will definitely be going again soon.

charlize w.

Yelp
This place is the cutest ever!!!! If you find yourself in Nashville it is a must. The owner is the sweetest lady ever and made us feel so welcome! 15/10 experience will definitely be coming back:)

Anna M.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance . Interior & exterior of the shop are beautifully done . Even though they had issues today , they accommodated people and were serving great coffee . I admire the true passion and great hospitality by the owners :)

Katrina L.

Yelp
I am in town for several weeks while my Dad is undergoing cancer treatment at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center here in Nashville. I am in a rental home just a block away from Cafe Babu. I decided to explore the neighborhood this morning and stopped by. I was there about 10 minutes before opening so took a seat outside. They have a very nice outdoor seating area. In nice weather I imagine it would be an ideal spot to spend some time chatting with friends morning or evening. An employee noticed me sitting and waiting and invited me in to wait until they were officially open. Although it wasn't very cold and the weather was temperate, it was a very nice gesture. I ordered a chai latte, not realizing that the chai here is very traditional Indian chai and is made in house with time and care and should be had "as is." The woman taking my order explained this to me kindly, and not with judgement. I appreciate this because I travel a lot and have been made to feel "not in the know" as an outsider in other establishments if I blunder when making an order that may not be typical for an establishment. The very kind woman who crafts the chai here came from the back to personally deliver my chai and also kindly asked if the traditional chai had been explained to me. I said "yes" and thanked her and was genuinely excited to try. It was piping hot so I couldn't sip it there, so I walked home and had it there. HEAVEN in a cup. So delicious and spicy and creamy. Can't wait to visit again! Very nice people and a warm atmosphere. I'll have mine in the cafe next time and stay a while.

Madison T.

Yelp
The food and coffee were good for the most part. The only issue is the layout itself. With many people coming to the cafe for the "vibes" and feel of the place, the building gets easily congested. Sure there's seating outside if the inside is too busy, but guess what? You now have to sit on a rock! The post-apocalyptic atmosphere of the cafe is nice and artsy in theory, but if you decide to "dine in" you will most likely have to take your fancy mug and plate outside to your rigid rock table while everyone with a to-go cup is taking up the interior seating. Wish they had a rule that if you order to-go, then get out of the building as soon as you get your order! It's detrimental for those who choose to get the full dining experience.

Palak K.

Yelp
My friends recently hosted my birthday here and it was lovely! The minimalistic interior design gives such a beautiful welcome to Greece meets India vibe and the staff is always smiling and welcoming! The whipped honey and feta, fig Brie flat bread, Mumbai veggie sandwich are all phenomenal! The rose latte, the babu latte are definitely a personal favorite! Roses are red is probably my favorite drink in the evening! Owner is super sweet as well!

Ricky S.

Yelp
Just a cool af vibe. Busy. Amazing coffee amazing pastries. Nice people. Cool bathrooms.

Jade C.

Yelp
Great service from the owner, cutest decor and great vibes. The coffee is DELICIOUS. I got an Almond flavored oat milk latte and it was too die for!! Already looking forward to our next visit

George B.

Yelp
Cool, Trendy cafe. It has a desert vibe with Adobe looking walls and stone tables. Good coffee, good sandwiches, friendly staff. A refreshing change from the chain coffee shops.

allison v.

Yelp
great baristas-- my cappuccino was perfectly pulled and steamed The owner took my order, gave out a compliment and generally had an amazing aura (and during a very busy crowded hour in that small space!) The only thing they're lacking is seating but I know come spring that won't be an issue, it's just too cold to chill outside right now. try the rose syrup and the sandwich with fig jam!

Lyn H.

Yelp
Tried to go here 3 times to try their coffee. This place is always closed for random reasons. Never coming here for coffee cause they are never open normal hours.

Alexandria E.

Yelp
I went here with high expectations seeing it all over my feed on instagram I was excited to see a more ethnic coffee shop closer to me, but boy was I sure disappointed. The price is not reflective of the quality of their coffee and teas. My friend had the latte and it was extremely bitter and watered down. I had the chai and by far the worst chai I have ever had, I've even had a better chai from Starbucks and they don't even make real chai!! The chai basically tasted like clove milk. I would save your money and go to any of the other ethnic spots that serve chai like the horn, Deir cafe or even frothy monkey had a better one

Nic F.

Yelp
Café Babu was way too packed when I visited--there was a line nearly 30 people deep at 9am, and every seat was taken. It felt crowded and overwhelming, with people packed in everywhere. If you're hoping for a relaxed coffee spot, you might want to wait until it's less busy. Definitely not the best experience for enjoying your drink or getting any work done

George M.

Yelp
Any good place will have traffic and Babu has traffic in the peak hours. The coffee is first rate and I was surprised at the flavor of the sandwich fare offered. (plan on eating one!) This place is different and one not to be missed in Nashville. You will be pleased!
