The 16 Best Persian Restaurants In LA

"Persian-style pizza is one of the most popular street foods in Tehran, but if you want to try it in LA, head to Café Glacé. This casual snack shop specializes in personal-sized pies that are thin and crunchy, with almost no sauce and a whole lot of cheese on top. Like Garfield’s lasagna level of cheesiness. If it’s your first time, go with the Mix. Topped with beef mortadella, hot dogs, green peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms, it’s a salty-savory masterpiece that should be on any pizza aficionado’s shortlist. You’ll also notice packets of ketchup and ranch sauce in your takeout box—squiggle them over the top. The pizza purists can shout all they want, but the combination of sweet ketchup and creamy tart ranch is shockingly brilliant and takes this pizza to a new level of excellence." - brant cox, arden shore, garrett snyder, sylvio martins

The 8 Best Dishes We Ate In March

"Persian-style pizza is one of the most popular street foods in Tehran, and in West LA, our favorite version can be found at Café Glacé. Like, Garfield’s lasagna preferred level of cheesiness. The spinach and goat cheese pizza is a standout, simply because of how pleasantly soft and mild the actual goat cheese is, but our favorite pie on the menu is the “Mix.” Topped with beef mortadella, beef hot dogs, green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and mozzarella, this is a salty, savory masterpiece and should be on any LA pizza aficionados shortlist." - the infatuation los angeles crew

Café Glacé Review - Westwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Persian-style pizza is one of the most popular street foods in Tehran, and in West LA, our favorite version can be found at Café Glacé. The crust isn’t particularly thin or thick, there’s no tomato sauce, and there’s a lot of cheese on top. Like, Garfield’s lasagna preferred level of cheesiness. The spinach and goat cheese pizza is a standout, simply because of how pleasantly soft and mild the actual goat cheese is, but our favorite pie on the menu is the “Mix.” Topped with beef mortadella, beef hot dogs, green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and mozzarella, this is a salty, savory masterpiece and should be on any LA pizza aficionados short list. You’ll also probably notice the packets of ketchup and ranch sauce in your takeout box - those are for the pizza too. Let the Neapolitan and New York-style pizza purists shout all they want, the combination of the sugar from the ketchup and creamy sourness of the ranch works, and takes the pizza to a completely new level of excellence." - Brant Cox

Google
Highly recommended. I usually go to this place when I’m around. Almost all the items in the menu are hard to pass. Their Ash Reshteh is delicious (the small size is more than enough for one person), and their Persian pizza is as much authentic as you can get.

Google
This is the closest to a Persian pizza that I have ever seen in LA. I got the mix pizza, Lots of toppings, a little too greasy, but still good. The medium was enough for two people. The reception was nice and friendly. They have a nice and secluded backyard to enjoy your meal

4.5/5 Stars! "I stumbled upon Cafe Glace in LA while exploring the city, and I'm so glad I did! This charming little cafe is a hidden gem, tucked away on 1441 A. The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff. The coffee was excellent, and the pastries were freshly baked and delicious. I ordered the cappuccino and a croissant, and both were top-notch. What really sets Cafe Glace apart, however, is its unique and intimate atmosphere. The cafe is small, but it feels like a warm hug. The decor is eclectic and charming, with comfortable seating and plenty of natural light. My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is that the seating area is quite small, so it can get crowded quickly. However, this also adds to the cafe's charm and makes it feel like a true neighborhood gem. Rating Breakdown: - Coffee: 5/5 - Pastries: 5/5 - Atmosphere: 5/5 - Service: 4.5/5 - Value: 4.5/5 Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Glace to anyone looking for a unique and charming coffee spot in LA. Just be prepared for a cozy and intimate atmosphere!"

The toppings are a blend of fresh vegetables and deli meats, creating a delicious experience. Been here many times for yummy Persian sandwiches and pizzas. We really like the combo pizza, hot dog 🌭 and tongue 👅 sandwiches! This time I tried the taco version which is also good. Make sure you also order a side of olivier salad. Not on menu but they are happy to scoop a box for you.

Google
One of the two places in the USA that I experienced the true sense of Persian fast food. Make sure to try their Mix Pizza, Special Sandwich and Saffron Icecream which are symbols of Persian tasts. Very friendly staff

So what’s a Persian pizza? It looks similar to a regular pizza, it has a medium thickness but soft crust, the ingredients were finely chopped and it seemed that the cheese was added on top of other ingredients before baking it. It was very delicious. We also had a gyro sandwich that tasted different than the ones we get from a Greek place, but nonetheless it was good and the bread (no pita) was excellent. It’s definitely worth a try if you haven’t had a Persian pizza before.

Yelp
Decided to do a spontaneous Friday foodie adventure and came across this place. I did not dine in but their pick up process was quick and easy. I ordered one of their signature personal pizzas and was pleasantly surprised. I def will try more of their menu whenever I'm in that part of Westwood

Yelp
We tried the Iranian pizza and cow tongue sandwich! Each was $18. The Iranian pizza had an interesting crust, similar to one of those packaged pizza crusts. The crust was light and chewy, different from the typical American pizzas. The pizza had meat, bell peppers, and was covered in cheese. They had a ranch and a hot sauce you can add. I really enjoyed the cow tongue sandwich! The bread was lightly toasted but not too hard. The cow tongue had a slightly game-y taste (that wasn't overpowering) and a unique texture! The texture is almost like brisket that is more condensed. It paired nicely with the onions and tomatoes and lettuce. The restaurant was clean and the employee was friendly. We waited around 15 min for our food.

Yelp
Love the food here and specially the Persian pizza. The staff are super nice too. It's really nostalgic and takes me back to my childhood

Yelp
The place is super cute and cozy They have some sort of backyard seating as well We had a special sandwich and mix pizza and both were delicious They had different type of sauces and the staff were nice. - Its a bit hard to find a parking spot.

Yelp
Delicious mix pizza! I will always come here when I am in Westwood to get Persian pizza.

Yelp
Their special sandwich is to die for! They got a cute patio at the back as well. I also like the fact that they remain open later compared to other restaurants. Check in and get a scoop of their delicious saffron ice cream!!

Bijan N.

Yelp
Tried the Persian-style pizza at Cafe Glace - absolutely delicious and brought back memories of my student days, where I used to go to a pizzeria in Guicha-Tehran and having pizza with Avishan (thyme). The pizza had smoky sausage, rich tomato sauce, a blend of Persian spices, and lots of flavorful cheese. Cozy café vibes, perfect for reminiscing with reasonable price. I ended with their Persian tea and a piece of zolbia, pure perfection! The tea was truly "lab sooz, lab dooz, lab riz": rich, hot, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The special sandwich is really special. The Bread is probably what makes it awesome but it's the combination of all the ingredients that makes it super yummy

Yelp
Persian new year is on the 20th but everybody celebrates it at 8 o'clock tonight. So the Persian flag was out all over Westwood. So I decided to go with my best friend Reza to have Persian breakfast. Food was delicious. I really liked the vegetarian Samosas I had this drink, called rosewater, Chia I'm obsessed! I like using rosewater in the morning to wash my face. The first drink did feel a little soapy, but after a minute it was delicious. I love this spot very clean and beautiful . The back patio, Super enchanting. My new favorite spot five stars #HappyPersianNewYear

Yelp
The fries were just okay! Just very heavy. Did not think it would come like this and it was definitely kind of sitting out. Luke warm at best. Cool concept and definitely filled me up though!

Yelp
Persian pizza is hard to come by so when we found out about this place we gotta check it out. A small shop front in the Little Tehran area but they actually got an adorable shaded outdoor seatings at the back! Owner was running the place with a few other people. We tried the small Mixed Pizza and it's delicious. Super gooey cheese, plenty of toppings. My partner is Iranian and he's very happy. They also got other toppings and sandwiches as well. Pro tip: check-in on Yelp and get a free scoop of saffron ice cream!

Yelp
Came here with some friends who are big fans of Persian pizza. They talked up Persian pizza, but I still couldn't really get a good sense of what it was...until I came here for my first (and hopefully not last) Persian pizza experience. I love that they have a patio around the back. It's not the nicest outdoor space, as it seems like a just a small alley space between buildings, but they've done a good job of really making it look cute and welcoming! My friends ordered a house salad and the Mix pizza. The servers did come check on us, brought us lots of water. However, they did forget our salad, so we needed to ask for that. But they were pretty apologetic when they realized that we never got it and they were quick to bring it out. Ok, now for the food... The Mix pizza tastes like a really meat-heavy everything pizza minus the pepperoni. Very cheesy. I actually didn't notice that it didn't have tomato sauce, and honestly, I kind of didn't miss the tomato sauce. My friends told me that you can add ketchup to it if you'd like. I tried it both with and without ketchup... I prefer it without the ketchup. Is this gourmet pizza? No. Is this really solid pizza with the works that includes plenty of vegetables and meats? Yes! I would love to come get this again!

Yelp
Very friendly and very good pizza and sandwich. We got mix pizza and beef tongue sandwich and they were both really good!

Yelp
I came here to pick up 3 different Persian pizzas and they were all amazing. My Persian friend was in town from London and he enjoyed the pizza so much that we went again later that week to get some more. We also tried the sandwiches (the egg one and the sausage one) and they were both great!
google avatar

Ari Y.

Yelp
I love the food here. My favorite is the Persian Pizza. Aside from that hot dog and kotlet sandwich are also very good. With that said, it is a little pricy for what it is. The service is very good. I really like the little sitting area in the back. It's clean and somewhat private. Will be back here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Our favorite spot for Persian pizza and sandwiches! The have plenty of seating and a really cozy outdoor area! The prices are fair and the service is consistently good.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious food, clean inside and pleasant atmosphere. This is what is missing today in the restaurant business. I recommend visiting this place.

Yelp
Their food is OK. The service was not so great when we went late night they should be using filtered water for their tea not tapwater. I like their pizzas. It's a little cute. Send Shop.

Yelp
Omg looove!! This place was soooo cute. After exploring Persian Square, we were recommended this place for Persian Pizza. I will say, this was delicioussss. We shared a 12" Mix Pizza and my friend got a Zaban Sandwich. I didn't try the sandwich, but the pizza was SooOooOo yum. Make sure to put ketchup on each slice for the ultimate Persian pizza experience. Hidden (!!) in the back there is a patio area which is complete ~vibes~. I am so glad we asked to use the restroom otherwise we would have sat in the front. We were starving and were soooo content with Cafe Glacé. I will definitely come back again the next time I am craving Persian pizza!

Yelp
Westwood is my go to place for great persian food. This place is one of the tops on my list. They have the best Pizza. Have you ever had beef tongue? Its surprisingly great on pizza. They have this little garden area in the back of the restaurant that has the best ambience. It feels like you are in a magical oasis, you forget that you are actually in the middle of the city. The staff is excellent , they are patient and kind. They take care of you like you are one of their best friends. True hospitality at its best. They have great coffee and persian snacks as well. Try their Signature Cafe Glace and their Persian Tacos, I dare you:-) The only down side is that they don't have parking and its hard to find in this area. Regardless, I wouldn't miss it if you are in the area.

Pantea M.

Yelp
My favorite place to have Persian Pizza! Their service is a bit slow but they are very friendly and nice.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday afternoon Received our food super quick. Server was friendly and helpful. Our first time here. We ordered the Mix Pizza 12 inch more than enough for 2 people with 8 slices. We asked for the pizza to be well done extra crispy. We also ordered the Persian hot dog sandwich to share. Everything tasted amazing. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
I really love the food here. this place is so nice and cozy. the quality of the food is always amazing. one of the best spots in Westwood. I love their Persian pizza and sandwiches.
google avatar

Jaenell C.

Yelp
Definitely unassuming exterior but the food is good! Reasonable prices and not doing too much. I had the veggie pizza and my bf had a sandwich. I really enjoyed the pizza. There's an extra layer of cheese on top that gives it more flavor. I also loved the herbs sprinkled on top, super yummy. Overall we'll definitely be back when we're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm willing to try here again and the food wasn't bad but the price was a little outrageous for a sandwich.
google avatar

Yelp
They have very delicious Persian makhloot pizza, ice cream, Persian snacks such as torshak and torshab. I recommend this place to Persian food lovers.

Yelp
Coming out of my yelp review hole to post one for a local business... You ever have food so good you gotta leave a yelp review just to say thank you? This looks like a family run business that serves a famous Persian pizza but this review is for the sandwiches and Persian taco. Need to talk about this bread -- boy. My favorite hoagie bread on the Westside, (or even all of LA proper), hands down. I think next time I will ask for straight mortadella because the bread and beef mortadella are that good. The Persian taco with ground beef is also a banger. It feels a little bit like a gyro without tzatziki -- pillowy, slightly chewy flatbread with crisped edges, seasoned ground beef, some tomato and parsley and a little kick. The bread is just sturdy enough to hold the juices in, but still supple and not soggy even though the tacos traveled for about 15 mins. It's great comfort food. Update: I tried the pizza. Oh man... this is my first time trying Persian Pizza and my thought is "is EVERY Persian pizza like this?" I got the beef tongue pizza because it sounded the most interesting... There is a golden brown layer of cheese that's covering tender little chunks of beef, onions, mushrooms, and much more cheese. It's like a cheesesteak pizza, but only if cheesesteaks had that golden griddled cheese on top (a cheesesteak could never, honestly). A rigid but still foldable crust that holds up well against all of the ingredients I just mentioned. Pro tip: just get a large. It's huge, you will want some the next day. When you reheat the pizza in a toaster oven, the bottom of the crust gets crunchy and the cheese re-melts really nicely. Throw some Momofuku Chili Oil on it *wink* and you're all set. It's not your standard Italian pizza (there isn't any red sauce on the Beef Tongue pizza), but you get enough Italian-American (or even Japanese-Italian at Sei) in this part of town anyway. Try something new! It's my current pizza obsession!! Man I love this place. The nice lady at the cash register was so kind to me and my 1-year-old. She gave him a big 'ol smile and handed him a big straw that he waved around like a sword. Cafe Glacé hope you stay in business for many, many more years! Be blessed!
google avatar

Setare A.

Yelp
Delicious food. The Persian pizza was perfectly made and the ash was amazing. Will definitely order from here again:)

Kamran A.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere. Been coming here for a very long time. Best Persian pizza in LA area. Give it a try if you're around the area. Service is also amazing.

Yelp
My friend and I were craving pizza, and my friend suggested this place for Persian pizza. We ordered the special fries, which is more like a thin sheet of baked cheese sprinkled with fries, beef mortadella, and mushrooms. It was a nice complement to our pizza but was probably something we could've made at home. We also ordered the 7" mix pizza (mortadella, hot dog, green peppers, tomatoes, and cheese) and the veggie pizza (green peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and cheese). The crust is on the thin side, and it's layered on top with crushed herbs. It was very different from the pizza I'm accustomed to, but it was a nice change. Free ice cream with Yelp check-in. I chose saffron with pistachios, and it was the perfect ending to the meal.
google avatar

Bemnet Y.

Yelp
Tasty sandwiches and really interesting flavor Persian ice cream. I live in the neighborhood and go to this deli regularly. The last time I went, the guy was super nice too...shout out to Hope! The Special sandwich is my go to!

Zachary J.

Yelp
Got a bandari sandwhich. It seemed like they made the wrong sandwhich because there was zero tomato paste, and the hotdog had no flavor. The prices are way too high as well, and they no longer have their thousand island style sauce at the tables. This was my last time coming here
google avatar

Shaghayegh N.

Yelp
If I could give zero i would . Decided to try this place visiting from Silicon Valley for persian pizza based on reviews but very disappointed. 12 inch mix pizza for $26 and you could only taste bread and cheese. Would not recommend this place.totally ripped off

Yelp
Everything was great here!! I love the fresh food and ice creams are bomb!! I definitely recommend this place

Yelp
A Persian friend suggested gace as a place to go for persian street food. The cafe did not disappoint. Authentic sandwiches, pizza, soup, salad, beverages, and even persian desserts. You order at the counter, pay, and they deliver the food in a timely manner to your table. My persian friend and I split their signature sandwich. We each chose a persian pizza. I tried an intriguing non-american soft beverage. All the flavors for the entire meal were 100 per cent persian like my friend said you would find in Tehran! Who would have thought Iranians love pizza and hot dogs? They have a lovely covered permanent covered patio type dining area and even a few tables out front. Parking is tough as this is little Tehran aka tehrangeles in westwood on a Saturday night. Street parking on side streets. The pizza was disappointing. The toppings are unusual but the actual pizza- the crust and pizza base topping reminded me of supermarket frozen pizza. My sandwich was the hit if the evening. A special sub with a sub roll that was crispy on tge outside and pillows soft inside. Apparently Iranians love mayo and ranch dressing! Go figure. They blended in well with our food. Prices were reasonable and I am a frugal bostonian. Definitely an intriguing experience. I enjoyed the food and will make a repeat visit. First there are about 8 or 10 other persian restaurants I want to try on westwood Boulevard. I am really enjoying the neighborhood and tge food. Persian food is clearly not just kebabs and rice. Los Angeles has a huge Iranian population. Probably the largest and most diverse persian restaurant selection in the United states.

Yousef S.

Yelp
Very good food quiet atmosphere reasonable price friendly service good options.

Jason E.

Yelp
The best food in town reminds me of when I was a kid in Iran eating pizza. The service was great they explained to me everything and the ambiance was beautiful I recommend the back patio
google avatar

Elaine S.

Yelp
I tried the mixed Persian pizza. It wasn't bad but it tasted a little too plain for me. I thought it tasted way better when I took it home and put sriracha on it! The size is small and shareable if neither party is too hungry.
google avatar

Sara A.

Yelp
The ultimate stop for the best Persian pizza in town! The pizzas come in one size (personal size) and is filling. I recommend the "mix" pizza for the most authentic flavor. It comes with traditional toppings of hot dog slices, mortadella, green pepper, and mushrooms. Keep in mind that Persian pizza is different. It has a flatter crust kind of like a pita bread then a layer of toppings, and then a layer of cheese on top sprinkles with some dry mint. There is no tomato sauce, so most Persians will drizzle ketchup or even ranch on the top. It may puns bizarre, but give it a try and if it's not to you're liking. It's great without too! Their aash (soup) is also very good and has freshly fried onions on top for a flavorful crunch in your soup. It's great for a cold or rainy day. Although I would try the pizza if it is your first time here to really experience what the cafe offers. End your meal (or drink with it) a cafe glace. This is basically a scoop of vanilla ice cream in cold coffee topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzle some what similar to a coffee float, but only sweetened by the ice cream so it is not super sweet. They offer a few variations of this with chocolate ice cream and different toppings as well! If you're looking for something fruity, they have fresh pomegranate juice that is delicious as well, but definitely a bit bitter (all natural).

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, HAVE MERCY ON YOUR TASTE BUDS. The idea behind a PERSIAN SANDWICH SHOP is just a fantasy in this place. Their food is mediocre at its best, quality of their baguette is Substandard at its best. Every bite you take is followed by a dust storm of breadcrumbs which is a testimony to the cheap, poor quality of the (so called) baguette. Let's talk about taste of the food, IT IS NONEXISTENT. The only redeeming quality about this place is the STAFF who IS EXTREMELY POLITE AND FRIENDLY. Prices are crazy EXPENSIVE and quality is disgustingly low. IT SEEMS THAT THE IDEA BEHIND THIS BUSINESS IS MOTIVATED BY GREED RATHER THAN QUALITY. I will never go back to this place, there are much better places in Westwood and in Glendale if you really want a true Persian sandwich.
google avatar

Nareg Z.

Yelp
Food is tasty and delicious, took my family and they loved the food also. They kinda busy might need to hire more staff. Overall will recommend and go back .
google avatar

Sky J.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing ice cream! I visited LA for the first time and I had already grabbed some ice cream from another place so I didn't initially go in for that. I was hungry so I ordered some food. I got their Persian pizza (veggie) and loaded fries. Both were out of this world tasty! Once I checked in to Yelp, I realized they were giving free ice cream to Elite members so I had to try their ice cream! I'm so glad I did because it was the best saffron pistachio ice cream! It wasn't too sugary and the taste was very balanced and refreshing! The staff were also very kind :) Make sure you give them a try!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
We had the special sandwich and Persian ice cream. The food was great, it was served fast and the restaurant is open pretty late which is convenient. If you haven't tried the Persian ice cream you should, you can get a complementary one if you check in with Yelp.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in Westwood! Tucked in the middle of several other shop fronts, you won't be disappointed to stop in here. They specialize in "Persian Pizzas" that are AMAZING! I went two days in a row to get the veggie pizza and it was mouth watering both times. The cheese melts off the pizza like the waterfalls at Niagara. Don't miss out.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
Wow! I get that prices have gone up everywhere but their mixed pizza is now $14!!!! Like, a $4 increase from last year. Not worth it especially with how tiny the pizza actually is! You can get a full persian meal around the same price at an actual restaurant....
google avatar

Golnaz Y.

Yelp
Their pizzas are delicious. Yummy! The staff is friendly and they once refunded us because they did not have nabat. The service is quick and good. The ambience especially the back door patio is beautiful with a cozy environment.
