For being so close to the border, it's pretty hard to find ultra-delicious and authentic Mexican food made from family recipes. Mass produced chains, even if "family-owned," just don't have the full flavor that satisfies. We came across Casa Reynoso while looking for Carne Asada near ASU. Not only does it not disappoint, but right-down one of the best we have ever had!! Full of flavor, ample portion, and generous sides to compliment the dish.
Of course, you need a cold tasty Margarita to enjoy a proper Mexican meal. Try the "skinny" which is equally satisfying. Or more to my taste, a cold cerveza. Dos XX Amber and Lager on tap as well as other selections are available.
Service is friendly, quick and knowledgeable. If you are fortunate enough you may end up with Alexandra, the founder's granddaughter, as your server. With an ear-to-ear smile and full menu knowledge, you will be in great hands!
But more about the menu. If you like Menudo, you will get a hearty bowl here. And the tortillas are big, warm, and delicious!
I will update the review as we try more dishes, but it is very hard to pass on the Carne Asada. However, be sure to save room for the Fried Ice Cream. Trust me, it is worthy as a meal all by itself!
Be warned though, all good things are worth waiting for. And like most establishments, Casa Reynoso is suffering from staff shortages. But to their credit, rather than seat you and have you wait at a table, they only seat those they are able to serve. You are welcomed to wait if you choose, and yes, it is worth the wait!
