"Partnering with Cannon Beach’s local haunt Bill’s Tavern for brews, the Cannon Beach Smokehouse focuses on house-made smoked meats, spanning from fresh sausages and fried pork rinds to smoked chicken wings and duck breast. Specials rotate almost daily in the 700-square-foot space, with options like a brined-and-smoked turkey Reuben or piles of succulent brisket. Vegetarians can indulge as well, especially with the grilled brie and smoked mozz sandwich gilded with fresh pear and marionberry jam." - Alli Fodor, Jennifer Burns Bright

Yelp
This was some of the best smoked meat I've had and definitely the best food we ate while visiting Cannon Beach. Their Cubano sandwich was fantastic, side note ask for some of their delicious Carolina sauce for dipping. My daughter had their play on a grilled cheese sandwich. The Brie with blackberry jam was mind blowing. Our server was prompt with his service, friendly, and added to our overall experience. My wife and I also loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The dark wood trim with forest green walls made it feel inviting yet intimate. Will definitely go back to have a pour of Blanton's whiskey.

Yelp
The wait was a little long but understandable given the size. We ordered the sampler plate along with a jalapeno corn dog and everything was delicious. The staff was very busy and they were working in tight quarters so not much of a chance to interact with them. Felt at times that getting their attention was an imposition. They weren't rude or anything but they were busy. All in all, I enjoyed the food and it would be among my first choices if eating at Cannon Beach again.

Yelp
was charged an 18% "gratuity" fee... for a to go order! The cubano was yummy but also cost $20....so...

Yelp
Tiny bar-like, but kid-friendly, atmosphere, tough if you have a group larger than 4 to compete for one of these tables but if you have to wait, DO. Excellent food, friendly service and considering how small the kitchen is, fast. Dirty fries, smoked turkey Ruben and brisket sandwich were all a hit, meat is just right, the pickles tart and crunchy and just a little bit sweet. I wish I had a bit more sauce on the Ruben to start, but the turkey was the star of the dish, why cover it in sauce? Generous portions and fairly priced. And yes, you want the hand-cut fries as the side.

Yelp
Can you say yummmmmm! Ok, so they have corn dogs on their menu. Need I say more? This place is a tiny whole in the wall with some seriously yummy eats. We got these loaded fries with pork. Their bbq sauce was my favorite. It had the perfect tang to it! The service was very nice! They were fast and friendly!

Yelp
My wife and I are in Portland for our anniversary and decided to take a drive to Cannon Beach. Of course we had to look up somewhere to have lunch and this caught our eye. When we walked in, we were greeted and quickly shown to a table. The interior is small and rustic feeling. Just a hidden beach down vibe. Food was delicious. We ordered the cured ciabatta sandwich and the soft pretzel with the house made smoked nacho cheese. Everything was seasoned well, tasted fresh and delicious. I highly recommend swinging through if you're in the area

Yelp
I ordered the Turkey Rueben and had the Keyote Margarita food was really good. Tons of flavor and the hand cut fries - super good! Friendly staff and overall good vibes!

Yelp
Great services. FRESH FLAVORFUL FOOD. I ordered the buttery breaded brisket sandwich. An orgy in your mouth. Hands down a must try during your visit at Canon Beach

Shirley C.

Yelp
Visited after the beach and was the perfect choice. Great service and great food. Enjoyed the bbq brisket nachos and pulled pork sandwich

Yelp
The food was amazing fresh andso delicious the service was great 5 star 20/10 loved it

Yelp
This is a great smokehouse!!! Everything cooked to order and is very flavorful.... Small personalized service here, restaurant offers a few tables and small little bar... There is a bit of a wait due to the capacity of the restaurant but the food is pretty darn good !!! The pulled pork fries were my favorite of them all !! Will be back next time im in cannon beach !!

Kat J.

Yelp
Never ever disappoints!! My son is known as the chicken lobster here because he cleans the bone to the extreme to get every morsel of the flavors. Service is super personal and inviting, ambiance is a great chill vibe off the main Cannon Beach Hustle! Small but mighty!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The food and the ambiance in this small establishment are just beyond! We happened upon it, thankfully, as we were driving down the coast. We were lucky to be seated before a rush hit, and we were not disappointed. Only two gentlemen manning service and the kitchen, and they were funny! We were able to catch the end of a college football game while enjoying drinks and delicious eats. The chicharrones were crispy and light (warning -- there are lots of them!). I got the Cubano and my husband got the pulled pork. Ok, I don't known where the meats are smoked, but the meats were perfect!!!!!! So much flavor! So tender! And so flipping good!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and make the time to stop in Cannon Beach for amazing eats in a cool spot. Be prepared to wait if it is busy (and you have to wait outside -- there just isn't room for a crowd). The wait is definitely worth it!!!!!

Yelp
The food was great! The carolina bbq wings were really good, especially the fries. I think the fries may have been double fried, providing an extra crunch This restaurant is NOT fast food. Hopefully they are able to expand their location into a bigger restaurant to reach more customers at a faster pace because the food was well worth it. Since the kitchen is small, it takes quite a while to be served. Service: Ratting this joint is tough because the service can be improved. Although the place is small, it took 8 minutes to get a menu. One of our company needed to know the ingredients due to her health and the server, Tyler, came back to our table making a snarky comment about him being surprised we were still there. An ex-employee came in to the restaurant to pick up a check speaking loudly of an inappropriate personal conversation. Ambiance: tight space, if your conversations are incredibly personal prob save it for another time

Katya L.

Yelp
The BBQ here is ridiculously good; a little hole-in-the-wall joint that rivals the best of bigger-city BBQ. They have a mean breakfast sando and solid app options like loaded fries or an overindulgent corn dog, but I always opt for the sampler tray. Served with smoked brisket, pulled pork, and a sausage, plus coleslaw, sauerkraut, and a trio of sauces plus pickles, rounded out with a buttery slice of white bread, it's the best showcase of what the tiny kitchen churns out with such aplomb. The service is always friendly, but due to the size of the space there might be a bit of a wait to order and get your goodies. (Best to come in the off-season and between the lunch and dinner rushes.) Despite the tiny size they have a full bar and a number of draft beers to round out the BBQ experience. Docking a star (half-star really, this would be a solid 4.5 star experience if Yelp allowed half-stars) for the space itself. Whenever I've been in there's been a bit of a funky smell - a deep cleaning and airing-out would make it that much more pleasant. Still, the BBQ is worth it.

Yelp
If you are having even the slightest craving for BBQ (or maybe not even craving BBQ at all), you NEED to check Cannon Beach Smokehouse out. My husband and I typically go to the same restaurants whenever we visit Cannon Beach but this last time around, we decided to venture out and try new restaurants and boy, this is definitely getting added to our list for future visits. The inside is VERY small and doesn't seat many people, so don't be turned away if the wait time is a bit long. You can walk to the beach to kill some time! 1) Freshly Fried Pork Rinds - My husband always buys a bag of Pork Rinds chips from the grocery store so of course we had to order this app when we saw it on the menu. The seasoning they add to the rinds gives it the perfect amount of kick to this very crunchy app. 2) Brisket (A La Carte) - So. Good. Definitely order this off of the A La Carte section of the menu if you don't already order anything else containing brisket. 3) Smoked Cubano Sandwich - My husband ordered this sandwich and lets just say he devoured it...so I think it's safe to say he very well enjoyed this sandwich. The sweet chili aioli and sweet hot mustard they add in the sandwich was the perfect amount of hot and tanginess. 4) That Grilled Cheese - I'm not a huge meat eater so I opted in for the grilled cheese sandwich. I was intrigued that this contained marionberry jam, which I've never had jam before in any grilled cheese sandwiches. Now I will definitely be adding (marionberry) jam to all of my grilled cheese sandwiches! So glad we stumbled across this restaurant during our vacation in Cannon Beach. We brought our daughter as well and we just so happened to be seated at a table where we could park her stroller at the table for her to remain seated in (they didn't have any high chairs).

Yelp
An awesome place to eat, IF YOU HAVE TIME, PATIENCE, AND JUST HAVE A FEW PEOPLE WANTING TO EAT. My girlfriends and I stopped in here for lunch after seeing the charcuterie board on Yelp. The dining area is VERY SMALL. As in, about 10-14 people total inside at a time. We got lucky and got a table right away but we heard several people that the wait could be 30 min to an hour so know you have to be lucky to get in. We split nachos, the charcuterie board, and a salad between the four of us and we could not stop raving about the deliciousness and quality of the food. Everything was done perfectly down to the seasoning and presentation. The duck was absolutely delicious. I had a cider, which was also amazing. We waited a little over an hour for our food but we were visiting and catching up and didn't mind but I could see how that might not work for some people. There was only one server and one person behind the counter making the food, so just know that ahead of time and bring your patience and appetite. Prices were decent for the portion sizes, a little on the high end, but with inflation everything is high now. We would go back if we had lots of time.

Mario B.

Yelp
The nachos are great for two ! And it was so good ! I was heavily considering licking the plate if it was socially acceptable!

Richard F.

Yelp
Food is good...no doubt. The problem here is that they hate people who order food to-go and they make them/you/us pay...literally. We are traveling with our dog and no he's not a service animal so unless there's outdoor dining, we can't eat there. This place looked good, but again with our dog, is a take-out only option. We ordered a Brisket Sandwich, a cured meat sandwich and pork rinds. All very good. But it was $70.00. When I called in to order, I was asked how many items I would be ordering and then had to clear it with the kitchen...it was 7pm on Friday. I get the all clear to order, I order, pick up my food and they've charged me an extra $1 for each to-go item, then they tacked on an 18% service charge...on our to-go food?!?!!! When I asked, I was told that it's automatically added to carry-out food and not to diners that dine in. Wow, that's a load of BS as they are only furthering the decay of "tip-culture" in this country. BTW...I've eaten in a lot of restaurants in my life and I've never seen such a pathetic way to treat your carry-out customers. I guess they hate dogs too.

Art C.

Yelp
So excited about that corn dog. I mean like Pointer SIsters so excited (RIP Anita Pointer). It came out hot and fresh, but sadly it wasn't quite right. The science behind corn dogs requires following certain rules so that the breading doesn't sorta fall off. They didn't get the science right on this one. And it showed... Our charcuterie platter was decent though. But boy I wish they had nailed that corn dog.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious! We waited in line before they opened and it's a good thing we did since it's a small restaurant with a one man kitchen. They had a good selection of locals beers and house cocktails to choose from. We shared the pretzel, it was a decent size with tasty mustard. We also shared the corn dog, very tasty! I had the ciabatta sandwich, I really enjoyed it. I sampled the brisket and the duck grilled cheese. Both were very tasty! I'd definitely recommend stopping here in Cannon Beach for delicious food!

Ash H.

Yelp
Absolutely obsessed with their brisket sandwich. After living in Texas and Georgia for most of my life, I did not expect to find bbq this good in Oregon. Small place so it may take a while to eat, but it's 100% worth it. They cannot take parties of more than six.

Emma G.

Yelp
Awesome place!! Don't let the fact that it a smaller place fool you, they are serving up some incredible craft food. The service was very fast and our service was very attentive. 10/10 recommend

Grace K.

Yelp
Surprisingly amazing meal and great service for dinner in Cannon Beach. I was excepting something average and got something way above average. We got the BBQ pork sandwich, side of coleslaw, pork rinds, and apple cider. All were stellar. The BBQ sandwich had a delicious mix of pulled pork and coleslaw; loved the extra side as well. The apple cider was an amazing mix with it. I had never had pork rinds but they made a great chip to snack on. All were reasonably priced and delicious. I'd recommend all 4! Definitely a place where the food is made with passion and thought.

Daniel S.

Yelp
The brisket sandwich is fantastic, really world class. We had it in Day 1 and ate the whole thing. And went back in Day 2 to get it again; this time we split it and were satisfied. But, the place is small and it feels cramped. So minus one star. Did I mention how good the brisket sandwich was??? Make sure someone in your group gets it.

Issy D.

Yelp
The service was great, we didn't eat food but what we saw others eat looked delicious. The vodka sodas with fresh lime were SUPREME. Best vodka soda I've ever had. The space is really small and I know that frustrates some people, but just be prepared!

Brittani N.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! The place is very small inside so be aware of you are traveling with a large group. Super chill place and had great music playing in the background. The portions are big so definitely share. Lol my favorite were the wings!

Amelia A.

Yelp
Omg the food here was so good it's like jesus christ was in your mouth. Totally coming here again. The server was super nice and chill and restaurant was nicely decorated

Rachel S.

Yelp
We did a day trip to Cannon Beach and went in for lunch. It's pretty small inside, but very accommodating. We brought our 2 small children and they made them a quesadilla which was very nice. Didn't take pictures but food was great. Will have to try more on the menu next time.

Chelsea E.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We found it while waiting for a table at Driftwood and I'm so glad we jumped ship!! My husband got a brisket sandwich and I got pork tacos... superb! Perfectly cooked, nice level of seasoning, high quality. We enjoyed an old fashioned and a house gin and tonic which were outstanding craft cocktails. Great flavor, quality spirits. The service was fantastic and prompt. Our table was lovely and quite intimate. Place is clean and ambiance is so cozy and feels upscale. Love it! Highly recommend.

Christy W.

Yelp
We have a 1.5 year old so sit down restaurants are hard for us. I was planning on trying takeout until I saw the stipulations...I'm genuinely curious why there's a $1 charge per EACH item + automatic 18% gratuity for TAKEOUT orders? Via your website; you only have 4 tables indoors and do not allow reservations....hmm I'll bet you get your good share of take out orders then? I'll agree with other reviewers that this is a very greedy practice ‍ Would love to try if you consider removing those stipulations in the future!

Jill J.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Get the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a side of fries! Enough for two people to share and soooo good!

Kyle A.

Yelp
A true hole in the wall, probably fits 20 people. Our waiter, a kind burly giant, gave us the rundown of their small menu. We got the dirty fries and meat sampler. The dirty fries are legit, real potatoes cut then and there and it's paired perfectly with sauces and meat. The sampler included the best brisket I've ever had in my life (and I've had a lot) - tender, juicy, yet not overly fatty, and the other meats were just as expertly crafted. The whole meal fed 4 'midwestern minded people' on a half empty stomach. Would recommend two samplers for those on a completely empty stomach.

Sean M.

Yelp
The Reuben is really good and I also had a very awesome oatmeal IRA. Strongly recommend.

Trina H.

Yelp
Great little spot just off the busy strip, was perfectly quiet with lots of locals and a few well informed visitors such as myself. Try the boards, of course I recommend the duck board pictured here. I absolutely love brie cheese, fresh oregon pears and duck so I feel like this board was made for me. Three staff were there and every single one was checking on me and making sure I had all I need. Such a great spot!

Mark D.

Yelp
Completely refused to seat party. I understand we were a large party (8). Guests who were leaving offered to give up seats, and were very polite. Host was complete asshole, simply because we had children with us Would recommend actively avoiding, whether on vacation (us), or a local

Mike A.

Yelp
The sign on the door gives a warning that this is a small place, with one cook and one server, so if you mind waiting you may want to look for another place to eat..... Our timing was excellent and we walked right in and were seated at a table for a late lunch in the small but comfortable room. A couple of 2x4 stouts, amber ales, nachos, a Duck, Brie and Pear board, a BBQ pork sandwich and a grilled cheese sandwich later, we relinquished our table to one of several groups waiting in the chilly weather outside. The beer was cold, the food was delicious and the server was amiable. It was a home run.

Gary C.

Yelp
Walked in on a whim and was impressed. We started with the pretzel and cheese sauce (extra) and then the brisket sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. The pretzel is insanely good. Not sure I've ever had one that was so perfectly cooked to order. Brisket was excellent but could use a bit more bbq sauce on the sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was good also, but it was the soft bun really made it. Bloody Mary was a definite score, as was the overall beer selection.

Dustin L.

Yelp
The food is pretty good but definitely not worth the price. I think google/yelp shows "$$", but it's definitely "$$$". Staff didn't seem very genuine/attentive but overall it was a decent experience. My wife and I went for sandwiches and 1 drink, it cost $100.

Terese S.

Yelp
Great cocktails and bar food after a long beach hike! Small inside, but the tables turned quick. Great Bloody Mary.

Michael M.

Yelp
Outstanding BBQ on the Oregon Coast? We did not expect it, but CB Smoke House is some of the best BBQ we've had -- not just on the coast -- but anywhere. We've had the pleasure of enjoying amazing BBQ at places like Distant Relatives (Austin), Franklin BBQ (Austin), R&R BBQ (SLC), etc. and were so pleasantly surprised with the quality of CB Smokehouse. Food (5 out of 5) -- the brisket sandwich is the very best we have had anywhere. To start with the brisket is of exceptional quality and perfectly smoked, but the rest of the sandwich is also just a perfect blend of flavors and textures. It's worth a full listing of the makeup of the sandwich: - Toasted, deliciously fresh sourdough bread - Thick sliced, perfectly chunky, exceptionally smoked, moist brisket - Coleslaw, which I'm not usually a fan of but this was so well seasoned with just the right hint of acid and crunch to balance the rest of the flavors of the sandwich - House made smoked red pepper aioli and BBQ sauce SORRY I should have taken a pic of the sandwich or the charcuterie boards. I was just too busy eating every time we went here. We ordered the duck charcuterie board as well, but they were unfortunately out of the duck. We switched to pork, but they were kind enough to mix it up a bit with some of the cheese and other items we wanted off of the duck board. It was all outstanding. Again, some of the best BBQ we've had. The cottage ham was phenomenal. The toasted baguettes they serve with their boards are perfectly done. The selection of cheese were also excellent and, of course, skewed Oregon. The Rogue Creamery Blue Cheese was such a wonderful treat with their delicious smoked pork and baguettes. Atmosphere (5 out of 5) -- this is a small bar/restaurant with a handful of tables. Getting a table at prime time is definitely a wait, but on our subsequent visits this trip, we just went for early lunch and early dinner. They seem to do booming takeout business as well, which affects wait times for table service as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the small pub atmosphere. Service (5 out of 5) -- we had a different server each time we ate here. All of them were knowledgable, personable and accommodating. We love it when we ask for recommendations and the server takes the time to understand preferences, and then makes outstanding, well informed recommendations. Beer / Cocktails (4 out of 5) -- good, but limited draft beer set of options. The 2x4 oatmeal stout was my favorite. They also make an excellent and interesting gin & tonic, as well as a Bloody Mary. It's not a Jake's (Palm Springs) bloody, but it is a good one. Kudos to the crew at CB Smokehouse for creating a new gem of a place for Cannon Beach!

Michele Q.

Yelp
The food here is so damn good. I had the dirty fries the first time I went and the grilled cheese with ham the second. So yummy! This is hands down my favorite place to eat in Cannon Beach

Nikky R.

Yelp
I was going to order take out but they charge one extra dollar per food item and automatic 18% gratuity.. greediness at its finest.

Carolyn B.

Yelp
My friend and I were in Cannon Beach for a girls vacation and saw the menu for this place and knew we needed to go. We saw beforehand on the website that it's a small location with limited seating and went with appropriate expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised at being seated right away on a Friday night. The food was PHENOMENAL. We got the smoked, dry rubbed wings with the sauces on the side. I could have eaten three more servings, they were so flavorful, and the Carolina BBQ sauce was divine. We wanted the duck, Brie and pear charcuterie board but they were out of the duck, so they subbed it for the brisket, and it was perfection. The Brie was some of the best I've had, the marionberry jam was tart and flavorful, and the mustards were so strong and good! Also, the brisket was some of the best I've had, this place knows their meats!! Service was great. It was one waiter handling it all and he did it with ease and ensured we were all taken care of. All in all - go here. It's a must when you visit Cannon Beach.

Sara D.

Yelp
Highly recommend! I went in on a quiet Wednesday night with my cousin for dinner. We were the only ones in there and given how awesome the food was, I am astonished. It was cozy and comfortable, and the staff were super nice. We order and split the cubano and brisket sandwiches. I would order both again in a heartbeat! Crispy bread, great flavor!

Martians o.

Yelp
Too bad the don't have anyone who knows anything about BBQ. Good beer selection, but 8m afraid if you're craving authenticity, you'll have to drive East, (about 1500 miles).

Kurt P.

Yelp
Very small kitchen (see photo below) + minimal seating = don't go if its busy or you're in a hurry. Food is great, staff is friendly. Had lunch here yesterday, sat at the bar with a good view of the tiny kitchen. Barely room for the cook in there, when the waitstaff have to go through it's tight! Waited about 45 minutes for lunch, and they didn't seem particularly crowded, through there seemed to be a larger group out back. Had a nice IPA while we waited. The corn dog is huge, made from an entire kielbasa - it didn't look real appealing (see photo), but my wife enjoyed it. I had the brisket sandwich came on perfectly grilled/toasted bread. The brisket was good, but not great - not a pronounced smoky aroma. The cole slaw was quite good, it's the creamy style. Prices are a little high, but hey, it's a beach town!

Tim M.

Yelp
This place was truly a hidden gem. I mean, it's kind of on a main street, so maybe not "hidden" in the sense that you can't find it. But hidden in the sense that what they are doing here is well beyond the space they are doing it out of. This place is tiny, like, seriously tiny. There might be 20 seats in this place, maybe. The wife and I took a seat at the central table because they asked us not to take the open 4-top. No problem, don't mind at all. We did have to shift around a bit as other people came in and filled up the bar, it's a tight space so just be ready when you walk in. Let's talk about that menu, shall we? Man, there were so many great items on there that I really wanted to try, but we were so full from eating our way through town already when we spotted this place. So we ordered the cured pork board since we could just take our time and enjoy the various "things" this place is doing. Everything on this board was amazing, excellent flavors and a good sized portion. Given the chance, we will stop back by next time we are in town.

Shane H.

Yelp
We loved this place. We tried it on a decently busy Friday night, it is a small place but they made room for us. Our server was nice the whole time. We wanted to try the turkey but it was the one thing they were out of that night. We tried chicken wings, pulled pork sandwich and pulled pork tacos. All were very good, the pulled pork sandwich could have used more sauce but it was still very delicious. The fries were perfect as well. We will definitely try again.

Claritza B.

Yelp
This restaurant did NOT disappoint! The wait is a while cause it's a super tiny spot with a small kitchen, but let me just say the wait was WORTH IT! I had a yummy stout. I ordered the Hot Honey Garlic wings & I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but those were honestly the BEST wings IVE ever had in my life. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich and he was Very satisfied with his brisket! very very delicious food. I was only visiting for the weekend from LA so I'm sad I won't be going back to this place any time soon I'll be thinking about those wings for a while!! ANYWAYS please try their food!
