Google
Stopped by for a late lunch and chose this place because of the good reviews. I was not disappointed. The service began within about 2 minutes of sitting down and my server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef chimichanga with beans and it is one of the only chimichangas I have that was actually crisp like it is supposed to be! Usually they get soft and mushy but this was crisp and perfectly cooked. Generous amounts of sour cream and guacamole were included. The shredded beef was tender and well cooked. Overall, very satisfied. Would definitely go back.

Google
A true gem owned by the same family for over 40 years. Food is excellent and made with with fresh, authentic ingredients. Service charming by family members. Atmosphere has home town feel with soft Mexican music. This is the perfect Mexican restaurant! Go there and enjoy.

I went in on Sunday. This place had some good food, the servers were attentive, and the restroom was very clean. It's been a long time since I've been this impressed. Thank You so much. I'll be back soon 👍

Google
The staff here are so warm and welcoming! The food is so delicious! We had the Enchiladas rojo y verde, the tacos, and the carne asada. The prices were excellent and the entire experience was lovely!

Google
I totally recommend this spot. I had the red chile enchilada with rice and beans, and everything was super tasty, especially the sides. I’m already craving them again.

Google
I loved my food but my wife didn’t care for the dry chunks of meat in her burrito. The cheese crisp was good. The waitress needed a friendlier disposition and to pay attention to the details.

Google
New here to this establishment, chose this place based on reviews…… HOWEVER, I’m here just to be informative. I was on the hunt for a great bowl of menudo. Reviews said best in town; say less. I call ask for 2 large to go, get home and the large is just under the brim of my son’s cereal bowl. So “large” is not big at all (and was not worth the price) However I feel from seeing pictures you’d receive more if you dined in. Otherwise food is good, place was nice, and service was pleasant too.

Google
I love coming here. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Today, I ordered the Gollo Burro Enchilada style. It was so good. I will definitely order this again.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Awesome service! Yummy food! Friendly staff! One of the favorite spots to meet up with friends after a long work day!

Yelp
I definitely recommend this restaurant, I had the red chile enchilada with rice and beans. The rice and beans were very good specifically and I'm already craving them again. I would definitely dine here again, everyone was friendly and the portion sizes are fair for the price.

Yelp
great food as always If they would make their salsa more chuncky and a lot milder it would be perfect

Yelp
This was a recommendation from a friend and was a really great spot for my day trip up to Phoenix! I got the Red Pork Tamale and the Green Chile (Green Corn) Tamale, along with a side of rice. The portions were great for the price point and the food was all delicious. It's a very cozy spot and luckily I was able to get a table right before the lunch rush. The service was great, with our server being incredibly attentive. I would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
Ok guys, this is getting out of hand. When did it become sensible to charge $46 for two large sides of rice and one side of hot sauce?? Correct answer... It's not sensible. That's insane. Didn't get the price until we picked up the food as the prices were not listed on their website menu.

Yelp
I just sat at the bar alone for 20 minutes without a water or any acknowledgement of my existence other than getting dirty looks from the employees when I said hello to them. The hostess did say it would be 5-10 minutes before I was helped, but after 20 minutes all I had was a collection of dirty looks and not a single word spoken to me. If you Don't want people to dine at the bar just tell them no. This is honestly the worst I've ever been treated in a restaurant. I can't even comment on anything food or drink wise as I didn't get anything but attitude and that was quite bitter.

Yelp
A friend recommended this restaurant and so we stopped in. It is kind of hidden in the back corner or the strip mall, but is very nice inside. Everything is clean and fresh and inviting. Service was excellent and the food was good. Pretty typical Mexican fare. Good flavor. The beef taco was very good with shredded beef and the tortilla fried perfectly. Portions (like so many places these days) were on the small side. Nice to have a good Mexican place to go to now and then.

Yelp
Great customer service got chips with out really even asking and are drinks as wells .... But Iv beeen here several time I like there chips and salsa and there cheese crisp I just wish they had more to there menu ... I feel like you don't get ur money worth with the food anymore the tamales beef taste weird Iv had better and the cheese enchiladas that come with the combo has like no cheese and it's the tiniest thing you have ever seen ... I think I still my with favorite Mexican restaurant that give you more bang for you buck ..... sorry food meh

Yelp
ALWAYS great food, fast and friendly service, and a warm family atmosphere. It's our all-time favorite Mex in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Really solid Mexican food place. My waitress was awesome - making recommendations from her "secret menu" to spice up dishes. End result was me landing with a green chili machacha (steak mixed with tomatoes, peppers, and onions) enchilada. It was great! I left absolutely stuffed. Also - ever important to note - there was free chips and salsa. And the salsa was delish!

Yelp
This place is SO GOOD!!! First, we were greeted by younger gentleman who was new (might have been his first day) and he brought us out two large margaritas- they came in a normal glass but were perfect size for us (you can order a smaller one). And we enjoyed some guacamole to start. The chips and salsa at the table were really tasty too; the chips tasted fresh and they were warm. It was wonderful. We each ordered plates - mine with a chile relleno and an enchilada and hers with a chile relleno and a burrito. Both were SO GOOD. They came with rice and beans and a bit of shredded lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. It tasted like home style Mexican and my friend coming from Milwaukee loved it because they don't have authentic flavored Mexican over there. The music was great, it was a nice mix of "oldie" Mexican and also some newer Jams, I loved it. And the art and decor was lovely, the Christmas tree was still up and so beautiful on the way out, we took a cute picture. Overall, I enjoyed Casa Reynoso quite a bit. Excellent and attentive service. Very tasty authentic Mexican food, and chill enjoyable vibes there. Definitely will come again when on this side of town!

Yelp
Decor? Gorgeous but simple. VERY clean. Service? So fast but not overly friendly. Water never went empty, chips and salsa refilled without being asked, quick food delivery. Just no smiles, no conversation, and very little clarity on the bill (we all paid separately which I know is a pain). Food? Was good not great. Salsa had okay flavors but was way too mild (one type of salsa). Red chile was again lacking in heat but unfortunately also in flavor I'm used to. The Machaca taco was the star being perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tostada was unfortunately boring and soggy. My biggest issue? I absolutely HATE when places charge a fee for using a card to pay. I'm already paying your prices willingly knowing that it's already an up charge and I'm going to tip, but now you're charging me 3.25% card fee? NOT A FAN. This is the largest card use charge I've ever had. Will go back for friends who like it but wouldn't pick it on my own.

Yelp
Took 45 minutes from our resort in Scottsdale. We left at 4:15pm. Why did we come at the height of rush hour? Cuz it was due to a friend's recommendation who's a local. Otherwise I don't think we woulda make the trek. We were a party of twelve. All must be present before we could be seated. A huge shout out - 5 stars for Alisa, our server. She initiated "separate checks" request. Six couples who weren't even sitting side by side as we were separated by girls one side and boys on the other. She tracked our orders using our names of each couple. And had logical answers when we questioned the amounts as we each got our bill. As for the food - both hubby & I ordered the gollo burro as did four others in our group. The gollo burro burrito being voted #1 on the menu. Alisa suggested we order it wet with melted cheese on top. I cut mine in half knowing I was only going to eat half. The half I ate there were only two tiny chunks of pork. (This a.m. I had the other half. Two chunks of pork). And without the melted cheese the burrito would have been kind of dry. So much for the number one voted burrito. Fortunately I had a Modelo to go with it. For the table - we shared the cheese crisp and the green chile pork crisp. It's an open faced quesadilla. Yummy. It was served on pizza platters. Hot cheesy and very crispy. Others in our group ordered various entrees. Overall the dining experience was nice because of the crowd I was with. I don't plan to make the trek again. Pro tip: they charge 2.8 percent if you use a credit card. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking.

Yelp
By far the best Mexican restaurant in Phoenix. I was thinking the other day, its kind of sad how i've lived here my whole life and if you ask me to name the best Mexican restaurant, I can hardly think of any. We're close to the border we should have endless great sit down mexican restaurants(not talking taco spots). But we don't IMO. But this one is it. I've been eating here for 13 years. and unlike some other hyped spots which were good in 2014 which I won't name, this one actually delivers. Every single time. Plus it being family owned and operated is cool. My wife and i have been trying all the renowned mexican joints around the valley the past few months and we always come out disappointed and wishing we had come to Casa Reynoso. The chips and salsa slap every time. The rice is incredibly delicious and the beans are just amazing. My go to is the enchilada, taco and tostada combo. But everything i've tried here is great. This place delivers on the 3.5 ethnic restaurants being the best ones. The 4.5 type restaurants are gringo catered fancy bland food. This is that real mexican food.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals in AZ....the Gollo Burrito!!! Green Chile Verde pork, onions, refried beans and butter...green enchilada style of course. The restaurant is tucked back in the corner of a strip mall and is family owned. Lots of seating inside and everyone is very friendly. I've been coming here for 15+ years....just for the Gollo (it's that good!).
google avatar

Yelp
Best place in AZ no question! The salsa is incredible, the food is amazing! They are family owned and has been in the same location since the 80's. Best food ever!

Yelp
Visiting Scottsdale on a group golf trip. We trekked over to Tempe (over 45 minutes in commute traffic) for dinner at Casa Reynoso on a recommendation of a local Arizona resident that this is her favorite Mexican restaurant. There was 12 of us and they do not take reservations and do not seat you until everyone is there. Plenty of parking and it is easy as it is in a strip mall. They placed a "small" cup of chips for every 4 people. The salsa was too spicy for most although I liked it. We were told they charge $1 extra for every bowl you ask for refill chips? Not sure if they charged us extra or not because I did not see the final bill but most Mexican restaurants in our home town do not give you a small cup and then charge you for more chips? The #1 Gollo Burro was ordered by most of us. Our waitress Alisa explained the Special Gollo Burro which most of us ordered and it was actually quite a bit extra money for the Special Gollo Burro compared to the regular Gollo Burro that is on the menu. The Gollo was good but more a bean burro; very skimpy on the meat! The Cheese Crisp and Green Chili Pork Crisp is an open faced quesadilla. Very yummy. Hot and crispy like a pizza. The waitress Alisa was very nice and let us order by couple so each couple could pay their own bill. She even split the appetizer cheese crisps among the 6 couples to charge each couple. Alisa was a wonderful waitress for a big group. Overall dining experience nice. Food servings and taste is okay. Ambiance feels like a Mexican restaurant. Wether visiting or if I lived in Tempe, I would not trek over 45 mins to eat here. I think there is a lot of other Mexican restaurants that have just as good reviews. Only went because of the local recommendations. Tip: They charge 2.8 percent more if you use a credit card to pay your bill. This was only realized after Alisa brought back your final receipt to sign and you realize the original bill is different amount than what you were charged and asked to sign!

Yelp
Excellent food! Quick table service although kitchen was a bit slow during a busy period. Ambiance was great with soft music playing.

Yelp
We come to AZ from Cali often. We always try to find an authentic Mexican Restaurant and today we found Casa Reynoso. The food and service was amazing!!! We always judge if the food will be good based off of the chips & salsa. If those aren't good and the salsa is too watery then the food will be terrible. This chips and salsa was so good!!! The green chile was amazing, the rice and beans were so good. We're so happy to have found this place. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Natasha M.

Yelp
Beautiful interior with an authentic Mexican dining experience vibe. There was an expansive menu with plenty of combos and specials. I decided on the taco & enchilada. I enjoyed the cheese enchilada much more than the fried taco. The rice & beans were very typical. The frozen strawberry margarita hit the spot though. The service was kinda slow, but it was a Sunday afternoon. The server was kind though.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
First time here and cannot believe I have never been here! The Mexican food is authentic and delicious! Chips came out warm and salsa had a hint of spice, delicious flavor. The service was ideal, the waitress and hostess were very nice and friendly. And the prices are super reasonable! I had the cheese enchilada and bean tostada with rice and beans...everything was good. My friend really enjoyed the albondigas. My other friend enjoyed the beef tamales, cheese enchilada and bean tostada. They have something for everyone and we definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
This place charges an additional 4.95% on your bill if you're paying with a debit / credit card. Food & service was decent but this is Phoenix, AZ - there are hundreds of great Mexican restaurants all over the valley. With this ridiculous surcharge they might as well have the hostess flip you off on your way out the door - what a huge F U to their customers. This was my first (and last) visit. I won't be coming back.

Sean U.

Yelp
Solid food, solid price. The rest will not be filler for the text requirement. Dhdhhxbdhdh h h h h h h

Yelp
Hidden in the corner of strip mall, this long time classic Mexican place in Tempe/Mesa is still good. Our server was friendly, the margaritas were delicious and the food was great. I recommend the chili relleno and the enchilada. But their specialty are Burros, Burritos. Everything is spiced right. The decor is a little dated, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this great family restaurant
google avatar

Erma C.

Yelp
We visit Casa Reynoso, At least once a week me and my husband. Today we visited me and my mother and the service there was excellent. If I could give 10 stars I would. A young man by the name of Isaiah was quick. I could barely eat my salsa and chips And here he comes out so fast with the food. The food is amazing. I don't know any other place that makes food that is good as this Place. Without mentioning any other places, we get really bummed out with some Mexican places But Casa Reynoso never fails to serve an amazing meal as long as we have gone to Casa Reynoso. . I ate a Green Chili Burrito Enchilada style with rice and beans so good.
google avatar

Darya S.

Yelp
1- ordered the beef burro and menudo to go and they got my burrito order wrong, which I only saw once I got home. They gave me something that was cheaper and something I did not want. 2- the burro was entirely bread and had very little meat. 3- the menu is so overpriced. It's $8 for a small, and that's the size of my fist. You can get bigger and better for half that price elsewhere. 4- the menudo had barely any tripe in it. It was just water and sodium, lots and lots of sodium. 5- they have the nerve to charge you a 3% credit card fee, which is what the business is actually responsible for. Everything about this place was wrong.

David P.

Yelp
Food is outstanding. Service is awesome. Ambiance makes you feel right at home. You will not be disappointed. Lived in Tempe since the sixties. Best Mexican food hands down

Yelp
Family run restaurant since the 1930's . Very traditional menu . The salsa and chips were good and slightly spicy. I loved it . My wife and daughter enjoyed the chimichangas. I had the Gollo Burro burrito and a Red Chili Pork Tamales. The service was busy but did a decent job attending the table . For classics take on a traditional Mexican menu check this place out .

Yelp
For being so close to the border, it's pretty hard to find ultra-delicious and authentic Mexican food made from family recipes. Mass produced chains, even if "family-owned," just don't have the full flavor that satisfies. We came across Casa Reynoso while looking for Carne Asada near ASU. Not only does it not disappoint, but right-down one of the best we have ever had!! Full of flavor, ample portion, and generous sides to compliment the dish. Of course, you need a cold tasty Margarita to enjoy a proper Mexican meal. Try the "skinny" which is equally satisfying. Or more to my taste, a cold cerveza. Dos XX Amber and Lager on tap as well as other selections are available. Service is friendly, quick and knowledgeable. If you are fortunate enough you may end up with Alexandra, the founder's granddaughter, as your server. With an ear-to-ear smile and full menu knowledge, you will be in great hands! But more about the menu. If you like Menudo, you will get a hearty bowl here. And the tortillas are big, warm, and delicious! I will update the review as we try more dishes, but it is very hard to pass on the Carne Asada. However, be sure to save room for the Fried Ice Cream. Trust me, it is worthy as a meal all by itself! Be warned though, all good things are worth waiting for. And like most establishments, Casa Reynoso is suffering from staff shortages. But to their credit, rather than seat you and have you wait at a table, they only seat those they are able to serve. You are welcomed to wait if you choose, and yes, it is worth the wait!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
So the food is still great in my opinion, but they have an issue with not having enough staff. Many times there is a lobby full of people waiting for a table and half of the place is empty. They wont seat you until there is staff ready to serve you. Maybe too many free chips and soda while you wait? Also, I just can hardly afford it any more. I know there has been issues with things going up everywhere, but I got one bean and cheese burro, two regular burros (red chile mixed with beans) and a large hot sauce to go. No drinks, nothing enchilada style, no tacos, etc. Three burritos and hot sauce was $26.03 out the door. Yikes!!!!
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
I had recently heard about this place and my husband and I took family there to try it out... it did not disappoint! The food was great, prices were fair, serving sizes were good. Definitely worth the drive!

Diana O.

Yelp
The taste of the Chile verde with refried beans and a flour tortilla is excellent. It's as if mom cooked it at home.
google avatar

Dawn H.

Yelp
Overpriced..I don't think there was cheese in my cheese enchilada. Definitely no cheese on my small little very little shredded beef taco. Beans runny no whole or half beans in there for sure. So disappointed...
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
So I came to have lunch with my mom, it was my first time here, she had been here before but it has been awhile as she doesn't live in the area. I ordered a taco and tostada and was bummed when she brought out my food. My taco had no cheese, barely any meat and my tostada was mostly lettuce and very little cheese and I'm not sure if it was because it was piled high with cold lettuce that my entire tostada was cold. The only thing I can say about it was it was clean inside. I never brought it to the waitresses attention because she was barely around either. It's not in my area at all but it's not a place I'd run to or recommend.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
This is a happening place for a Sunday brunch. We headed here after I ran the Rock N Roll Arizona. I was famished and struggled through the long wait as there had been two large parties(birthdays) plus other brunchers. We were offered a basket of chips and a wonderfully hot red salsa. We weren't offered refills. Unlike other Mexican restaurants I have visited, the menu didn't list protein options. My daughter were satisfied with our combos, even if it's likely we ate red meat. it was down-home delicious.

A H.

Yelp
i've been eating food from this place for years and this was my actual first visit physically into this establishment because I used to order it from work all the time. I've never been let down by any meal, and it was the first time I was able to have a margarita the best ever! our server was very attentive. The host at the front desk was very welcoming, and the bartender who took our orders was fabulous. I have nothing but great things to say about Casa Reynoso!
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
It's been here for decades, this family-owned restaurant. I'm sure the rest of the menu is good... but for me, it's the Gollo Burro! This is the only place you can get one. Buttery flour tortilla, whole pinto beans in a great sauce... I love it.

Del E.

Yelp
Food is Excellent and the service was also outstanding. Great family owned business that cares for their customers. Great place to sit and enjoy a great meal.
google avatar

Ava G.

Yelp
IT'S GOOD, BUT..... They remodeled sometime during the pandemic, and it definitely smells like paint in the restaurant. I was not digging that! I got a small margarita, which was definitely smaller than I expected. See my hand for scale in the picture. Although small, it was a somewhat decently priced and very tasty! I appreciate that they bring a big vat of salsa with multiple small salsa bowls so that every person at the table can have their own personal salsa bowl. No double dipping into other peoples cooties! However, according to the menu it costs extra for more bowls of chips! I find that blasphemous for a local Mexican restaurant. I ordered the One Third Plate with red chili, and I got butter on my tortilla that comes with it. This dish is very solid, but the red chili doesn't leave any lasting impression. The tortilla was EXCELLENT! Remember that you have to pay at the front of the restaurant, and they do charge 2% for using a card to pay. I have never seen any other sit down restaurant put a charge for using a card. Heck, I've hardly seen any small take away restaurants charge for using a card. It's usually only for small orders. So this was odd. This restaurant just didn't impress me as much as it did on my last visit a couple years ago, back then I would have given 5 stars. Realistically I would give 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 because it used to be so good the last time I was here. I'm not digging the no free refills of chips and salsa, and the fee for using a card. I might be back, though!

Timothy H.

Yelp
The place looks a litte old and worn. Could use some refreshing. The wait was supposed to be 25 minutes we waited about 35 so not too bad. I was recommended this place by a friend. Took our order. Service was ok. Food was just ok at the most. Was a bit disappointed to be honest. Yelp don't allow half stars. I would actually give 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
My family and I attempted to come and try this place tonight (Friday 4/5) and initially they told us that it would be about a 40-45 minute wait, which we were ok with. About 45 minutes later we go in to se how much longer they then tell us it's going to be 20-30 min more. We waited another 15-20 min and went in to check again, it wasn't until then they decided to tell us that they were short staffed and that they couldn't guarantee onto when they would be able to seat us. They really should have been up front about the wait instead of lowballing it. Not to mention the last time we came in to check about the status the staff was rude. I understand that they were short staffed but still not an excuse to be rude to the customers. Definitely reconsidering if I ever want to try this place with this service.

Yelp
Best family business ever.. Good is so good and fresh. Been going here since I was a kid highly recommend going here. The burritos are so good the tamales I mean everything nothing going to disappoint you.

Cesar L.

Yelp
For starters the enchilada sauce was delicious. We also ordered the chicken taco salad and the chicken had a great taste. Overall, the flavors were as authentic as our mom's. Thank you Alyssa for making this a pleasant dining experience!

Woody L.

Yelp
Food was very tasty. We ordered a little bit of everything to get the full experience. Flan is a must try even if you are full.
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
This is my family's favorite spot. If we aren't cooking Mexican food at home from scratch, we come here. This location is amazing. They typically don't seat unless the whole party is here- just heads up. Highly recommend the green chili strip cheese crisp for the appetizer. The service is always amazing too!! If you're looking for great food, come here!
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
Overpriced and mediocre food! Ordered a small lunch catering for our small business and got absolutely taken to the cleaners. Save your money and time

Yelp
I don't know what's up with the low reviews this is the ONLY Mexican place I will eat at! Amazing amazing food and it's family owned and operated ! This family works so hard to run this place and the food is authentic and beyond delicious! I come at least 1-3 times a month and crave the chili relleno ! Give this place a shot ! You won't regret it
