Where To Eat And Drink With Your Coworkers Because Team Bonding Has Taken Over Your Life

"Building security figured out that you’ve been propping the roof access door open with a La Croix can, so now if you want to enjoy the fresh air at high altitude, it’s going to have to be somewhere else. Shrug off the shame of getting caught by going to Everdene in the Virgin Hotel. This place is bigger than most rooftop bars in the city, so your whole team can fit. Plus, it’s got great city views and is in SoMa, so you won’t have to go far to get here." - will kamensky

Everdene Review - Soma - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Spacemen were the first to figure out that the higher up you are, the less you have to worry about anything on the ground. But instead of making space travel accessible to people who want to relax and have a fun weekend, people started building rooftop bars instead, and Everdene on top of the Virgin Hotel is the newest one in San Francisco. The majority of the space is covered by a roof that, combined with the glass-panel railings, does a good job stopping the wind from whipping 12 stories above ground, which isn’t the most ideal thing to deal with while you’re trying to enjoy a cocktail and a charcuterie board from their small menu. When it’s sunny, you can step out from under cover and sit at one of the spots running along the edge of the rooftop. Though if you can’t find a seat, there are plenty of high-tops and small tables to put your drinks down if you just want to stand in the sun and take in the views from high above Yerba Buena Park." - Will Kamensky

I had a great stay at the Canopy Hotel in San Francisco! The vibe of the place was super modern and welcoming. Customer service was on point the guy working up front was friendly and helpful. It's located right on Market Street, so everything was super walkable, which made exploring the city really convenient. My friend and I were there for the giants game on Sunday so perfect location ! Our room had a scenic view, which was a nice bonus, and the rooftop bar was beautiful—definitely a highlight! The food there was decent (I'd give it an 8/10), but for the price, I expected a little better. Some of it came out undercooked, which was a bit disappointing I also let the cook know and he appreciated the feed back. The music they played was a little of house music and hip hop so that was nice . Also, they didn’t have valet service when we asked, which would’ve been helpful. Overall though, I’d still recommend it for the location, vibe, and service. Would stay again!

Hilton has always been one of my favorite hotel chains, and when I pay high prices, I expect a matching experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. The best part: the staff. From check-in, they were friendly, empathetic, and professional—very different from the cold service I’ve experienced at other Hiltons. In that sense, they deserve full credit. But what made me uncomfortable was the lack of cleanliness. The room was full of dust—on the lamps, in the corners, behind the bed. When I opened the curtains, so much dust came out that I had to leave the room just to breathe. This isn’t a minor issue: it affects your health and shows serious neglect. The hotel looks modern and nice on the outside. With proper cleaning, it could be truly premium. But as it stands now, it doesn’t live up to the price. It’s a shame, because the staff does a great job, but the hygiene simply doesn’t match.

What’s great about this hotel is the rooftop bar/restaurant has great views and pretty good food for Hilton. The decor is cool. The location is convenient to various parts of San Francisco. Now here it’s bad. It’s valet parking. Only $75 for regular cars $85 for SUVs or bigger. And it took me 1/2 of an hour. ||That’s 30 minutes to get my car on a Sunday afternoon when the hotel was not crowded there were not people checking in or checking out. There were two valets on duty at the . the hotel manager had to call to get them to expidite my car. Secondly, I guess there’s a severe labor shortage in San Francisco because the restaurant was woefully understaffed two of the times I was there. Including the poor bus boy having to do the job of what was obviously supposed to be at least three people at breakfast.||As in taking people‘s orders, cleaning the tables acting as bartender, seating people, etc. there was literally one front of the house person in a room full of 15 tables. By the way, I’m Hilton diamond not that that should matter, but I found this to be poor service.

Google
Great location if you want to see a game or concert at Chase Center. Super easy to take the T there. The room was adorable. The shower was great. The bed was comfortable. My ONLY complaints were that the walls are thin and rooms facing the street can be noisy. Luckily, we didn’t have noisy neighbors just one person on a loud work call early in the morning. Would def recommend.

Google
if you like smelling the bowel movements of the person you go with because there's no ventilation in the room, this hotel is the perfect place for you! if you want to be gaslit about not having hand soap in your room, this is the perfect place for you! the dim lighting was nice though.

The location is good as close to the conference venue. The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast included $ 30 credit only but the breakfast in the rooftop restaurant are good. Just when you check out you need to double check did they count the credit and did they wrongly charge the original price of the breakfast. The staff are helpful but just feel disappointed I need to work extra to email the hotel to get back the refund.

This Canopy by Hilton is in a convenient location. Close to Union Square and not too far from North Beach. It is new and clean. Customer service was excellent for us during our stay. The roof top restaurant-bar had fantastic city views and good service. The rooms were user friendly with a modern vibe. Parking is a bit pricey if you bring your vehicle. Best way to get around from this location is to walk or take ride share. Would highly recommend this Hilton location, and would stay there again for sure.

Google
From an online perspective this looked like a great place, I’ve stayed at other Canopy locations in other cities and really loved it, but sadly in reality this SF location is really just “OK”. it’s modern but bathrooms and showers felt a bit rundown and dirty, the rooms felt much smaller in reality than what is shown online, the neighborhood is a bit dicey with a lot of questionable activity directly outside of the building, the evening front desk staff that greeted us check in was a bit frantic and neurotic. The big take away: this location is totally OK if you are here on business, but not a relaxing or peaceful place for a long vacation.

Yelp
Nice hotel. The room was small and weirdly configured but it mostly worked. I'm tempted to go with only four stars because of how awkward the furniture was but, like I said, it kind of worked. Get a room on a high floor at the front of the hotel. You'll have a nice view of Yerba Buena Garden. The staff were super friendly and courteous. I felt welcomed each time I returned to the hotel. The food at Shelby's Rooftop Bar was delicious. You can find my review on Yelp! The food at Bean Bar was pretty good. It's too bad they don't serve lunch anymore. Oh. Also, don't drink the toilet water! lol. (See photo.)

Yelp
So very disappointed with my stay here. For several reasons: 1) I'm a Diamond Member, and was offered to upgrade my room a couple days before check in. I confirmed it with the hotel two days before I checked in. Upon check in, I was given a different room, smaller than what I originally had booked. The front desk would do nothing to rectify the situation, even with my proof of the conversation I had with them the day before. 2) The valet service is wrongly advertised. They take your car around the block to an unsecured parking lot that charges 1/3 the rate of the hotel, to park there yourself. We witnessed cars parked out front of the hotel for well over an hour before being taken by valet. This is a total SCAM. 3) I am a tech savvy person and have never had an issue plugging an HDMI cable into the TV at a Hilton property to watch my own TV. This hotel has completely rigged the TV's to only allow their limited and glitchy channels offered through DirectTV. I asked the front desk and they confirmed that there was nothing I could do. 4) On the second night of our stay, a group of loud partiers moved into the room next to ours. After an hour of listening to their music blasting through the wall, we called the front desk. They acted nice but wouldn't actually do anything about the nuisance. This completely ruined our stay. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel. For being newer/recently built...I expected much more. But their amenities are very sub-par and the services are terrible compared to any Hilton. I don't know what happened here.

Yelp
The low rating is specifically for Ayla, a woman working at the front desk. Unfortunately, her poor customer service tainted our entire stay. Ayla was unprofessional while working, not just with us but with other guests staying as well. She had a bad attitude and demonstrated no professionalism. When asked questions we had about our stay she was not helpful but rather dismissive and careless. Very unfortunate that one persons behavior and attitude can ruin the hotels experience. I would like to thank Rogelio and a young woman's name who I did not catch (Latina I believe). They went above and beyond with their customer service. Also, the room we stayed in was facing a street that had trash picked up at early in the morning, so every morning we were woken up by loud obnoxious noise. Lastly! The hotel will charge you an additional $30 destination fee which they do not mention until you show up to check in. This fee is applied every night you stay, so it will add up.

Yelp
Pros: Location, friendliness, cleanliness. Cons: NO ROOM SERVICE, bedding is mediocre, rooms are small Stayed here for two nights for a business trip. First impression Pleasant welcome and modern decor. I was very shocked and disappointed when I found out there was no room service. When you just landed from a flight and you're on a tight schedule, the last thing you want to do is leave your room to get in line at a café or go up to the rooftop to order and pick up dinner. If I would've known that, I would not have stayed there. The stay itself was reasonable, but considering the prices you would think that there would be premium bedding from Hilton. It was very basic. It was conveniently located down the street from Moscone. I'd say the only reason I would go back is to go and hang out at the rooftop.

Yelp
Reviewing the hotel lobby area and the first floor for first impressions only as this cute boutique hotel, Canopy by Hilton with a doorman housed Shelby's Rooftop Lounge, a fun cocktail gathering place we recently visited. Unless you are staying at the hotel as a guest, to get to the rooftop lounge, you will need the front desk person to tag the elevator as it won't move without a guest card. The aesthetics of the lobby is lovely with their own restaurant/bar (closed at the time of our visit) and a library with comfy sofas. Service seems professional and cordial.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Hilton Hotels I've ever stayed in and that's saying a lot because I'm Diamond and have stayed at well over 100 Hilton's. I'll just got through what make it stand out. Check in was excellent with nice, attentive employees, great customer service. The breakfast bar called Bean Bar is this trendy library feel cozy spot with fun seating and lots to look at, and I enjoyed my coffee and Pastries as well as freshly squeezed Orange juice. A huge highlight is Shelby's Rooftop Lounge on the 12th floor. Beautiful views of the city and Salesforce tower lit up at night. Enjoyed cocktails, fried and sliders up there and it was open until midnight. The waitress was very friendly and took pictures of my group. Loved it. The bed and pillows were new and very comfortable and I had great sleeps both nights I was here. Small room but big shower and views of the city. Also a cool red fridge and unique red doors throughout the property. Pricing was reasonable, especially for the location and views and I'd definitely come again. 5 stars.

Yelp
Nice hotel!! Staff was extremely nice and they upgraded my room to match my friends room, who has Hilton perks. The room was a mix of Retro and Modern. Very neat and comfortable. First floor lounge and bar reminded me of the Continental on the movie John Wick. It was awesome and very sophisticated. There was also a rooftop bar which stayed open late. I would definitely come to stay again.

Yelp
Check your bill. I read the multiple.other complaints about this hotel regarding deceptive billing. They offer a $30 credit to offse thr destination fee in addition to the diamond credit. I received neither credit and have already had about 6 phone calls and 3 unanswered emails regarding my $66 credit. Check your bill or better yet don't stay here. I have stayed at so many other Hilton properties with no issues but this property is the worst property I've ever encountered

Yelp
They canceled my brother's confirmed reservation after we bought plane tickets and made all trip plans. Tried to find a resolution but they are disrespectful. I do not recommend this hotel, they might cancel your reservation anytime if they can sell your room for higher rate to someonelse. Its a big NO NO!

Yelp
We are Hilton Gold and I can say this is the best Hilton hotel in San Francisco. The rooms are on the smaller side (which is common in San Francisco), very clean, with a lovely modern design/furnishing. Love the Nespresso coffee available in the room. The personnel at the front desk including the manager were very friendly, helpful, and professional. The rooftop bar has amazing views, cocktails, and music. The cafe on the ground floor has amazing coffee and a simple but delicious menu offerings for breakfast and lunch . The location is fantastic if you want to explore SOMA and Union Square. We can't wait to go back and highly recommend Canopy.

Yelp
Paid almost $800 for this room for the aggressive host to deny my girlfriend a fork. They told her she our room didn't pay incidental fee even though it charged to my card at check out, I showed Nikki. Night host aggressively approached me from behind his desk and tried to strong arm me to my rooms Nd called security because I asked him where the f* our fork. I'll post a comment here after I talk with the manager tmrw

Yelp
Caution!! This hotel values profits over customers, even loyal Diamond members. My colleagues and I made reservations a YEAR in advance for a large conference event in May 2024. The hotel allowed a large booking a few, months before the event and notified us in February that they were canceling our reservations and moving us to the Hampton Inn. A significant downgrade in quality AND the Hampton Inn is in the Tenderloin; not the safest part of San Francisco. The hotel management refused to do anything; they would not honor our reservations, they would not put us in a nicer hotel, they offered no points, no cash award...nothing. Several of us contacted the Diamond desk and surprisingly they did nothing as well. They said the property was following policy. Loyal diamond members with reservations made a year in advance, kicked to the curb for a higher nightly rate, with no other recompense or compensation. I am shocked at this treatment by the Canopy SOMA and by the Diamond desk. Canopy SOMA and Hilton, you should be ashamed. After many, many years, you have lost a loyal customer; my business will go to Mariott now.

Yelp
This was one of the most beautiful rooftops I've been to in SF. It's wasn't too crazily over crowded and the drinks and food were good too.
google avatar

Nyla K.

Yelp
This review is for the rooftop bar/restaurant only. I tried searching for the place but couldn't find it. We followed the girl at the front desk to the elevator and got in and a few minutes later we were at the top floor. Rooftop bars are become a bit more common in SF and I am here for it. We opted for a seat outside to enjoy the brisk air and the view was amazing. We've been here before when it was the virgin hotel and missed this view. We got a couple drinks and as we closed out the waiter kindly advised us that on the weekends there is a live dj. I'd come back for that for sure. Cocktails are average price and staff were very friendly. And best of all the new T line is right next door so very easily accessible!

Yelp
Great location in SOMA; great view; affordable rate for SF; great great great rooftop bar which can be cold on some nights in SF but the food is outstanding even by SF standards and prices reasonable (for SF) and portions adequate, if not generous; room worked, even if the lighting system was wonky; I like the exclusive shower and separate toilet space.

Yelp
Just got home from a 4 days/3 night stay. First of all, let me say that my husband and I are Hilton Diamond and we've stayed in a few of the Hiltons in San Francisco. This by far is my new favorite! It's located in a quieter area (the last two times we stayed in Union Square which was really busy). There is a lot to do within walking distance. We were told it used to be a Virgin Hotel and you can see not much was changed. The hotel is smaller with a beautiful lobby. The downstairs restaurant was not open but they plan on reopening soon we were told. The attached coffee shop was perfect for breakfast or snacks. I got a latte every morning and it was delicious! I would go there even if I wasn't staying in the hotel! The staff was warm and friendly. They greeted us every time we left and returned. The room was smaller than the Union Square Hilton properties but well thought out. Plenty of storage that kept the room looking neat and not cluttered. The table and bench that had plenty of outlets and USB ports was a perfect work area for husband who had to get some work done while we were there. There was a small refrigerator and a Nespresso machine (which was a BIG plus since it was just like the one we have at home). The view from our floor to ceiling window was stunning. The black out shades really blacked out the room which we appreciated. The shower was enormous with dual rain shower head and hand held wand. I think our favorite feature though was the water station right outside our room where we could fill our glass bottle that was provided every day. Such a smart and simple feature! I don't know why more hotels don't have these. I could also fill my Hydroflask every day. So much better than plastic water bottles!! Toiletries were also large refillable sizes which also is eco conscious. These types of things tell me that this hotel is concerned about the environment. The gym, which we went to 3 of the 4 mornings, was on the 2nd floor. It was small, but had some good machines and weights and I was able to get a good workout in. Another amenity that I forgot to mention that was in the room but falls under the fitness category was a yoga mat. I thought that was really nice. One last thing-when we checked in our air conditioner wasn't working and our room was sweltering. I called the front desk and they sent James, the head technician up within minutes. He was able to fix it and our room stayed at a comfortable temperature for the entire stay. He was so nice and told us to make sure we checked out the Rooftop Bar at sunset. Wow-what a great recommendation! The view was stunning, the drinks were yummy and the service was good! Everything about this hotel and their staff was first class! Can't wait till we go back.

Yelp
The two stars is for the location only. That's the upside. It's close by lots of museums, restaurants and shopping. Everything else about the stay was lackluster and unimpressive. We planned this trip for the week of New Year's Eve to bring in the new year, but the quality of service put a damper on our experience. Our room was not properly cleaned. There was hair & dirt on the shower floor & didn't even have the set of robes and slippers per guest as advertised. Our room was on the 10th floor and the entire floor smelled of sewage for the duration of our stay. On our 2nd day, there was a maintenance worker who seemed to be working on the issue but the sour sewage smell filled the hallways again after he left. The hotel site mentions a restaurant called The Social and even shows pictures and hours of operation for dining. This was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. However, this is apparently false advertising because this is not open or available. When we asked a woman at the front desk about it she said it wouldn't be open for a few months and seemed uninformed about it being shown on the hotel website. When booking, you are strongly encouraged to use their valet due to "theft" in the area but the valet personnel were understaffed. It took at least 30 mins to retrieve your vehicle. While waiting, we encountered other guests who had been waiting for over an hour. On the last day, we requested our vehicle to head to the airport for my flight and the valet wait was so long that we (along with another guest) insisted on retrieving our own vehicle. The valet attendant then drove two guests to the parking garage in another guests vehicle. Only to find out that the nearby parking garage being used by the hotel has signs posted for a $35/day rate when they charge $70/day. When I asked the front desk clerk, Rogelio, about the wait and how it was unacceptable he responded with "That's out of my control." It wasn't until I informed him of how unprofessional the service and his behavior was that he apologized and stated he would "learn from this."

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations! The hotel was so nice! Friendly staff, clean and beautiful room. Plenty of mirrors, for women traveling together and needing to get ready at the same time. My daughter and I stayed here for the Madonna concert and to celebrate her 21st bday. Our beds were big and comfy, the bathroom was nice and how they spaced everything out was genius! The shower is big enough for 4 people, the rain fall shower head was wonderful! There were plenty of shelves and hanging spaces for all of our stuff. The rooftop bar was incredible! The atmosphere and mood were amazing! We had a clear but cool night to enjoy a cocktail before the show. Highly recommend Casey's Punch...yum! There are plenty of heaters to keep you cozy while you enjoy the incredible view. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Im here in San Francisco for one night. This hotel is located on 4th street between Folsom and Howard across from Yorba Buena public Square. Just South of Market street. Great location. Lots of things within walking distance. The rooms are lovely. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel staff is friendly and accomodating. There is a restaurant on the rooftop and a restraunrant in the hotel lobby. I had breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby. I had the 2-eggwhite frittata with asparagus goat cheese and bell peppers. Not bad with a little salt. It came with potatoes and toast for $21. They offer specialty coffees. I enjoyed my (very quick) stay.

Yelp
Great place to stay if you're going to the giants game. It's just opened this year so it's sparkly new. Great eclectic vibe with a friendly staff. We all thought the beds were so comfortable. Would stay here again.

Yelp
Night Fever: Fantastic place for a mid peninsula escape. Living in the peninsula, I have been looking for a place that has good music, food, drinks and views while still being open till later in the evening for some grown up fun. The ambiance at Canopy Hilton is extraordinary as are the people you may meet or bring here. International vibe that takes you elsewhere in the World.

Yelp
Delicious food, great drinks and that view is amazing. Service was great. Ruben took good care of us. Bilal was very welcoming.

Yelp
Very close, but not perfect, ticks most of the boxes. First, the good: Great city location. Offbeat Asian modern decor that really worked. We had a corner room with amazing views, auto shades to block light from the full height windows with 9 ft ceilings, comfortable bed, great pillows, cozy robes, large walk-in shower with dual heads, etc. Good Nespresso machine, filtered water and ice just down the hall. The rooftop restaurant has super views and a good vibe. Now the reasons I gave Canopy 4 stars: the shower only allows one spray head at a time to dispense water, which I understand due to droughtish conditions. HOWEVER, the constant cycling between warm and really hot water was annoying and uncomfortable, and I am a hot shower person. What is the point of an great shower with a marble seat if you have to stay on your toes to avoid parboiling? Allow 15 minutes for the valet to get your vehicle, and don't forget to factor in the $75/night parking charge (which I probably wouldn't have mentioned except I was already miffed at the 3rd degree burns...). Finally, the rooftop restaurant was very windy cold on a WARM SF day (more heaters please), food was only Ho-hum, and I really wanted it to rock! If you can handle dancing in and out of the water in the shower, the Canopy may just be your huckleberry. And did I mention we loved the decor?

Yelp
What a nice addition to the Hilton umbrella. This place rocks, super nice rooftop bar, downstairs coffee shop and bar, rooms are super unique and have great views. I'm lifetime diamond and they rolled the red carpet out for me, thank you for that. Pricey but worth it over the hiltons in SF.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood! This new Hilton boutique concept (Canopy) takes the place of the Virgin Hotel, following a bitter legal battle with the building owner. So far, not much has changed (which is a good thing). So far, Hilton has done a filling filling these big shoes! They've already reopened the rooftop bar and coffee shop (formerly Funny Library, TBD if they'll keep the name). Conveniently located next to the Moscone Center, great for conference goers. The neighborhood is still recovering from the pandemic, but includes a lot of restaurants and bars, and close proximity to downtown, Union Square, and the financial district. Room rates are surprisingly expensive given the hotel just opened and is almost completely vacant - $300/night, with suites for $750+. I strongly dislike that they charge a $30/day "Daily Mandatory Destination Charge." Lots of hotels do this, and I'm a firm believer that it is deceptive and should be included in the room mate. According to Hilton, this fee include: premium internet access (which is always free anyway), a daily $30 food and beverage credit (great if you can use it, but if you're staying here, you probably are either eating at a conference or want to check out the awesome local restaurants), and a $25 credit to Tower Tours (great if you actually use it every day, but unlikely you'll find more than one day free to go on a tour.) Tour Tours offers local bus tours, visits to Muir Woods, and several wine tours. I would normally remove 1-2 stars for this, but want to be generous as this is their first week in operation (and I'm not optimistic my single review will change years of deceptive pricing by the hotel industry). Pets up to 30 lbs are allowed - but there's a steep $125 non-refundable cleaning fee. Parking is expensive, but that's common for this neighborhood - $69/night for valet parking. Includes in/out privileges. Street parking is not recommended due to (a) frequent break ins and (b) complex street sweeping and meter policies. (Visitors, please remember to remove *everything* from your car. If you park with a suitcase, backpack, or other bag visible, it will be stolen and your glass window will be shattered.) There are a couple nearby lots for the convention center that are much cheaper if you're willing to walk a block or two. The hotel features a nice fitness center, meeting rooms, business center, on-site restaurant, and concierge.

Hotel is great there still having issues with employees so everything is not running smooth! Plan on eating else-wear the menu and food is not good they need a good Chef and food director

Yelp
We loved our room and the sheets on the bed!! Slept so great, the bed changed the standard in our home. The rooftop bar and lounge was fun and the staff was super cool and accommodating. Living an hour away from the city, we look forward to coming back! We found our new go-to hotel!

Yelp
If you're trying to go to Shelby's Rooftop Bar or stay the night there, make sure you're not black because if you are, the woman that works at the front desk who's dressed in a black blazer and about 4'11 Asian with a manly haircut, will not only escort you to the elevator but will escort you to the Rooftop wait with you until you get your table bc she's a racist b@#$$. She did exactly that to me and my other half. I can't believe she dared to wait with us. I've been to many upscale hotels, and they have never treated us like that. I have never been escorted to my destination, the elevator sure, that's their job, especially if they have to scan their card, but they never waited on me to be seated. This was completely unprofessional and out of pocket. We ended up leaving Shelby's because my mood completely shifted, and I didn't want to be there spending our hard-earned money. I contacted corporate regarding this incident, so let's see what they will do about it. I don't stand behind racist people. We are all human beings, no matter our religion or race. If you're a person of color, this hotel will not welcome you. BEAWARE!

Yelp
My friend and I were upstairs at Shelby's rooftop and came downstairs and saw the bar so we decided to sit. The bartenders were soo friendly!! Turtle was amazing and made some great drinks. There was another woman who relieved him for break and she was very informational about alcohol and it was a great experience!

Yelp
Very much enjoyed my stay here! Great experience and nice staff. Also very clean. Oscar head of housekeep was also great and helpful. Will be staying here again when visiting the city.

Yelp
Great location, knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff. Nikki at the front desk is amazing. We have stayed at Hilton everywhere. We have been traveling for 5 years now. This was the best experience. They are relatively new, as of today, at this location. Room was very clean and has nice amenities. Very highly recommend. Thank you Nikki!

Yelp
Newer hotel. It was nice and they were accommodating. The rooftop bar was nice and the folks were attentive.

Yelp
The room was modern and clean, but I never saw so many taxes on my charge. I knew there will be a destination fee ($30), but 4 additional taxes related to that fee were added. The room charge had another 4 different types of taxes, which is not surprising. And the valet parking had also tax, which was nearly $10/day (the valet parking itself was close to $100). So, each day, you need to pay 9 kinds of taxes (8 if you avoid the valet parking). I stayed in SF 3 times before and never experienced this. Is this typical to stay at SF hotels these days?

Yelp
Rooms are terribly small, overpriced, and resort fees. Worst hotel experience. Go to another hotel if you're staying in San Francisco.

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautiful weekend at this new hotel. The valet was very efficient. The front desk staff was very courteous and welcoming. My Hilton Diamond status was recognized and we were given all the benefits. The room was beautiful and spotless with full glass views of the city. I read some of the previous negative reviews, but I can honestly say this hotel met all our expectations. We will definitely stay at this modern contemporary hotel when we visit San Francisco again.
