Rudest, unhelpful elderly gentlemen running it solo. If u asked a question he grumbled back and was confrontational. Thought it was just me until I witnessed this behavior while I waited for my food and watched him be horrible to the customer after me, for simply asking if the chicken came with rice already if he needed to order separately. Food tasted fine but i was concerned when I discovered a paper wrapper mixed in with my chicken. With the attitude towards cooking and the customers there and the wrapper in my chicken, let’s hope I don’t get sick on my upcoming flight…

I was unable to eat any of it. The rice was old, the kidney beans right out of a can, the chicken...I can't recommend any of it. Only one employee and a wait period of 20 minutes+.

I had the Pollo Guisado, which was decent for airport food, but I only got 5 plantains when I ordered an extra side dish of Maduros for $7!

Stay away! I got the sausage egg and cheese platter... seriously, How you screw up on sausage egg and cheese. The sad sausage appears to be old. The eggs are pre-made and they fail at melting the cheese on top of it when they try to heat it up. The worst are the home fries. They just diced it up and fried it. There are no favor at all. They seriously need to try their breakfast before selling it.

If you want good food, don’t go here. Between the u see prepared food and the attitude of the worker (just one) it’s not worth it. How do you mess up an omelette? How you make the omelette then just put the cheese 🧀 on to. Unmelted, still cold, looking back at you like umm 🧐 I just took it off SMH

Absolute trash. Even as airport food goes, this is bad. I ordered the Avocado egg sandwich which claimed to have White cheddar. It came with a slice of American cheese on a pre-frozen, DRY egg round. The bread was stale and hard, and the potatoes tasted if freezer burn. I’m repulsed and encourage NO ONE to eat here, ever, for any reason. I should have just paid for my “food” and thrown it directly into the toilet to save my tastebuds from torture. Also, the vegetarian option is fried in the same oil as the meat.

I'm a Delta loyalist, but the only direct flight to Puerto Vallarta was on JetBlue so I had to eat it. I felt like a fish out of water walking around in this unfamiliar terminal at 7am, petrified of the unknown. It's moments like these when you find out if you're a man or a mouse. All my normal, subpar goto airport meals in Terminal 4 are out of the question. After taking a full lap around Terminal 5 scoping out every last option, turning every last rock, we reluctantly decided on Caribbean Kitchen. My expectations for airport food are astronomically low, so when I pulled the trigger on this egg white omelette I was expecting a pre made concoction that was heated up for 60 seconds in the microwave. I was completely shocked when I saw the cook pour egg whites into a pan along with spinach, onions, and peppers to make the omelette right there in front of me. It came piping hot with a side of breakfast potatoes that were honestly pretty decent. The omelette was so good that I felt like I was in the Amsterdam or Barcelona airport, as those are the only places I have had a genuinely good meal in an airport. My Gold Standards. My Four Seasons of airports. All this to say, it's good to get out of your comfort zone. Change can be rough at times, but it's key to growth. Often times everything we've ever wanted lies on the other side of fear. Give the Terminal 5s of the world a chance, you may be pleasantly surprised....... IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

I'm from the Caribbean. This place does not reflect us well- at all. Walked up to the counter where the man was completely apathetic. Asked about ordering and he dismissively pointed out the counter equipment. Asked if the proteins included the sides, he couldn't or wouldn't answer coherently...said "same price". Tried asking in English and Spanish. Same result. Went to select sides and it's all a la carte, so now I'm looking at over $40 before tax or drinks into the process for a plate of some meat, rice and beans, with unfrienldy, "couldn't care less" type of service. I canceled the order on the machine and went elsewhere. You hear about rudeness in NY but it's hard to envision how bad it actually is until you come across service like this.

Thought it was closed at first but that was bec. the only person there, the cook, didn't stay at the counter. He just quickly pointed to the kiosk to place our order, which we did. We chose to stop at Caribbean Kitchen for a quick bite on the way out of JFK because there were food options I was able to eat. We got a roast pork to go which included rice, black beans and meat. My significant other ordered and we walked towards our gate. Once we sat we realized the gentleman working did not add the meat to the sides. Luckily we had enough time to go back and he kindly added it on top. Kind of annoying because he didn't forget to charge us for it. Regardless it was tasty and plenty of food for us to share before boarding. I wouldn't say not to try it just make sure you check your order before you walk away.

Not a lot of great options at this terminal. Despite my instinct, I went to the restaurant at the food court with the small (no line actually) when the others had long lines. The food was meh and the worker was mono syllabic and brusque. Should have listened to my gut!

If there were a way for me to give a lower rating than one, I would. First off, let me start by saying that a light skinned black female and tall thin black male were working when I was travelling a few weeks ago. We stopped there to get some food. We'd never been there before and it was the absolute WORST part of my vacation experience, stopping there. What a regret and waste of time and money. First off, both of them were probably the rudest people I've ever experienced. No greeting, no smile, nothing. We stood there for almost five minutes, including a woman ahead of us, as none of us realized we had to step up to the kiosk and place our own order. Finally, after she asked, they gave an attitude as if we should know that. Then upon having some confusion with how to order the specific meals, NO ONE offered to assist in any way. When asked, we were all ignored. DISGUSTING. Once we figured it out for ourselves and the food was set on the counter, our names were called out with the rudest tone. Like what is wrong with these rude people who apparently hate their jobs? After tasting the bland food, we asked if they had salt and pepper, ketchup, etc., and both said NO. Then my sister spotted the bucket with the salt and pepper and ketchup hiding behind the kiosk out of sight for customers. I would NEVER EVER go back there EVER. I would advise anyone who wants good food and courteous service with a smile and not cold nasty food and attitudes please keep moving past this establishment. You will only be disappointed. Terrible.

$18 for a pernil with no flavor, beans no flavor and the rice was bad too. How are you gonna charge that much for something that should be tops $7.99.
