Yelp
When you are away from your home town, it can be a little stressful at times not knowing the lay of the land. Trying to figure out a place to eat can be a little tricky.
Do yourself a favor and go find yourself a local person and ask him where is a good place to grab some food. I think 90% of them would say café Genevieve.
Also, thank God for Yelp. You can't go wrong with other people's recommendation.
Our first morning in Jackson hole, we were directed to this wonderful place. The restaurant is located in a historic log cabin in downtown Jackson. as you enter their dine in section, you're greeted by this funky wallpaper with a portrait of a huge hanging on the wall aka Ms. Genevieve.
Their menu is inspired by home cooked classics, such as eggs, Benedict, corn, beef, hash, Belgian waffles, Fried, chicken and waffles, cheesy bacon grits, and eggs.
This is by far the best place for breakfast or brunch. On the first day, I ordered their corn beef hash with two poached eggs and a wheat toast. I'd give that dish a nine out of 10. The day before we left Jackson hole revisited this place after coming from Yellowstone and I had the cheesy bacon grits with two poached, egg and wheat toast. So good!
My suggestion would be to go off hours, it gets really crowded because it's so popular. Café Genevieve was featured on Food Network, triple D and the today show.
They also have a gift shop we can purchase coffee mugs hats. They're wonderful, granola, coffee, cups and mugs but there's star is pig candy literally, candy bacon. I hate to say it, but I ate my box before I even got back to Honolulu.
If you find yourself in Jackson hole, Wyoming, do yourself a favor and stop on by you will not be disappointed.
