"The folks behind mousse brand Mojo converted their dessert shop in East Harlem to a full Belgian restaurant, and it’s a great casual option for a giant bowl of moules or steak frites with tangy au poivre. There’s a bar where you can sit and ask the owners about the Trappist beers on offer, and a row of tables where friends catch up over beef stew and wine. All the red accents make it feel pretty cozy inside—make sure to check out the red light district-themed bathroom. "We reported on Cafe D’Anvers in February—a Belgian bistro in East Harlem with $37 steak frites and chicken vol au vent—but they haven’t been able to open fully because of gas-permit related issues. Finally, about 10 months later, they’re cleared for takeoff. The chef also owns the chocolate mousse shop called MOJO across the street, as well as Bar Goyana nearby. Such a nice addition to the neighborhood! The owners are so nice and they worked really hard to open this spot. Love the cozy environment. HIGHLY recommend the Croquettes de Crevettes, it's delicious! We were familiar with their mousse, so we ordered the Belgian Waffles as dessert - but please have the mousse if you have never tried, it's the best mousse ever!

Warm, indulgent, and quietly elegant—tucked in the heart of East Harlem. Service was attentive yet relaxed. Wine pairings: spot on. The food is so flavorful it speaks for itself—plated for pleasure and memory. Such an intentionally crafted space, it makes you feel like you’re a part of its dream. This jewel is the sweet spot between refinement and comfort. I left glowing and look forward to basking in its ambiance again.

I really enjoyed my dinner here and loved the quiet and charming atmosphere. I had the french onion soup and streak frites - both très délicieux. Our waiter was lovely and attentive to our needs. I'll for sure be back!

This place needs to be on everyone's list !!! A real gem with fantastic food , atmosphere and service ! One of the best foie gras that I ever had (and I had many...) with a great, so appropriate, balsamic vinegar. Excellent (and very generous) sea bass & Belgian beef stew are a must picks for entrees. And you can't miss their top class mousse for dessert. Lots of more , great looking dishes on the menu . Highly recommended !!!! Definitely a destination!!!!!

Cafe D'Anvers recently opened and they did not disappoint! This Belgium inspired restaurant has a diverse selection of dishes that also includes a vegan option. They also have a lovely selection of Belgium beer to enjoy with your meal! The service was attentive and kind, enthusiastic about the menu options and happy to discuss any specifics. The interior should allow for strollers and families of four if needed. Overall the ambiance was warm and inviting.

Had an excellent dinner with a friend at the recently opened Cafe d'Anvers on Lexington and 100th. The owners also own the popular Bar Goyana just a few doors down on 100th Street. The ambiance is charming with a tables lined up with a banquette along the wall. There are also a few stools at the bar. I ordered the Vent au Vol, a delicious chicken dish with veal meatballs and mushrooms in a cream sauce topped with a puff pastry and served with Belgian style fries that are amazing. My friend ordered the steak frites. She said that it was the best steak frites she's had outside of Belgium. Our server was informative, attentive and professional. During their soft launch, the restaurant is open only for dinner Wednesday through Saturday. They will be adding more days and start serving brunch on weekends. The UES has been a wasteland for good restaurants. Am delighted that our neighborhood is experiencing a renaissance of nice dining options.
