"A modern Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles providing a unique culinary experience with a blend of traditional and contemporary dishes." - Matthew Kang
"It’s a stunning brunch experience at Casa Madera with its LA Basin views, Tulum-influenced design, and dining room that demands that diners “relax, drink, and eat.” It’s easy to understand what the operators are going for with Mayan pancakes, guacamole, plus a raw bar with hamachi paired with sliced serrano chile. The cocktails are bright and strong like the house-made Michelada, and the charred pineapple tepache with a shot of mezcal, lime, grapefruit zest, and lemongrass." - Eater Staff
"The rooftop of the Mondrian is a sight to behold. Casa Madera takes full advantage of the panoramic view while serving cocktails and coastal Mexican flavors. Start with a ceviche blanco with habanero then dive into a brown butter dover sole with chile de árbol. It’s open until 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays." - Eater Staff, Matthew Kang
"Casa Madera is a massive, clubby restaurant on the Sunset Strip, hailing from one of the world’s great epicenters of Yucatan culture…Toronto. Jokes aside, this place is totally serviceable, and if you’re looking to put on a risque outfit and get a little wild with friends on a Friday night, it’s great. Serving as the ground-floor restaurant of The Mondrian, Casa Madera’s patio is undeniably beautiful with white wood accents, hanging flowers, and very impressive views of the city. The food is fairly average clubstaurant-type food (save for a flavorless burger, which is just plain bad), so we recommend keeping it simple and sticking to ceviches and tacos. And then load up on the real reason you’re probably here: margaritas. Which thankfully are quite good. " - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren
"For decades, the Mondrian has continued to attract visitors to its iconic Sunset Strip location. It’s got glitz and glam in droves, especially now that the Tulum-inspired Casa Madera has taken over the rooftop. The menu ranges for every type of diner, with chicken al pastor taco platters alongside a 44-ounce bone-in Wagyu tomahawk for $295. But the views are truly exceptional." - Eater Staff, Mona Holmes
