The Best Chicken Wings In San Francisco, Ranked - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The fried salt and pepper wings from Capital in Chinatown may look a little naked, but these “Famous Chicken Wings” as Capital dubs them, prove that simplicity is sometimes better. There’s no crust, no sauce, no special spice blend—just fried wings seasoned with salt and pepper and just a little jalapeno garnish. An occasional flat or two may be too salty, but we’d still fight anyone over the last one." - lani conway, julia chen 1, patrick wong

Capital’s fame is well-earned thanks to its wings - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"There’s one guarantee at Capital. Every single table at this old-school Chinese spot will have at least one plate of salt and pepper wings. The menu dubs them “Famous Chicken Wings” and it’s a well-earned title—the skin is light and slightly puffy, and there’s no sauce, so the flavor of the chicken and jalapeño garnish comes through in full force. Cantonese classics fill up the rest of the menu, and though they’re solid, they’re not memorable. That said, it’s still a great choice if you’re in Chinatown and need something quick—even if the dining room’s full, tables turnover quickly. There’s also a bar with a handful of stools for solo diners. Food Rundown Fried Chicken Wings The wings alone are worth a trip here. We appreciate that there’s no thick crust or coating—no distractions from the flavor of fried skin and a light hit of salt, pepper, and a little heat. A dozen wings come with one order, so they can easily replace an entree. photo credit: Patrick Wong Salted Fish And Chicken Fried Rice Capital does this Cantonese staple justice. They don’t skimp on the cured fish and there are plenty of green onions and ribbons of lettuce to cut through the salt. photo credit: Patrick Wong Garlic Pea Vines The flavor is all there—the dish has a nice char and there’s more than enough garlic, but the pea vines are undercooked. They arrive a bit too stiff and hard to chew. photo credit: Patrick Wong Beef Chow Fun Prioritize this over the fried rice. The noodles are caramelized and scorched without tasting burnt, and the slices of beef are similarly seared but tender." - Patrick Wong

Flat out—chicken wings are the best. We’ve tried other places and this is definitely the best. They give you a lot for the price. I was disappointed that they didn’t give me any tea or even offer it to me. Atmosphere is you get seated where you can, so get cozy. Beef chow fun was sold out!!!

Google
I know I've eaten the fried chicken here many years ago and recall it being good. But I'm writing this review for my recent lunch experience as I'm on a hunt for the best value Mongolian beef in Chinatown. This place almost nailed it. The flavor is OK, the price seems just right, though the portions felt a little small compared to other nearby restaurants. A bonus, they apparently accept cards and from what it seems like, there's no extra charge like other places so I might not need to bring cash here next time.

Google
Fantastic service and outstanding food! 😀 The chicken wings are a must-try, perfectly golden brown with an irresistibly crispy exterior that gives way to juicy, tender meat inside. Every bite is packed with flavor and crunch. The Steamed Pork with Mushroom and Chinese Sausage transported me straight back to Canton China. The savory aroma of the sausage, the natural sweetness of the mushrooms, and the well seasoned pork come together in a wonderful balanced dish. Celebrating Father’s Day at the Capital Restaurant was absolutely worth the trip. Lots of parking near by parking structures.

Capital Restaurant has a Chinatown basement restaurant vibe even though it is on street level. Tables are tightly packed not meant for the average American. Previously, the tables were really sticky. Now they put table clothes on some tables. The counter lady is Toisan and is not friendly. The older waitress is nice but she is too busy to offer good service. One person to wait on 10 tables is kind of ridiculous. The food is meh. My house salt pepper wings $13.75 had too much salt. It was crispy but it needed more of a pepper taste. People around me seemed to enjoy it; as it is the house special. The beef stewed braised noodles $14.75 + wontons $3 ($17.75) was OK. It needed a little bowl of soup on the side, as most places will provide. The tendon pieces were too hard to eat. It should have been cooked longer. The added wontons were small and needed sesame oil or minced shrimp. Not good. Other than that, this meal was fine. I wasn't expecting much.

Google
If we are talking Best Chicken Wings in San Francisco…this has got to be it!!! Located in Chinatown. Not only should you have their wings but also their minced beef with string beans….perfect combination with their fried rice! SFPD eat there so it means they are affordable and very good too!

Google
In the heart of Chinatown, lots to do in the surrounding area. We lucked out with getting a table quickly, small restaurant but they definitely maximize their seating. Service is quick, you could see them hustling to stay atop of orders. Food was good, some dishes stood out more than others. Personal favorites were their chow mein and honey walnut prawns. Some dishes like their fried rice could use more flavor. Open to eating here again. Great spot for authentic Chinese food!

Google
Perfect food and super authentic feel for cantonese options. Definitely recommend the beef chow mein! Can't get enough, and the beef just melts in your mouth with a lovely sear with perfectly salted and flavoured noodles. will also add the vegetables are cooked perfectly every time.

Google
Had to go to Capital for the best wings in San Francisco! For those who have a peanut allergy, sadly we cannot eat them, they are fried in the same oil as peanut items, but my fiancé did eat them and said they were delicious! He said they had a peanut taste to them, and the salt and hot pepper was the perfect seasoning for the juicy chicken! The portion size is huge for an appetizer, it could be a meal size! They also give you oolong tea with your meal which was delicious and the perfect temperature after being out in the wind!

Yelp
Stopped by today to try their world famous chicken wings. We ended up ordering and splitting two orders of chicken wings. They had a crispy skin seasoned with salt and pepper. But the chicken meat inside was still very moist. They appear to have mastered the art of the deep fry chicken wing. For those of you who are looking for something real, this restaurant h has a definite no frills China town ambiance . Simply put the wings were fabulous. If you come to San Francisco you have to try these wings.

Yelp
These wings... unreal. Easily the best in the city, no doubt about it. They're dry (not saucy), perfectly crispy, salty in the best way, and the jalapeños give them just the right kick. I don't even usually go crazy over wings, but these are addictive. The place itself is super chill, nothing fancy, just good food and good vibes. There's usually a line, but honestly, I'd wait twice as long for these wings.

Yelp
My friends got their Famous salt and pepper chicken wings, according to them it was not as flavourful for them and the only thing they liked was the crunch of it. I'm vegetarian so I ordered their Mapo Tofu (I asked them not to add the pork or anything that has egg or any meat in it) I loved the Mapo Tofu. The restaurant is quite busy and there was a line too. The service was good as well. Overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
Nice hole in the wall spot! The food was great! The beef was tender and melted in your mouth. The Mongolian beef was seasoned well. The chicken wings are known for being "the best in the bay". They were excellent! They came out piping hot. They had excellent flavor! They are quite salty, so if that isn't your thing I would stay away. But the wings were delicious and my favorite. The oolong tea was brewed perfectly and hot. The service was just okay. Our server was nice, but there were several tables (the same size as our table) who were sat well after us that were served before us. So we waited a long time while around 3 tables that arrived after us were served before we were.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer for over a decade and after moving to San Jose, I finally made the trip back. Happy to say that the flavors haven't changed one bit. Still as good as I remember. Stopped by at 12 PM on a Saturday and it was about half full. The menu doesn't list prices but if you're here for the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (椒盐鸡翅), they're $15.50. Heads up - $20 minimum for credit cards so bring cash if you're only ordering wings. Wings are perfectly fried and crispy but not overdone. Still piping hot at the center when eaten fresh. Classic flavors you'd expect from Salt & Pepper Wings (yes, there's MSG) but not so heavy that you're wanting to chug water every bite. My suggestion - eat it there for the best experience. If you're getting it to go, some of the seasoning does fall to the bottom of the container. There's rarely any parking in the area but if you're looking for a reliable place to park, Portsmouth Square Garage is 2 blocks away and is ~$4/hr on the weekend.

Yelp
Solid place in Chinatown! 3.5 stars. (Any 3 star Chinese place is good, that's just how it works.) Perhaps the stakes were too high for the fried chicken. It took so long to come out and when it came out it was way too temperature hot. Sad. A bit still oily too. There also wasn't too much meat and had way too much bone. It was good, don't get me wrong, just wasn't life-changing like I wanted it to be. Green beans were the perfect texture/crunch, would get again. We also got the beef shank in a clay pot. So little beef, but I guess that's how the dish works. The service was great, loved chatting with the ladies. The tea was good too!

Yelp
A true hole in the wall experience. One of the locals recommended this place and I really did enjoy it. The food was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. I ordered the General chicken and the wings. I really enjoyed the food. All of the flavors were different from what I'm used to but it seemed to have a more traditional Chinese flavor to it as opposed to the overly oily, overly sweet flavor profile at many of today's Chinese restaurants. The staff was nice and attentive. The space is small and really packed out but it felt more like a family inviting you over to have a meal. I'd like to see the implementation of fountain drinks (as opposed to the cans) with at least 3 refills. Other than that, they did the thing. I definitely recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Located in the heart of china town in San Francisco this place is amazing. Definitely hard to find parking if you are driving but we were using public transportation and walked there. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat. The service was good and what'd you'd expect from an Asian restaurant. The inside gives Chinese diner vibes with families coming in and enjoying a nice family still meal on the big tables with a spinning center. We tried the wings since they were award winning and they were definitely delicious! They had a nice crisp to the outside and nice and juicy inside! The dry seasoning was a bit strong, a little too salty for my taste but the fresh jalapeño helped. The beef chow main was also very good! The beef was perfectly seasoned. The tea complimented everything well. Definitely a great choice for authentic Chinese food!

Yelp
Visited on a Friday night around 7:15pm with a friend. Restaurant was packed, there was one other group ahead of us, wait was about 15 minutes before we were seated. Food: Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings - came piping hot with a great crispy fry, well seasoned with salt, pepper, fried garlic and jalapenos, a classic done right, must order if you come for a visit, portion felt generous with about a dozen wings per order, grabbed some steamed rice to pair with Garlic pea shoots - okay, stir fried with garlic cloves, slightly oily, with a little bit of broth, pea shoots were decent some really tender others a bit more tough, nice to have a veggie to pair with the wings Service was good, friendly and fairly quick. Once seated we were served some tea and got our order in, food came after maybe a 20 minute wait. Overall enjoyed dinner at this Chinatown classic. A great spot for a casual dinner. Might be a slight wait but worth it.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning when they opened at 11am and half the resturant was already filled. It ended up filling up by around 11:30 am. Capital is well known for their deep fried salt and pepper chicken wings so of course this is a must order. It was the first item that came out for us and it was piping hot! Skin was crispy and meat is juicy! Fried perfectly! Nice and Salty with hints of pepper. The honey walnut shrimp is a staple when dining at any Chinese resturant and reminds me of all the times as a kid eating out with my family. It was made well and very nostalgic for me. The salted fish with chicken fried rice is my go to order for fried rice and had a good funk to the salted fish that added to the strong flavors of this dish. We also decided to order the fukien style fried egg tofu for the first time and was surprised at how yummy this was. The tofu was sliced into circular coin shapes and deep fried. It was drenched in the gravy similar to the ones on fukien fried rice and I just can't get enough of it! This is a must order!

Yelp
We had the best lunch here the other day. Went on the recommendation of a friend. Food was delicious! Service was friendly. The restaurant is on the small side, so if your group is small you might share a table with another small group. The salt & pepper chicken wings are a must get dish!

Yelp
Capital is one of those classic Chinatown spots that doesn't look like much from the outside--but the food totally delivers. It's kind of no-frills and a little run down inside, but honestly, that adds to the charm. You're here for the food, and it does not disappoint. I've been here for years and their food is always consistent. My partner and I ordered a few items for lunch: chicken wings, stir fry peashoots, honey walnut prawns and Fukien tofu. Their famous salt and pepper chicken wings are the star of the show--crispy, flavorful, and addictive. Everything comes out fast and hot, and it's all super satisfying. Great spot to come with a group and order a ton of dishes to share. Don't expect fancy, but if you're looking for a delicious and classic SF Chinatown meal, this is a highly recommended place to visit in Chinatown. FYI, parking is rough in Chinatown, recommend parking at Portsmouth Square and walked up 2 blocks.

Yelp
Haven't been to this restaurant for many years and recently revisited a few times because I was feeling nostalgic. My late father used to treat me to lunch on occasion and this was one of a few dozen places he liked in Chinatown. This place seemed smaller than I remembered, and more crowded around lunch time. Food is still delicious. Staff is efficient and polite. On a recent visit, I tried the beef chow fun and it was delicious with lots of wok hay. The tomato beef with rice made me cry a bit (in a good way). Food definitely helps bring back memories. This is a humble restaurant serving Chinese American food since 1986, not sure if it's same owner/family, but it's been continuously operating which is rare these days. Located on Clay and Waverly Place.

Yelp
Killer great salt and pepper fried chicken wings. We also had some pea shoots with garlic. They were overpriced at $20. Other things were more reasonable at $12-$15. Food is tasty. The place is clean. The service is a bit slow. People are very friendly. I come back

Yelp
We decided on this restaurant based on its ultra long menu posted out front. First impression was positive as a friendly older lady greeted us, but this was soon marred by the rudeness of the younger server who seated us. The ambience is basic and utilitarian. We were given a small table right next to the bathroom in the back of the restaurant. It was a while before our orders were taken and the food came out at an uneven pace. First our spring rolls, which arrived with no dipping sauce, then almost immediately after, my friend's szechuan chicken. He sat and waited till my entree arrived. We requested dipping sauce for our egg rolls, and our server curled her lip, made a noise of frustration and disappeared into the back. We assumed she was fetching the sauce, but she brought out my eggplant instead. We never did get our sauce, and ended up using soy and chili sauce instead. The egg rolls themselves were tasty but I expect that delicious sweet dipping sauce to come with them. As for my eggplant, it was not terrible but not great either. The flavor was one note. Savory and vaguely spicy but I couldn't taste anything beyond that. The sauce was EXTREMELY oily, to the point where I ended up eating part of a taro bun I had with me just to soak some of it up. Yes, i know Asian stir fries are on the oily side, but this was *mostly* oil. The meal did *not* come with rice and we weren't told this until our entrees came out. And yes, I did find this cheap of them. It's not like rice is expensive. Overall, it wasn't a terrible meal, but I wouldn't eat there again. Partly based on the food quality and overall value, and partly on the service.

Yelp
The salt & pepper chicken wings are just the right ratio of crispy, salty, peppery to make an excellent appetizer. I could have easily devoured the entire plate by myself. But I also wanted to give a shout-out to their silken tofu. It was surprisingly delicious! The texture was so delicate and smooth, and it came in this really flavorful sauce. It was a nice contrast to the crispy wings and a really tasty vegetarian option. Of course, I also tried their chow mein, which was a solid, classic version - exactly what you expect and want. I also saw a lot of love online for their regular fried chicken wings, orange chicken, and anything with jalapeños, so those are probably worth checking out too. Capital Restaurant has that classic, bustling Chinatown feel, and the food is just good, honest Chinese cooking. But seriously, don't skip the salt and pepper wings or the silken tofu - they were the highlights for me! Definitely worth a visit when you're in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Victor D.

Yelp
Got the Fukien style tofu, the wings, and the snow peas. Honestly this place is great and I quite enjoyed it. The wings are so crispy with a very thin coating. Nothing complicated in seasoning as it was basically just salt. The tofu could've been a bit spicier, but it was such a good texture and a beautiful bite when combined with rice and sauce. Snow peas are standard and well done. Definitely would recommend this place and I'd give it 4.5 if I could

Yelp
Went to Capital Restaurant on a weekday night. I've been looking for salt & pepper chicken wings in Chinatown and think I've finally found the best spot. Service was fast and there were only a few parties inside at night. It seemed great for big groups and small parties alike. Mongolian Beef - excellent flavors, tender beef, stir fried vegetables Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - their signature dish, light & crispy, juicy, excellent texture, large portions Would highly recommend ordering their chicken wings along with some other dishes to complement. Will be back to check out more of their food for sure. Check out Capital Restaurant for the best salt & pepper chicken wings in Chinatown!

Yelp
Came back to Capital for dine-in and this place definitely deserves 5 stars. I came with a friend for lunch Saturday around 12:15 and it was pretty empty, surprisingly. It was full by the time we left though, so I guess the peak lunch time is later here. They have a large menu of dishes, though I wish their lunch menu had prices listed. We were ordering completely blind as far as prices go. We shared the following dishes, and each one was a 5/5 for me: Half order of chicken wings ($8.50) - they're known for their salt and pepper wings. Pretty much every table was ordering them, and I saw a bunch of takeout orders for the wings as well. They're super solid as far as chicken wings go! I'm glad they do half orders as well, which come with 6 wings. Mongolian beef with rice ($11.25 on lunch special menu) - very flavorful, and they're generous with the rice as well. Perfect for two people to split! Fukien style egg tofu ($17.95) - I'm obsessed with egg tofu, so when I saw this dish is popular here, I knew we had to get it. The egg tofu is so soft and comes with a generous amount of squid. The gravy goes perfectly with trice as well!

Yelp
great place for chicken wings and noodles, very impressive. I came across this place without knowing they serve the best fried chicken wings in the city!

Yelp
Came here bc of the rave reviews but I didn't think the food lived up to the hype. But first, I went to check in on Yelp and saw the free drink with entree. Waitress told me they haven't done that in a long time. Why is it still showing up on their Yelp page then? Needless to say, she didn't honor it. I was going to check in regardless but still disappointed it wasn't honored. We ordered the "world famous" chicken wings, egg tofu with spicy meat, and orange chicken for our little guy. I get why people rave about the chicken wings. They come out piping hot and the skin is really crispy...and not to me mention all flats. To me, the seasoning was too salty (on the outside, with the skin) and no flavor/super bland on the inside with just the chicken meat. The egg tofu with spicy meat was good and pretty big portion for two. We had some leftovers. I'd get this again if I ever came back. The orange chicken was just meh. I've had better orange chicken. Our little boy who loves chicken didn't like it either. Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
The lighting is great! The service is amazing and the team took care of me. The food is very delicious!

Yelp
Came here with a friend to a busy line and it was really packed but we got one. of the last two tables. Good: - The egg tofu here was quite good - lots of flavor and not too salty - The staff were really nice - The space is well lit and it's a good quiet place to catch up - The prices are good for the amount you get! - You get a fortune cookie at the end of your meal! Bad: - Took a while for the food to come out - Chicken wings were pretty dry Overall, for the value this was a good place to go to!

Yelp
Love their traditional Cantonese Cuisine. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is old and dated, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Great "hole in the wall" type of place that people found out about on Yelp and Google. Everyone come here for the chicken wings.

Yelp
Probably the best fried rice I've ever had. Service was quick and good. The bbq pork fried rice was amazing!!

Yelp
Things change a lot in eight years. But, most obviously in the past 4 plus years. Up through the change in 2020, the original owners (actually the daughter and SIL) continued the business, mainly doing takeout for the next year or so. After about a year, they decided to sell the business to one of the staff (not sure whether the chef joined). The chef stayed and, otherwise, the change has not been dramatic. At some point after dine-in was not a practical option, the previous owners stopped offering a western food menu; this used to include plate lunches like corned beef and cabbage and prime rib which was actually prepared by the owner who usually only mans the front of the house. Now, the menu has been somewhat abbreviated with mainly Cantonese dishes, a variety of family style options and rice plates for the lunch crowd. They no longer offer a house soup with the meals. I have mainly been getting takeout from here, even through the challenging times in 2020. I'd often ask the lady owner to tell me what live fish were offered by the neighborhood markets and ask her to steam one for my family. The good news is that their staple menu item, the salt and pepper fried chicken wings continues to be available with the same recipe and made by the same chef. They do a brisk takeout business so do be patient when calling or dining in. I cannot comment on the dinner vibe as I only get takeout during the lunch shift. Looking to dine in around noon on a Tuesday at a place up the block, there was a line and I noticed most diners were either eating or waiting for their food. Here, the tables were half occupied but, since I was dining alone, I chose a counter seat near the cash register. I ordered the ox tail and dried bean curd over rice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jdscXlA7gbQVyAEtarGzGQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the flavors were good, a subtle five spice sauce. The ox tail pieces were medium or small pieces which I favor since they are easier to eat. The dried bean curds were tender without being too soft. The only items that I left were the bones, large green onion stalks, and ginger chunks. I was in and out of the restaurant in about 30 minutes, perfect to meet my next appointment. The dining room is pretty much the same as it was ten years ago. The crowdedness for lunch is moderate unless it's a holiday or tourist season. I will continue mainly to get takeout here but won't hesitate to pop in for a quick lunch.

Yelp
Amazing!! This food was sooooo good. You have to order the salt and pepper chicken wings... have to! So delish. The staff was super friendly and the place was packed! We got the last table at 6 and after that the line was out the door, so go a bit early.

Yelp
The chicken wings were a no for me. The look wasn't appetizing but I tried it bc my sister likes them. And I barely ate one. But the best time I tried were the salt & pepper shrimp! Crunchy, crispy, flavorful. Yum!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was great for a group of 6! We got to order several dishes, and they were all delicious. I especially loved the fish and tofu ones... so soft and flavorful! The place is very casual and the service is fast... which means the food comes out hot!
google avatar

Yelp
Serving up some classic Cantonese dishes that are great for a group / family style. I came here to get a "snack" and had to try their famous fried wings, which did not disappoint. I was SHOCKED when it came out as ALL FLATS -- what a WIN!!! They were crispy, well seasoned, and even held up well as left overs. The beef chow fun was also incredibly well cooked and not oily. The beef was tender and tasty and the chow fun was soft! I'm constantly on the search for the best chow fun in the City and I think this hits high on the list.

Yelp
I have been going here for over 10 years and the food has been delicious time and time again. The best place in SF for chicken wings. So give it a try fbecause you won't be disappointed.

Neleh H.

Yelp
This place is a whole vibe! Looks legit retro like where my elders hang out & food was homey and delicious. Despite Chinatown having a bad rep for rude Canto servers- the staff were incredibly accommodating to our big party needing more chairs, more food, more tea, more water- not rushing us. As a guest, I didn't do any of the food ordering but it was all delicious & well priced. Our local friends knew what to order & it was fast & fresh. Everyone loves the chicken wings of course- but my fave was a tofu dish, and their version of wonton soup. Also pea sprouts for the healthy portion. Will definitely be back
google avatar

Ray B.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the dishes we chose, but nothing stood out as extraordinary in the midst of SF Chinatown. Capital is your A-typical Chinatown restaurant but nothing to write home or China about. PS the tofu plate we ordered was delicious. BB

Yelp
Pretty average Chinese restaurant! Quite popular, but the wait times were quite short! The food was good but it wasn't anything crazy. Decent price for SF chinatown.

Yelp
I went to Capital Restaurant recently and it was amazing. Firstly the location was good because it was nearby the Muni station. Inside there are limited amounts of seats and, if you have a small party, you may have to sit with others. It is pretty quiet inside and peaceful. The food selections are vast and very tasty. The potstickers were crispy and very filling, and went well with the sweet and sour sauce. The wings were very good and the breading was very crispy. The fried rice was one of my favorites because it was one of the best fried rices I've had. The chicken corn cream soup was delicious and creamy. Overall Capital Restaurant is an amazing option to eat at in Chinatown and in San Francisco in general.

Yelp
I heard about Capital from friends and everyone says there chicken wings are good. I only ordered the chicken wings to go and they came out in reasonable time. One order comes with 12 good sized wings but they just had way too much salt on them. They were really crispy though. Not sure if would return for them, kinda pricey at $14.xx The restaurant is spacious and clean. Street parking only

Yelp
Diner/cafeteria ambiance at this quite excellent Chinese restaurant. There were other non-Chinese eating here, and the servers were friendly and helpful. The signature dish here is the fried chicken wings. These are supposed to be spicy, but except for the slices of jalapeno, they weren't particularly. They were, however, delicious. Unlike other restaurants, there is no sauce on these. They are dry and crispy and quite scrumptious. I got 11 on my plate, and they were all flats (mid-joints), which I prefer over drumettes. The other dish I tried was one recommended a lot on Yelp, the Hung Tao Ye Foo soup. This is a variant on won ton soup, crispy fried won tons in a seafood broth. The won tons are big and meaty, and thoroughly fried so they have that distinctive dark taste. After sitting in the broth for a while, they do get soggy, but the taste is still that of crispy. The broth is rich Cantonese broth: that is, not at all spicy, but so rich and delicious that you don't want to add anything to pep it up. It's got loads of white egg flower in it, plus little bits of shrimp, calamari, scallops, and mushrooms. My only complaint is that there wasn't quite enough seafood.

Yelp
One of the restaurants that has been a round for a while in Chinatown. This is the first time I have visited this restaurant. The restaurant is bright and looks clean. It was not that busy when we arrived and the moment after that it was packed. Looks like the most popular item is Salt and pepper Chicken wing as almost every table ordered that. We ordered chicken wing, the egg tofu with seafood and mushroom, and wonton and charsiu noodle soup. All are yummy. Service is a bit slow as we waited a while for our egg tofu and noodle soup. Price wise, it is reasonable and they accept credit card.

Yelp
tldr; casual restaurant with heaping portion sizes and extensive menu, arguably known for their fried chicken wings. come hungry! price: ~$30/person For two people, what we ordered was a heaping amount of food. While pricey, this meal was overall an excellent deal for the amount we ate. - Fried chicken wings: There were probably like 12? All piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Kind of smelled like McNuggets. Great for a large table, and way too much for two people. - Chinese Broccoli: Cooked to perfection and also came in a heaping portion. - Seafood Clay Pot with Tofu: Does not come with rice. Highly recommend the pots with the tofu since they soak up the sauce so nicely. Looks small but is also super filling. This place might be cash only, and the spot fills up quickly around dinnertime. Food takes a hot minute to come out but is worth the wait.

Yelp
Don't understand the good reviews . Went today and it was a huge disappointment. The service was spotty, lunch menu placemat had no prices and the food was less than mediocre. Lunch special I chose was 11.95 for a small amount of tough beef and bell peppers - no soup or salad or wonton - just the meat hidden under two scoops of white rice. They're supposed to be known for their chicken wings. Again, underwhelming - and certainly not worth $15! With beer - and no glass - bill came to $36. Never again . So many other better options nearby.

Yelp
Came on the day before lunar new year and they were PACKED! We waited about 10 minutes and got seated at the counter. Don't expect to have that much space between other people or fantastic service but they get the job done. We ordered the famous chicken wings (5/5), beef and broccoli lo mein (4/5), and sweet and sour chicken (4/5). I'm knocking the star down to a 4 given some of the average dishes and that it took us awhile to get our food.

Yelp
The egg tofu here goes crazyyyy. The texture itself is just sooo satisfying -- with a pillow-y, custard-like center and a tofu skin exterior that soaks up all the umami flavors of the sauce it's drenched in. Easily my favorite tofu dish I've had in years. Their salt & pepper chicken wings are also a must try! Incredibly crispy in the outside, juicy on the inside and well seasoned. Yet another dish with great texture and so much freaking flavor... I am obsessed. We also ordered the garlic pea shoots and the crispy noodles w/ seafood which were also so delish!! I'm already planning to come back asap because I cannot stop thinking about how good everything is. The wait staff are all super sweet and attentive even though the restaurant itself is quite busy. Be prepared to wait during peak times!

Yelp
I came here yesterday with my husband and a friend, whose father-in-law used to frequent this place back in the day--sometimes as often as twice day! She hadn't been back for many years, so we thought it'd be great to hit this place up for old times' sake. Now we wish we hadn't... What went wrong? Although Chinese restaurants are not known for service, there needs to be at least a modicum of pleasantry. You are running a business, after all. Customers are your lifeline. Our party of three were seated at a small corner table right by the sink. Due to the location and angle of the sink, a fourth person wouldn't have been able to sit comfortably. As we were sitting down, we noticed that the table behind us (with 4 chairs), was now vacant, though not yet bussed. We asked the waitress (bus-girl?) if we could sit there instead and that we'd be happy to wait until the table was cleared. Her surly reply in Cantonese was 'What's the difference? You're at a table of 4 and you're only 3 people." She then walked away and ignored us, proceeding to clear other tables (but not the one behind us, of course). In the meantime, a woman near us was trying to catch her attention to pay her bill. Ignored. Another table was trying to order. Ignored. We were trying to order. Ignored. Finally, a party of 2 customers arrived. Where were they seated? At the table behind us, which by now was finally cleared! At this point, it was clear our business was not important. I think Capital has been riding the "Our chicken wings are the greatest you've ever had!" train too long. And we wanted off. We gathered our things and went to Pork Chop House (aka New Lun Ting Cafe on Jackson Street) and had a nice homey meal. And by the way, their chicken wings are GREAT!

Yelp
not a fancy place by all means but the service and staff are great. staff are super efficient and accommodating. all the tables are always filled too, and the taste of the food backs that up. everything was pretty decent, although some dishes were too salty or too bland

Yelp
Tried their mushroom mixed vegetable egg tofu for takeout and it was tasty. The restaurant was still quite crowded around 4:30 pm on a Saturday.

Yelp
Love the food. With the food is still authentic. Parking can be difficult if you want to find street barking, but there is a parking lot down the street.

Yelp
This place is known for their fried chicken wings and trust me, these did not disappoint! Highly recommend these as they come out piping hot, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and topped with crispy garlic and green onions. We also ordered the chow fun with beef and the clay pot with fish in it. Everything was super tasty. They didn't understand my mandarin though.
