How to Taste Your Way Through the Napa Valley | Eater

"In Napa, wine gets all the attention, but there are beer lovers here, too — and, in 1987, one of them opened a microbrewery. Actually, it was the first brewery opened in Napa since Prohibition. With eight different beers brewed on-premise, outdoor seating on the edge of the Napa river, and live music during the week, it’s the perfect place to relax with a pint. It has some great pizza options, too. When in season, don’t miss the pancetta delicata squash pizza with basil pesto, brown butter pecans, crispy sage, and fresh mozzarella." - Lee Musho

The 19 Best Restaurants In Calistoga

"There is no way you can walk by the Calistoga Inn, with its huge patio, bonfire, and inside/outside wraparound bar, and not stop in for a drink. While we love dropping by with a friend for a beer flight and cocktails, like the passion fruit caipirinha, the garden out back works great for larger groups and kids. When it comes to the food, go for the gnocchi with mushrooms, spinach, and corn truffle puree, and the trout pizza if it’s on the menu.  " - christina julian

The Best Brunches in Napa Valley | Eater SF

"Perched next to the Napa River, Calistoga Inn’s broad patio is the place to be on a sunny weekend morning. The brunch menu is only five dishes — huevos rancheros, French toast, and the like — but a lengthy lunch menu is also available for those who don’t eat eggs or bread. The corned beef is braised in Calistoga Red Ale, as good a reason as any to get the Reuben. Pair it with a handcrafted kölsch, crafted at the onsite brewery." - Christina Mueller

What a lovely establishment. My husband and I, a couple of septuagenarians, arrived for dinner at 4:45 pm on a Wednesday. We were seated inside, our preference, despite everyone else eating outside or at the bar. The staff were extremely gracious. I love braised beef short ribs have ordered rhem all across this country, I can honestly say these were the best I've had. Not a fatty, oily piece, but rather a very tasty, lean, but flavorful entrée served in a delicious, rich cabrtnet pan sauce. Nobody batted an eye when I requested a lovely, flavorful, crisp white Italian wine with this. To me, a red would have been too heavy, taking away from the rich flavors of my meal. My husband enjoyed the grilled pork chop as well. We both give our meal, the staff and the lovely restaurant 5 stars.

Google
A true 5 star experience! Rooms are very comfortable, location is perfect, and the staff are wonderful! Only suggestion would be to add a place to hang clothes, and put a tv in each room. Price is affordable for the area. Don’t be afraid of the shared bathrooms. Toilets and showers are completely private and there is a sink in each room. Highly recommended. Listing says breakfast is free. That is incorrect. However, they do offer free coffee and scones in the lobby. Check out Cafe Sarafornia for breakfast. You won’t be disappointed! Four minute walk from hotel.

Ate dinner at the restaurant - the drinks were great. However, the food was disappointing. We were going to order the mushroom ravioli but the server said it was only 4 small raviolis for ~$36, that’s laughable. We got the pizza instead for more calories for the price. We’ve had fig prosciutto pizza several places in the past and love it but it was pretty flavorless here with not very generous toppings/sauce/cheese. They didn’t have any balsamic glaze to help add flavor/sauce. Overall I think a child could probably make the pizza we had, it was very simple and plain. I think expensive restaurants should be able to make quality food that is challenging to make at home. The Brussels sprouts also were underwhelming compared to many other places I’ve ordered them. Not all sides were charred/crispy and they didn’t taste very flavorful either. Would not recommend dining here, perhaps stop for drinks for the atmosphere then eat elsewhere.

Google
Restaurant review: I don't get why the reviews aren't great. Most places do a few things well, and if I find those dishes that's what I do at that place. The salmon here is stellar. I came here years back and came twice that trip. Came recently and the salmon was again great. The risotto had too many summer squash in it, but still a great dish. And the wings. For the all restaurants we've eaten at here/st. Helena, they were mostly overrated. This is underrated. Casual and undercover complex.

Google
Came by the bar/brewery on happenstance. We asked about wine tasting options although not on the menu the manager Damian helped us pick a sample of different wines. I have ever received better service in my life. It was clear to me he was deeply passionate about the wine and our experience. 10/10 would recommend ask for Damian to anyone looking for a unpretentious driven sommelier!

Google
Beautiful restaurant located next to Napa River. We had breakfast here with wonderful service. There was no vegan selections as indicated on ither website (their oats use cows milk), however there are vegetarian choices. We were sat in a comfortable booth to enjoy our meal.

Google
This review is for the restaurant only. We are local and have eaten here at least 4 times and it is consistently disappointing. This time the watermelon salad was overpriced, even for a higher end Napa Valley restaurant, which this is not, and the "feta" on the salad was more like soft old funky goat cheese. But there was very little on the salad, maybe because the cook knew the cheese was bad? The brussels sprouts were undercooked and tough. The Reuben sandwich was okay, served with an uninspired side salad in place of the fries. We like the outdoor setting and service was fine but the final kicker was charging 3 percent for use of a credit card?! !Credit card fees are the cost of doing business and for an expensive restaurant like this to tack that fee on, is disrespectful to the customers and all the other restaurants and businesses in the area that pay that fee without trying to pass that on to the customer. I hope this is worth it to the owner to irritate the customer like this to make a few bucks because we will never eat here again.

Matt A

Google
Seriously, a credit card surcharge? Pretty outrageous ask given the prices. This isn’t a convenience store… Everything else is great, including service and food quality. But I would consider not coming again due to that nickel and dime charge.

Yelp
This place is delicious! So much so, we went twice during our NYE stay. We made reservations for NYE where they offered a special menu that included prime rib. It was my first time having it so I'm not too sure what I should've been expecting, lol. It was good! All the food here is so good! The rosemary butter rolls were out of this world! We also had pizza on our second night that was yummy. They have a drink that I believe goes by the foxtail foxtrot, try it! The staff were very nice and accommodating. The restaurant is located in town, if you are staying locally it maybe walkable. It was a 5 min walk for us. Working out perfectly for NYE festivities. I have to shout out their outdoor seating, it's spectacular! For NYE we sat next to the river or creek. It was such a beautiful vibe. I absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant.

Yelp
I was in town to visit my brother and he suggested we all go to brunch at this restaurant. His wife said we need to get the house Parker rolls. Oh my goodness gracious, so amazing! The delicious rolls with the rosemary melted butter. Don't walk but run! The eggs Benedict was delicious! One of my cocktails was amazing but the other the mezcal was intense! The service was fantastic and sitting in the outdoor seating area adds a special ambience. If you like beer, they have beers made in house on tap! Delicious! Stop in for the amazing beer! Highly recommended!

Yelp
From start to finish, we were warmly welcomed and attended to with great care. Despite arriving without a reservation, we were lucky to find the patio open and beautifully set up. The stunning view of the river immediately captured my heart. We indulged in two glasses of wine, both delightful, but the highlight of the evening was the food. We tried the Pork Chop and the Prosciutto di Parma Pizza -- both were absolutely exceptional, bursting with flavor. The ambiance was cozy, complemented by festive Christmas music that added a magical touch to the evening. We ended the night in the fireplace area, sharing a brownie with ice cream dessert that was simply divine. Overall, we loved the experience and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Our server Manny was great! Our hostess was great with a kind welcome. I had to stop for the cappuccino after the winery and grab a bite for the road. Clean restroom, fresh food & calming music beautiful patio.

Yelp
American breakfast: 3 bacon 2 hashbrown 2 egg = $20 Again 3 bacon 2 hashbrown 2 bacon = $20 So American breakfast, and can't even get one slice of bread. My lord the world we live in makes me sad... I guess this is the American breakfast. Goodbye Yelp, going to stay home, apparently I make myself a $20 breakfast every morning.

Yelp
It's the only thing hopping in Calistoga after 6pm. There is an active patio and beautifully appointed interior dining room. It's perfect to accommodate the trends in weather and personal preferences. The prices are high. The service is slow. The specialty cocktail was okay. The food we had was delicious.

Yelp
The restaurant at the Calistoga Inn is an absolute vibe. We stayed in the second bar that faces the veranda and I was completely in love with the sleek design and clean colors. I ordered the Winter Mixed Greens & Endive Salad and it was amazing. The flavors mixed together was delicious and the amount of dressing was perfect. My husband ordered the Classic Reuben and every bit of it was consumed. We were pleased with our cocktail and mocktail as well, the Oaxaca Mezcal Sour and I forgot the second drink.

Yelp
Popped in for breakfast and wasn't busy at all. We got seated right away. It's cute inside and a nice seating area outside as well. We were the only table there most of the morning. We tried the French toast, short rib omelet, and hash. Prosecco was good but can't mess that up too much and coffee wasn't great. French toast wasn't anything special but looked good. The omelet filling was good but the eggs tasted and felt way overcooked. The filling of the omelet and the hash browns were both pretty greasy with a pool of it on the plate. The hash was prob the favorite dish that we tried.

Yelp
We wanted to grab a quick lunch in downtown Calistoga and we scoped out the Inn as we walked past. It seemed like a casual spot with decent outdoor seating. It wasn't super busy on a weekday and somehow we got seated right next to the fountain. Felt a little awkward and a lot of tinkle tinkling, but ah well. Pricing was a tad on the higher side - $20 for my reuben sandwich. The sandwich was pretty average with no complaints and it came with a side of fries. I was a bit disappointed on the strawberry shortcake dessert though - it felt pretty basic and the $12 price tag didn't feel justified. Our total bill was close to $100 for two people (2 entrees, 1 beer, and 1 dessert) including tax and tip. It didn't feel quite worth it for a very average dining experience, and this is coming from a food, ambiance, and service perspective. Would I come back? Maybe, but perhaps only to grab a beer so I could chill on the patio. Besides that, the food isn't compelling enough to warrant a return trip.

Yelp
You will not miss this restaurant when you enter Calistoga downtown from HW128. Though it affiliates with the Calistoga Inn, its actual setting is next to the Napa River with the ambient view of the river and a lot of the shady space. This restaurant offers some unique and interesting foods. The Prosciutto Pizza is one of them. Not only the presentation of the pizza was good, but also the ingredients were wonderful. The prosciutto wasn't that salty. Instead it had the sweet aroma that blended really well with the fig jam. The green on top just added the extra wholesome taste to the pizza. The other one we tried was the Turkey Brie. Not bad at all. The garlic French fries was something different too. It was minced fresh garlic speared on the fries. The service was fair but I did hope there weren't that many flies joining our outdoor luncheon. Overall, we were happy before saying goodbye to Calistoga.

Yelp
We chanced upon the restaurant at Calistoga Inn one Sunday for lunch. The place is nice and they have ample outside seating. The service is prompt and attentive, the food is average. The $20 corkage fee is reasonable. I will try other restaurants in town first before I go back.

Yelp
So romantic, beautiful setting by the river, live jazz, wonderful service, such delicious food - perfect date spot in beautiful Calistoga, whenever we visit we always make the inn for at least one meal!

Yelp
We had a great experience here at Calistoga Inn. The property was well kept, the staff was friendly and they had an excellent food and beverage selection. It's centrally located as well, so if you would like to take a stroll downtown after hours you can. Everything is walking distance, and it's nestled in a beautiful area of town.

Yelp
Hot hot hot! What an awesome new experience at this gem of a restaurant in downtown Calistoga. Had a few appetizers and shared the short rib with the carne pizza which tasted great we also had the jalapeño mezcal cocktail that had a great kick to it. Will definitely stop by again if we are in the area. The sausage rigatoni also looked great and so did the salmon risotto and the paella.
google avatar

Amrita G.

Yelp
Great food! Got the paella and the fig & prosciutto pizza. Asked the prosciutto to be baked along with the pizza as I like it a little crispy. They followed through. They were previously seating us in a table I did not like even though there were empty seats in both sections. The host stated they were strict on weekends for if no reservations were made. However, they were able to seat us at a butter table given that it was not all full. Food was great!
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating areas, but prices are quite high ($9 for a beer, for example), and service was extremely slow... Food is okay, but pricey. Also, ordered the salmon poke "crispy tacos" and they were quite miniscule. They should describe them as "three bite-sized tacos" on the menu.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite to cool off and try some of the local brew. We got carried away with so many delicious offerings in the quaint little gem in Calistoga. The answer is yes, yes to Parker Rolls, yes to Steak Tartar, yes to "The best Spicy Wings"... so crispy and flavorful. The fish and chips were also a favorite. Light and flaky, nothing left behind. Service with a smile, clean, bright, and fun dining.

Yelp
We had brunch at Calistoga Inn on a beautiful Saturday. My forked ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered the Calistoga scramble. The scramble with fresh and yummy. The potato that is served is a fast food style hash brown patty - didn't quite fit, but has sautéed peppers on top to seemingly class it up. My friend said the huevos rancheros was okay. The meal was served on a somewhat greasy, crispy flour tortilla rather than served with corn tortillas. The reason for the lower rating is the service. Our order was taken by a very nice waiter, whom we never heard from again. My toast wasn't brought to the table until after I was already finished eating. I had to get up and request water refills myself. I also had to get up to request the check. No one ever checked on us to see how our food was and we found that the service was very lacking for a restaurant of this caliber. Otherwise, it was a lovely setting and the staff we had to solicit for our needs were accommodating.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm usually disappointed with restaurants and the food not tasting as good as it does when I cook it myself. This place has great outdoor seating with heat lamps and fire pits and my dinner was excellent! I ordered the salmon risotta and they were quick on time given I had a spa appointment. I would definitely come back here aagain! The atmosphere was comfortable and service friendly. I came by myself and did not feel awkward at all.
google avatar

Yelp
It was ok. It wasn't too busy. The red haired boy wasn't to keen on seating us because there was a lack of communication. I think there was another host there, who was supposed to seat us. But his floor manager pushed him too. We could have waited a second, we were not in a rush. We said we were not going to drink, but were still given a drink menu. Drink pricing seems fair, the dishes themselves are a little high for what we got. Other than that, food were tasty. Both dishes were warm, but not hot. The female busser/ food runner was nice. Kudos to her. I liked that they had a fire pit there & the msic was good.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Great outside patio next to Napa river and great selection of drinks. I enjoy the option of a beer flight to try 4 beers for $10 and then choose your favorite for your next pint. It's a good idea since I doubt you ever heard any of them. The food is really good. I loved the short ribs entree (wish there were more mashed potatoes), the sauce was sublime. My wife's salmon was also good with the risotto. They do also have a good dessert menu. Wish the service was a little nicer. My waiter was attentive and quick, just not that friendly. When there was a bday, only one waiter and the table sang. I thought that was a little sad. Regardless, fantastic experience and I would highly recommend. Especially when there is live music.

Yelp
I subbed the conkie for mashed potatoes for the jerk chicken & oh my lord the chicken was so good! I like some spice on my food and the end of my bites had a good kick to it! :) Service is all well & a nice environment.

Yelp
I came for lunch recently post hike with some friends and had what felt like an epic fail all around for a dining experience. Server was friendly, but that was as good as it was overall. We ordered the spring risotto, a GF pizza and the nachos special. My friend had the risotto and didn't like it. We didn't complain because there was nothing with it that they did wrong, he simply wasn't a fan. We ordered a gluten free pizza and when it came I knew it wasn't gluten free. They were a little slow in coming around to check on us, since we were sharing I didn't push the issue for them to remake it since my friend could eat it. Finally the nachos, this was where it just threw it all over the edge for me. My friend didn't want the pico salsa on it so we asked for it on the side. When the "nachos" came they were served with nothing but the meat on the chips. The chef made an executive decision since we asked for the salsa on the side to serve the nachos with everything on the side. That's what the server told me when I asked why it was served like this. They did end up comping the nachos without us asking for anything, which was nice. I think the server took it to management realizing chef's executive decision was dumb. We ordered nachos not chips and dip. It was all pleasant enough, hence 3 stars, but if chef doesn't want to make adjustments then the menu should say they don't accommodate requests. This was my 2nd time here and again didn't feel wowed. Nice enough patio, variety menu with lots of choices, I wouldn't choose it to come back with so much else in the area but it's fine enough. It can certainly serve a crowd with the varied menu.

Yelp
Dear Calistoga Inn Management, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent dining experience at your restaurant. During my visit, I found plastic in my food.(mushrooms dish) When I alerted the server, she took the dish away without offering to cancel it or make a new one immediately. After waiting for all my main dishes to arrive, I requested a new dish from the same server. She assured me that the kitchen was preparing it and that it would be free from any foreign objects. However, when the bill arrived, I was surprised and disappointed to find that I was charged 50% for the dish that I returned and charged in full for the new dish that I requested, which was also served in a smaller size. This handling of the situation was unacceptable and left me quite unhappy with your restaurant's service, despite previously enjoying your food. I hope you will address this issue to prevent future occurrences and improve your customer service. I would appreciate a response regarding how you plan to rectify this matter. Sincerely, Pati

Yelp
I really like this place it looked very pretty. It was in the right spot. It was a beautiful weather, and we found an amazing place to sit as well. We were super tired, so we have not looked at our fish taco base, which was apparently an avocado so when we got our food we saw that there was an avocado and I told the server that I am allergic to avocados and I cannot eat that. I also apologize that I should have read the menu because they did mention that over there. It was just right on that moment the food came we didn't even start eating that, but it was so unfortunate and rude that the server just gave a fake smile on my face and said oh no do you want to order something else, but we can't take this back in way. She was indirectly telling me that I have to pay for the tacos that I got although I told her that I am allergic to it and I did not read it. She did not listen to me, but she kept smiling all the time to make sure that she staying cool I know how that goes, but this was a terrible experience. I ended up switching that with my wife, and I had a very little of whatever she ordered for herself, and we went to a different restaurant, we are not going to this place again if people don't have consideration for somebody else's allergies and not helping them re-order something else if the food has not been even touched this is not the way I think the hospitality business should be and these kind of people should be given a good feedback from the management.

Yelp
My husband & I made the 1 hour trek on hwy 128 yesterday evening so we could avoid the huge crowds on the weekend. We arrived around 5:15pm and planned on eating in the bar since they offer Happy Hour from 4-6pm Mon-Fri. Unfortunately it was incredibly cold inside both the bar & the restaurant since they had the AC cranked up way too high, which is probably why there were no customers eating inside. Luckily it was actually just a bit warmer on the outdoor patio since it was only 66 degrees outside. We chose to sit at a 4 seater table with a heater since the sun was already down, and it was breezy. Julie came by and took our drink & food orders. I went with the Riverfront West Coast IPA $9, and my husband got the Oat HIll Hazy $9 We also decided to share the side of Brussel Sprouts $11 which were ok. They seemed more steamed or boiled then most places that serve them crispy, but they were still good. I asked Julie if we could get an order of their complimentary bread/butter, and she said sure, but when it arrived at the table it was only 3 small slices of bread about the size of a bagette. We also shared an order of the Salmon Cakes $22 which was quite pricey considering each cake was about the size of the bottom of a wine glass. They tasted good, but I probably would skip them for that price. For main courses My husband enjoyed his Cheeseburger $24 with Avocado + $3 & it came with a small portion of fries which is rather expensive even these days. I decided to ask Julie if the side of Fall Risotto would be a decent size for dinner, and she said yes so I ordered it for $18 and was extremely happy I did. It was warm and filling with lots of Squash. I ended up asking Julie for more bread to go with my meal, and she brought us another 3 small slices and told us that was all they had left. Overall the food was delicious, and Julie did a good job checking on us from time to time, but the prices are quite high for what you get. I don't think we'll be making the long drive on twisty turny hwy 128 again anytime soon.

Yelp
What a beautiful place for a restaurant! There are some things they do very well. They have excellent cocktails, and excellent service. There is a nice ambiance that is sometime spoiled by flies and excessive sun. The menu is somewhat limited, but there are some good options. The concept of the dishes is good, but the execution is lacking. I ordered the $24 Tillamook cheddar cheese burger and I was asked how I would like it cooked. Of course I asked for medium rare. What did I receive? Not only was it cooked beyond medium rare, it was cooked beyond well done. This burger was hammered! I didn't have time for them to remake my meal so I just accepted it. How sad is that?! This restaurant needs a real wake up call. You can't just keep selling subpar food for such high prices. There will be a reckoning.

Yelp
Very pleasant atmosphere on the river on a summer night. Nice menu. Simple but well done and presented. Live music quiet and a great addition

Yelp
Fairly massive turkey + Brie sandwich and fries for 19.99. Easily shareable It being Napa valley this is pure value. Creek nearby is also value

Yelp
Walking in for lunch on a Sunday and there were plenty of outdoor seating available. They also have indoor seating which looks like a nice interior setup. Their service was on point and friendly. They have a wide selection of cocktails and wine list. I had their spicy Margarita which was delicious. We order a few appetizers and their mussels and clams. They were pretty good. Portion size on the salad is small. Otherwise food were good.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in on a calm Sunday afternoon. We ordered from the menu I took a picture of that was given to us by our waiter Victor F "I mention this because when we received our meal It came with premade frozen hash browns patty and we asked what happened to the potatoes the menu states ? He said they don't do that anymore and I must of seen that online! Nope this is on the menu you brought us !!! Management should change that to start with and get that it's regular potatoes off the menu as it's extremely misleading Very disappointed when you are expecting what's stated on the menu. We asked for orange juice when we ordered as well as salt, pepper and hot sauce since we know we like to add salt and pepper to eggs and to save him multiple trips we asked then. He showed up With our food and we asked again for the orange juice and other items.... We waited and waited nothing.... Finally go to the front to ask... A women comes to our table and is showing frustration with needing to finally bring us the oj etc. The orange juice was very tasty when it finally arrived mid way through our meal and of course as people that eat our eggs with salt and pepper it was nice to eat cold eggs that i should mention arrived to the table not as ordered. We ordered the hash to share and the Benedict to share. The sauce was good. Ham was little considering the price and the hash with shredded frozen potatoes was different but ok. Nobody came to fill water or even ask How everything is , if we needed anything etc... It wasn't super busy either. Having to go ask for things you already asked for by getting up from your table and never checked on as well as the attitude gave us a very bad taste for this place that we actually stayed at and enjoyed many year's previous.

Yelp
100% would recommend you visit Calistoga Inn! My family and I stumbled upon this gem on our way to Saint Helena. We were sitting near a fountain with a great view of the creek and live music. We tried the calamari which in my opinion was great, though I wish the portions were a bit bigger; We demolished that too quick. We then decided to order the gluten free basil pizza, the crust was crispy and delicious. My son and I shared the paella and a chicken sandwich; both amazing!! Service was very attentive and even the manager approached us to share a little about the restaurant's history. We took a little tour around the property and we fell in love of their beer garden. Definitely booking parties here in the future!!

Yelp
Holy moly what a beautiful setting for a restaurant. Came with family because we were staying close by. The food was really beautiful. Get the Parker house rolls and the salmon on summer veg risotto. Salmon can freak me out sometimes ("why do you order it then, Kate?," you may ask, to which I say... "idk"). But I figured hey I'm in Cali, let's try something different. It was really really beautifully cooked and delicious. No skin in the salmon which I like. The risotto a was even better especially with the crispy matchstick potatoes . Really nice chill service and if you go during golden hour you will be knocked out by the beauty of the outdoor space!

Yelp
WOW! 5 star cocktails, food, and bar area! We just wanted some drinks and food, but when we got to the bar area of this place I was immediately mesmerized by the organic cucumber cocktail! It sounded fresh, light and tasty- and boy was it ever! The soup of the day was potato leek soup- sooo much flavor! The beet salad was phenomenal too! My partner had the roasted chicken which was so tasty and came with this unique side of blended celery! Definitely coming here again for a cocktail and a bite! (The only bad thing I have to say was woman at the front was rudely staring at us as we were trying to figure out how to get to the bar. Luckily a guy swooped in and showed us the way - we might have left annoyed had he not stepped in.)

Yelp
This is a great spot to grab lunch or a cocktail before you're heading to dinner elsewhere. The menu is relatively simple - just classics that you'd expect at a bar and grill. The outdoor space is nice if it's not too hot and the bar is a great place to sit outside and have a cocktail. They definitely want to be hip and trendy and while nothing is ever bad it does sometimes feel like they are trying too hard and the pricing is a bit high for what you get. Sometimes the service really struggles, particularly in the bar area. My biggest complaint, given the establishment and what they charge they should be on top of the cleanliness in the restrooms. I don't think I have ever been here and not found the restrooms to be in disarray which is a really easy thing for management to get on top of.

Yelp
Made a reservation here for Sunday afternoon but it wasn't that busy and probably would've gotten a table easily without one. We ordered the calamari, french toast, and the carne pizza. The French toast was really wet, like they dipped in the batter for too long. The calamari was pretty good and very crispy. The carne pizza was not bad but it wasn't anything special. It was not worth $22 in my opinion. There were a lot of flies and bees coming to our table once food came out. We asked to be moved to indoor seating but the server brought out a little windmill fan to help divert them, which did help. Service was pretty good. They were very friendly, refilled our waters, and came to check on us to see if the flies were still an issue.

Yelp
Our last night in Calistoga found us going to the Calistoga Inn for dinner. The night was cool and comfortable as we enjoyed cocktails, prosciutto pizza, and fungi pizzas. We enjoyed eating the gluten-free pizza surrounded by gorgeous overhanging trees and a river running alongside us. The outdoor patio was perfect for the occasion as we enjoyed our dinner. There was a lot more than they offered on the menu, but we weren't as hungry as we originally thought. It would be good to return for a second meal if we make our way back to Calistoga. The ambiance between the fountain, outdoor lighting, and trees make for a lovely dating experience.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. We had dinner here our first night in town and it was so good we decided to come back the 2nd night as well. We had the cheeseburger, short ribs, and the sausage rigatoni - all were outstanding. A good selection of non-alcoholic beverage options for non-drinkers. The service was lovely as well - very helpful and the food was prompt. We loved being able to sit outside - just overall a great experience.

Yelp
Met up in Calistoga for Brunch and wine tasting on one of the hottest days of the year. My daughter made reservations weeks in advance at Calistoga Inn. The layout of the restaurant is that the bar is half indoor and half facing outdoors. Nice if the the weather is nice. On one of the hottest days the indoor dining room was hot. We all ordered entrees and shared some appetizers. Charcuterie plate 3 stars Dungeness Crab cakes 5 stars Prosciutto Fig Pizza 4 stars Salmon 3 stars Rueben 3 stars Steak Tartare 5 stars Burrata and Heirloom Tomato 3 stars Service was lacking. It appeared they were short staffed with the only two servers handling the indoor and outdoor tables together.

Yelp
Went here on a recommendation. Great food and ambiance. The place was packed but service was still good. Variety of options for every palate.

Yelp
Best salad I've ever had! They call it their chopped salad, and it was just full of yummyness! Melissa was an absolute doll and took care of a group of old people like a pro! So sweet and attentive and hospitable! Thank you so much Melissa for a nice afternoon despite the horrible 95° weather! Next time we got to sit inside. The fish and chips looked amazing but I didn't get a bite Strawberry shortcake also looked amazing and I decided not to have a bite of that one! Their outside seating was so nice I'd love to come back on the weather is not so hot. But, it was still crowded! Tourists that live back east love our California sun. I hope to come back before another year is up, and I hope Melissa is still working there!

Yelp
Everything was average or below here. Not food nor service was average here. The service was disorganized, especially given a not-that-busy time and having made reservations. We were seated by one person who seemed to not know where to seat us (e.g. whose section was next to be seated). It took a while just to get water (from a different person). Finally, we had a server and ordered (yet another person). Food was delivered in an appropriate amount of time and by someone else again. We wanted hot sauce, but our order-taker was nowhere around. We finally caught the eye of what seemed to be a manager...finally some hot sauce. In the case of my dish, which was hash, the price-to-portion ratio was very very off. We're talking about diced-up potatoes, leftover meat from last night, two eggs, and some seasoning, and cooking. It should have been a big plate of food for the price. It was really tasty, but I was finished in minutes and then helped my wife with her plate. If it wasn't for that, I would have walked away still wanting more food.

Yelp
Ambience is a 10. Food is bland, and overcooked, was not good at all. I ordered the paella, the rice was mushy, the chorizo was overcooked and had the texture of beef jerky. My husband steak was bland, so these people even use seasoning? Glad I bought snacks at the local market for later.
