"Last week, Yakitori Kona joined Mai Kitchen in Virginia-Highland, taking over the space previously home to Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit on the corner of Virginia and North Highland. Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit closed in 2022 after nearly seven years amid rising rents and operating costs." - Beth McKibben

"The Atlanta location of Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit closed Tuesday, May 31, after nearly seven years on Virginia Avenue in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. Owner Carrie Morey, who first founded the biscuit business in 2005 in Charleston, South Carolina, tells the Atlanta Business Chronicle the lease was set to expire in July and with rising rents in the city and operating costs up by 30 percent, she decided to shut down the Atlanta restaurant. Morey says that while the Virginia-Highland location was popular on weekends and did see a big boost in weekday sales during the height of the pandemic when many neighborhood residents were working from home, business has slowed in recent months as people begin returning to offices. 'The decision to close our doors was not an easy one, but it reflects the current times. Like most small restaurant businesses, we’ve struggled over the past few years, and we are making the decision to focus on Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit closer to home in Charleston,' Morey says in a statement posted to Instagram. Both Charleston locations remain open and Morey continues to sell her popular 'piping hot' biscuits online through the company’s website and via delivery services such as GoPuff. Batches of Callies’s biscuits are also available retail at area Whole Foods and Publix and local shops like Front Porch Market in Vinings. No word yet as to what might replace Callie’s at the corner of Virginia and North Highland." - Beth McKibben

"This biscuit shop started in Charleston, but over the past few years, it’s become one the best brunch spots in Virginia Highlands. They have seven different types of biscuits, each of which you can turn into a sandwich or cover in gravy. Seating is limited, but the biscuits hold up well if you’re getting them to go. Just make sure to get an extra for yourself." - Sarah Bailey

I was on the search for the best biscuits in Atlanta. Website looked good so I drove 20 minutes to give it a try... I should have just went to Chick-fil-A. My biscuits were burnt and and harder than a biscuits has the right to be. Just look at the pictures. Does this look appealing? If I lived closer I would have brought it back. I love food and don't give many bad reviews but I suggest trying another place.

A beautiful locally owned shop that sells some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. I got the Sausage Egg & Pimento Cheese and it was such a perfectly put together sandwich. The fire pimento cheese has great flavor and perfectly balanced the egg and sausage. There are also a variety of other sandwiches available, including: BLT, bacon egg & cheese, biscuit and gravy. It is located in a very neighborhood area of Atlanta, plenty of outdoor seating makes this a great place to hangout and chill. Would highly recommend!

The place is small and cute inside. My husband was impressed with the place. When we told the employee that its our first time. He explained all the biscuits to us. We ended up getting their special ones like the cinnamon sticky and confetti biscuit. We also got two breakfast biscuits. To my husband, it was more like a snack. I'm sad that they don't have the confetti biscuit anymore but it was a September thing. I'm glad that I was able to try it before it went away. I took half a slice of it with one of the cinnamon sticky to work with me. I work at a bakery so my coworkers were telling me that I should be ashamed of myself for being another’s pastries inside the building until I told them it was a biscuit. I am sad that this place is over 20 minutes from my house but 4 minutes from my job. The time I have to go in is the time they close and I never have a chance to stop by due before work to being a mother.

I had the sausage egg and pimento cheese biscuit sandwich, it was very yummy! My only gripe is that it was just kind of lukewarm... I wish it had been hotter. 2 bites in and it felt like it was already room temperature. Half of the pimento cheese was also just sitting in the box rather than actually put on the biscuit. Other than that, the taste was great. I also enjoyed the mint tea. I was initially going to get the 3 for $6 biscuits, but when they say "little" biscuit... they REALLY mean LITTLE. LoL Like, literally bite sized. That was why I opted for a biscuit sandwich instead, since they're larger. Also, the menu prices here on Google are incorrect. The sandwich I ordered was $1 more than was it reflects here. Definitely a bit pricey compared to other places. However, the staff was absolutely wonderful! Destiny was great. I really enjoyed the vibe here and the energy of all the staff.

Good biscuit and fried chicken. The fried chicken is only available on certain days from what I heard (I saw another post that said Friday and Sunday, which are the two days I’ve visited Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit). The staff is friendly, the food comes quick, and there are free stickers. The place is small but there was enough space for me and my cousin to sit. This spot is good for a repeat visit.

I was told to try this again for the best biscuits in town because they seemed to be having an off day. Today the biscuits were very underdone and not better than I can make at home. It was a cute place with amazing and friendly staff and I will try again later this month and update my review.

It seems like I have been hearing about Callie Little Biscuits forever now and after all that hype I have never been more disappointed in a biscuit. So after paying for two overpriced gluten-free biscuits and $7 delivery fee and waiting over an hour for the delivery. To start my order was not correct. The menu has shredded cheddar and cheddar cheese as an option and you can see on my receipt I selected cheddar cheese and not shredded cheddar. I received shredded cheddar and there's over a dollar price difference in those options. The biscuit was undercooked, chewy, and not fresh. I also just a plain old gluten-free biscuit and it was not mixed properly as all i got was bites of flour it was overcooked, chewy, and had been cut in half a long time ago that the center had dried out. The butter was the only thing that made it easy to eat and that even required reheating. Over $30 in total on terrible terrible biscuits.

Love love everything about this cool little cafe for breakfast. I don’t know how they do it, but these are some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had... handmade, southern style and delicious. Try the sausage, egg and cheese... Awesome. Counter service in a quaint little space right in heart of Virginia Highland. The offer a variety of biscuits and breakfast sandwiches. You can also build your own biscuit with list of of tasty items like flavored whipped butter and homemade jam. They also offer French-press coffee, which is always a bonus.
