"The Agoura Hills location, which opened in 2017, will remain open. It continues to offer traditional dishes like sweetbreads, lobster bisque, steak au poivre, and coq au vin on Thursdays, along with an incredible $2 corkage fee." - Mona Holmes

"Café Bizou suits my needs perfectly: the white tablecloths, the fact that I’m the youngest person in the room who isn’t a petulant grandchild dragged along for a birthday or christening, the always available reservation. All of these things make up what can sometimes be the perfect meal." - ByJenni Konner

This was my first time eating at Cafe Bizou after it being highly recommended. We had a reservation for 8pm and didn’t get sat until 8:45. There were a ton of people waiting and it was hard to even get to the front hostess stand. While that is a testament to how good it is, I don’t really enjoy having to wait that long when we had reservations…. What’s the point of a reservation then? Aside from that, everything else was really good. Everything we ate was fantastic and was a fairly reasonable price. They serve bread and butter which was fresh and warm. I did the 3 course deal for $35. I started with the French onion soup which was very flavorful but not too salty. Then I enjoyed the penne pasta with a lemon sauce tossed with chicken, sun dried tomatoes and asparagus. Very delicious!! My fiance got the featured meal which was skirt steak and potatoes. He ate the whole thing so that tells me he thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the bread pudding to and the night and it came in a light caramel sauce that was to die for. My fiance even ate some and he’s not a huge dessert guy. Overall this place was really good and had we not had to wait 45 min I would have given them 5 starts. We will definitely be back ! . . . Update: ate here a second time and came a little earlier so we were seated quicker. We got the beef beef bourgenon and the steak and it was delicious.

4th and last DineLA spring excursion Drove up to my home turf to visit friends for the weekend. My friend has been raving about this place and this whole time I had no clue about it. Our party of 5 did the DineLA dinner. This time around it was every man for himself so we all got what we wanted and didn't share. We started off with an order of the escargot because as it turns out 2/5 of the people in our party had never tried it before. It was perfectly seasoned. I kicked off with the lobster and salmon ravioli then followed that up with the meat trio which came with lamb chop, filet mignon and braised short ribs and ended with the bread pudding. When I tell you - I ate everything. The ravioli was so tasty. The lamb chop was perfectly cooked and the bread pudding was so sumptuous. The portions were nice considering the price. The vibe was super nice. It was a packed Friday night. So glad we had a reservation. I didn't catch the name of our server, but he was awesome. My starter was the

I've been to a lot of great French restaurants in France, throughout the US, and Canada. I had there course meal. The French onion soup was mediocre at best and the artichoke appetizer was average. The beef dish was great. So was the dessert. Overall I think this is a great French restaurant for the value. $45 for a 3 course meal is a great deal. I spent about $150 for three people. But if you want the best French food go to SF, Quebec, or France. This restaurant doesn't measure up to other restaurants I went to in those areas.

Amazing! First time here! Celebrated our anniversary! As busy as it was, we were seated timely. The host ensured he was aware by communicating w us regularly! All service was on point. Escargot, sweetbread, beef bourginon and sand dabs excellent! Prices so reasonable. Bread pudding and lobster bisque, wow! Even my house salad was crisp, fresh, and excellent. I highly recommmend! My new favorite place!

If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Pasadena, Cafe Bizou is a great option. It’s a quaint French bistro with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. I tried their filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy and flavorful. The wine list is also great, and the portions are generous. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth the splurge

From the moment we stepped into Cafe Bizou, we were transported to a charming Parisian bistro. The warm ambiance, elegant décor, and soft background music set the perfect mood for an exquisite evening. The service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Now, the food—absolutely divine! We started with a classic French onion soup, rich and deeply flavorful, followed by a perfectly executed duck confit that melted in our mouths. The wine pairing was spot on, elevating each dish beautifully. And for dessert, the crème brûlée was sheer perfection, with a crisp caramelized top and a luxuriously smooth custard beneath. Every bite was a celebration of authentic French cuisine, prepared with care and precision. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening out or simply a taste of France, Cafe Bizou is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return! Bon appétit! 🍷

As a long time customer of Cafe Bijou, my last visit there was not good. We had a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Sunday, however, we did not get seated until 25 minutes later. And we were seated in the middle of an aisle, in between what was their patio (which was sealed with a cloth tarp), and it was a terrible table as we were in the middle of the area servers, busboys and other customers, who continued to walk by us and this was bad, as there were other tables open in better areas, but they treated us like we were not returning customers. As to the food, they could have told me I ordered fried fish, cause if they did, I would not have ordered it. I chose not to make a scene as my wife and I were out celebrating a birthday. Then, through no fault of the restaurant, someone got sick and paramedics came....10 of them....and there was no way to enjoy our meal as for 10 minutes the fire department personnel kept coming in with equipment--not a word from the restaurant saying sorry for the inconvenience. After the fire department left, carrying the elderly gentlemen just past our table, my wife asked the waiter to turn on the portable heater....our waited told me that the other people--seating a much better table than ours, told the waiter that they do not want the heat, so we had to suffer....this indifference to us in a place that is known for service, was a disgrace. At no time did anyone apologize to us over what was taking place. This used to be a great place for food and value but their service and indifference to us, made me understand that cause they provide a value price platform, that somehow, service could suffer. I disagree, even if the food is good, how is one to enjoy such an experience if the management does not give a damn about each and every customer enjoying their time out. Again I reiterate that most people at the restaurant seemed to enjoy their meals, but for me, how can I enjoy my time when we were mistreated--their were other tables where I would not be interrupted by passers by cause they were other open tables. I guess the message is that unless you are favored by the disgruntled host, the low cost of the "gourmet food" was not worth the trade of being under appreciated as a customer. Mark Frydman

Had a wonderful dinner here with my brother in law on a Wednesday’s night and the $35 menu was a great value. I upgraded my entree $10 and very worth it. My brother in law upgraded his appetizer to lobster bisque for $5 and really enjoy it. Very affordable BYOB charge and we enjoyed a bottle of Moet Champagne. Our waiter was excellent and while it had been a long time since I visited this older gem we really enjoyed it. I’d come back

Yelp
We were celebrating an early Xmas on a very busy night. We had reservations, but still had to wait outside in the cold 25 minutes. We were seated at a round table, which love, when there are more than 4 people (we were 5). Everyone loved their food and the service was great. We used to eat at the original Cafe Bizou, on Ventura Blvd and the Very short lived one in Santa Monica and our favorite location, in Pasadena. Agoura is a long drive so we don't eat there as often, but it doesn't appear to have impacted their business. Sorry, I forgot what we ate and forgot to take photos. ‍

Yelp
I've been going to Cafe Bizou since 1998. Excellent food, excellent service and reasonable prices. It's one of a few places where quality has not dwindled over the years. Still run on a daily basis by the original owners and it shows. You can't go wrong with their lobster bisque, and pretty much all of their entrees. I used to frequent their Sherman Oaks location on a monthly basis for years. Unfortunately since covid they only have the one location. But I gladly make the trek over there for the food, ambiance, and that lobster bisque! And another great feature is the $2 corkage fee which hasn't changed since they opened. Pro tip: they are very busy between 7p-8p Friday to Sunday. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes even if you have a reservation. We usually get a drink at the bar during this time and they move the drinks once the table is ready.

Yelp
Super hard review to make, because we ate here before and had an nice 4.5 star experience and last night, we had a meh experience-which I would probably give a two star review for, but I'm going to upgrade it to three because our last time here was much better. We had 7 PM reservations, arrived at 6:55 and we had to wait until 7:35 to be seated. My husband ordered the strawberry margarita and he thought it was delicious. When we sat down, the table was not ready/set up for us yet. No napkins or utensils, just the menus (which look like they had not been cleaned). Bread and butter were brought to our table, but the waiter was too busy to take our order. The bread was delicious and we were so hungry we both had two pieces before he got back to finally take our order. We were going to order off of the Set dinner menu that included soups/salad and a dessert for $40 however, after eating the bread and it being so late, we opted to just order the entrée. It was not a great sign when less than five minutes after we placed our order, our meal was served to us, we knew that it was all premade, and likely under lights to keep warm until ordered. Jumbo shrimp and scallops over angel hair. $29 -This was actually super disappointing. Very little flavor as well as the shrimp were rubbery and the scallops were chewy. The pasta was drenched in olive oil. Beef Bourguignon $26 My husband said it was OK- not great, but not bad. Prices are reasonable, parking was easy but bottom line very disappointing evening. Reading through the reviews, it looks like this is the theme for this restaurant, as well as not a single reply from the management or owner of the restaurant to any of the disappointing reviews, so clearly they don't care at all. With so many wonderful restaurants out there, we will probably not come back to this one, and clearly the management won't care. Which is unfortunate because they do have a great menu.

Yelp
It was a super busy Friday night! I made a reservation for 7:45 but didn't get the table until an hour later. We were waiting at the bar and enjoying our delicious cocktails (Pear Martini and gin jalapeño). For the food, we had some steak and halibut. I thought they both were just okay. My favorite was the escargot! Can't beat the $2 corkage fee though!

Saul G.

Yelp
We've been to Cafe Bizou a few times and they don't disappoint. This time we had a few different things and all were exquisite. We tried their Seafood Risotto, Black Tagliolini, Scallops and Steak au Poivre. Everyone enjoyed their meal but the steak could have used a little more flavor. Their berry goat cheese salad was delicious. We brought a few wines and they're always gracious with small corking fees. Topped off with their bread pudding and cappuccinos. Yumm Service and ambiance are always outstanding.

Yelp
The Cafe Bizou location on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks was one of my favorite local French spots in the valley. The food and ambiance absolutely reminded me of the restaurants back home! I had been going there for years until it closed. Therefore I was glad to know of the alternate and less busy location in Agoura Hills which allowed me to continue enjoying the unbeatable, $35-40/person Prix fixed 3-course menu. My favorite first course choice is the Lobster bisque (+$5). They used to have filet mignon at some point as second course, and now many other options including Seafood Risotto and Beef bourguignon (a French classic!). For dessert, you have to make a hard choice between Bread pudding (delicious!), Profiteroles, Tiramisu, and Flourless chocolate cake among other options. Outside of the Prix fixed menu, I have also enjoyed the Steak au poivre, Escargots, and Pear martini. Can't wait to go back!!

Frank S.

Yelp
Came on a Wednesday night and it got crowded real quick. Free plaza parking is always a plus. Immediately seated with reservation. Inside was pretty dark and intimate. Very cute little spot for a date or casual enough for a business dinner. I ordered the 3 course meal, Caesar salad, meat trio, and tiramisu. The salad was good, meat trio was tasty but portions are relatively small, and the tiramisu was moist and creamy. Come give this place a try when you get a chance.

Yelp
I had to leave another review for our last visit to Cafe Bizou. It was so, so busy but we always make reservations to avoid the long wait. It took more time to find parking that it was to get seated. Our experience was no different from our past visits -- always excellent. Service was courteous and paced nicely with drinks refilled and our table cleared as each course was done. Although the Prix Fixed Three Course Menu is always tempting, it doesn't have the Escargots Persillade as an appetizer option. After starting with generous portions of warm bread and butter, we had our delicious escargots. We then chose from the Plats Du Jour -- my husband had the Beef Short Ribs and for me, the Wild Chilean Sea Bass. The short ribs were tender and flavorful. But that sea bass! It was nestled on top of seasoned, lightly sautéed fresh vegetables and perfectly prepared. It was accompanied by a light balsamic sauce that enhanced the overall flavor. This is my new favorite! We had not planned on dessert but asked to see their offerings. We found the Creme Brulee which we didn't see on the main menu and had to try it. That was a lovely end to an already great meal.

Yelp
The location is just off the Reyes Adobe exit off the 101. The strip mall has a parking lot with adequate parking. The restaurant is densely packed and very loud. We sat at a table for 10 . The waiter needs lessons in customer service. We seemed to be taking to much time to order and I doubt he wanted to be there. Perhaps with our size table he knew that a tip would have to be provide due to table size. We order a calamari and some Brussels Sprouts which took a bath in oil. The bread was crisp and good. The menu comes in at about 30 dollars for an entree and a three course price fix dinner at 40 dollars. I had the hanger steak served with fries which were crisp and baked tomato and some green beans. The steak was to be cooked medium rare but came out seared only and mostly raw. I believe this would be call blue. Covered in butter it was difficult to cut and if I were on my own I would have gotten up to find the waiter to send it back. Another person at the table order sea bass which also was under cooked. Desserts were good. We last went to the cafe when it was in Sherman Oaks and would come frequently. I'm not sure between service and food that I would come back.

Brighton B.

Yelp
We went here for dinner on a Saturday night at 5:00pm for a party of 4. We were very fortunate to get reservations at reservations are strongly recommended. My wife and I were also impressed with the $2 corking fee - which is insane! Most places, the corking fee is like minimum $20 at most place - so what a good deal. The food was top notch as we both took advantage of a great three course priced fixed email. My wife had the macadamia nut halibut with the house salad which was very delicious. For dessert, she has the flourless chocolate cake. I had the French onion soup which was pretty good. Being a French place, I thought it would be a bit better, but I tend to like mine a little more salty, but the broth was good and there was lots of bread and cheese, so it was nice. The dinner I had - was the trio of meats - which was really good. It had short ribs, one leg of lamb, and filet mignon. It was the ultimate triple play. My dessert was simple - vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. As it was simple, but had to be the best dessert of the night. We also had a really good waiter named Serge. He said he knows the owner and founder of the place. Serge said that he used to have a French restaurant in the area and now has a catering business. He was very knowledgeable and engaging and funny. We had a great time with our friends and will have to do this place again. It was delicious.

Yelp
We have dined at this Cafe Bizou location since it opened many years ago (my first review was 6 years ago - two years since my last review). The excellence in both food and service has been consistent. The only change on return this time is that the tent that they had in the parking lot is now gone so the seating is back to indoor only. The ambiance is still lovely with tables nicely spaced so your conversations can remain private. French cafe music is played adding to the ambiance. I went with the 3 course dinner with baked mushrooms for the first course, shrimp and lobster risotto for my entree, and two scoops of dessert ($45). The baked mushrooms were a bit of a disappointment (my wife loved them, me not so much). The shrimp and lobster risotto was off the scale fabulous. And the ice cream came with sides of Carmel and chocolate syrup. They still have $2 corkage when you bring your own wine. And they still have $2 salad add on to any entree. Excellent service, lovely ambiance, great food, all at very reasonable prices. What a value!!!

Amelia S.

Yelp
We've always liked Cafe Bizou. It's reminiscent of a neighborhood French bistro. It's cozy inside, dimly lit, romantic. Service is friendly, prompt, and welcoming. The food is solid for the most part. In general, it's a good value. They offer a 3-course prix fixe every day for $35. You can add a salad or soup to an entree for $2 or $3. They have a large outdoor patio. Reservations are recommended as they are quite busy, even midweek.

Ira W.

Yelp
Great experience from the greeting to the service to the food Amazing This is must Restaurant the Ambiance is warm and friendly Ira Wolowitz

Bob S.

Yelp
During my first visit, which a friend recommended, I drove from Westwood, and it was well worth the trip. I was greeted by a charming French ambiance that felt incredibly inviting. We ordered and savored blackened salmon, a delightful rack of lamb, and pea soup; every bite was enjoyable. The service was also fantastic; the staff constantly walked around to ensure we didn't need anything, and they brought it immediately whenever we requested something.

Suzanne B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Ventura County by far. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is wonderful and so friendly. You can bring your own bottle of wine, but prepare to wait even if you have a reservation because it's a very popular place as it deserves to be. I love the host. He is incredible. It feels like I'm back in France.

Cosmo M.

Yelp
Stopped by for our wedding anniversary. They were busy but the service was good. I had the lobster bisque and my wife had tomato soup. Both were very good. She had a rack of lamb for her entrée and I had the beef Wellington. That was delicious. The twice baked potato was really nice also. We got the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. It's the first time I've ever actually liked that dessert. It was warm and creamy and the raspberry sauce was really good. Highly recommended.

Annalyn E.

Yelp
Really good food for a great price!! We all enjoyed our orders, especially the truffle fries. I'd definitely order those again. The pasta was good, but not as flavorful as I'd hope so I'd try something else next time. I had made a reservation a few weeks prior and when we showed up we still had to wait around 20 minutes, which was a bit frustrating. The ambiance was busy and loud on a Friday night, but during the week it would be a nice spot for dinner or lunch. Overall great options for the 3 courses and reasonably priced!

Sabrina K.

Yelp
We have always had a good experience here. This place does great business. The food is reasonably priced for the portions. During Covid, he offered full meals for two and the line was always around the corner. Don't think he's going anywhere soon - gladly. This is my go to spot when we have friends in from out-of- town. It's always busy.. suggest booking a reservation a week in advance, especially for a Friday or Saturday night.

Henrik E.

Yelp
Welcome inside to a wonderful French restaurant, here everyone is going to be spoiled in ways you can only dream about in actual France. The food is so amazing, truly delicious and a great way to spoil yourself, the drinks are a sure way to get your relaxation going, enjoying your meal, your company, and the atmosphere. If you are looking for a romantic place for the two of you, or a great place for your whole family this Cafe got you covered.

Al T.

Yelp
Great dinner! My reservation was for 7:00 but we had to change it to 7:30 and that was no problem for them. Even after we got there the place was packed and we had to wait another half hour but the food was so good that it was worth the wait!! They were literally so busy tonight that we had to ask for them to bring the utensils and napkins. The wait staff were all extremely kind.

Mark S.

Yelp
Sad to do this because we've really liked bizou in the past. Wait for reservation time wasn't bad Service was not friendly or helpful. Food was rushed out before appetizers or cocktails were finished. Plates were rudely dropped on the table and while we were trying to have a nice conversation, we were hassled about taking or boxing the food. Several times we said we were still working on it. The food was basic. Pasta dish was tasteless and cold and the trio plate was splashed on the plate. Obviously busy so we won't be missed but can't recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out. Smiles and friendliness would go a long way. This team tonight was lacking everything.

Irwin Z.

Yelp
Well Cafe Bizou continues to do what they do best. Great food Great value Great service They do what they do best. The owner Philippe is the consumer professional. We have known him from when he was on Sawtelle then on to all of his other openings. Always doing things right and not compromising. It was a pleasure seeing him this evening making sure his guests were given the best he has to offer. Will always look forward to our next visit. Irwin Z

Yelp
Wow!! Where have I been? This hidden gem has been around since 2017 and tonight was our first night. Guarantee it won't be our last. Simply stunning in Agoura Hills. Service, ambience, and especially the food were way beyond expectations. Cannot say enough good things. Go here. Thank me later!

Carol A.

Yelp
Food is fantastic, service is excellent! Love going at any time, but it's also great for special occasions.

Kiana W.

Yelp
Really nice, classic place with fun vintage posters and a cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the Chilean sea bass special and short rib. They brought us a free dessert for my grandfather's birthday, which was thoughtful! Will be returning.

Mor S.

Yelp
My experience at Cafe Bizou in Agoura Hills was nothing short of delightful. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff immediately set the stage for a wonderful evening. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and I always like getting the short rib and the spicy chicken fettuccine pasta. The pasta is very flavorful and always cooked to perfection. My family ordered the fish and steak and said they were very good. We come here often and the service, ambiance, and food never disappoints! Their dessert is very good as well!!

Ashley B.

Yelp
This has been the go-to celebratory occasion spot for me and my husband for years. We live near their Sherman Oaks location and were heartbroken when it closed, but we still make the trek out to Agoura Hills for special occasions. The food is always great. Fresh, flavorful, and a great value. We usually opt for the 3 course prix fix menu. Last night for Valentine's Day, we both got the French onion soup, duo surf and turf, and flourless chocolate cake. Everything was perfect! The only thing that really missed the mark was the baked mushrooms. I'm pretty sure we have ordered stuffed mushrooms from here in the past and they were normal stuffed mushrooms, but last night, it was basically chicken sausage links (probably four thirds of a typical sausage link) and 2 tiny, unstuffed mushroom caps. Very bizarre and not what we expected, but upon searching yelp, I guess someone else had the same weird experience recently, too. So they should really update that menu description to say it's a chicken sausage dish and not a mushroom dish stuffed with chicken and spinach "mousse". How odd. Anyway, other than that one weird hiccup, Cafe Bizou has always been amazing from the food to the staff. Absolutely worth the drive if you're coming from the valley!

Sal R.

Yelp
I can only describe this place as a hidden jewel in my local neighborhood. The ambiance is great. The service is spot on and the food complements the overall experience!

Alana M.

Yelp
Nice hidden treasure in a shopping center in Agoura. I've been here twice now. The food is great, menu is vast and price is reasonable. Ambience is great for couples, birthdays or small groups. I like the three course menu here because they offer a lot of options. The short ribs were very good. Loved the warm bread pudding too. This place is quite popular so be sure to make a reservation.

Linda S.

Yelp
We went for dinner with friends. Dinner and atmosphere was amazing. I had the steak frites. We've been to some really high end steak restaurants over the holidays and this was the best steak any of us have tasted. Great job

Mark S.

Yelp
Great service; horrible food. I was there, a few months ago. My fish was substantially overcooked. Last night, my beef stroganoff was inedible. The meat was tough and overcooked. Skip this

Kucinero A.

Yelp
Our go to lately. Good food. Good service. Nice ambience. Reasonable prices. $2 cork. What else can you ask for?

Olga A.

Yelp
We have been going to Cafe Bizou for some time now, we use to go to the Sherman Oaks location and their food and service hasn't changed at all! You can't beat their Prix fixed 3 course menu price! I have had lobster bisque in several places and my go to is always from CB, not to mention the Escargot and the Bread Pudding!!! The ambiance is always very chill with a mix crowd but mainly older people. Not that it makes a difference! The corkage fee is $2 - Where else can you dine this good with a corkage fee that low? Def recommend going if you haven't!!!

Phillpe K.

Yelp
The food is good. Service good. Prices reasonable..... even low so you can't complain. Noisy, drafty, friendly, quaint . They try hard . Great value. Don't bring the kids.

Jeff K.

Yelp
We love this neighborhood gem. It's a wonderful place for date night, special occasions, and of course family time. Our granddaughters first visit and she signed more for their amazing bread pudding.

Maximilien S.

Yelp
The only real French restaurant in Los Angeles area, Been going there for years never disappointed, very good price point. The server was on point Serge is the best.

Shannon E.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the service was just okay. As a frequent visitor to the old Ventura Blvd location, I was excited when my Aunt invited me to dinner in Agora Hills. We had a reservation for 8 PM on a Saturday night. We got there at 7:50 to check in however we were not seated until 8:30. Once seated, our waiter never looked us in the eye, he rushed us to order & threw the food down when it came. They were clearly having a very busy night, however, the lack of good customer service cannot be ignored. The only saving grace is the food is absolutely delicious. I had onion soup, escargot & chicken balsamic. Everything was cooked perfectly and sssoo good!

Robert G.

Yelp
You could never go wrong coming here, for years and years they were in Sherman Oaks. But after losing their lease or not renewing it they moved to Agoura Hills. Without losing a beat this place is still one of the best values starting with their $2 corkage fee is a home run! When ordering a entrée, you can get soup or salad for $5 witch is a great starter, I always get the Caesar salad. Then my go to entrée is ahi tuna and I sub the veggies for Brussel sprouts. And always get a side of truffle fries o man they are good. And for dessert a order of bread pudding. My wife always gets the lamb chops. When I'm done roll me out lol. The staff is great and are from the old location! Ask for Matt been my waiter. For years. Plenty of parking. The place is always packed!

Jolie F.

Yelp
Never a good start to a French restaurant when they can't say your name and it's French. And even worst then first blunder is when they ask you to wait in the cold when you have a reservation. After waiting for 15 minutes, checked with the host and my name was crossed off the list. To top that off they sat us in a drafting section the restaurant which is partially inside and partially outside. Since Covid the restaurant has double in size with two patio areas. Going back to the question is this a French restaurant? Looking at the menu, attached, you can clearly see that the menu is not so French! We even got Italian on the menu. The dessert menu not really French as well! As for food? With entrees you can add on soup for two dollars or Cesar for three dollars. I order a Cesar and it was a joke! The Cesar was so small! Size has gone down! The salad was just lettuce and some horrible croutons! I ordered lamb, which was fine! Nothing too exciting! Was cooked properly! Potatoes were nice and rich! To end on a positive note my star goes to our server who was very attentive. And to the the fact that you can bring wine for only a two dollar corking fee! So would I go again? Probably not, as not worth the money! But the restaurant won't be crying over me as in weekends the restaurant is super busy as nowhere else to go in this area! Especially a place that you could bring wine for two dollars!

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious cuisine and ambiance. We had a dinner reservation on Friday night at 7pm, but we had to stand up outside of the restaurant for half an hour before being seated because the bar was full and there were no seats available outside.

Yelp
Went out for a dinner date as my partner was craving steak au poivre ( I forgot to take a picture of it). We decided to grab an early dinner reservation when they opened and check Cafe Bizou out. We both got the Prix Fixe dinner which starts at $35 pp. I opted to upgrade for the escargot, the pork tenderloin and flourless chocolate cake. It's a filling The Pre Fixe has essentially almost all the menu options and it's a really great deal. The escargot was pleasant, the pork tenderloin was tender and we'll seasoned and was accompanied by perfectly cooked broccoli , greens beans and mash potatoes. Dessert was the highlight for me as a person who studied French baking. I thought this was maybe the best part of the pre Fixe menu overall. Because we arrived when they open service was prompt and by the time we got to our third course folks were waiting outside on tables, this place definitely books out on open table, so I highly suggest a reservation and arriving early or later in the evening if you'd like a quieter dining experience. They have both an outdoor seating with a covered patio and indoor dining. We opted for outdoor dining and felt it was comfortable and a nice setup especially as it was a warm and sunny afternoon. Overall this is a great place to get french food which isn't a common cuisine in the area, so definitely worth a visit. We spotted a lot more dishes we wanted to try and saw there are various daily specials throughout the week. We thought the food was fair for the price. The wine options were a bit limited, but my wife and I enjoyed their other cocktail and beverage options. Definitely a place to revisit and felt would be a great date night option.

Yelp
My family and I absolutely adore Cafe Bizou and have been enjoying meals here for as long as I can remember. The entire staff is always friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is also so warm and comfortable; yet fancy enough for date night. The food is delicious. I'm addicted to their Spicy Chicken Fettuccine and it's the only thing I ever have. My dad loves their rigatoni pasta w/ chicken and my mom enjoys the chicken balsamic. My husband is the wild card as he chooses something different each time. Coming to Cafe Bizou a few times a year, despite living far away, is a great family meal tradition we have. Highly recommend to anyone in LA or Ventura County.

Yelp
We went for the $35 three course meal. Overall it was an average experience. The first course of potato leek soup was good. It was not drowned in butter and was good. The second course of the Pork Tenderloins was boring at best. The meat was flavorless and dry. The mash potatoes were almost cold. The desert of Tiramisu was also good. The service was slow. To be fair the place was packed, but it took 90 minutes to get through dinner and most of it was waiting. I expected a lot more from a place like this, maybe it's why I was so disappointed. I doubt I'll go back for the three course. Maybe a visit when it's not so crowded.

Yelp
I Just realized I never reviewed Cafe Bizou again after they moved to Agoura! Cafe Bizou is hands down one of the best restaurants in the LA area. I cannot think of anywhere else that offers the level of quality food, service, and ambiance that they do, all at reasonable pricing. There's also that $2 corkage fee that can't be beat. The owner, Philippe, has Cafe Bizou running like a well oiled machine. Cafe Bizou may be newish to Agoura but Philippe has been doing this for decades and the Sherman Oaks location was around for 25 years. They also had lovely locations in Pasadena and Santa Monica. Most of his staff have been with him for a very long time as well, our server last night has been with him for 20 years! That says a lot. Philippe is also right in there with the rest of his staff, setting up new tables/linens, greeting everyone who comes in, etc. - he is hands on and it shows. Pretty much every family birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion has been celebrated at Bizou. I have never been disappointed. The only disappointment is that they no longer have the veal sweetbreads or sorbet (duo/trio) on the menu - I know covid played a role in this but would love to see those items return. Some of my favorite appetizers include; berry fig salad, tuna tartare and baked mushrooms. I also highly recommend asking about their soup of the day - they have great soups and it is only $2 to add to your meal! Where else can you find that?! Favorite entrees include: blackened salmon, beef stroganoff, Parmesan crusted wild alaskan sanddabs, beef Wellington (sometimes offered as a special); and the steak frites (filet) but I sub out the french fries for mashed potatoes - they are great at making accommodations. I'm not a big lamb person but my other family members love the rack of lamb. The seating inside and outside is lovely - you really can't go wrong with either. String lights illuminate the covered patio. I highly recommend making reservations as they can get very busy. It is located in a strip mall with a lot of parking but it can still be difficult to find parking during peak hours so you may want to allow a few extra minutes.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Great staff. Great prices. Always jammed must have reservations. Stuffed mushrooms & all the fish is wonderful. The flourless chocolate cake a MUST. Great bread pudding. Bring your own wine $2.00 corkage fee! Best place for fine dining that you can afford & enjoy. Been going there since it opened 35 years ago. Date night great place also.

Yelp
There is a huge caveat of this review is from a dinner during dineLA times... weirdly their prix fixe menu is exactly the same, price and all, whether it is dineLA or not...but I've noticed that all restaurants dip in quality a bit with the volume of customers that come around dineLA times... Dinner comes with an appetizer, a main, and dessert. I ordered the lobster ravioli and my friend ordered the roasted stuffed mushrooms. For some reason I can't figure out, the filling of the ravioli and the mushrooms had a similar texture and taste... neither were particularly memorable... For the entree, I opted for the black tagallini pasta with lobster, shrimp and scallops. The pasta was over boiled and sort of fell apart. The seafood and tomato sauce reminded me a bit of cioppino. It was missing something but I couldn't figure out. It was not the grated parmesan which did not make it better... overall, with so many other options for a main, this is a pass if I come back next time. The flourless chocolate cake was surprisingly light and fluffy like a soufflé or hot mousse! The bread pudding had a lovely caramel sauce which made me just want the caramel and ice cream. The sourdough bread was absolutely delightful and their house wines are reasonably priced and taste like house wines. Would I be back for non dineLA? Probably for the beef Wellington daily specials and the bread. Otherwise maybe not... conclusion Cafe Bizou is a French restaurant that tastes home cooked. Nothing amazing, but nothing that couldn't be chalked up to the increased crowds that is horribly wrong either.

Yelp
I went with a group of 6. Everyone's meals were amazing! I had the rack of lamb, others had the filet, lobster, shrimp, and beef stroganoff. The desserts were terrific! (Flourless chocolate cake, tiramisu, and bread pudding). Our waiter could not have been better! Great ambience! $2 corkage fees cannot be beat anywhere. Cafe Bizou will be in my regular rotation for restaurants!

Yelp
We've been here several times and each time was amazing! Food, service and Pear Martini ... OUTSTANDING!!!
