"This welcoming and window-lined restaurant straddles a prominent corner in downtown Menlo Park. Inside, the space flaunts a flood of natural light; a buzzing vibe, and contemporary subtleties go a long way towards disproving the area's sleepy town moniker.Californian cooking is the mission of the kitchen, with dishes delivering layers of flavor and creativity. Speaking of, begin with fresh-baked Boules (available on Fri and Sat), before embarking on a creamy Russet potato soup with green garlic "pesto" and parmesan. Mezze rigatoni arrive tossed with a ten-hour, Modenese-style pork ragù; and buttermilk fried chicken with sides like coleslaw is a sight for sore NY eyes. Caramelized milk jam pudding with candied pecans makes a crowning deal—and meal—closer." - Michelin Inspector

The 15 Best Restaurants in Menlo Park - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Camper feels like the kind of restaurant every suburban downtown wishes it had: low-key enough that you can roll in on a random Tuesday and snag a seat, but also full of newness since the menu changes frequently. The housemade pastas, like lemony English pea agnolotti and rich, savory pork ragu, are the move here. And if it’s on the menu, we like the perfectly seared flat iron steak for an entree. It’s perfect for nights when you want a memorable meal out but don’t want to deal with city traffic." - gabi moskowitz

The service and the atmosphere were really good. The food unfortunately wasn’t. The burger was just okay, nothing special while you expect something for the price at such a place. The meat doneness level was not consistent across two burgers we ordered. The chips were just incredibly salty. My mouth was dry for the rest of the day and I almost felt like I had it burnt. The chips were salted fine in other places I’ve been to in California so it’s definitely not just my palate. The garlicky mayo sauce was good, the tomato sauce was not to my taste. I don’t want to be back overall

For something different and a great evening, Check out Camper. The food was unusual but delicious, well prepared and presented. The service from 3 people we interacted with was friendly but not overbearing. We are definitely coming back to try some more of their options. The outdoor seating was really pleasant.

Google
The food was so good here! We got the oysters (wow - some of the best I’ve had), the squid salad which was perfect and the potato crusted halibut. The staff was so friendly and attentive too. We were seated in the back room which wasn’t the best - try to get a seat in the main room where the ambiance is much better. Dessert (milk jam pudding) was just ok. I’m excited to go back in a few months!

Went on a brunch date with the bestie to celebrate our birthdays and Mother’s Day. Our server was so kind, generous, and empathetic. We had the eggs Benedict (incredible!), the french toast, and the early riser with coffee and an apple cinnamon roll on the side (not pictured bc we ate it too fast!). While it was pricier than our usual hang, it was definitely worth it! I will definitely be going again!

Google
I am blown away. The crab spaghetti was very pleasant, with a light tomato sauce, fried garlic, and squash. It was perfection. The flavors of the corn agnolotti transcended anything my taste buds have ever experienced, and the textures were unparalleled. Milk jam pudding was also divine!!!

To all the real ones who know--Camper's brunch is BACK, and I couldn't be happier! This downtown Menlo Park staple is serving up more chances to enjoy their incredible food, and trust me, it's worth it. There isn't a lot of brunch photos for camper online so allow me to feed your eyes with the me documenting our satisfying brunch. Came hungry and majorly craving carbs, so my girl friend and I went all in--Logan's Orange + Currant Scones for her, Challah French toast for me. Her scones? Warm. Flaky--paired with fresh butter that gave such a buttery finish to every bite. She wasn't super hungry, so the "on the side" menu was perfect. Love that they offer that option. Me on the other hand? I was ravenous. LET ME TELL YOU--the Challah French toast was life-changing. A thick, buttery slab of challah, cooked perfectly, ridiculously satisfying to cut and bite into, and topped with macadamia nut butter that added just the right nuttiness and umami. I can't even describe in words how good it was, no words would do it justice, you'd have to try it for yourself. Shoutout to our server and the kitchen for the amazing service and accommodating my request to swap the apples for strawberries. I'm 100% sure those apples would've been amazing, but sadly, my gut does not agree. Thought I'd still be starving, but that French toast was actually the perfect level of satisfying. Took my chicken apple sausages for family to enjoy; I'm already dreaming of my next French toast bite. Service? A+. Ambiance? Perfect for a girly brunch. Plus, downtown Menlo Park has easy parking (a rare win for downtowns) and is just 8 minutes from Palo Alto Shopping Center if you want to make a day of it. TL;DR: Brunch at Camper is back! Please make a reservation on OpenTable and enjoy a nice brunch solo or with someone. Get the French toast. Thank me later.

Google
Food and service were excellent at this global inspired fresh gourmet spot in Menlo Park. Met Chef Marcus while he served his creations at a Secret Sea Cove dinner by Outstanding in the Field and decided to visit his local spot. The menu is a curated selection of traditional European and Asian dishes constructed with fresh local produce and served with a twist that exhibits the chef's personality. Who can ever say no to fresh handmade pasta, coastal seafood, and produce from local farms? I highly encourage you to sample their various dishes if you are in the area.

Google
I expected much better food for the price. We got two pasta dishes and the salmon, and they were all very bland. The pasta dishes in particular were really nothing special. Poor value for the money, so we would not return, despite good service and atmosphere. Maybe brunch is better.

Yelp
Came here on a Sat morning last month and I round up rating to 4/5 2.5/5 Food - not sure if it's worth the money since the portion is very small and the flavor is nothing special 4/5 Services - decent services 5/5 Ambience - small tables and cozy setting. Inside for outside seating both nice 5/5 Bathroom - first time I saw such a clean barroom 3/5 Parking - street parking

Yelp
The camper vibe wasn't overly overt. Nice olive green paint and browns, with some paddles and signs. We came for Sunday brunch. Are we ready for $25 American Waygu cheeseburgers and fries? Fries were hot, then cooled down quickly. The burger was delicious and fresh with pickled red onions, and a secret sauce. Their famous camper fried chicken was so good too! Super fresh fried! It came with coleslaw and a dilly ranch sauce. I've been having shakshuka everywhere. This one's green, verde shakshuka. The poached eggs seemed smaller than most places but the whole dish is good. It had a verde, tomatillo sauce and peas. The bread that came with the dish was toasted. Food was fresh. Servers seemed to do rounds in the dining area. It was the setup of the dining area/tables, they walked in circles and sometimes went back the direction they came. There was outdoor seating and they gave us a choice. We heard some loud talkers outside so decided on the indoor seating. It's a nice clean place. I prefer fresh squeezed orange juice on the premise which they did not have :(. I always ask. It surprises me when some places do and some don't. I prefer the places that do. They have chamomile honey butter, house made jam, that sounds interesting so we may come back.

Yelp
We had reservations for a little birthday dinner. There was a good amount of seating available at 6 pm. Camper is located in downtown Menlo Park so there is plenty of parking around. The interior looked modern. Cast-Iron Buttermilk Cornbread (4.5/5): The cornbread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It came with a green chile-honey butter which was so creamy. I thought it would come out in a cast iron though. Grilled Local Squid Salad (4/5): The grilled squid was so good! Nice and tender. The salad also had cashews, calabrian chili, avocado, celery, mustard greens. There was a nice kick of spice. Creamy Dungeness Crab Spaghetti (3/5): The spaghetti was good but the dish overall was salty. It had lemon, tarragon, chervil, and parsley. The portion of Dungeness crab was good. Marinated Creekstone Flat Iron Steak (5/5): The steak and potatoes were SO GOOD. It was a good medium rare and so tender. The potatoes were crispy, hearty and full of flavor. The radicchio added a nice earthy touch. The black garlic sauce was light. The portion was pretty good! I would order this dish again. I enjoyed my time here. I got a strawberry Pimm's cocktail and that was good too. A bit pricey though. The staff were super nice and also helped us cut a cake we brought in. I don't believe they charged a cutting fee like most places do. This is a great spot for a nice dinner. They also do brunch so maybe I'll have to check it out one day.

Yelp
The food tasted great! I do wish the portions were a bit bigger, and this is the first time I'm saying this as I'm 96lbs. The prices is what to expect in the area, the crab pasta was $37. I got a couple of shells in my pasta but it was definitely delicious

Yelp
Spontaneous plans are the best!! Mr. and I were not too hungry so just wanted to have few appetizers. Chickpea pannise 5/5 We have had this before but not as delicious it was soft and gooey along with the mild flavour of the dips was just the perfect combination. Cornbread 3/5 I'm not a cornbread lover, I find them dry. Would have wanted a fruity jam along with it. However Mr. liked these. But since I'm writing the review so it's a 3! We're impressed by the service and the food so we want ahead with the server's recommendation. The milk pudding wasn't at all that we expected. Solid 5/5. And the portion size was quite generous. Great ambience and quick service!!

Yelp
The food was excellent! Everything about the cornbread was true. It's fluffy, flavorful and with the butter on top, *chefs kiss.* We also enjoyed the squid salad which was a nice healthy, refreshing item to enjoy with the rigatoni pork ragu and Dungeness crab spaghetti. The one downside was service. It was very slow to get menus, to order and to get the check and pay for the check. I think it was 10min in between giving the credit card to receiving it back. There was also a very loud guest that was annoying our table and the table next to us. The restaurant opened a door to try and reduce noice, but that didn't help much. Maybe sitting outside would've been the better option to pick, so my family and I could hear each other. Besides the slow service and loud guest, the food was absolutely delicious! I'll be back and hopefully a better service experience next time.

Yelp
Camper in Menlo Park has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and overall we had a lovely brunch experience. The shakshuka was flavorful and comforting, but it only came with two eggs, which felt a bit skimpy for the price--three would've made it a much better value. We also ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately, that was the only letdown. At $14 for a small bowl, it felt like a serious ripoff--especially since they were overly salty. The wagyu burger comes with more fries than the bowl; I might as well have ordered another burger combo. The French toast tasted great and had a very generous portion ! Also the wagyu burger was a knockout--juicy, flavorful, and worth the price. Definitely the star of the table. We also appreciated that they gave our toddler some crayons to draw with--a thoughtful touch that made the meal more enjoyable for all of us. Shoutout to Garrett, who gave us outstanding, attentive service, and to the entire staff, who were all very friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
Camper has been on my list for a while, and I have no idea what took me so long to go! I'm so happy I finally did-- it's GREAT!!! Stopped by for dinner with friends last night and everything we had was amazing. The cornbread and sourdough starters are both delicious, but I could probably go without the burrata next time. It was pretty mediocre, but luckily everything else was so good I didn't really care that much. For mains we got the steak, the rigatoni, and the agnolotti. All were wonderful, but the agnolotti was definitely the crowd favorite. For drinks-- the winter Pimm's was outstanding! I didn't even want to try anything else because it was so good and I just wanted another one:) Overall a great spot-- can't wait to come back soon!

Yelp
Camper is our favorite restaurant! I just hosted a bridal brunch in their private back room and it was a wonderful day! Logan was so nice to work with on the planning and chef Marcus outdid himself with the food. Everyone raved about the biscuits with honey butter and jam, delicious fruit salad, the green salad and the choice of entrees. Service was also impeccable and attentive. I can't recommend Camper enough, whether it's for dinner out, weekend brunch or hosting a private event! It is THE BEST!

Yelp
Situated in downtown Menlo Park, when you walk in the reception is right by the door but the amount of space is impressive as there are plenty of seating at the bar and a mix of high tops and booths. We were warmly greeted and seated in the back room by the water and plate station which was a little disruptive as the servers were arguing at times right next to us. The service was a little delayed but we did enjoy our choices: Cornbread - Warm, moist and very savory with the addition of a generous portion of garlic butter. Halibut- Tender, well seasoned crusted portion and accompanied with cauliflower & pine nuts was nice pairing. Could not identify any golden raisins as advertised. Grilled Prawns- generous number of prawns with head and tail included which I enjoy since they were prepared to a tender style that the whole prawn could be consumed. The cioppino emulsion was subtle and could have used more but otherwise a good dish. As mentioned service was slightly chaotic as the cornbread was brought out 15 minutes after we ordered but it was another 45 minutes before our entrees were served but still an enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Camper has completely reimagined the classics--and every bite is a reminder of how exciting and fresh brunch should be. The Smoked Trout Salad was a surprise standout. One bite in, and I felt compelled to take another bite, and another bite... It is a creative play on potato salad with layers of new textures and flavors--bright, savory, and addictive! The Breakfast Steam Buns were another clever twist--fluffy bao filled with savory sausage and egg, with pickled cucumber and mint cutting through beautifully. Balanced, bold, memorable and delicious! The Buttermilk Pancake Double-Stack was cloud-like yet chewy at the same time. Paired with chamomile honey butter, it added just enough floral sweetness. The Shakshuka Verde was fresh and herbaceous, with the tomatillo and green garlic bringing brightness to the warm, comforting base. This is a cold day comfort meal order. And then--the Roasted Apple-Cinnamon Roll. Imagine apple pie and a cinnamon roll had a perfect child. One bite and I was completely blown away. Every dish felt thoughtful and new. Chef Marcus has brought real creativity to the brunch table, and I cannot wait to come back next weekend, and bring all my friends!

Yelp
Brunch at Camper is splendid! I highly recommend the campfire milkpunch, if you like a strong but satisfying brunch cocktail. Additionally Camper has the most crazy amazing pancakes, like little lemon clouds of deliciousness melting In your mouth! You gotta try 'em!

Yelp
My favorite restaurant I've been to so far in Menlo Park. Located downtown on the corner, the inviting atmosphere just pulls you right in. The service: Our server was excellent and recommended us so many good things throughout the night while also being super friendly. Also, when we got there we asked someone how long they had been open because we both have never really heard of this place. The woman we asked said since 2017, and asked if it was our first time. We told her yes, and she welcomed us with a complimentary appetizer for our table which I thought was so sweet. The food: Food was incredible. Menu is a mix of Italian, American, and fish so there's definitely tons of options to choose from. Overall, my favorite was the smores dessert and branzino. Would HIGHLY recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Camper in Menlo Park, CA, got to be the place for our work/team dinner, and it was an experience to remember. Despite making a last-minute reservation for their private dining room (requiring a contract to secure), the team at Camper went above and beyond to accommodate us. With a group that included many vegetarians, they made thoughtful modifications to their prix fixe menu, and we truly appreciated their flexibility. A big shoutout to Jairo, our fantastic host, and to the entire team for delivering a seamless and enjoyable evening. Camper's commitment to their farm-to-fork mission is evident in the quality of the ingredients, which shine through in every dish. Here's a closer look at what we enjoyed: Starters Salad of Tender Lettuces: This fresh and vibrant dish combined crisp radishes, sweet apple slices, crunchy sunflower seeds, and perfectly toasted croutons, all tossed in a tangy Banyul's vinaigrette. A simple yet beautifully executed dish that refreshed our palates and set the tone for the meal. Chickpea Panisse: The star of the evening for many. This dish featured crispy chickpea cakes paired with twice-cooked carrots, a bold and herbaceous zhoug, mustard greens, and a creamy cashew mole sauce. The flavors were beautifully balanced, making it a standout dish that highlighted Camper's creativity and finesse. Main Courses Kimchi Fried Calrose Rice: A delight for vegetarians, this dish brought together perfectly cooked rice with earthy trumpet mushrooms and a topping of citrusy yuzu furikake. Every bite was bursting with flavor, making it a memorable part of the meal. Santa Maria-Style Marinated Tri-Tip Steak: The tri-tip steak was a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, it was served with savory lobster mushrooms, peppery watercress and creamy cranberry beans, offering a satisfying and hearty option for the meat lovers at the table. Dessert We ended the evening on a high note with Camper S'mores--a nostalgic yet elevated dessert that combined familiar flavors with sophisticated presentation. It was indulgent, fun, and the perfect sweet finish to our meal. Parking and Accessibility Parking wasn't too difficult to find as there's a lot close to the restaurant. However, the tree branches in front of the property obscure the restaurant's name from plain sight--a minor inconvenience for an otherwise fantastic experience. The private dining experience at Camper was exceptional. The thoughtfully crafted dishes, fresh ingredients, and stellar service made for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're hosting a team dinner or looking for an impressive dining spot, Camper delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Yelp
BRUNCH REVIEW: I came here for brunch on a Saturday with a couple of girlfriends. First impression is upscale but rustic and not fussy. The staff was attentive and friendly. Their brunch menu is small, which I appreciated, and it had a little of all your favorite brunchy items. Overall the food was very good, and they didn't shoo us away when we continued chatting way passed their brunch service. What we ordered: + Logan's orange + currant scones - buttery, scrupulous, with a hint of orange. So good. + Spanish chopped salad - chopped lettuces mixed with cheese and olives with chunks of pesto chicken made for a very refreshing bite. Dressing was fresh and light. + Famous camper fried chicken - finger lickin' good. These are more like chicken nuggets. They were seasoned well, crunchy outside, with moist, tender chicken inside. It kinda reminded me of chicken karaage. The dill ranch dressing was the perfect compliment. + Build your own Avo toast - I'm a sucker for avocado toast, but this was a bit of a disappointment. It's deconstructed, which I don't mind, but the sourdough toast was overly toasted, hard, and dry. Also, it's supposed to be a sliced into thirds, but somehow we got 3 very uneven edge pieces of toast (see pic). It looked nothing like the scrupulous pic I saw on Yelp with ribbons with fresh radish and microgreens. Ours came with pickled veggies. However, the avocado/pistachio mash was delicious, as was the red pepper sauce. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Camper and look forward to coming again for dinner.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot with a cozy, rustic camper vibe and top-notch food, this place is a must-visit. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a laid-back charm that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden gem. The food? Absolutely fantastic. Every dish was well-executed, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented--all at a very reasonable price. What stood out this evening was the amberjack crudo; the flavors of the agua chili paired with sweet ripe kiwis -- made for an exceptional and memorable dish. The cocktails were equally impressive, crafted with creativity and precision -- making them a highlight of the experience. Service was friendly, though a bit stretched. Our waitress was handling a large section, so we didn't see much of her except the beginning and end, and unfortunately, our crudo was forgotten until we asked about it. However, she was kind and accommodating when we did interact. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and drinks more than made up for the minor service hiccup. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Camper is amazing! Such a cool vibe with incredible food. The dishes are comforting and delicious. And the staff is always so kind and accommodating. One of my favorite spots in Menlo Park!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing experience at Camper! We came for dinner on Saturday and really liked the inspired outdoor aesthetic, with blankets and warm wood tones. The layout is well thought out, with a large patio to the left, the bar on the right, and the main dining area extending toward a banquet room in the back. There were two of us, and we tried several cocktails because their specialty drink menu was so interesting. The best drink by far was the Jardin D'Hiver--Thai citrus-infused tequila, St. Germain, and (I think) Aperol. It was so good, easily the best drink we've had in a long time. We also tried the bartender's special, Straw Man, which was fine but didn't stand out enough to be a featured drink. The Peas Maker was fresh and herbal, and the Basilisk (vodka with matcha) had a nice color but wasn't for us--the matcha didn't add much. We should have gone for the spicy margarita, which looked great, as did most of the drinks. Loved how creative their flavors were. With dessert, we had the mezcal espresso martini (Midnight Raider), which was good. For food, we started with the Kanpachi Crudo, which was beautifully plated with apple and celery. The celery flavor stood out the most, and while it was very good, it needed a bit more salt. The warm sourdough bread was amazing, but we didn't care for the hummus it came with--it was supposed to have garlic but tasted bland to us (we're salt and butter lovers, though). Even the bread presentation was great, served as a mini loaf on a nice board. The twice-cooked carrots left us torn--it tasted good, but the dish was mostly chickpeas with just two small carrots on top. We had expected more of a veggie-forward dish. The English pea agnolotti, however, was everything--I'm obsessed. We seriously considered ordering it again but opted for dessert instead. Dessert was the only slight letdown. The menu had four options--pudding, a play on s'mores, a tart, and sorbets (some of which were already out at 5 PM on a Saturday). We chose the tart, which came in a skillet with a nice crust. Lattes were excellent, and I loved the glassware and mugs. The whole aesthetic of the restaurant is really well done. Service was great--our server was friendly, as was the server assistant and the hosts. Everyone made us feel welcome and taken care of.

Yelp
I've heard of Camper from numerous friends and was so happy when one of my good friends suggested we go there for my birthday dinner. It definitely exceeded my expectations - the food was delicious, the drinks on par and the ambiance was lovely. I gave it 4 stars. Sadly it fell short one star on the service. It took FOREVER to get our drinks, and the server even completely forgot my friends drink. So I was sitting there waiting patiently for her drink for a long time. It finally did come and he apologized but still, that left an impression. The food: For an appetizer we got a burrata dish and the chick pea croquettes. The Burrata was tasty with fresh veggies. The croquettes were OK. A little too small for my taste. Now the star of the night was the bucatini. I read the reviews raving this dish and my, were they RIGHT! The sauce was to die for, the noodles fresh and paired so nicely together. The duck pasta was also very tasty and filling. I would 100% recommend those dishes. For dessert we got the panacotta which was really good! I loved how it came out as a big portion and can be shared with two people. The ambiance is really pretty. There's plenty of outdoor tables, where you can quietly sit and talk and it's tucked away from the bustle and bustle of the Main Street. Overall I totally recommend coming here just for the delicious food, especially the main dishes! I would just be prepared to have the service be not that great. But it's totally still worth the trip.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and was pretty underwhelmed. The menu was limited, and it seemed like they had run out of several dishes. Service was friendly, but the food took a really long time to come out, and came out in batches for our group. Not sure I'd return -- at least not for brunch.

Yelp
Really lovely restaurant with great food and cocktails and good service. Our favorite dishes were the corn agnolotti (best pasta dish I've had in a LONG time) and the milk jam pudding.

Yelp
Truly an amazing dinner at Camper. We were looking for a cozy, family friendly spot with incredible food and Camper hit the nail on the head. The cornbread was good, but paired with the compound butter, it was great! We tried the wagyu cheeseburger and the sweet corn agnolotti. The cheeseburgers were of course delicious, cooked perfectly and paired with shoestring fries. But the sweet corn agnolotti changed my life. I'll honestly be looking for a reason to be in Menlo Park just so we can stop back by Camper for this pasta dish. We had our one year old with us and the staff were so sweet and accommodating. Overall just a really great experience!

Yelp
Good food and drink, portions not as great on value but it's to be expected as it's Menlo Park. Bartender Alexis was lovely! Been here before for a work larger group dinner outside in the summer which was a great experience as well.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to our visit here as we only eat halal meat and they had Creekstone farms beef in one of their offerings but the food was very salty and the service was almost nonexistent. While I don't mind paying well for good food, I felt that it was quite overpriced for what we were served.

Yelp
Food was enjoyable, cauliflower was a standout dish for me along with the the squid ink pasta. Service was great Alejandra really helped us out on what to order and for that 5 stars! So many times a wait or will tell you things that are okay or just the most popular, but brutal honesty on what to order is what separates a good form a a great dining experience along with other factors. Ambiance is nice and on point for the price point and location of the eatery.

Yelp
I've been here in the past, including corporate events, and it's a great little spot. The overall environment is fantastic, and the contemporary look complements the overall decor, service, and food (including presentation) quite well. My wife and I have had a variety of dishes there, and they were all quite good. Everything felt reasonably high quality and fresh (which one would hope given their price point). Unless you get a private room, I don't think it's great to go with a huge group. It's worth a try if you haven't been here before so you can judge for yourself.

Yelp
Came to check out this cute little spot in downtown Menlo Park. I like the ambiance, we sat outside on the patio with heaters. I didn't know what to expect coming here, as we were just walking around and picked out this spot. The burrata with prosciutto app and ricotta with sourdough bread were delicious. We love some good cheeses! I also had the rigatoni and it tasted pretty good but it was a little dry for me, I needed more sauce/ragu. The parm on top was a little dry as well but meat sauce did taste good. My friend got the wagyu burger, which he said was pretty good and it was giant! We thought it would've been on the smaller size but did not disappoint a hungry fella. Overall, service was good, very nice and attentive. If you live in the area, looks like a cute little date spot to check out.

Yelp
This place is like your mama won master chef. SO cozy, so classy. The food was impeccable.. we had a last minute reservation for 4 and got a wonderfully intimate table inside to celebrate my wedding weekend. We each ordered a dish with an intention to share and all 4 of us were absolutely in love with our choices. The range of dynamic flavors and clearly fresh ingredients made for such an elevated experience, while also feeling like the most comforting home cooked meal. The beans in the prawns!! The dynamic and vegetarian entree worthy carrots!! The divine halibut with sunchokes!! The chili butter on the cornbread!! Phenomenal. Oysters with kumquats?? Muah. This is the kind of place that enhances the best qualities in food and makes you want to tell everyone. The service was so attentive and perfectly timed and made us feel so celebrated. Can't recommend enough.

Yelp
Delicious food but maybe not worth the price. Our appetizers came super fast but the main course took a long time and we ordered the seared halibut which isn't a dish that should take a long time. The fried flowered cauliflower was amazing, great acidity in the sauce. The kanpachi was also incredibly delicious, again amazing because of a wonderfully acidic sauce. The halibut was cooked perfectly, the peas were so fresh and felt like popping boba, and the sauce was acidic again. I'm a huge fan of the acidic sauces and did not get tired of it, but that's something to be wary of if you're not a fan.

Yelp
Camper is a cozy spot! The interiors are super warm and had comfortable seating. Our service was friendly and professional. All of our food came out super fast. The food itself was very high quality and fresh. We had a great meal! But it was lacking some flavor in our opinions. For example the butter that comes with the cornbread was suppose to be a green chile honey butter but it didn't taste super strongly of either flavor. The special sauce on the burger was not noticeable. The fries were super plain. The ketchup was more of a barbecue sauce and if you like that you would love this but I'm more into ketchup. The best thing was the chicken! So flavorful! Something to note is the high prices. For the portion size I think it is a little overpriced. For example the pickled vegetables we got was $8 for such a small portion(photo included) I wish they had better pricing for those smaller items. I am ok paying a lot for an entree and high quality ingredients but we were truly shocked when that small cup of vegetables came out for $8 I want to come back and try the pasta as they look amazing! I would love to come back here and recommend the experience.

Yelp
We came here on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was quite busy for a weeknight. They have a large outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. The food we ordered was fine though we felt the taste and quality didn't match the price even compared to other places in the area. However, our largest concern was the pace of service. We had a very difficult time getting ahold of our server throughout the meal and waited over 15 minutes trying to get their attention to pay our bill.

Yelp
So glad I finally tried Camper. With so many restaurant choices in Menlo Park, it can be hard to decide which to try, but this one is not to be missed if you're looking for delicious casual, yet refined fare. My husband and I stopped in for Sunday lunch and shared the avocado toast and the fried chicken, both very delicious. The avocado toast consisted of two thick slices of toasted sourdough bread loaded with tasty guacamole and was beautifully garnished. The boneless fried chicken pieces were light, perfectly seasoned, not greasy and stayed piping hot throughout our meal. Every member of the staff that served us was warm and professional; and you can tell that great service is just as important as great food there. We already look forward to a return trip to try the hamburger, which the table in back of us ordered and it looked really good. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was expecting so much more!! I'd come here pre-pandemic and had a good experience so was excited to bring part of my team and the intern to try it out! The apps were decent, but when it came to my meal and the service, not what I would expect from this restaurant. 1. Service: after the waitress seemed annoyed that we had questions on the menu, she took our orders and we didn't see or hear from her until she brought our food. Once all the food was delivered she never came back. No one was asked about refills on a drink or even if they were enjoying their meal. 2. Food: most of my team seemed to enjoy their meal. I ordered the prawns and for $40 I expected more. My food was brought out last and the prawns were not hot and beans were not done. Not impressed at all. I should have ordered the halibut. Won't be coming back here any more.

Yelp
Fun night with friends, table was not ready so we had to wait at the bar but other than that, cocktails were tasty, fish mains were fancy and not too heavy, pastas were ok (never impressed by pastas) and sharable desserts were on point. Overall the "Camper" theme is tastefully coherent and not overwhelming. You can feel the Michelin edge. On paper it's a good restaurant but there is just a bit more to that which makes you think : "yeah this restaurant stands out".

Yelp
On a whim we decided to try Camper. The photos on Google maps of the corn bread and s'mores looked so yummy we couldn't pass it up. Got last minute reservations at 5pm on a Saturday without issue, but the rest of the slots were full until 8pm. The ambiance is great, I love the subtle camping theme (they could even go further if they wanted). But the place is really comfortable and cozy and just perfect little touches everywhere. We did end up ordering the corn bread and s'mores, and both are fantastic. I could just get those next time and be happy. For my main, I got the honey nut squash agnolotti. The pasta tasted fresh and the filling was a little sweet but not too sweet. The sauce was a bit too oily for my taste, but not too much, I still enjoyed the meal quite a bit. My husband got the rigatoni and it was really yummy. The whole menu looked really good and it was hard to decide! Service was nice and friendly! Great hostess and waitstaff.

Yelp
I'll try to keep this brief... Camper is really cute; it's in a great location on the corner of Santa Cruz Ave, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The holidays brought in a few large parties, so it was very busy. The staff is amazing - super friendly and very attentive, even with how busy it was. The food was so, so good. I thoroughly enjoyed the cod dish I ordered; the mix of flavors was perfect. I cleaned my plate, eating every last lentil! It was a bit pricey, but I recommend visiting even if it's just once. You'll find a reason to go back, guaranteed.

Yelp
I wanted like this place ever since I found it in San Diego. Originally I wanted to come for dinner, but ended up here for Brunch instead. So this review is based purely on Brunch. Brunch is not worth it. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing that special either. Kids' meals were basic or overly fried (e.g. the chicken tenders) and prices were high for the quality and flavor. Also, avoid this place for Brunch if you are vegan. Nothing on the Brunch menu was vegan or easily modifiable to be vegan. Plus when we went they ran out of 2 items on their small menu, which made it more difficult to find something appropriate. Both my wife and I had to change our order as a result. At least service was good and the ambience was very nice. I could see this being a nice place for dinner or cocktails... just don't bother with Brunch.

Yelp
We sat outdoors for dinner and they had plenty of heaters to keep us warm. The service was nice as well, our waiter was kind. Corn agnolotti pasta- sooo good!! Very creamy and I love the corn with this. Sad that it's a seasonal dish, so get it while it's there! You really don't get much pasta though, and for the price I was expecting to get more. American wagyu cheeseburger- very flavorful, cooked well, overall a good burger S'mores dessert- didn't taste too much like s'mores but was still good. Surprisingly I found this too sweet and I have a sweet tooth!

Yelp
Came at opening at 5pm. Cornbread: nice flavors and would order again Eggplant moussaka: nice flavors but way too oily. Coachella valley corn agnolotti: pasta was well cooked and enjoyed the sweetness from the corn Gold die mezzo rigatoni: Flavor profiles were a bit one note. A good option for those looking for a heartier option. Wagyu cheeseburger : Bun was nice, but didn't taste too special. Service was below average. Our server didn't seem too interested and dishes took awhile to come out. Overall, food was fine, but a bit too pricey for me to recommend when you include an additional 25%+ on top for tip and the included service charge (6%).

Yelp
Innovative dishes that are not just interesting but tasty. Excellent service. Pricey but the taste, service and ambiance make up for it. Their vegetarian/vegan dishes are awesome. Their seafood dish tasted ok but smelled a little bit indicating not the freshest fish but the scallops and other dishes were amazingly delicious

Yelp
Cute spot in downtown Menlo Park. Came to celebrate my husband's birthday dinner and enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Wouldn't say it's amazing but it's a nice celebration spot and on a Friday rainy night this place was packed! What we ordered: - Cornbread with green chile honey butter (3/5): - sourdough bread with smoked ricotta dip (2/5): with all the great bakeries in the bay was disappointed with the bread and the dip was a bit too smoky for my taste - herb loaded fries with Catalan ketchup and garlic aioli (3/5): fries were nicely crisped but not loaded with herbs at all. Aioli had great flavor. - charcoal stained spaghetti with dungeoness crab (5/5): the best dish we had! Just the right balance of savory with a hint of sweetness from the crab - Artichoke agnolotti in a brown butter sauce (4/5): the agnolotti was very good but the butter sauce was a bit too heavy making it feel greasy. I think if there was less of the sauce this would've been 5/5 We also ordered a couple of cocktails and they custom made a well balanced drink based on criteria I asked for. For birthday celebrations they'll also give you a free dessert on the house. Overall I'd come back again but would visit for brunch/lunch since they have a nice outdoor patio and try the wagyu burger which a lot of other diners had.

Yelp
My coworker and I came here after working in the office on Monday. And I was blown away with the food. I always love pasta and Italian food in general but this place I went home and kept on talking about it to my partner. When we arrived we thought that we would sit outside, but my allergies were so bad that sitting under the tree would've been uncomfortable. The waiter completely understand how we felt and sat us inside happily, we were so grateful for the good service! I really loved the homemade pasta, I ordered the homemade pappardelle with morel mushrooms which I know are in season right now and it was so good. My coworker ordered the sweet pea agnolotti and it was phenomenal as well with the lemon citrus flavor! We even finished with the s'mores dessert, and we were both super surprised that we weren't like too full that our stomach hurt. Which I love because it shows how perfect the portions were on top of the deliciousness! I am definitely coming back and will be bringing my partner and friends over. An extra side note I got a couple cocktails and it was super yummy and strong to give ya a good buzz. Definitely going to come back here!

Yelp
Made reservations for 6:15pm on a Friday evening. Loved the ambiance! It was pretty fancy and serene, with medium noise level. Reminded me of a hotel lobby. My party of 4 shared the warm buttermilk cornbread, charred Zuckerman's asparagus, handcut pappardelle, wagyu cheeseburger, and "Greg's Steak." Food came quickly with good timing! Loved the cornbread and would highly recommend it! It came with green chile+honey butter dip which was a great touch. Asparagus with burrata was pretty good but pretty small portion. Handcut pappardelle was fresh, but it's on the heavier/creamier side, which may be hit-or-miss for some. Greg's Steak was delicious and cooked beautifully. Wagyu cheeseburger was also delicious! The meat was cooked very well at a medium rare. Overall, all of the dishes were pretty solid and the service was fantastic!

Yelp
My coworker found this nice little place for an after work dinner. The elevated menu definitely is a draw to enjoy a dinner that isn't formal but also not super casual, the interior decor is refined but not stuffy and the menu also speaks to that with each dish executed very well. For our meal we split the cornbread which came recommended. The cornbread has a delicious crust along with the accompanying butter. I can see why this was a crowd favorite as it's perfect for sharing and a great way to start the meal. I opted for the steak dish cooked medium rare. The combination of perfectly cooked steak, vegetables and mole were a delight. A lot of complex flavors are established from the mole and you'll find yourself wanting to dip your steak in the sauce for more and more. My coworker ordered the cheeseburger with fries also cooked medium rare and felt it was a solid burger option, essentially a quitensential burger should look and taste like. The service was spot on with the team being attentive and highlighting recommendations and ensuring the food came out at a nice leisurely pace. The dining room got fairly busy, but we still felt the team did a great job checking in on us throughout our meal without feeling overbearing. Overall camper is a nice place to visit, I feel you get a nice dining experience at the price point and would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Came here for a company dinner and Camper did not disappoint! I started off with the fresh half dozen oysters which already had a light mignonette applied long with minced garlic. I also appreciated the "sleeve" that they had over the lemon which allowed you to extract the juices without any of the seeds falling into your food - genius! The oysters themselves were fresh, slightly sweet, and bursting with juice, accented by the tart lemons. For the entree, I decided to go with the charcoal stained spaghetti and Dungeness crab fra diavolo. The pasta was cooked al dente, just how I like it and you could easily tell that this was made in-house. They also don't skimp on the crab here and you will likely get one in every bite. My only complaint with this dish was that I wish the sauce was just a tad thicker so the noodles could better pick it up - was so hard to resist not picking the plate up and slurping all the broth down! Finally, I ended the meal with their olive oil mochi cake. This comes served on a cast iron pan topped with fresh fruit to help cut the fattiness, easily shareable! I'm always a fan of the chewy mochi texture and this cake definitely scratches that itch, it's also not too sweet so you don't feel guilty when you inevitably finish the whole cake yourself. The vibe at Camper is definitely a more intimate/fancy setting so come here for your special occasions!
