Today, we surprised our supervisor with a birthday/bosses day lunch. I searched for restaurants in the Riverside area, and this one sounded very appealing, and the team voted on this one over other establishments. I have to say their votes were casted very wisely!
First, we arrived a few minutes before they opened, and a gentleman greeted me with a handshake, a welcome and open the door. Even though it was a little before 11 he did not hesitate, and was very accommodating to seating 15 people. They quickly got the tables together and provided an opportunity for all of us to share a meal, celebrate our supervisors, birthday and bosses day.
First thing that caught our attention is the decor, the upside down Christmas tree, and the various artistic pieces truly capture your attention. This is definitely a local owned place, which is very important. My only suggestion however, the ceiling fan blades needed to be cleaned. That was the one thing I noticed when I looked up.
Let's talk about the Service. I wish I had our servers name because she was phenomenal. She remembered everybody's drink order without having to ask and she was very patient was such a large table. She may spot on recommendations and maintain a great sense of humor when she had 15 hungry mouths to serve.
I had the calzone, which I will say was very good. (wished it wasn't cooked as Brown, but nonetheless, the flavor was good). Several of my coworkers got a slice or two of pizza and I have to say not only were they huge, but they were loaded with toppings! I almost wished I had done the pizza because it looked so good. I think the next time I go to Chicago crust is in my purview, because that really looked great.
Overall I love supporting local establishments versus chains, and here is a good reason why! The food is worth it, very surprised at how inexpensive and customer service you received and the ambience makes it worth your time to drive over.
