Good fusion tacos, but not a lot of soul.
Recommended by a friend who visited via a local taco tour. We arrived around 1 pm on a Tuesday and the place was almost completely packed. As a standing-only spot, the "dining room" was just a loose collection of counters. The flow felt a bit chaotic, but once we managed to flag down a server, ordering was straightforward.
The core protein across the menu was pork, prepared or seasoned in different ways inspired by Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines. Each taco seemed to reference an iconic dish from those cultures, just translated into taco form.
The tacos were objectively “good”, but they felt like they were trying a little too hard to impress Americans. Maybe it’s because I’m Asian, but the flavor profiles felt overly familiar. More like something you’d find at an Asian fusion spot in the U.S. than a Mexican fusion taco. The tortilla was also a bit gagged by all the toppings and sauces, so the taco shell felt more like a delivery system for fusion mayo.
Service was slightly disorganized. Not necessarily a dealbreaker for a standing taco spot, but when there’s a default 10% tip baked into the payment screen (unless you actively opt out), the experience needs to feel tighter than this.
