Dominick's - Review - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Summer in Ann Arbor is a rare species, so drink outside whenever you can. Dominick’s just so happens to be open only during the (mostly) warmer months. Order inside, claim your territory at a picnic bench in the back, and wait for your name to be called over the loud speaker. They’ve been serving drinks out of mason jars since before serving drinks out of mason jars was cool. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Where to Drink Sangria in Ann Arbor | Eater Detroit

"Ann Arbor townies and students alike count down the days until Dom’s opens for the summer season in March. The restaurant’s extensive backyard patio is best enjoyed with a mason jar of sangria in hand. The beverage comes in three sizes — pint, quart, and gallon." - Alexandra Schmidt

Google
I dont think people go here for the food :/ Service was nice, space is eclectic and unique but food was awful. It's like a 5 year old went through their fridge and then microwaved whatever they found. For being in Ann Arbor, I would have expected at least mediocre food. Again, i don't think that's why people come here (great college campus vibe). But if you are planning to come here for the food, I would look somewhere else.

Mario Campos

Google
I’ve been to Dom’s quite a few times this past year and all I can say is that that is a great place. The sangria is amazing. The food tastes very good. I would recommend to go with your group of friends and seat in the back patio.

Google
One of Ann Arbor's oldest continually running locales and underappreciated gem. I would definitely contact them for reservations if you're with a large group, but otherwise this is a truly peaceful charming space. People of all ages and backgrounds are warmly welcomed, just read the signs, follow their instructions for how to order and pick up your food and beverages and lean in to the experience. My folks have been coming here since the late 70s, early 80s, and we are so glad that this gem is still around. My secret tip? Don't pass on the food - the prices are super affordable and the portions are huge. Plus the food good.

James Goerke

Google
As a visitor to Ann Arbor I was taken here by friends. I found it amazing! It’s exactly the kind of American college town place we all know and love. We all have a Dominick’s of our own and coming here brought back all those feelings of good times.

Google
Very cute building. Staff was very friendly. Drinks are very good. But the food is not worth the price at all. Very average food. No servers which I wasn't expecting. And the man at the front door was not very welcoming and smoked a cigarette which blew in our face while we were eating which made the average food even worse. If you're coming just for drinks it'd be a great experience.

Google
It’s definitely more of a hangout and enjoy the sangria place than a dinner with the family place - overall, it’s hard to be disappointed with Italian food, but it was a little more expensive than I felt was reasonable. The young man who took our orders and then brought us our food was exceptional. I’d go back to get drinks with friends when it warms up a bit.

Linda Morfa Limonte

Google
The pasta with meat sauce and meatballs was unflavorful and the sauce was runny. The meatballs were Gordon food service tiny meatballs. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to some good homemade Italian fare. The olives were okay, the bread roll was the best part of the meal but was also Gordon food service fare.

Kristin McCutcheon

Google
This place is probably great for drinks and pizza, but it's too loud, crowded, and not great looking. Their pasta is terrible, their "house italian" on salads doesn't have a taste. Pesto pizza was fine and the drinks looked good, but otherwise, no. Not worth the money.

Yelp
This place takes me back to college only with good food. The place is clean and organized and the food was tasty. Great atmosphere!! I had to get going so I ordered to go and even out of the box and driving everything was delicious. I also met Dominick who was the owners son and he made the experience even better by telling me the history of this great find. I will be back every time I am in the area.

Yelp
Looks like the cool place to be if you're a Michigan student. This spot is right by the Law School and I came here right after school-wide commencement. Sangria was bomb. Highly recommend! Food was pretty good too. I ordered a meatball sandwich and it was 10/10 delicious. Sandwich was small and didn't come with any sides (thought it would with the price!) Felt more like a snack than a meal. Their outdoor seating area is cool and you can wait on their covered patio or in the sun while you wait for food. I think there's some indoor seating, but it seems a bit limited. Overall very satisfied with the experience and will try to hit up when I'm in town again.

Yelp
Dominick's is an Ann Arbor institution for sangria, pitchers of beer and basic cocktails that has been consistent for over 35 years. The food here has always been kind of a joke though. Definitely don't expect to go here for a meal. Nothing on the menu is notable, but that's ok. Everything is basically reheated frozen food. It's all about getting some basic finger foods or snacks to nibble on with your drinks. Just don't think of it as a restaurant. You won't find a better outdoor bar on a nice summer day. You definitely won't find any place in Ann Arbor with better sangria.

Yelp
Sangria and Constant Buzz: great, 10 out of 10 recommend. Antipasto salad: 9/10, not disappointed. Being rushed while ordering from an overwhelming menu written in chalk across three walls and then waiting to hear your name screamed across an old, crinkly speaker: 1/10. The set up is not my favorite, and the service could be improved. We have been several times because it's considered an Ann Arbor staple, but half the time we come we wonder why. Shaded seats on the back patio are coveted, especially since they keep the far back portion (full shade) closed until there are enough people sitting in the sun. None of it makes sense. Maybe that's why we come back.

Yelp
Dominick's is a great place to hang out inside or outside. The pizza is tasty and the drinks for freely. Everyone is kind and the vibe is great! We were there for Hash bash, it's a tradition. But I'd really like to go hang out on a slower day! There's two levels and lots of areas to hang out.
google avatar

Yelp
Did not even stay to have a seat. The restaurant was dirty and smelled like they haven't taken out the trash in days. Most of the tables had trash and miscellaneous items on them. I was looking for the Dominick's that I loved from my times at U of M. I wanted the smell of the comforting Italian food and received a rancid smell. What a disappointment. This restaurant is not an ethnic Italian restaurant. Stay away.

Yelp
A classic Ann Arbor spot. This place when I went to college was one of the best bars to go to for a chill evening or to daydrink. The sangria is what they're known for. I came with a friend during the daytime. There was a new drink - called the constant buzz so decided to order that and try it out. The drink was definitely on the sweeter side but with a hint of strawberry. It was huge though so definitely recommend sharing. I really liked that they were super nice about the drinks because the first constant buzz we ordered a wasp flew into the drink and we we barely two cups into the drink. The kitchen was super nice and made us a new one so we can enjoy the full portion. Classic spot and fun!

Rick V.

Yelp
Come to Dominick's for the vibe and the sangria. If the vibe doesn't work for you maybe find a chain restaurant that has 2 for 1 appetizers and $2 dollar drafts for happy hour. An Ann Arbor staple for decades and the opposite of "run of the mill"

Yelp
Do you fondly recount your fun-filled student days at Dominick's - where you'd go essentially to tip a few after class or, if you worked during school, after work? Thinking of re-living the good old days, but this time to actually have some food while you're at it? I was, and decided to include Dominick's as a stop on a nostalgia tour with my wife. Big mistake. We were greeted at the door by a grumpy old dude (maybe Dominick himself?), who brusquely pointed us to the menus and the walk-up order window. The people behind the counter were friendly enough, but the food wasn't great. The Italian sub was very greasy - the napkin it was on was saturated - and it consisted of two razor-thin slices of meat buried under a three-inch-thick bed of iceberg lettuce. The pesto sandwich wasn't much better, as it was very skimpy on the pesto and had only one, unconscionably thin slice of red pepper; only the slice of mozzarella cheese was ample. And no free pop refills? Really? Further, everything was overpriced, esp. given that there was no table service; you have to walk up both to order and to pick up. And even then, we had to go to the pick-up window twice, as they coundn't even have everything ready at the same time. Sadly, I guess you really can't go home again. I'd one-star this place but for the friendly people behind the counter and the outdoor-dining and people-watching experience.

Yelp
Best Sangria in Michigan! Maybe ever! A summer staple. The food is very meh tho, everyone comes here for the drinks. Note they are expensive but so worth it!
google avatar

Alexa T.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Constant Buzz! It's basically a strawberry smoothie. My friend and I got the pitcher to share. We also got chicken quesadillas and the spinach and artichoke dip. The quesadillas were good but I'd pass on the spinach artichoke dip.
google avatar

Karissa K.

Yelp
This one is a little bit of a mixed bag. Some of the staff are a little grouchy, and the food is okay. Really only come in the warmer weather months cuz the best seating is the outside courtyard. That all being said, the sangria and strawberry drink make it all worth it lol. I definitely come here at least a few times a summer. It's a campus staple.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great. The backyard seating feels very European, the food is good, but you certainly for the drinks. The sangria and Constant Buzz are absolutely delicious and are what they are known for. Some may dislike that Dom's doesn't have a website and no real social media presence. Sometimes, they're closed, and you'd only know by walking by. I think that's all part of their charm. Dom's is an AA staple, and is one of the few that seems to always be on top of their game! Only thing is they can improve their ordering system. They shout your name by loudspeaker, and being a bit hard of hearing, I know it's very easy for me to not hear them when the yard is crowded.
google avatar

Dominique N.

Yelp
Service was great. Owners were very welcoming. Pizza was good. Everything else was just okay such as the buffalo chicken bites, chicken nachos, and spinach and artichoke dip. Would not recommend the Philly cheese steak. It lacked flavor. If you're in the mood for pizza and drinks only this may be your place, but I wouldn't venture too much on the menu.

Yelp
Doms is THE place to be-- delicious sangria and beautiful patio space. However, since my own college days, they seemed to be a lot more lax with the IDs. I watched a teenager show her flimsy fake ID from Hawaii (LOL) to the bouncer who stared at it and let her go in. More funny than anything. The bouncer heard me laughing and said "she's the one breaking the law, not me". Ok dude! Doms is usually an older vibe but perhaps they're trying to make up for lost time with bouncers looking the other way. Just food for thought. Constant buzz was extremely sweet (more of a slushy drink) and definitely has less alcohol than the sangria. However, if you have a sweet tooth, it's tasty!

Yelp
Average bar and bar food but fun atmosphere. Your typical college bar. Worth going for the fun. Nice atmosphere great patio. 3 for me means better than average so I would recommend for a college bar experience

Yelp
Was in the area and wanted to go somewhere authentic and locally owned. We were blown away by the time walls which were filled with Olympic information and other random fun bits of knowledge. There are a few different places inside the restaurant to enjoy your meal at as well. The menu is large and you will see it written all over the restaurant in colorful writing to take in. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich with Mac and Cheese Bites as an appetizer, and my taste buds took a journey that carried me through the day. The service was extremely personable and they took time to tell us about their origins and what else there is to do in the city. Everyone in the Ann Arbor area needs to check this place out!

Yelp
Dom's is a classic hang out spot in Ann Arbor during the summer. This outdoor beer garden has ample seating outside next to plants and a water fountain as well as covered outdoor seating on its first and second floor. The biggest draw here are definitely the drinks - Constant Buzz and sangria. The Constant Buzz is an alcoholic smoothie. The sangria is super strong and juicy. You can get a gallon to share with friends or just get a pint/half pint for yourself. They also have food here - sandwiches, burgers, tenders, fries, etc. Dom's also takes free reservations! I made one here for an event I hosted a few weeks ago for a large party. When I arrived, there was clear signage and weighted party hats reserving our seats. I also forgot to check the weather that day and it had unfortunately started to rain just as I arrived. The owner graciously had everything set up under the covered outdoor patio so we could still have our event. Great hang out, would defs recommend Dom's!

Yelp
I used to come here for meatball sandwiches as a student in the early 80's. Came in for the football game recently and could not believe it was still here, as if frozen in time. Had the meatball sandwich again for nostalgia, and half gallon of beer with 3 other friends. We hung out in the back patio and I felt myself transported back in time. Thanks Dominik!

Yelp
Been here a ton of times, first review. Get the sangria. If you find fault with it, get over it and try to enjoy yourself, because it's good enough and you'll be drunk before you know it. Food is not great. A lot of it is straight from frozen and a little doctored up. My favorite selections are the bowl of olives, bruschetta, and some kind of caprese thing, which seem like fresh menu selections. Anything else and you may be rolling the dice on quality and you'll definitely pay too much. Make sure you leave before 10pm or risk being deafened by the terrifying sirens they deploy to drive everyone out. You've been warned. That said, there's a reason this place is usually packed. It's a fun place to be with friends and get lit, and that's why it earns 4 stars.

Yelp
I frequent Dominick's in the spring/summer/fall (well, when they're open, that is) and you can't beat the atmosphere on the back patio. You know that spring is finally here when Dom's opens up for the season and it's finally warm enough to sit outside and enjoy some sangria with friends. However, I can't overlook the negatives. The sangria, although strong, is expensive. A half gallon is $32, and probably enough for 4 people to have 2 glasses each. As a college student, my friends and I usually drink a lot more than 2 glasses each so I leave feeling like I spent too much money. But the worst thing by far was last summer, I came here with some of my family as a fun outing after dinner. We ordered pitchers and sat down only to realize that they closed in 30 minutes. We couldn't forget it either, because they were announcing over the loudspeaker every 10 minutes that they were closing soon. Waitstaff kept coming over to ask if they could clear our glasses and, I kid you not, at 10:00pm on the dot they started playing loud siren noises over the speakers. I was embarrassed that I had brought my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousins to what I thought was a classier place than this. We chugged the rest of our sangria and left, and could STILL hear the siren noises 2 blocks away. Imagine living next door to that place!! I don't know if this happens frequently because I've never been there til close before, but dang! How rude. I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 1 because their sangria is good and so is the constant buzz (another drink you can get a pitcher of). There's also nothing like the atmosphere of this place Ann Arbor. The memories with my friends on the patio are something I'm going to look back on fondly someday. But JEEZ, don't be so rude at closing time!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the best spot in Ann Arbor to have an afternoon cocktail. Sangria's are delicious great craft beers, and the Constant Buzz is awesome but be careful it hits you hard. Food is ok but this place is more about a great setting and mind blowing drinks. Have fun, be cool, enjoy. During the annual Hash Bash this is ground zero

Zorgdon W.

Yelp
I got the eggplant parmasean and added Italian sausage. Yes I'm that guy. The dish was timeless. I will return.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
This place is pretty fun and the sangria is so affordable! I went there with a friend for the first time because we heard so much about it and experience was really great. Even though there was a long line for food we got through relatively quickly and found seats that were outside and awesome! The only downside to this place is that it is pretty loud and always really busy. But if you were looking for a interesting place to go, really delicious sangria, and pretty good food I would try this place out. It is a great place to go with a group of friends or just to hang out for something casual.
google avatar

Yelp
Dom's is a great spot close the law quad and the Ford school. There's plenty of seating outside, upstairs, or on the back patio. They check IDs at the door before you go in and order. Once you're in, you order at the window. They have pasta, appetizers, and other munchies if you want. I almost always order either the sangria or constant buzz. Both are good. If you order one of the larger mason jars, they'll give you smaller jars to pour into/split. They'll announce over the PA system when your food is ready. Dom's closes for the winter months, but then reopens the Monday after spring break. I always love stopping here and getting a drink with friends!
google avatar

Charles B.

Yelp
$17.50 for a mason jar of iced Vella with one piece of orange is 1. not Sangria and 2. a grotesque mark-up. There's literally a dollar's worth of bad wine in there. This place is grossly overpriced and they solicit tips even though there's no table service, which is an injustice to servers everywhere. Coasting on old A2 nostalgia for a city that's long gone. The food is totally unremarkable but fine.
google avatar

Val S.

Yelp
I was back on campus doing recruitment and thought this would be a nice mid-day pit stop. My only regret is that I was working, so I couldn't enjoy a sangria. Parking: Godspeed. It's on campus in Ann Arbor. You can roll the dice with street parking, but honestly after a constant buzz, I wouldn't recommend driving. My order: - Chips and guac. They are nacho chips. Guac is solid. Not spicey. - Chicken Parmesan sandwich: Doesnt come with any sides. I wish the chicken was breaded, but it was homemade and very good. - Diet coke: Very sad. Wanted to drink. Service was very good! Of course, this was the middle of the day. This place is sometimes crawling with students and other events, and I was one of the only people there. Of course I'll be back. This is one of my favorite watering holes. The pizza is always excellent, and it's a great casual place to hang out with friends. (Make sure you're all 21, sometimes they card at the door) Dont expect anything fancy, this is a classic and casual Ann Arbor establishment. There's no AC so it got a little toasty. But it adds to the vibe. I bought some postcards too. Might go take a nap now. I'm very full.
google avatar

Gary B.

Yelp
We used to go here a lot when I was in law school, but that was a long time ago so I will review it the way it is now. Located directly across a side street from the nice looking law quad. Parking is a few street meters and difficult. It is styled to look like a Villa, covered front porch table area, inside some seating room but mostly a main ordering of booze and food area and a sometimes open cash bar area. Large area out back, and upstairs some more rooms that are open at times. A variety of pub type food, leaning towards Italy inspired, small craft brew selection, and mainly the mainstay drinks of sangria and frozen drinks. Decent prices, designed for mostly groups. Good mix of undergrads who are old enough, professional/grad students, and old timers. Plan to be here a while sipping alcohol and eating slowly, in a group.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
Hidden in plain view is this unique place! Wow it has such a cool vibe and the outside patio is great for a bigger group or hanging out with students and locals, there's a fountain and plenty of picnic table seating. The sangria here is famous and for good reason, it's tasty and fruity!! I had a hard time picking something to eat as the menu is pretty big and everything sounds and looked delicious. I finally decided on the Ravioli Portabelli and was blown away, I love mushrooms/cheese and this did not disappoint! We came early on a summer Saturday for lunch so we didn't have a hard time finding street parking, you just have to pay the meter. I imagine this place is packed at night during the school year, so be sure to plan ahead.

Lars C.

Yelp
Constant Buzz and a pizza. Like being in your neighbors backyard catching up with friends and family. An Ann Arbor tradition!
google avatar

Ashleigh S.

Yelp
Come for the patio, stay for the strawberry alcohol smoothie goodness. I recommend getting there earlier in the evening and snagging a table on the back patio. Get a pitcher of the signature smoothie alcohol drink (I don't remember what it's called, but you'll know!). You have to order at the bar before you sit down and pick up your food when it's ready, but it adds a nice casual ambiance to the place. We ordered the pizza and it was good - not the best I've ever had but pretty good. Sangria was also nice, and I'm impressed by their tap list. 4 stars, because it's really their patio and their location that make them shine. Not sure if they ever do live music but that would be a great add!
google avatar

Jena D.

Yelp
Step 1: Buy a sangria. Step 2: Buy a Constant Buzz. Step 3: Mix them together. Step 4: Have yourself a lovely afternoon on the patio.

Wally G.

Yelp
Attractive courtyard for fun and friendship. Excellent beer. Food was passable. Pricey for the quality. Would go again for friends, fun and drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been enjoying this place since Autumn of 1961, when the Italian Sub was 75 cents, and Dominick His Own Self was running the place. His son is the current maitre'd and the food and drinks are just as good (or funky, truth to tell) as they were in the olden times. Mason jars for booze? Of course! Best to go between 2 and 5 pm to avoid long lines and long waits for your food to be prepared. And by all means, add a tip when the write-up person takes your order. And order the sangria with 'light on the ice'. And if you're wearing a tie...take it off and relax and enjoy the unique experience!
google avatar

Blaise B.

Yelp
This is one of those rare times where this place does have a few detractors, but the place itself is just so wonderful that I can't give it less than five stars. Beware that they basically open for the season whenever they deem it to be warm enough, and close whenever they feel like it's getting too cold. Dominick's is downright magical on a beautiful summer day. Really any of the spaces are great- the front deck, upstairs balcony, or backyard. If you and at least one other person agree on it, order the constant buzz. It only comes in a big ass jar, but it's delicious. If you're on your own ordering-wise, get the sangria. It's delicious and comes in many different sizes. The food at Dominick's is fine. It's really overpriced for what it is, but it gets the job done. I'd rather get dinner somewhere else and just come here afterwards for drinks if I have the time.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
Still the campus staple of UM - Dominick's is an institution that (hopefully) will never retire. Across the street from the law quad - Dominick's is a close walk from anywhere, but if you must drive, there is plenty of street parking, all around. Just watch out for the students. Patio, indoor and basement spaces make Dominick's great for groups and large parties. The basement is a little confined but deceptively large. Casual order window and they do accept credit cards. There are tons of recommendations from other reviewers, however, I haven't found an item to warn off a new visitor. Summertime in Ann Arbor must include an evening on the porch at Dominick's. Take some friends and plan ahead not to drive. The Sangria will sneak up on you.

kim d.

Yelp
Used to be unique, fun and affordable back when Dominick ran things. Now it's just kinda sad. Super overpriced. Tipping is strongly encouraged although they provide zero service. Atmosphere nice as a student, but what student can afford these prices? Even though I have good memories of the old version, I have to slap myself when I think of going back. Take a picnic to the Arboretum and have a better adventure.

Yelp
Pros: constant buzz, sangria, beer garden Cons: price, quality of food As someone who never went to U of M I have no allegiance to this establishment. Its a fun pkace to go to sip on sangria in the beer garden or on the porch. It has a fun ambiance with a variety of walks of life. Sometimes the patrons are pompious, lame, or jerks. Other times you get friendly and chatty folks. Everything is pretty expensive for what it is, so that always weighs heavily on my decision to go somewhere. The food is okay I guess, but you get much bigger bang for your buck elsewhere. I kind of settle on eating here, then have silent regrets upon receiving my bill. Im closing, I suggest scoping this place out. You may fall in love with the drinks, ambiance, and beer garden.
google avatar

Brittany F.

Yelp
Dominick's was good for what it is. A pizza place on a college campus, I went early in the day on the Friday of move in weekend. The ambiance is really cool, the servers were super nice. It wasn't crowded but wasn't empty either. I totally recommend the 50oz constant buzz. It just tastes like a strawberry daiquiri but when you stand up, it's a whole other story. Probably because it has about 6 different liquors in it. Well. We ordered 2, between 3 people... and a pizza. The pizza tasted like one i would make at home. The crust was good, the sauce and toppings, also. Would I go again? Probably won't have the opportunity to, but if I did, I wouldn't say no.
google avatar

Charmaine C.

Yelp
Made my second pilgrimage. Got the sangria again, but this time it tasted more like juice on top and alcohol at the bottom... perhaps it needed to be mixed better? Also it really is expensive here! Was also a bit annoyed that the bouncer was smoking when we went in, and checked our IDs while still smoking. I'm sensitive to smoke (eyes water, gives me a headache) and having to stand near a cigarette for the check was annoying. I got confirmation of the excellent Italian chicken wings from two friends I was with, though! #bestwingsinannarbor?
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Loved sitting on the upper patio and sipping the sangria. Great place with great history. I can understand why people love coming here every summer!
google avatar

Billy J.

Yelp
The joys of drinking outside... So this place is a really nice place to go to on a hot day. When the sun is out, the Sangria will start flowing. They really have 2 kinds of Sangria, the good stuff (pricy) or the bad stuff (cheap). I would recommend the good stuff, but have a friend buy a gallon jug of it. This way you get the best of both worlds, Good Sangria at the cheap price (free). The pleasant surprise is the workers here. They all look like some kind of murderers, this adds that charm to the place. Maybe not if your a lady. Do not go here when its raining. Rainy days are no fun here.

This place is such a staple and icon in Ann Arbor and if you hear people talking about good sangria and outdoor seating, no doubt Dominck's ranks pretty much at the top of the list. It's a great bar, great seating outside, can get very crowded but that's only because it's so popular. Their food is only so-so, but their staff and drinks make up for it. Plus, it's good food to eat when you're drinking! A definite must on any bar crawl, team outing, etc if you're in Ann Arbor!

Yelp
This is a local gem in Ann Arbor, a great place on a hot summer evening for ice cold sangria or house special 'Constant Buzz'. The food is about bar quality, its not terrible but its also not bad. They offer mainly Italian options (pizza, pasta, etc) plus other pub type food like wings, nachos, sandwiches and more. Stop by and enjoy!

Yelp
It's an unseasonably warm (well, based on the erratic and entirely unpredictable Michigan weather) Wednesday afternoon. It's the end of April. Classes have ended. Students are spilling into the streets with sundry housing items (e.g., beds, boxed fans, tv's) that they're craming into their parents' bloated SUVs. Those old enough to drink, those who stay city-bound, and those who work professionally as adults stay behind and watch from the porch of Dominick's - an open-seating ranch-style house with a front porch, and upper-deck and a backyard with a water fountain. The porch overlooks several dorms and campus buildings with jealous underage students peering back at the drinkers. The semester end catharsis is sweeping the place. Everyone is in good spirits while drinking spirits. This place is, essentially, made by its fantastic outdoor seating, which is conducive to a wild crowd on summer evenings. It's like porch drinking coupled with a house party. And there's charming little nuances to the place like their propensity for serving drinks out of mason jars. The drinking options are limited: beers and IPAs, house wine, sangria or the constant buzz - a delicious fruity concoction that you can only order in a 50oz shareable container. I deduct one star for the lack of margaritas or other sweet, summery outdoor drinks.

Yelp
I hate to say it, but this place is not good at all. Maybe 30 years ago it was passable but now it seems to be coasting by on a storied history and Digiorno's pizza. Literally. I think they did serve Digiorno's because it tasted just like it, came out way too fast, and was served on the same exact pizza-sized, white round piece of cardboard that Digiorno's comes on. Also the pizza cost 30 dollars. For Digiorno's. And the beer was $7 for a small and warm beer. The atmosphere is vaguely interesting but the service is terrible, the drinks are terrible, the food is terrible, and the price is waaaaaaay too high for the garbage they serve. And the portions were small. Also, not really their fault but there's a 90 percent chance you'll have a flock of sangria-drunk hens yelling in your ear from the next table over. Do yourself a favor and go to Pizza House.

Yelp
Love this place! Sangria is the best! Seating is the back is gorgeous, and wish I would have know that a little sooner. The only down side is I wish they were open year around.

Yelp
Dominicks, I have been going here for years and I love this place But its not for everyone. There seems to be alot of disinformation on this site so let me clear up some facts. ---yes dominicks is seasonal they open the first week of March and close the last home football game. ( usually sometime in November .) --Dominicks is a little pricey but what would you expect from an ann arbor resterant. ( I don't know if you noticed but ann arbor is a pricey town.) Alot cheaper than zingermanns and other resterants though. --There is no waitstaff. Its a self serve place. and sometimes you have to wait in line. personaly I don't mind. The most I've ever waited on a busy day was 15 minutes. --Alot of people say the food here is gross. Maybe they had the wrong thing or something was made differently then they expected but they have hands down the best subs in town. The best pizza ( entirley made from scratch ) quesadillas and tomatoe brushetta are also good along with the ravioli pastas and salads. --yes, Dominicks can get very noisey but its all part of the experience. There is a P.A. system in the place calling out orders and when its packed its noisey . does nt bother me. --Dominicks does have a siren they blast at 10 p.m. because thats when they close. Its the most effective way to get drunk people out of there. In all honesty if you hear the siren you should have been gone 10 minutes ago. In conclusion Dominick's is an original part of Ann Arbor that everyone should try . Good sangria, Good local beer, Constant buzz, Great Pizza, and a good atmosphere.
