The Best Dim Sum Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Canton House expanded in 2024 with the opening of a second location in Duluth. Their beautifully decorated interior, white marble floors, and chandeliers rival the elegance of Royal China down the road, ranging from a lavish event hall for weddings and special events, a spacious dining room for regular diners, to more intimate private dining rooms. It is a stark contrast to the original location in Chamblee, which was smaller in size. Canton House offers specialties such as salted egg lava baos, rice noodle rolls, and a variety of siu mai, all made in-house. Supplement the meal with any items on the Cantonese/Vietnamese menu, like salted fish and diced chicken fried rice or water spinach stir-fry with garlic. Open daily. Carts roll from opening until 3 p.m., after which dim sum is available all day via the menu." - Candy Hom

Ah yes! Dim sum and then some. For Georgia, this isn’t a bad spot for dim sum and it’s all day! The food was actually pretty delicious. We ordered tons dim sum dishes none of them disappointed. Only thing I’d say is the sesame balls were a bit too hard or crunchy but it still tasted delicious nonetheless. If I’m in town again, This is one spot I’d try again. Service was really good! They tended to us despite how busy they were. This place is great for small or large parties. At the time we went there was a wedding going on. It was still a good time. Till then, let’s eat!

Came during lunch on a Sunday. Food was very good and we really enjoyed it! The chicken feet was great as always and the calamari was amazing! It got a little busier as more people arrived for lunch and it started taking longer for the carts to come around to our side. It gave a good resting period between plates but there were times where we waited for a long time before a cart headed our way.

This was the first time I've been to this new location. I was immediately greeted at the front desk as soon as I had walked in, so that was nice. Also, I didn't even have to wait more than 2 minutes before I was seated. The interior is sleek, modern, and spacious. I find myself relaxing and enjoying the ambiance of the space. I can see why people would want to rent the venue for various functions such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events, quincenera, or private parties. There is enough space for that. They pretty much have everything you would need to hold any event you want like a big screen, lighting, seating and staff. I am not a dimsum expert by any means, but I thought all the ones I ate were delicious. The food tasted fresh to me. The service was great. The staff was attentive. They were friendly and efficient. I can not complain about them at all. If you are looking for good food, ambiance, and service, go check them out.

Google
Canton House Restaurant and Event Hall offers a modern, clean, and inviting atmosphere that immediately impresses. The newly built venue has a sleek, contemporary look, making it an excellent choice for events or casual dining. The atmosphere and venue deserve a full 5 stars. The food, however, was a bit underwhelming. For such a large and impressive venue, I expected the dim sum to be exceptional, but it was just average. Some dishes were enjoyable, but overall, it didn’t quite meet expectations, earning it a 3-star rating. Service was also middle-of-the-road. The staff were polite, but the experience felt a bit uncoordinated at times, which detracted from the meal. Again, a 3-star rating feels fair here. Overall, while the atmosphere is top-notch, the food and service leave room for improvement. It’s worth visiting for the ambiance, but I’d hope for better in the future.

Wow is an understatement! The food here is spectacular. Despite having a huge wedding venue to tend to the service was wonderful! We will definitely be making a return visit!

Google
The interior is state-of-the-art and super clean inside and out. However, the flavor of the food is just so-so, possibly because they don't use MSG. The price is okay. It's a good place to have an afterparty, birthday party, or any other gathering events.

Google
Canton House is an absolute gem! The service here is outstanding—the staff is attentive and friendly, making sure every guest feels taken care of. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which adds a personal touch to the dining experience. The food is delicious, with every dish full of authentic flavors and perfectly prepared. One of the highlights is their private party room, which is perfect for larger gatherings. It comes equipped with karaoke and a sound system, so you can enjoy music and singing while dining—such a fun and unique touch!

Google
excellent five star Chinese restaurant! Service was so accommodating for my elderly parents and the cleanliness, glamor, and sophisticated decor made our event fantastic!

Yelp
I had a fantastic dining experience here! The service was excellent--our server was very friendly and attentive. The interior is absolutely stunning. The restaurant is huge, with multiple rooms for private dining and events, making it a great spot for any occasion. As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious and high quality. We enjoyed every dish, and I highly recommend trying the egg custard pastry for dessert--it was amazing! I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
A friend and I went for an early dinner on the Friday night after the Lunar New Year of the Snake started. I wanted to celebrate by having great food. I had been to a wedding anniversary banquet in December and had been impressed with the selection of dishes, so I thought this would be a nice place to celebrate the New Year. I ordered the steamed sea bass, gailan with garlic sauce, yang chow fried rice, seafood pan fried noodles and chicken corn soup for the two of us. My friend probably would have ordered a regular dish she likes, but I suggested I do the ordering for us as I don't think she would have picked some traditional dishes. Once ordered, the food came out fairly soon after the soup was served. As these were all Cantonese dishes, there wasn't any spiciness other than the chili oil on the table. My friend can't eat spicy, but I do, so it was just right for her and I added my chili oil/sauce. Our waiter was Dennis who I had recognized from the banquet in December. He was friendly and attentive. Other wait staff stopped by to clear dishes as needed or to check if we needed anything when Dennis was taking care of other tables. I was surprised to find out that this was Dennis' last night as he was going to help start up a Vietnamese restaurant in the City Market formerly Assi Plaza. We told him we'd see him at the new place. My friend and I finished our meal with the mango mochi from the dim sum menu. They were so good! Light, warm and oozing with mango custard. Just enough to finish up the meal. I thought the restaurant would be packed for a Friday night and the holiday week, but it wasn't. It made it easy to talk and not feel rushed to turn the table over for more guests. Definitely will be back. I always went to the Buford Hwy location for dim sum, but the Duluth location is so much closer and there's plenty of parking, so this may be a preferred location.

Yelp
I had so much high expectations for Canton House. We went here for dinner. They also offered dimsum at all hours but it takes bit longer to make. We ordered family style dinner including steamed sea bass, peking duck 2 courses, wonton soup, salt egg yolk shrimp, salted egg yolk spare ribs, yeah we love salted egg yolk stuff haha, and snow pea with crabmeats, panfried noodles, and stir fry steak in red wine sauce. Everything was salty except the steamed sea bass and the duck. I have no idea what the chef was smoking. But everything was so salty we basically have to get extra white rice to go with everything.

Yelp
It's pretty busy, and I'm not sure if it's because of the holiday season or if they get this much business normally for their dim sum. It's a big space that fits many people, so it's good for families. They even have private rooms if that's preferable for bigger groups. We were a group of 7, and someone had arrived earlier to start our wait for a table. By the time we were seated, we were asked and served tea pretty quickly and could start ordering food. For the most part, we did get food from the carts and only ordered a beef chow fun, which was pretty good though heavy on the onion for some. The dim sum was ok. Steamed items like ha gao and siu mai were as expected. It would be strange, and bad, if they messed up on either of them. The lo mai fan (sticky rice) and beef tripe were pretty good as well. The chicken feet was bright red and alright in flavor. It was a little sweet, and I would've liked a stronger black bean taste and some spice. From there, the rest of their dim sum offerings that we got weren't great. All their fried items were cold. Makes sense because the carts make their rounds, but we weren't pleased with other items being cold like lo bak go (turnip cake). If you want to try dim sum, it's not a bad experience to have it here, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I may get same or better if I tried somewhere else. It was very interesting to see bubble tea being pushed in the carts though. Not worth getting a drink you can't specify to your liking.

Yelp
Canton House hosted our group holiday party. Beautiful banquet hall and restaurant with high tech audio visual equipment to make any party extra special. Best of all, Peter snd Kam were so attentive and caring to make sure we had a great experience! Service was on point. Peter helped create a varied menu for our group that everyone seemed to enjoy very much. The food looked great and was good, but overall not as good as their Buford Hwy location. Still very enjoyable, especially the seafood soup, honey walnut Shrimp, and fried sole with ginger scallion.

Yelp
**November 3, 2024** I dined at Canton House Restaurant and Event Hall, which is fairly new and under the same ownership as the original Canton House on Buford Highway. Located in Duluth, it offers ample parking. The restaurant is spacious, featuring modern decor that's both stylish and inviting. I was seated quickly since I arrived right when they opened, but the food carts started coming out slowly. We ordered a variety of traditional dishes: shrimp shu mai, shrimp dumplings, chicken feet, shrimp rice rolls, and shrimp paste rolls with crab claw. The shrimp shu mai had a tender wrapper but lacked the flavor punch I expected. The shrimp dumplings were delicate, with good flavor. The chicken feet were cooked well and taste good. The shrimp rice rolls were soft and slightly chewy, but again, they didn't quite reach the level of the original location. Finally, the shrimp paste rolls in crab claw were kinda soft rather than crispy. Overall, the food was just okay. The service was good, and I must say, the restaurant itself is stunning and very clean.

Yelp
I dined at Canton House on Sunday, November 3, 2024 shortly after they opened. I was impressed by the overall aesthetics and size of the restaurant upon walking through the grandiose lobby area. Everything looked so clean and shiny. There was the large main dining area where I was seated, but there were also smaller private dining rooms available for private events if anyone is looking for a place to host any event (parties, wedding receptions, anniversaries, etc). The lighting however is all white LEDs, which made the restaurant feel like a hospital or school. The dim sum was pretty good. The carts did take a while to come out because I was seated within a couple minutes after opening. But all the staple dim sum dishes that I expected did come out. As far as taste and overall presentation goes, I think they were better than the first location. I would expect the food quality to be better because of how new this restaurant is. The shrimp dumplings and fried shrimp balls were my favorites and tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Everything from the steam cart tasted good. I think the service was nice, but could be more attentive. It took a while for waters to get refilled and to get the check and pay. However, I did appreciate how the hostess spread everyone out across the large dining space so it didn't feel like we were all in one space. Overall, this is such a big improvement to the first Canton House in terms of dim sum quality and dining experience. But in comparison to Royal China, I think Canton House is slightly inferior in terms of the ambience and dim sum options.

Yelp
Beautiful Chinese banquet restaurant - this place is designed to host parties, wedding receptions, or a nice meal out with the family. The service was excellent! A common problem is running out of space on the lazy susan to put dishes, but the servers were attentive to gradually transferring dishes to smaller plates to make more space. The servers were also super helpful when it came to packing our food to-go. The food itself was decent - coming from Houston my Chinese food standards are just really high, but for what you can find in Atlanta, it is very solid! Not sure how the pricing is though - considering the interior I'd think it is a bit pricey. Would rec if you need a nice location to get solid Chinese food.

Yelp
I came by with my family on a Monday afternoon having low expectations and not expecting cart service thinking we'd have to order by menu because like I said... it was a Monday afternoon. However, we were excited to see upon walking in that they did still have carts going around with dim sum! We were immediately seated at a table with plenty of space for our family. A high chair was promptly set up for my son, and when one of the employees saw me struggling to figure out the straps, he came over and assisted me in addition to giving me a child's plate and utensils without me even having to request it. He also asked if I'd like a child's water cup, which I declined because we already brought a sippy cup. This is not the service I'm typically used to getting dining out with a small toddler. As soon as we sat down, carts were immediately brought to our table, and we had food instantly. Honestly, it was so fast that the food was already on the table while I was figuring out the high chair. They were so attentive to the pace we were eating that every time we were low or out, carts would appear again. They gave us menus as well without us having to ask in case we wanted to order anything extra. I'm guessing because it was a Monday afternoon, what was on the carts was limited. I've never been to this new location before, but my husband had gone with friends the day prior (Sunday brunch- the true time to go for dim sum), and he told me they did have more options then. This was no surprise to me, and I have no complaints though because it's what I expected coming on a Monday afternoon. Whenever there wasn't something on the cart, I'd ask by showing a picture, and they'd tell me they would get it for me. They would cook several and add it to the carts, and before putting those dishes on the cart, they brought it to us personally first and asked how many we'd like of each. I was very impressed with the service and attentiveness. Taste and price are comparable to the other local dim sum places. But for this good of service, I'd likely frequent here as opposed to somewhere else from now on! Also, my photos are unimpressive because I got so caught up in eating and enjoying my food that I kept forgetting to take photos first. It was a nice cozy dining room area, and on the opposite side was the much bigger room probably used when the restaurant is busier and during weddings/events. It looks like a beautiful, spacious spot for a wedding reception and I'm interested to see/eat at a wedding here hopefully one day!

Yelp
Awesome banquet dinner. The restaurant is fairly new. Everything was clean bright and looking good. Restrooms were immaculately cleaned now for the food. It was your typical banquet dinner in which we ordered 12 courses so it was two hours of straight eating. We had soup, duck, beef, lobster, vegetables, fried rice, shrimp, calamari, and dessert. Every course was really, really good. The calamari was a little bit below par. The pieces were a bit small and fried a little bit too much. However, the rest of the food was exceptionally good. The stand out is the Peking duck that is just simply awesome. The meat was cooked with preserved veggies, which is not prepared in a way that I've had before before but it worked really well. The flavor so it just simply awesome And was just an explosion in your mouth of flavor. Well done the dessert was quite unique. It was mango pudding with tapioca. What a great way to finish the meal although the banquet took about two hours to eat all the courses. I was really happy and could've even ate more if I really pushed myself Loved every course.

Yelp
Coming here on Mother's Day was absolute nuts. The mix of the new location along with them not even "officially" opening was kind of a wild ride. The OG Canton House is on Buford Highway, and when we heard that there was this location, we wanted to check it out. Unbeknownst to us, they were still technically in a soft opening when Mother's Day rolled around. When 10 AM rolled around, there was already a line out the door waiting for them to open. They didn't let anyone in when opening hour came around because it seemed like they didn't have enough workers there yet! After around 10:30 they started letting people in. And it was wild. I think they still have a lot of things to work out before it's running super smoothly. The one thing I noticed where we sat was we were in the middle. The Dim Sum carts went around the room, but never came to the middle! I think it's partially because there wasn't enough space but also I blame how busy it was. I think they forgot about the people in the middle of the dining hall. We had to pretty much flag someone down to place an order of what we wanted. The food was pretty good. I'm not really a dim sum connoisseur, but from what I thought it wasn't bad. I saw some items that was unexpected such as the Thai Tea and bobas rolling around on the carts. I didn't get the chance to try it though because we were forgotten and by that point we were about to leave. I would say to come on a weekday if possible so it's not too busy. I can see that this location is going to be really busy especially with all the parking and how convenient it is to get here. Finally I guess the biggest question is: "Can they compete with Royal China down the street?" At this current point, probably not. Maybe down the road they'll get better and it'll run smoother, but right now it's alright. Overall, they still need to figure stuff out, but after that I think they'll be smooth sailing.

Yelp
TL;DR - Not worth the wait. The interior is grand and well-lit. That's about all the positive I have for this place. The food is on the salty end. You get dishes similar to those of other Dim Sum places. They also serve drinks on a cart, like coffee, soy milk, and Thai tea. We got a Chicken Shu Mai, and it was not well done. Their service is on par with other Dim Sum places. They probably have a lot of kinks they are sorting out since they are newly opened. During our short hour, two waitresses dropped and shattered plates and glasses on the floor. I won't be coming back again. One time is enough. If you plan to go, go after the new opening frenzy. Check my video for how long the line is at 11:30.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Food was very okay! I think if you have the feeling of wanting dim sum this place will suffice. However, the flavor depth isn't something to be impressed by. The soup dumplings were less flavorful as Trader Joe's. All the fried stuff needed the assistance of soy sauce to give some sort of tongue hit. The fried rice was expensive for so little uniqueness. I wouldn't go here often only only if it was for a mood for some dim sum and I was hungry. The staff felt like they were just there, nothing to really complain or compliment about. The overall seating area is well let lit and spacious.

Yelp
The OG Canton House on BuHi has been on our dim sum rotation for years now. So when this location finally opened we were excited to try it. We came here on Mother's day weekend for dim sum. They recently opened and it was clear that they were still figuring things out. The line started 15 min before opening and they weren't letting people in until almost 10:30 (30 min past opening). The seats and tables were really close to each other. I was consistently bumped by someone's chair at the adjacent table. The carts barely had space to go through and mainly went around the sides, so we missed a lot of carts (eg milk tea cart, egg tarts cart). Overall, the food was similar to other dim sum experiences in Atlanta. We will try the regular menu next. There is plenty of parking.

Yelp
I found out they finally opened a location in Duluth off Pleasant Hill Rd. I am a longtime customer of the Canton House in Chamblee and was super excited to come here. Parking is super big as it's in the old Toys R Us shopping center from back in the days. Walking into the restaurant, I was very impressed by the marble floor, high ceilings, and beautiful decor inside. I checked out their hall room for parties and weddings and the lighting and decor was amazing. This place is definitely a step up from their old location. I came here to try out their Dim Sum as I really love the Chamblee location. There is several other parties when we arrived as it was the 3rd day open at this location. I got all my Dim Sum favorites which included the following: Taro balls, Shrimp noodles, Shu Mi, Chicken Feet, Bbq pork buns, and shrimp dumplings. I ordered an extra dish of their lunch special of House Combination Pan fried Noodle. The customer service was excellent here. Food was okay, tasted about the same as the other dim sum places. The taro ball had an ammonia taste to it. I was unsure why it tasted like this but it was horrible. One of the bean curd dishes was overly salted. The pan fried noodle wasn't too bad here, I did enjoy it. I am unsure if I will come back due to it tasting about the same as every other dim sum spot. But the venue would be perfect for a wedding or party. Hopefully, they get their cookie straightened out and will taste better in the future.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times since it opened and I don't understand how it doesn't have as great of a rating. I haven't been too many dim sum restaurants but I have been to a few and the dim sum here has always been amazing. I tried some of the dishes off the menu too such as a fried rice and a beef noodle and it was great! Service was great and the music was nice. The restaurant is clean and looks great, especially with their event hall. I am excited There is great dim sum on pleasant hill now.

Yelp
This location is 10x better than the original. The service is surprisingly good - they are all friendly, will cut up the dim sum plates for you so it's easier to share, etc. The food is hot and fresh - I think it has more of a Chinese flavor than the other dim sum spots around but that's not a bad thing. Their Thai tea is very creamy, I like that it's half cream half tea. Must gets are obviously rice noodle rolls and their crispy roast duck. My new regular spot for dim sum!
google avatar

Shan R.

Yelp
Lovely ambience, absolutely wonderful staff members, and seriously delicious Korean food. The lady who was repairing our food at the table continuously included my daughter in conversations about her singing career and relocating into Atlanta. My daughter wants to go back simply because she made my daughter feel included. The food was delicious, drinks were fantastic and we definitely plan on coming back.
google avatar

Jason Y.

Yelp
Normally I always give high rating to the places I went. I was having breakfast on Sunday. The tables are so close and there is not enough space. The service was not satisfactory and ding sum are hot tasty, maybe from frozen stuff. I would not recommend this place for weekend breakfast.
google avatar

Emy H.

Yelp
The food was ok for me. But compare to other places, it's not worth the money. Most of the food are mushy and plain. The chicken feet is usually my favorite but I couldn't finish it and little more salty and oily than other places. The service is really good, all the staffs are nice and welcoming! The only opinion I have is that they don't know how to organize the carts. They keep bringing us the same food multiple times but we were waiting for different options.

Yelp
We went to Canton House (Duluth) for dinner. We loved the food there. We ordered Walnut Shrimps & Salty Eggs with Pork Ribs. Everything was delicious! We definitely will come back!

Yelp
Canton house is huge and quite visually appealing. I was there for a birthday event from start to finish. Everything we ate was pretty average to subpar. Anything fried was cold and not even close to being crispy. Service was amazing. From the attention to details setting the tables up, bringing things out promptly, and overall interactions. Ice bucket made water marks? Wiped up immediately. Kids playing and making an escape, they watched and smiled. The space was spacious enough for the event without being crowded or feeling so empty. Be careful of your belonging though, because even though the event was still happening and more than half of the guest still present, they ended up throwing my clothing away that I had on the seat. I'd hope they'd clean what was needed and left it on the empty table or on the side just in case but no.

R H.

Yelp
This is a nice place that is spacious, bright and clean feeling. The people working there are exceptionally nice too! The let down is the food, which is only average. Shrimp is a staple of dim sum, but the quality of shrimp used there is not very good. Another issue is the oil that they use in the dishes, which is strong tasting and taints everything with an unpleasantness. If they can improve this, I would frequent this restaurant.
google avatar

Lora L.

Yelp
Got seated right away! But did have to wait for a bit before our waitress came. We came during dinner time and they still had certain dim sum that you could order! Great place to dine with family and friends. They offer catering, to private events. Overall everything from ordering, dining and checking out was smooth!

Yelp
So we decided to come here on Father's Day. The other Dim Sum place was packed! Was a little hesitant because of the reviews and the fact that they just open not too long ago. Glad we came!! Place was nice!! Service from the front to the back was attentive and very friendly. We order a lot of different dim sums everything was hot and delicious! Carts was coming toward our table with a lot of different varieties of Dim sums options. Will be returning!! Because of the foods and the friendly service!! Will tried Dinner on our next visit.

Yelp
Went today to celebrate Mother's Day. We do know that it's their first week and a lot of things are still settling down, but here are some brief thoughts of how we think about today's meal, and hope they will improve soon! First of all...the food they taste...plain. Salt and pepper calamari doesn't have salt and pepper seasoning on it. The food overall lacks flavor and overcooked even for the dim sum as well. On top of that the waiting time for the food are really long. We waited over an hour for 7 dishes to arrive and at the end, we were told that one of our dishes was sold out and unable to make it. the rice... is heartbreaking to see the rice was overly moist to the point it became mochi and porridge-like. Hope they can fix the issue soon. the good thing is their drinks taste great! Especially the Vietnamese coffee flavor is really strong! They are low on staff right now and heard rumors about people waiting for 3-4 hours just to have lunch here. I'll give it a try again someday when they settle and hope the review will change!

Yelp
We came on a Tuesday afternoon so they were slow and service was great. They greeted us at the door and we're very attentive. They open at 11 and we were the second ones here. It's a very big space. They have separate individual rooms on the side for private party. In those rooms you can do karaoke and they have their own separate bathroom with a bidet. How fancy! the other side of the restaurant is for event space. You can do a small or large event here because they have partitioning walls. Food is served very quickly after you order. It's still very new so everything is very clean and pretty. When you go into the entrance, it's very nice and modern, but honestly not as well decorated as their competitors. Pretty simple decor in the event space. They had dim sum all ready and served in carts. We tried both, ordering from the menu and ordering from the dim sum cart. The food and the dim sum cart was good and tasted as it should. However, it seemed like everything we ordered from the actual menu was a bit on the salty side. We had to eat extra rice to combat the saltiness. If it wasn't for that I think it would have been much better and my rating would be better.

Yelp
Window browsing around the area and wanted something to eat., so I was surprised to see a new Dim sum place directly opposite of GW supermarket. The ambiance was super clean and room is brightly lit. It was perhaps 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. I was quickly seated without much problem. The food was okay. Cheong Fun skin felt just right. Not thick like other places and not thin enough that'll tear upon picking it up. The rest of the food were okay. Nothing spectacular nor off putting to write about. The attendants were nice and attentive. I did have to flag someone down for tea. Otherwise, an okay experience. Prices/portions are comparable to other places around the area.

Yelp
This food Din Sum & Duck was amazing & we had such a good time laughing and the waiter was funny and we all laughed together!

Yelp
Came here a couple weeks ago and quite disappointed. I know it's newer so it takes time to get into the rhythm of things so I will be back to re-try later. They kept running out of food options and we would have to wait 30+ mins for them to say they're still trying to make certain things in the back. The carts were pushed in no organized way, so we kept getting the same people with the same options but the ones we wanted never pasted our table once. We were there forever and felt like we left hungry.

Yelp
I really wanted to write an amazing review! So newly opened bigger space lots and lots of people waiting. Service was sooo slow and the options were limited. I didn't take any pictures because whatever we got we ate and had to wait. There were no other steamed dumplings. There was only 2-4 varieties. No Hargao no Chaohou Fun Guo no pork spare ribs. A lot of the fried food was just cold the chili sauce on the table was very bland and just oily. The chicken feet had soo much red coloring to it. No one came to refill our drinks service took forever just for soda. The duck on the cart was the same duck getting pushed for 30 minutes. There was no plain egg tarts or the ginger tofu offered. Hopefully they get it together.

Yelp
Restaurant was clean and served dim sum in carts which were delicious. It was not too packed on a Sunday afternoon. Only thing is that I wish was more variety in their dishes, specifically tendon offerings that other dim sum restaurants have. Would visit again.

Yelp
My family tried this newly opened place. Love the place, it's massive and the ambience is nice, making it a great place spot for small or large gatherings. I only gave 4 stars considering they're new. The service is a bit slow and still a bit disorganized like main entrees came out before the appetizers (dim sum) & soup. The dishes we ordered were so good except for the orange chicken. It was rather dry & chicken was hard. Other than that the place is good. Will go back for sure and give it another try.

Yelp
Was thoroughly disappointed in the service. Waited over 10 minutes to ask for more water and put in 2 orders of dim sum. Another 25 minutes to get more water and our extra last 2 orders of dim sum. Servers were barely checking up on us. There were only 5 other tables in the afternoon and service was slow. Servers did not seem to know what they were doing and it looked like there was a lot of confusion. Food tasted the same as the Chamblee location. The restaurant looked a lot more fancy vs the other location as well. Hope to give them one more chance to see if their service will be better since they are newly opened..

Yelp
Only time I saw my waiter was when he gave me the check. He said he took my order, he said he refilled my drink, he said..... Service is lacking, food is good.

Yelp
Wow! This place finally opened. We've been several times in the Canton House in Atlanta; I know they have awesome food. First since this is new, I am honored to be able to see the beautiful place. Clean, properly decorated with modern Asian theme; marble white floors clean Restrooms, bright lighting. You need to see the workmanship of this place. As for service, with new place, you can always expect slower service. The chef needs to familiarize their surroundings and communications between the servers and the chefs takes a few weeks to ironed out. As for the food; this is what we come for. Incredible!! The pork is tender with a touch of sweetness and spice. The fish is well presented with string beens and sauce. Great food! This is a must try right away!

Yelp
The service is absolutely the worst I have experienced. We're still one hour into Dim Sum, and our waitress has totally ignored us. I had to go to the server station to get silverware.

Yelp
Ordered Beef chow fun, string beans and many dim sum. The beef in chow fun was still raw in the middle. ALL three of us had bad diarrhea later that day. Very bad experience!

Yelp
Upon walking in, you're greeted nicely by the staff and then taken to your table. The atmosphere looks nice and very clean. It's bright and beautiful. It definitely makes you think that it'll be good but unfortunately, that's where it stops. As always when you're finding a place to eat, the food is always the most important. Sadly, the food here was quite disappointing. Almost everything came out mushy and a lot of it was quite bland. There are many dim sum places in Duluth and this is one that I can't recommend. On top of the food not being so great, it's even overpriced! Much more expensive than the surrounding dim sum places. So putting those two together just equals a bad experience. Will not come here again.

Yelp
So why are all of the food that they "cook" frozen and prepackaged? It's honestly not that good and you're better iff going somewhere else.

Yelp
It was okay. I was really excited for a new dimsum place in Duluth to compete with Royal China, but it was nothing to write home about. Came in Sunday around noon, was told it would be a 30 minute wait, but turned out to be an hour. All the food was alright, nothing spectacular, just what you would expect for an average dim sum place. Interior and decorations were very nice and clean though. Carts came around fast enough, but it seems to heavily depends what seats you end up getting.

Yelp
Sitting there with family without being greeted or offered beverages for quite a while until a couple settled at the next table who immediately got greeted and served tea. Waving at the server, and the server asked us to wait. 30 minutes passed by, still only got shumai from the same cart three times. I asked the server if he can just bring 腸粉, 糯米雞,蘿蔔糕 so we can hit the road. He told us that we had to wait for the cart, which never came. Sadly we only had a few plates of shumai from the same cart and one bowl of porridge when we walked out the restaurant. It's the worst dim sum experience ever! I normally tipped 20% at restaurant, but just couldn't today. The owner or manager needs to see this message. Your restaurant failed when your quality of service is affected by the ethnicity of your customers. Do your Chinese servers think Chinese customers don't tip enough for their services, so they are allowed to give this attitude to all Chinese customers?

Yelp
Food is good. Service is excellent. This is not a complaint. I just want to share my experience when I lost my iPhone. My wife and I left Canton house restaurant in Duluth around 220pm yesterday. We went to Gainesville for a meeting . On the way there, I wanted to call my friend and realized that l left the iPhone at canton house. So my wife called the canton house to see if my cell phone was there. The receptionist couldn't find it so she asked for Peter, the manager there. After talking with Peter, he said he would check on the camera and call back . Later on his receptionist called back and let us know they couldn't locate my phone. I canceled a meeting and turned around to Canton house to see Peter to check on the camera but he wasn't at the restaurant. We went to Verizon nearby to buy the new phone. After purchasing new iPhones the salesperson couldn't transfer database because I didn't have my old phone. We went back to Canton house looking for Peter . He checked on his camera and went back to the table where we were sitting to look for my iPhone. We were hanging around the reception area , suddenly the server came with my iPhone and said he found it on the parking lot next to his car. We said thanks and went back to the Verizon to see the salesperson to help me download the database to my new phone. It took a longtime to download so we left the Verizon with both phones still downloading. Here is my opinion for whoever lost the phone or found someone phone. When I lost the phone I was panic bc all contacts , important information , schedules and images ... saved in the phone with both my credit cards, drivers license and insurance inside the iPhone case. On the way back to Canton house in the car, my wife was trying to locate the phone but it was offline so she had to freeze both of my credit cards . We lost the whole Sunday afternoon running around trying to figure out how to find the iPhone with all information that I need for my work daily. And I'm still learning and download all apps and information to my new iPhone . I'm old man so learning how to get used and download information is not easy like young people . For phone founders: When you find the lost cell, please don't turnoff the iPhone so the owner can locate the phone. Give the cellphone to the counter or any business nearby with your name and phone # for owners to comeback pick it up. We were on vacation with friends in Cancun few months ago. I were sitting on the chair by the swimming pool while all my friends in the pool. The cellphone on the next chair kept ringing , so I think it's an important call , so I answered for my friends while they're in the pool. It turned out the couple and hotel staff were looking for the lost phone around the pool. So when I answered the phone they asked me where I was sitting. They found their phone and everyone including hotel staff were very happy and cheering. So please don't turn off the cell whenever you find it so owner can locate it Conclusion: The cell phone is not that important but you think data and information on your phone are important then you should save them on icloud because you can't find these information if you lost your phone. If you're cellphone finder, please think about people who lost their phones how panic they feel and also cost them time and money, so do the right thing.

Yelp
The food was very mediocre. However, the service was extremely unattentive, and it took roughly 40 minutes in order for our order to come out. Also, the waiters are very slow to get their attention, and even the bussers are really slow. They also seem to be understaffed, and don't plan on having your food come on time if they have a private event. Just go to Royal China for dim sum.

Yelp
The waiters are hella rude and don't care about the customers at all, the place is plain and the environment doesn't do anything really, they take so damn long to bring your shitty ass food to your table

Yelp
My son and I went on Sunday at 12:30, peak time and waited about 20 minutes to be seated. By the time we left, the place was clear. Service was good, and we didn't have to wait for carts, drinks, refills or empty plates to be bussed. The manager (Peter) came and talked to us and gave us a tour and pricing for private parties/private room. You can tell the no expense was spared, no cheap plastic hanging flowers here that you find at just about every new eatery. The owner designed the lighting, which was custom made. Very cool spot! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
We love the new location. It is beautiful! We have been coming to Canton House for a VERY long time. The new location is so much closer to us and is HUGE. We will probably book a room for a family dinner sometime in the future. Peter took the time to show us a few things around since he has been seeing us come to Canton House since he was a teenager. We tried other dim sum places but this remains our favorite.
