Awesome food, service and incredible views , along the canals upstairs in the Venetian, our server was awesome, loved the chips , salsa and guacamole, had the marinated pork but it was more than I could eat , the view of the gondolas was nice to see, hope to be back soon, thank you.

We have been here many years ago and enjoyed the food so decided to come again tonight and we were not disappointed. The apps chips salsa and guacamole was awesome. I ordered the San Luis Chile Relleno and because of my shellfish allergy the sous chef Fernando Alzaga went out of his way to make sure that it would be safe for me to eat. It was amazing I am so happy they were so accommodating for me it was so delicious. The Santa Rosa Barbaco was also very delicious. We also had the Canonita margarita's and were not disappointed. Again a wonderful meal and big shout out to the sous chef and our waitress Laura L who was so great thanks for another great evening.

I must start off by saying the food is way better than the last time I ate here. ! The guacamole had good flavor and the chips were warm and fresh and crispy and the salsa was tasty with a little spice! I had the braised beef enchiladas, they had good flavor and the black beans were good and the cilantro rice had good flavor as well! Our server was very nice and courteous! Cheers to the new cooks for adding better flavor to the food 😋

First I want to say our server Bryan was amazing! The food was good but there were a couple of issues. I ordered the Carne Rancheros but I wanted the peppers on the side. They didn’t put them on the side. They were still in the food. I sometimes have a problem with peppers being too spicy but luckily I was able to handle them. However, the steak was TOO TOUGH. It took forever to chew. Just awful. My husband ordered the chicken burrito with no beans. Guess what…. Beans were included. Luckily they were on the side and not in the burrito. Our seats were amazing looking over the canal. They just need to pay attention to the food requests.

We tried this place on a whim and it ended up being delicious! It also didn’t hurt that we were seated overlooking the canal, so we had a great view. The food was not your average Mexican food which was a pleasant surprise. I got the chile relleno and it was the best I’ve ever had!

This place was incredible for our stay at the Venetian. I ate here twice. I got the chicken enchiladas the first time. And the chicken quesadilla the second time. Both were on par with some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The green rice was probably my favorite part. The service was also incredible. Our hostess Larissa said she was new but took care of our huge table with perfection, patience and kindness. We were a little worried about how the happy hour drinks were going to taste because they were so cheap but everyone loved them. I would recommend sitting at a table next to the canal because I loved the sound and look of running water while I was eating. However some of our party didn't like listening to the singing while we ate. So it depends on who you are. I will make a point to come back to this place even if I'm not staying at the Venetian.

Good food, service, and atmosphere. Try the Monday happy hour carne asada steak torta. Drink are yummy. Chips and salsa are $5, but refills are only 50 cents.

In A Nutshell: -Wow, I was pretty surprised at how great dining at Canonita is. -I was expecting a normal Mexican restaurant, but the first thing that makes this place standout is that it's a CDMX (aka Mexico City) style restaurant. -The quality of the food is top shelf. -I enjoyed a couple of their seafood dishes (appetizer & main course). -Each one came out piping out w/ plenty of mussels, clams, fish, octopus is very tasty sauces that you can soak up w/ toasted bread. -My buddy ordered their skirt steak, which was phenomenal as well. -If you enjoy margaritas, they have a nice selection of them. -We tried their margarita flight (classic, pineapple, jalapeno or roasted rooster). -I really enjoyed the pineapple margarita the best. -The service is very friendly & efficient, plus they know how to recommend the right dishes. Overall, I totally recommend this Mexican restaurant b/c it's not your typical Mexican restaurant. Having that CDMX flair really represents the capital of Mexico very well, it's like eating in Condesa but in Vegas.
