Houston’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Houston

"Housed in a charming converted bungalow in Montrose, this coffee spot is one of the best places in the city to work while also enjoying Latin-inspired food and coffee. Campesino offers a variety of empanadas and tamales served with plantain chips and its must-try café de olla, a traditional Mexican coffee brewed with ground coffee, cinnamon, and piloncillo (a traditional brown sugar-like candy), served in a clay mug. For those seeking a non-caffeinated option, the horchata is a refreshing alternative." - Brianna Griff

Somewhat difficult to park. We got lucky and found a spot in the front. When you enter, it’s a big open space with plenty of seating areas. Tables for 2, couches, and an outdoor seating area. We didn’t wait that long for our drinks, maybe like 2 minutes. Not bad at all. The vibe is good, and they played Lord of the Rings on the tv. It’s definitely a chill place to drink coffee and be with friends or get some laptop stuff done. Ask for the receipt to get Wi-Fi.

Google
This place is a house converted into a coffee shop. Plenty of seating, chairs, stools, couches etc. I wouldn't be able to study here with the constant noise and movement of people. Maybe a nice place to chit chat and catch up with friends. There are restrooms, but you need an access code to open the door. Whatever coffee we ordered was terrible. Overpriced for a cup the size of a mouthwash cup and it was only half full. My husband's drink was full, but so bitter. My kid had the Horchata Latte and that was pretty good. We did not try the food as we had just wrapped up dinner. We wanted to enjoy our coffee there, but because ours was terrible, we left to find another coffee shop.

I had heard about this coffee shop so I was excited to finally check it out. It did not disappoint! I came here on a Sunday and it was pretty busy but I was able to get a table. They have free Wi-Fi so almost everyone was on their laptops because it is a great space to get some work done. You can choose from sitting at actual tables or more comfy sofa seating. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter. I decided to go for the Tamale de Elote and the Horchata Latte. I AM OBSESSED! They were both sooo good! Just like the food, the service was great as well! I am definitely coming back!

Google
The people who work here and run the place are very nice. Service is always friendly. Often times, however, they refer to the same items with different names, and it's like ordering blindly sometimes. One person will have no idea what you're referring to, even using the terminology of the last person that was working. They don't serve anything super complicated, though, so we figure it out. LoL I love the iced coffee(olla brew), and the vintage feel of what I'm assuming was once used as a house. It's charming. Cool energy. Usually a handful of people there, on their computers. A good amount of seating options.

Google
Interesting coffee house from a converted house I tried one of their specials (forgot name) - it had the requisite caffeine hit but was really sweet! The baristas are a really nice. There’s plenty of varied seating (armchairs, bench/ tables, dining table and chairs, etc.) throughout the shop and some outdoor areas. The interior features a n overall very comfy aesthetic, which I personally find it hard to study / work in. There’s parking in front, on the sides, and street parking.

Google
We loved this place very much, kept coming back for more for the cafe de olla con leche... the menu states that it has piloncillo and cinnamon and while the flavor takes you back to authentic cafe de olla it was a bit of a ddisappointment to find out that it's not really made in house with teak cinnamon or piloncillo it's just a flavored coffee. Nice, cozy place!

Google
Cute little coffee shop in Montrose. The staff is friendly and the coffee is delish! Each room in the house is decorated different, find yourself a spot and enjoy. It’s a really great spot to sit and enjoy quiet time, lots of students. There are so many by cute little seating options, great patio space as well.

Google
Awesome coffee shop with excellent customer service. I’m obsessed with their tamales. An absolute must try if in the Montrose area.

Yelp
I've heard great things about Campesino from both my Yelp and non-Yelp friends, both of whom suggested that I give this place a try even if I'm not a big coffee drinker. Sure enough, I very much enjoyed my visit on a Saturday afternoon while catching up with a friend. This small shop sits on the corner of a residential block and would easily be mistaken as a home if not for the number of cars parked right outside. The vibe is cozy with a garden variety of seats to choose from, as in typical Montrose fashion. The inside seats offer plenty of ambient light through every wall, or you could enjoy some direct sunlight in the backyard with both shaded and unshaded areas. The horchata deserves just as much praise as the welcoming atmosphere. Their unique and delicious recipe sets it apart from the rest of the beverage businesses in the area. Even more so since it's only $4 for a tall glass -- a rare find anywhere these days, let alone Montrose. I can't ask for more out of a non-caffeinated drink. What a cool place to read, work, socialize, or all of the above! Very few coffee shops can match the versatility that this one offers.

Yelp
I wanted to eat breakfast type but not heavy and something to sit and chill and FOUND a cute little place!!! Mexican coffee!!!! Yes!!!!!! Cafe de holla and horchata iced coffee, and let me tell you about the pastries PAN MEXICANO to be exact!! Pan Dulce, and tamales OMG!! We ordered a pork tamale and cafe de holla and horchata ice coffee and empanada "guava" and chocolate and almonds muffin yummmmm!!!! Can't wait The service is excellent! The young man makes you feel welcome and is very chill when taking your order and the ambiance is very chill friendly homie!! I loved it!! The horchata iced coffee is good, I wished it was stronger! And had some thickness to it but it was still a good drink! The cafe de holla is missing the piloncillo and the coffee smell and taste is just coffee... try adding cinnamon and piloncillo.. that's the authentic Mexican cafe de holla. The pastries were good, soft, sweet and filling yum The tamal was perfect! Authentic Oaxaca taste!!! And it accompanied with chips and bottle salsa like in Mexico! I wished they had the yucca, I really wanted to try them. They have just regular potato chips and that ok The chocolate muffin is so moist and delicious!! They warmed it up and it made the top almonds and muffin toasty and that is a plus!!! I enjoyed it, so you know the place is an old house and I loved how they kept the walls dividing the rooms!!! With no doors, privacy and homey vibes

Yelp
I got the moya mocha. I liked the slight heat from the spices at the end of the sip. It is a small house with cozy vibes.

Yelp
Their unique Horchata Iced Coffee is my favorite coffee in town. The place is a converted Montrose bungalow and has a great laid back vibe. Great classic movies are shown all day above the fireplace. The side patio is a great place when the weather is nice. My favorite coffee shop in Houston

Yelp
We stopped by for an afternoon pick me up on a Friday and there was plenty of street parking, more than enough seating inside and in their outdoor patio, and a ton of drinks to choose from. We got the Mayan Mocha and Iced Horchata Latte. Both were tasty and specifically for the mocha, it had just enough spice for us to feel the heat but not be overwhelming like other spiced chocolate drinks can be. I also grabbed a guava empanada on the way out and it was delicious!

Yelp
This place was a super short walk from my airbnb and the kiddo and I needed to get out for a bit. Campesino was quite busy but lucky enough there was plenty of spaces to sit and hang out. The staff was friendly. They allowed my kiddo to try the horchata before ordering a full one. They served a generous amount in a glass with ice and cinnamon on top. The horchata is also priced at $4 which I believe is fair! I will definitely be back. This place has a homey feel to it that would provide a great working environment. Happy Yelping!

Yelp
No nuts in the coffee! I met a friend here and it was pretty full on a Sunday afternoon. There's seating indoors and a larger area in the back. You order and pick up at the counter. I had to park on a nearby street. Lovely, flavorful coffee at a reasonable price WITH a free refill? Perfect for catching up with a friend or a first date. It's a great spot that I'd definitely return to.

Yelp
The coffee is good and the cozy vibe is what coffee shops in this town are missing ! Service is slow and outdoor seating is not great though... Parking: There is plenty of parking ! You can park in the lot of on the street. They also have a bike area Seating: There are a lot of cozy couches/ seats inside the main part of the house. The rest of the space has 2 top tables and 2/3 group tables. Unfortunately the 2 tops are seem to get taken by individuals , which cuts the seating in half (especially since the tables are quite small so sharing can be a challenge). They do have a large side patio with plenty of additional seating but it needs some TLC. The tables wobble and there's basically no shade/coverage (there were 2 broken umbrellas when I came). Drinks: I got the cafe con leche and it was amazing ! I love that they have south American coffee and food. The coffee specifically is delicious and makes it stand out from the rest of the coffee shops in Houston Service: The service is lacking. On a Sunday late morning they only had 2 people lacking. Orders were taken very slowly and people were waiting around the order area for quite a while. They wouldn't call drinks out loudly either so there was confusion when people tried to get their items. If they added names to the orders and projected more this would help out a lot. Other things: I don't think they had the AC on inside which made it very hot... They have single stall bathrooms They do have a ramp from the parking so it seems to be wheelchair accessible Overall it's a cute place and the coffee is good but they could do some things to make the space a bit better (especially the patio which would help with seating!)

Yelp
The ambiance from the moment you step inside is tranquil, serene and quiet-- I just KNOW I'll finally be able to finish coding and develop my software skills even more by visiting more frequently and not having my annoying anxious avoidant neighbor trying to start a conversation every 5 minutes in the common space area of where I reside. I can finally sip my coffee in peace and get some work done at the same time. Latina owned business and I look forward to returning again! El cafe de olla tastes just as if I made it at home, fresh y con un toque de canela traen el pan dulce del "El Bolillo", the best spot to buy pan dulce in Houston in my humble and ferocious foodie opinion. Como Hispana, y mas que nada, Mexicana y Cubana, a good cup of coffee is hard to find up to my standards... but this spot passes the test. It reminded me so much of my usual favorites in Austin, TX. This is one spot you do NOT want to miss within the Houston city limits for good pan dulce y un cafecito for the road .

Yelp
Still one of my favorite coffee shops in Houston for the ambiance and affordability. Always try to get here either early or late for good parking and seating. Note that prices have increased recently, however, this is one of the few places with good coffee under $5 still. I usually order the cafe de olla, but tried the campesino cafe con leche for first time which was not bad either. The new mugs are also very cute!

Yelp
A home turned into such a cute cozy coffee shop with delicious coffee. There is limited parking in front and the side of the building. There is a new big parking lot behind the coffee shop that you are able to park at. Multiple sitting: bar style, couches, table seating, and patio seating. If you enjoy your coffee there then you get a mug to enjoy it in. I loved the cafe con leches. No hint of bitter coffee and not sweet. Deliciousness in a cup. Add this place to your rotation if coffee shops to visit whether it's for me time, study time, socializing, or work time.

Yelp
I was looking for a good coffee place where my friend and I could sit and talk chisme. The horchata latte is really what drew us to this place. It did not disappoint either! It was so good! Was it an authentic horchata flavor? No, but it was still pretty great. So great that I took my husband a couple of weeks later for the same latte. There were several places to sit and talk, we even got to sit on one of their couches, which made the gossip easier. We stayed so long that we ended up each ordering a second latte. The whole place is very outdated and old but that's exactly what they are going for. It's definitely just an old house that was converted into a coffee shop. It was busy when we got there and it stayed busy for the entire time we were there. The service was quick, though, so we never waited very long for our lattes. It was a great experience, we'll definitely be back for our next café y chisme session.

Yelp
This is a cozy coffee house perfect for working at, as it is filled with folks on their laptops. Luckily it's quiet so you can enjoy a coffee and get your work done. Service was straightforward and fast. If it is busy, I would just Google their menu as they only had one at the front. Now for the important part: the coffee. I ordered the cafe de olla, with creamer. It was smooth, not overpowering, with lovely light notes of cinnamon and sugar. Not overly sweet, just a hint. My boyfriend ordered the campesino cafe con leche which was essentially the same as the cafe de olla but with more milk. The flavor was even lighter in this one but very good! Again not too sweet just smooth with a delicate cinnamon flavor. I really enjoyed the coffee, it was simple, but good and the cups they serve them in are so cute. I will definitely go back to try other flavors. The coffee prices were also pretty affordable compared to their joints.

Yelp
There's a lot to appreciate about Campesino Coffee House, which through its neighborhood kkhas garnered plenty of local fanfare over the few years. As an old house that has been converted to a cafe, it has become a casual option for work, study, and even to hang out. One will likely see lots of different walks of life here, along with a solid amount of coffee friendly options They describe themselves as a place that captures the vibe of the early Montrose bohemia with "Latin-centric" menu items. They're not wrong, but the unique pairing along with the cute setup is appealing, and I could see myself making this a regular spot for whenever I"m in need of a place to score some caffeine and some WiFi. The cold brew works wonders for my tired brain and the horchata latte goes down a little too easily. The pork tamal is a nice addition, even if they seem somewhat small for $10. At least they come with some (likely store bought) plantain chips and hot sauce. is fatty with good flavor and I love the bits of potato. It works better as a snack than a meal. I hope they continue to develop the food, since this could be a fun draw for new patrons. Parking is limited out front, but there are plenty of spaces in the back. WiFi is spotty but when in doubt, shoot for network #24. Furniture isn't in the best condition and the interior could use a sprucing up. There are tears in the chairs and many of the mini tables aren't level. Lots of random seating with benches and even street view, but outlets are mainly in the corners. Staff is young and hipster, much like the Montrose faithful who are in and out of this spot. I'll be back ... likely often.

Yelp
We came here in mid-morning to get some work done. The small lot right in front of it was full, but there is a larger lot nearby that I'm not sure is free? Anyway, we parked there and did not get a ticket or towed over the 2 hours we were there. We ordered at the front and had no problems finding a table. This place reminds me of an old house (probably was one at one point) and the separate rooms makes for a quieter experience. The table we found was right next to the bathrooms, which is coded and the code, along with the wifi password, is printed on your receipt. The wifi is strong and I was able to get everything done, and even had an outlet right next to me at my table. The coffee tasted good and was reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and I loved that there is a accessible ramp for those who need it to get in and out. There is a lovely front and rear porch which I am sure is nice on a day with good weather.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop in Houston to get work done! The cafe de olla was amazing and it came with a free refill. The place is super cute, quirky, and right in the middle of Houston.

Desiree R.

Yelp
This place is absolutely adorable! Great coffee! They have a refill special as well. The seating is very comfortable, there's common area couches or smaller tables for more privacy. There were a few people there working or reading and a few having a conversation. It was a very relaxing experience. They do also have a short food menu that I will be sure to try when I go back
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
Not only is the coffee spectacular, but it's a unique atmosphere! They offer unique specialty coffees and empanadas and other baked goods. There is a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. Just turn a corner and there's more seating found! The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. I ordered an iced oat milk latte. It was super good! You can also add flavor shots if you prefer.

Karla H.

Yelp
The staff forgot to make my order and then lied and said that someone must of picked it up on accident. The tamale was soggy and disgusting , sooo terrible. Coffee tasted like gas station coffee over priced place for sure.

Michelle H.

Yelp
This is a cute hole in the wall place and definitely has cozy vibes. However, the food is so-so. Seems like pastries you get from your local panadería and the choripan sandwich was kind of lacking -- sorry to say it tasted like eating a slightly elevated hot dog in a bolillo bun with chimichurri sauce that got the bread soggy. And the $10 tamale being served with ruffle-like chips and what tasted like tapatio as their hot sauce on the side... was a little lackluster. The food was presented in a red basket I'd expect to get at a fast food burger joint. The mugs they put the coffee in were cute but a bit on the small side if you're ok with that. I would recommend going for the drinks and maybe the vibe since it's a cute place, but the food has me like
google avatar

Melodi D.

Yelp
Might be my new favorite coffee shop in Houston. Campesino has a very homey vibe, as it seems to built literally inside a home. There are a variety of rooms and seating options, whether you want to read, catch up with a friend, or do work. It does not get too busy, even on a Saturday. I was able to find a cozy place to nestle up and read a book for a while. The menu is also great--not too many items but such unique offerings. I tried the Horchata Iced Latte and Veggie Empanada, both of which were fantastic. The service is quick and friendly. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
What a cute place to grab coffee with a friend and study! I like the cozy, homey feel to this coffee shop. The staff was helpful in helping me select a coffee and pastry item. Pointing out the most popular items and sharing their favorite. While I enjoyed the chocolate muffin quite a bit, the coffee I got was not anything to write home about. It had some subtle hints of honey and cinnamon (felt kind of like a tea at times). It was okay. If you prefer strong/robust flavors for your coffee then I'm not sure this is quite the spot for you. However, if your looking for something simple and smooth to enjoy with friends- this might be for you! Just not for me.

Yelp
Review #800 Discovered this spot during a recent Houston visit. A former house repurposed making for a variety of cozy seating/lounging options. Outside seating in front and on the side also. I visited multiple times and with the exception of one visit, they were full. Favorite speciality coffee is the Horchata Iced Latte. Vanilla and Cinnamon play nicely with Espresso and make this a perfect hot weather drink. Enjoyed the Cafe Con Leche also. The sweet Empanadas were a big hit with the family. Guava (sweetest) and Pineapple were the favorites. Enjoyed the Choripan for lunch and the Chimichurri and hot sauce along with the Plantain Chips on the side take this sandwich over the top. Saw they have breakfast sandwiches and tamales-next time. Service was excellent with engaged and service minded people making some delicious coffee drinks and food. Don't miss this Montrose Gem.

Yelp
I've been to Campesino twice. It's an interesting spot. As other reviewers have said, it's a small, old one-story house that was turned into a coffee spot. There are different seating arrangements. There is seating outdoors too. Wifi is decent but the last time I was there, it was unusually slow. Here's my opinion of what I've ordered from 2 visits: Horchata Iced Latte - 3/5 Cream cheese empanada - 0/5 Cuban coffee with whole milk - 4.8/5 Plantain Muffin - 5/5 Temperature-wise, if the AC is on and you're by the vent, you'll feel cold. Otherwise, it's lukewarm. Beware parking is limited. I do like that they close at 9 pm, not earlier like some coffee shops.

Yelp
Campesino is such a homey cafe complete with a fireplace, although like Cloud 9, it's non-functioning. My friend and I found it by happenstance after eating at Piggy's. It was a chilly night, and we wanted to grab a cup of coffee before walking around Buffalo Bayou park. There's plenty of various seating styles depending on your purpose. Bar stools to chill and mingle. Sofas to relax...and mingle. Counter and table seating to do solo work or study with a group. This cafe has it all. Service was friendly and informative. Their pastries come from El Bolillo, and there's a small assortment in the display case at the counter where you order. I had a plantain muffin, which was a bit dry but tasty. It wasn't strong like banana bread. I don't really like bananas, so I was pleased. It wasn't overly sweet either. I had the Campesino cafè con leche, which is the cafè de olla with cinnamon, honey, and steamed oat milk. I love oat milk and pretty much only drink that, so I enjoyed this bevy. I could taste the dash of cinnamon, and it was not too sweet with the honey. It was served in a to-go cup. We sat on the sofas to warm up and enjoy our coffees and pastries after eating outside on the patio at Piggy's before our walk. It definitely was a nice change from your average Starbucks or coffee shop with the Latin coffee beans and music.

Yelp
Met someone up for some coffee here and really was digging the vibes here! It looks like an older house turned into a coffee shop, which explains the name of the place. A lot of reviews use the word cozy to describe this place, and I can not think of a better word as it is just that. It looks as if they kept everything original in there and just put in a work space to make coffee. There are comfortable chairs and tables all over to enjoy your tasty orders. If I were a studying or reading kind of guy, this would be the place I would come. They had E.T. playing when we were there, so extra brownie points for that! As always, I didn't know what I wanted, so the very friendly young lady behind the counter gave me great suggestions. The menu is described as a Latin perspective on Montrose coffee culture. Everything on the menu had just that. I ended up with an Horchata Iced Latte. The milky, cinnamoney drink that I loved as a coffee drink was outstanding. I could taste the cinnamon and vanilla even with the two shots of espresso, Everything was so well balanced. She got a Café Cubano and it was tasty. It's a tiny, but mighty drink. It will definitely perk you up. I am always on the lookout for great coffee shops and this one totally fit the bill. I will be back for sure!

Yelp
Solid coffees, especially the spicy mocha. Pastries looked pretty good but we didn't get any of those. Chill vibe inside and a nice place to grab to-go as well.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite cozy cafes in Houston. There is always an open seat and an outlet if you need to work/study/shop online. They have WiFi which you can gain access to if you order something. I always get their horchata iced latte and a tamale while I work! There is a lot of outdoor seating as well and there is additional parking which means I don't have to fight for a spot ! This is my go to cafe :)

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop with delicious Cuban inspired coffee and food. It's good for work, relaxing or a bite to eat. Decent parking.

Yelp
Been here about 3 times now and I have to say that I am a fan! Bonus points for it being a small local business. Staff have been friendly with me at each visit so far. Parking can be tricky. There is street parking around the area, but it gets full quite fast. A huge parking lot is present behind the coffee shop, but the owner told me that it belongs to the clinic next door. The clinic is closed on Sunday, so you likely wouldn't get towed -- but not guaranteed. I have not parked there personally, but I have friends that have and they were fine -- I think it really depends on your luck/the day. Now, on to the ~vibes~. This coffee shop reminds me of the local coffee shops when I used to live in Austin. It is quite small, making it perfect for cozy study vibes at night. It would be difficult to study here with a many friends due to the lack of space. I would recommend if you're coming with one friend or by yourself. So far, I have tried the cafe con leche and the maya mocha latte with oat milk! I was hoping for a stronger mocha flavor and kick with the maya mocha latte. Drinks are not too sweet if that is what you're looking for. The drinks were okay in my opinion, but for the ambience alone, I would come back.
google avatar

Yara C.

Yelp
Really good coffee and a tranquil area to sit and enjoy your drink. Quick and friendly service. I would definitely recommend.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Houston! This coffee shop is so cozy and homey. If you work remote, they don't actually play music in the coffee shop which is a plus when you are trying to take calls etc. :) As for the coffee: My friend ordered just a drip coffee and they had free refills on that which is appreciated! I ordered the iced horchata latte and omg perfection!!! Not too sweet at all and just so rich and delicious. We didn't get a chance to try out their food, but it seems to be all be homemade so major kudos!
google avatar

Mariel T.

Yelp
Cozy spot, would be great for studying! We swung by for the cafe con leche and a lavender oat latte. They were okay. Im excited to try out the food options next time!

Yelp
Really nice little coffee house. The people are so friendly and the coffee and pastries were so good.

Aislynn G.

Yelp
Cute and unique coffee spot! Really good variety and plenty of room to study. It does get a little packed at peak times so keep that in mind.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop. This just a comment on what happened today. Nothing pertaining to the wonderful service I normally experience here. So I just went to alert an employee at the front about a woman sitting close to us outside. That she was smoking outside. And instead of talking to her, he told me it is legal. That they allow it at this establishment. And I reiterated that it is illegal. But he didn't seem to think is. And I don't want to fault him for not knowing the law. But the managers should better educate their employees. Because it is illegal in the city of Houston for anyone to be smoking within 50 of the door.

Yelp
cozy cafe!! limited parking in the front, but lots of parking in the back & street parking. initially, i thought the place was pretty small, but to my surprise, there's a small area with plenty of seating. i got the campesino cafe con leche & my husband got the horchata. both are extremely delicious & have a good sweetness level! definitely recommend coming here

Yelp
TLDR Go here as a coffee shop and you'll have a great time. However, if you order the food prepare to be disappointed. Variety of seating options, both inside and outside. First of all, the ONLY reason this gets 3 stars is for the coffee and ambiance. The seating is cozy and comfy, especially outside. Lots of shade provided and various seating styles. For the coffee, I got a double cubano prepared as a latte and it was quite good, as well as a maya mocha latte which was good; so this place as a coffee shop gets a cool 7/10 score. But the tamales. My god the tamales were atrocious. We ordered the pork tamales and what we received was as good as a hate crime. Every tamale was $10 served with a small handful of banana chips. Absolute rip off. On each end of the tamale was a POTATO and the pork was UNSEASONED STEW MEAT, all wrapped in the blandest masa I've ever had. They were wrapped in palm instead of husk and were incredibly greasy, the only redeeming quality was the red sauce's flavor was incredible. But to be honest, after biting into a giant undercooked potato I got mad and opened them all up (as seen in the pictures). So I apologize for no before photo, but I wasn't intending to leave a review. Now, to be fair to them, they do say there are potatoes in the tamales, but the fact that 80% of the tamales was unseasoned potato and unseasoned masa, that is still incredibly misleading and disappointing. It's important to note that it is an absolute ripoff, but technically what is advertised. HEB tamales that you heat up at home are better than what they deliver. DO NOT GO HERE FOR FOOD. Overall, I think this place is a fairly decent COFFEE SHOP. Stick to the drinks and pastries and you're good. But I would not order any of the food if you're expecting something really authentic and good.

Yelp
Vibe- This is one of the most cozy coffee shops I've been to! Maybe it's because it literally is a house that was turned into a coffee shop :) there's a big space in the front and then there's 3 other rooms with plenty of seating options. There's 3 bar style areas to sit at, some couches, and a great amount of tables with chairs. There's some seating outside too! Customer service- Amazing! The barista that served me was sweet and helpful. Food/drinks- I got a cortado with oat milk and vanilla. To eat I got the black bean tamales that came with plantain chips and everything was so good! Parking- There's about 9 spots in the lot of the shop and then street parking as well.

Yelp
Best Coffee I've ever had. I recommend the cortadito-cubano and ice horchata! The customer service is always friendly and cheerful. The ambiance gives a cozy home vibe.

Yelp
It's great to revisit the classic coffee shops, like Campesino! It's a little house in Montrose. Limited parking space but you can park in the lot on weekends. Very visible handicap ramp to help our friends. It's a cozy simple inside, couches, benches, high tables, mini booths for 2. All is well set for a productive time or tranquil moment. I picked a Campesino chan, which is hibiscus lemonade with chia seeds. Very lovely whne you don't feel like coffee (or it's too late in the day! Lol) What I find unique here is the latino-centric menu, with all day tamales! And tamales are delicious! Enjoying the feel of being at home but surrounded with a chill ambiance.

Yelp
Some conversation, but pretty calm environment that's good for studying and a hot cup of coffee. Seating is quite close in proximity, so do not bring a date here if you don't know how it'll go. Depending on how much seating is open, you'll have access to a wall outlet. It is run out of a renovated house, and I think they've done a pretty good job of adding more seating. I also like the amount of natural light you can get. Parking used to be horrible (several narrow spots alongside the home) but now there's a big parking lot behind the house. Really saved us from trying to squeeze or scouring curbs. I always get the Cafe de Olla & it's delicious, has a bit of sourness since I take it black. My caffeine tolerance isn't high enough to drink both refills (I limit myself to one cup/90mg a day), which is a bummer because I only finished one cup this time around. Maybe bring a thermos or something to save it for later. Their Americano is also solid and the beans seem to be ground pretty fresh. I'll always rec this place. Hope it sticks around for a while in Montrose!

Yelp
Limited parking, street parking available. Small local neighborhood spot tucked away. Plenty of seating inside and outside/ small tables for small parties available as well. As I was enjoying the ambiance of this coffee house, I can see and hear the relationship with staff and customers. Definitely rotating returning customers come in and out, small intimate conversations that you can hear.. and you think to yourself. No wonder why this place has been around for so long. It's for the people! Kats coffee served, coffee specials, pastries available, sweet small spot for locals. Enjoy your coffee folks! My coffee came with free refills. Ftw!

Yelp
I love this Hispanic inspired coffee shop! The coffee is so well brewed with authentic spices and flavors infused in each of their drinks. On top of that, the atmosphere is a comfortable setting to relax, study, or lounge around with some friends. By far, this is one of the best coffee shops I've been to in Houston! I highly recommend!

Yelp
Space: ADORABLE space to study. It's a converted house, and has many rooms with cozy study spaces. There are a good number of smaller tables that fit 2 people, and a few that can fit more. It may be hard to fit a large study group here. The atmosphere is cozy but there is some nice relatively upbeat music going. Has outdoor seating as well, if Houston weather permits. Service: Friendly baristas! Super nice and helpful. Price: Competitive price to other coffee chains. Americanos start around $3.25 and their specialty coffees start a little higher. The Cafe de Olla is amazing at $3.50 and has a free refill! Coffee: I think their coffee is really good. Americanos are sometimes bitter as I normally drink my coffee black, but it was not bitter at all here. Great quality coffee. Parking: Not too bad - there is parking around the coffeeshop, but neighborhood parking is easy to find. tl;dr an adorable coffeeshop to study or work. Great ambiance. Easy to get work done here. Great coffee!
