Get to Know Boston’s 2019 Restaurant Openings, One Neighborhood at a Time | Eater Boston

"The North End probably needed another Italian restaurant like it needed another pothole on its streets. Casarecce is good, though, so it doesn’t matter that it’s joining a saturated market. The restaurant’s name originates from a short, twisty pasta shape typical in Sicily. Casarecce’s pasta is all made in-house, and it’s reasonably priced. It’s a good addition to a neighborhood that didn’t need it but is better for having it." - Terrence Doyle

Casarecce - Review - North End - Boston - The Infatuation

"Casarecce is a tiny, perfectly OK Italian spot on Hanover Street. It’s weirdly brightly lit like an art gallery, so make sure you look good if you’re coming here with a date. We recommend the namesake casarecce with slow-roasted lamb ragu." - Dan Secatore

Casarecce Ristorante Opens in Boston’s North End - Eater Boston

"Casarecce Ristorante is a new Italian restaurant that opened last week at 285 Hanover St. It serves house-made pasta with a focus on lesser-known shapes like casarecce, along with dishes like pappardelle bolognese, bucatini vongole, and casarecce with lamb ragu. The menu also includes appetizers such as calamari, meatballs, and bruschetta. The restaurant has a beer, wine, and cordials license. Casarecce is located in the former Pinkberry space and is a sibling to Pellino’s Ristorante." - Terrence Doyle

We had a pleasant experience here. Near closing time, the servers welcomed us inside and gave us a table right by the window, which was open to the street. We received great service throughout the whole meal, and we were not pressured to leave even though the restaurant was about to close. And most importantly, the food was wonderful. My chicken Parmesan was warm and hearty, with tasty chicken topped with a blanket of melted cheese and served with Casarecce pasta. My father enjoyed his lasagna, which was the perfect portion: not too large, but filling and of good quality. My mother ordered a dish that consisted of spaghetti with clams and white wine sauce, which she described as fantastic. Overall, this was a good experience at a small but hospitable Italian restaurant.

Google
What a Treat!! We had such a wonderful dining experience at Casarecce Ristorante! I started with a fresh and flavorful Caesar salad and followed it with their signature Casarecce Chicken Parm which was absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy and full of flavor. The kids enjoyed their classic pasta with butter (a win for picky eaters!), while our friends raved about the creamy shrimp risotto and the lobster & shrimp special of the day. Everything was beautifully plated and cooked to perfection. We’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend for a cozy, satisfying meal with family and friends.

Google
Service was great and the staff was super friendly. We had a reservation but still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The food made up for it though absolutely amazing. The lasagna was to die for! The space itself is cozy and charming, but the dining room felt a bit too tight and crowded with not much personal space. Still worth it for the food!

Google
Nice restaurant with well-made homemade pasta. The flavors of the Bolognese and the chicken vodka are decent, though not especially remarkable. The caprese salad is also good. Overall, it’s a solid choice, but nothing particularly memorable.

Google
We managed to get a last minute reservation. It was our first time in the North End and were surprised how much we enjoyed the food, the atmosphere. Casacere chicken vodka was interesting-the sauce was great but the pasta was new to us and a bit thick. Our favorite was the pappadrelle bolognese-it was the best!

Google
Cascaresa, nestled in Boston’s North End, offers a cozy, inviting atmosphere with all the charm you'd expect from a handmade pasta spot. The ambiance is warm and intimate, the kind of place you’d hope to stumble upon for an authentic Italian meal. Service was friendly and attentive, with staff who seemed genuinely proud of the food coming out of the kitchen. I ordered the pappardelle Bolognese — a classic dish that should showcase both the pasta and the soul of the kitchen. The pasta itself was excellent. You could tell it was freshly made: broad ribbons with perfect texture, cooked just right to hold the sauce without becoming soggy or overly soft. But the sauce? That’s where it lost me. The Bolognese was underwhelming. It lacked the richness and depth you expect from a slow-cooked ragu. The flavours were muted — not enough seasoning, no real warmth from the meat or sharpness from tomato or wine. It wasn’t bad, just… average. The kind of sauce that tastes like it skipped a few hours of simmering and a few ladles of love. In a dish that should be layered, hearty, and deeply satisfying, this version felt a little thin and forgettable. That said, the plate was well presented, and the portion size generous. The fresh pasta was clearly the hero here, but without a sauce to match, it couldn’t quite carry the dish to something memorable. Cascaresa has all the ingredients for greatness — a great setting, quality ingredients, and care in the craft of pasta. But for a dish like pappardelle Bolognese, where the sauce should be the star, it missed the mark. I'd come back to try other options, but next time, I’ll skip the Bolognese.

We tried this place for lunch while in the area visiting friends. We arrive before they opened but the waiter sat us anyway and explained that they were still setting up and got us some waters while we waited. We started with some meatballs that were unbelievable. The meatballs were so tasty and cooked to perfection. We ordered Casarecce, Sausage, and Broccoli Rapi and Casarecce Lamb Ragu. Both were very delicious and the pasta was cooked to perfection. You can tell a lot of care goes into preparing the food here. The server was very attentive and friendly and took the time to give a little history of the restaurant. Very small restaurant but just a great place to go for lunch or dinner or just some drinks. We found the restaurant clean as were the restrooms. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Very authentic Italian cooking.

Google
Such a nice spot, it was a beautify place with great food, seriously, I wanted to lick my plate. We had a party of 8, one with a wheelchair, and a baby with a bulky stroller, they were so kind! And made all of the accommodations we needed, even changed the AC for us too. They were so kind and the food was great!

Yelp
Ate here on a Monday night in winter - definitely the time to go...only a few other tables filled. We split the chicken cacciatore and mushroom ravioli, both were very good. The chicken was prepared closer to marsala than the tomato-based cacciatore I'm used to, but still good. My only suggestion - for an Italian restaurant, the wine-by-the-glass list is quite small and average. The chianti offered is not even chianti classico. Better offerings would be appreciated.

Yelp
Do not try to do a walk on a weekend, we had a reservation and we still had to wait (it has very limited seating so it makes sense that you'd have a to wait a little bit). They brought you bread with Parmesan and EVOO, nothing special and the bread for the bruschetta was very thick and not as toasted as we would have liked. Now onto the entrees, we got Chicken Parmigiana (chicken perfectly fried and the pasta was perfectly cooked), lobster ravioli (good portion and the sauce was garlicky and delicious), chicken vodka and chicken risotto. I didn't try the last 2, but the people who ate it really liked it. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back since there are so many Italian restaurants to try out in the north end, but still worth trying for their freshly made pasta.

Yelp
Had such a nice meal here, as they were unexpectedly able to see our party of two since we came in later in the night. We were sat in the cutest little two top at the restaurant in the nook of the window directly facing the street, giving us a bird eye view to people watch and protecting us from the chilly air and giving a sense of privacy from the rest of the noise. The place was decorated so nicely and only had about 10 tables, keeping the vibe intimate. Juan, our server, was super friendly and helpful, giving his honest opinion and recommendations on each of the dishes we inquired about. He brought out bread with olive oil and Parmesan cheese to start us off, so fresh and delicious. We almost got the burrata appetizer but went with the chicken Parm spring rolls at his recommendation, since they were relatively new to the menu and so unique, something we couldn't get anywhere else. They were pretty yummy, I'm not the biggest fan of fried egg roll style dishes, but the flavor was there and the marinara sauce for dipping was seasoned so perfectly. I didn't have any drinks, but my friend had the lemon drop martini and was raving about it. For dinner, we decided to share the pesto gnocchi and the lobster ravioli. Juan warned us that the pesto gnocchi was not as flavorful as some gnocchi in other restaurants due to them being a nut free restaurant, but said they add a creamy component to the texture that gives it a special flare. He was not wrong. Although it wasn't the best tasting pesto, I've had, the texture was delicious - I could have even used a pinch more creaminess! We added some shrimp on top, these were cooked perfectly, but overall we added a little salt and pepper to the dish to enhance the flavor once at our table. The lobster ravioli was absolutely perfect. I had a similar dish the night before at another restaurant in the north end during my trip and this one completely took the cake. The sauce was 10 times better and the flavors were so potent and aromatic. We shared the tiramisu after, which wasn't made the traditional Ladyfinger way that I'm used to, but was still yummy and light, the cake had a mousse-like texture that made it not too heavy after such a filling meal. All in all, I would definitely come back

Yelp
We went to Casarecce on a friend's recommendation, who cited it as their favorite restaurant. I am really wondering after eating there, "Did they mean to send us somewhere else?" Like other North End restaurants, the restaurant is super tiny. We were fortunate that the restaurant was only half-full at 6:30 on a Wednesday (maybe this should have been a clue because everywhere else looked packed?), since table are only about 6" apart. Service was friendly and efficient, so this seemed like a good start. Food, however, was so-so to terrible! We ordered the meatball appetizer, carbonara, and chicken vodka. The meatball (portion of 3) and sauce were essentially room temperature and completely under-seasoned. It was accompanied by a very garlicky toast, which I liked. A small basket of bread also came to the table. This was the hardest, saddest bread that they should have truly been embarrassed to serve. The pasta portions were huge - I imagine perhaps a draw for families with little kids - and very rich. The carbonara was nicely peppery. The chicken vodka was awful with way too much sauce and containing pees that had the dull color and off-putting taste of canned peas. Overall, a huge "NEVER AGAIN" for me.

Yelp
We went to Casarecce while walking around the North End. The prices seemed fair compared to some of the other restaurants and the menu items sounded tasty. The food itself was really good. We ordered the vodka casarecce with chicken and the shrimp scampi on spaghetti. The casarecce for the vodka sauce was delicious and was noticeably made in house. The chicken was very tender, although the sauce itself I think could've had a little more salt. The shrimp scampi was delicious. The sauce was nice and light and the peppers in it really tied it together. The servers were super attentive and kind. I felt like we had enough help but weren't being bombarded. The restaurant itself is pretty small but it's decorated cute and had plenty of space for being comfortable.

Yelp
HIGHLY recommend the Chicken risotto. I would come back again. Make a reservation ahead of time, as this restaurant will get very busy. It is not a big restaurant.

Tori T.

Yelp
Went in on a rainy day and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The food was pasta was delicious.

Yelp
We were looking for an Italian place on a Saturday night and couldn't find a single place with reservations. We walked around North End and searched our phones for a place that had reservations and we stumbled upon Casarecce. We got reservations for a dinner 30 minutes later. There was a wait outside the restaurant so definitely make a reservation! Onto the food! The calamari was the perfect crisp and paired well with the sauce. The burrata was SO GOOD! I would highly recommend it. The gnocchi was soft as pillows and the filling in the ravioli was heavenly. I liked the white sauce with the ravioli. Service was super fast. The restaurant is small like others in the North End, so definitely loud. Not so great for groups bigger than 6

Yelp
For our last night in Boston, we headed to Little Italy. Casarecce was our choice. On Saturday night, the area was busy so I'm glad we made a reservation beforehand. Casarecce is a cozy place with lots of tables in one room. Staff worked together well to bus tables quickly and get their guests seated as quickly as possible. Despite the bustle of the place, once you have your table, sit back and enjoy and no one rushes you. I chose the Casarecce chicken vodka entree. It was delicious. I loved the noodles and lightness of the sauce. It came with a ton of chicken. Portions are large and sharable if you want a smaller portion. The menu has so many good options to choose from and all pasta is homemade. We shared a Caprese salad to start which had nice fresh cheese and tomatoes. Great dinner.

Yelp
We stopped and were lucky to find a table Right at the window - so a little less tight to neighbor guests and not quite a hectic We enjoyed the food a lot - unfortunately the server missed to get us bread and olive oil but he was just so busy. Both food was very good !! Their wine prices are hefty ($49 a bottle) but that's probably the location you pay for. Not sure though why the affogato is $9 more than the espresso. Must be a pricy ice cream

L C.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and the ambiance was cozy. It was quite an experience given it was our visit to Boston, Little Italy is probably the best little town from all other little Italy in other parts of the country.

Yelp
Decided to give Casarecce another try since we enjoyed the food so much previously, and I am SO glad we came again. We made reservations online and were promptly seated upon arrival, even though all of North End was quite busy due to the ongoing Saint Anthony's Feast. Unlike last time, our server this day was incredibly attentive, professional, and helpful. He took our order in a timely manner and checked in on us throughout the evening. The food is the best part of this restaurant. We ordered the Lamb Ragu and Pappardelle Alfredo, and they were just as amazing as the other dishes we had tried previously. Pasta was perfectly chewy and al dente. We especially loved the Pappardelle Alfredo, which was savory and rich without feeling heavy. Perhaps the server from our first visit was still in training, because everything about the service, ambiance, and food this second time around was on point. We'll definitely be dining here again!

Yelp
Fine, but not impressed Made a reservation here the other night and still had to wait 15-20 min for a table. Inside was intimate and decorated cutely, but VERY loud! The bread they served after I sat down was lackluster and served with olive oil and grated Parmesan. For an appetizer, I ordered the fried calamari which was nice and crispy but the red sauce it came with was lackluster. I got pesto gnocchi for dinner and overall it was good, but not great. The gnocchi, which is made in house, was a bit tough and the pesto sauce was made with cream and a little too heavy for my liking. At least the prices weren't outrageous and the service was friendly! I probably wouldn't come back, and would mark this place as a bit too "touristy". Ambience: 4/5 Noise: 1/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 3/5
google avatar

Sumedha M.

Yelp
I liked this place! Overall I had a good experience. I loved that they had Parmesan with the bread and oil -- it gave it an elevated feel. I liked the Bruschetta and the Mushroom Ravioli. The Mushroom Ravioli was really unique and they managed to pull it off well. I would definitely come back here again.

Jared B.

Yelp
Unbelievably good. The pasta is so light and fresh! Atmosphere is nice as well. I'm now just typing because the app requires 85 characters.... Highly recommend though.

Chelsea P.

Yelp
Service was not what we expected. We arrived at 6:10 for a 6:30 reservation and they hesitantly sat us because we were early. The restaurant only had 2 other tables at the time. As we waited to get service, 2 other groups came jn and asked if they could be seated and they did not have reservations. The 2 other tables were served drinks and appetizers before we were even able to place our order. My husband and I were shocked. Once we ordered and food arrived, it was good. Not the knock your socks off good we expected though. We were in town visiting and If we come back to Boston, we will try another Italian restaurant on the block.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
We are here for lunch today and loved it! Luis was our waiter and took great care of us. We also were able to get a table without a reservation too, which was sweet. As for the food, the chicken vodka pasta my fiancé got was absolutely delicious. Five stars for sure!! The chicken parm I got was also very good. The service was very good as well. Last, prices were very reasonable with large portion sizes. It was a good lunch!

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Sunday night, and it was easy to make a reservation the same day, but we still had to wait a bit in line to be seated. It's a very small place, so I would not recommend walking in as they did turn away a few parties since they couldn't accommodate walk ins at peak dinner time (around 7pm). The food here was amazing! We ordered the broccoli rabe as a starter, and I ordered the eggplant parm while my friend ordered the pesto gnocchi. The eggplant parm and Casarecce (a homemade spiral pasta) was amazing! The eggplant parm was sliced very thin and layered, and the casarecce was deliciously soft and the red sauce accompanying it was perfect. My friend's gnocchi was also very light and pillowy, but a bit heavier than my meal. I loved it! I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Love this cozy restaurant on Hanover Street. Great food, wonderful wine list, perfect location.

Dave J.

Yelp
The food was so good that we had to come back a second time. You should try the Diablo shrimp. The taste was on point and the service was phenomenal. It's a small place and people are waiting outside to be seated, but it is worth the wait. They have two locations
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
The best lobster ravioli I've ever had. That's all. The pasta was homemade and you could tell with every bite. Service was a little weird. We had a reservation but ended up waiting an additional 20-30 mins because our table wasn't ready. The food was worth the wait but it just felt unusual that we had to wait so long after having a reservation. Once we were sat, the service improved considerably. The ambience gave a cozy intimate atmosphere that took me back to my days in Italy. A must do if you're in Boston and the street has a lot to explore if you need to wait like we did, reservation or not.

Yelp
Had lunch at Casarecce. The service was impeccable. The sever was very friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu. I had the Cesar salad to start and the porcini mushroom ravioli for my entree. The sauce on the ravioli was incredible. Everything is made in house including all the pasta. I would give 10 stars if that was an option. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back next time I'm in Boston. If going for dinner make a reservation. The restaurant is cute and inviting but only has a few tables. Great find!

Paula L.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a party of four. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Some of the food (meat balls and roasted potatoes) were not served hot (barely warm). My beet arugula salad was delicious. Our table enjoyed the chicken parm spring rolls as an appetizer and the mussels were delicious. My son's veal dish had cold potatoes and a the portion on the veal was underwhelming. Overall the four of us would rate our experience as average. Expensive entrees from 36-39 dollars. We will try another place the next time we are in the North End.

Melissa V.

Yelp
Small and quaint. Fresh bread served with oil and parm cheese We had eggplant spring rolls, chicken parm, pesto gnocchi and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. It was end of night, so server was busy doing other things, but didn't leave us hanging. He was good. I'd go back!
google avatar

Margaret P.

Yelp
Pros: The food was delicious. You could tell it was all homemade. When it came out, it was steaming hot. Also, the portion size for the price was generous. We got seated pretty quickly, our food came out sooner than expected (good thing), and the staff was so kind. It was my birthday and they brought out a free tiramisu cake for me with a candle, and I was able to blow it out. To note: The atmosphere is fairly loud, so you will need to speak up a little bit. There's only one restroom. Overall score: A+
google avatar

Lucille H.

Yelp
I wouldn't say everything is 5 stars, but certain items are so so so good: - The bread. Omg. I can have baskets of those. - Italian Wine. - Pesto gnocchi. The texture is amazing Food tastes very homemade. Healthy. Not overly creamy or salty. Can be a little bland if you are into heavy stuff.
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
Went here for a date night, and it was amazing. I ordered the lasagna and my boyfriend got the pesto gnocchi but we both loved the others so much and ended up trading! Best pesto gnocchi I have ever had. Genuine, kind and helpful servers! It had such a nice ambiance! We've been to a couple places in north end where it gets so loud you can't even talk but Casarecce was so cozy, we talked and laughed and devoured our pastas. Definitely, definitely recommend!! It was delicious!
google avatar

Srinithi R.

Yelp
Came here during peak hours but was able to find a table for a walk in. I tried the appetizers and really enjoyed the eggplant parm and bruschetta. The dining area was cozy and a little noisy but that is expected. The place seats mostly groups of two and smaller groups. I would come back again to try the pasta dishes.
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Casarecce was an impromptu choice for us during our Little Italy tour in Boston. It's a small little restaurant that's been around since 2019. They claim their pasts is the best in town and I believe them. The pasta is handmade daily. It certainly tastes as good as they claim. The service was great and the server recommended the Veal Amalfi since I am a veal fan. It was fabulous and I'm glad I ordered it.
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Homemade pasta options, friendly fast service. Carbonara was delicious! Groups larger than 6 would be challenging as the size is on the smaller side.
google avatar

Ward M.

Yelp
During an impromptu afternoon in Boston it was suggested to me to try any restaurant or cafe advertising it makes something in-house. I was dining alone, and I wanted pasta. The first person who greeted and seated me was a busser, who invited me to sit in the little window alcove and cleared the other two place settings as I was seated. The busser turned me over to a server who took me through the menu. Spaghetti and meatballs never tasted so good! The pasta texture was thicker and perfectly al dente. In the end it was that whole entree, bread, glass of wine, and cappuccino for sixty dollars. Thank you for the meal Casarecce!
google avatar

Katherine R.

Yelp
A cozy north end Italian restaurant! It's hard to go wrong in the north end. Most places have great good and service and Casarecce is no exception. The calamari was delicious and the chicken in the chicken parm was TO DIE for. The best in the north end. I'll admit that the pasta that came with it was mid, but that chicken.. I would go back just for that! The service was great too. Our waiter was so nice and attentive! My only complaints (small) would just be that there was no olive oil on the table for the bread (it came with an eggplant spread that I didn't care for), and the restaurant is a bit small so you might be in close contact with yours neighbors. They were pretty good with spreading people out but max capacity would be tight!
google avatar

Preston O.

Yelp
We were looking for a great fancy dinner for everyone while in town and this place did not disappoint. GET THE LAVA CAKE PLEASE - the table also got tiramisu which though delicious was over shadowed by the classic upscale Chilis app. It was super busy so service was a little light but they were full of knowledge and again the food was 5/5 Not too loud and great for meals for adult families

Ekaterina S.

Yelp
Went there with my boyfriend, we just wanted to have an appetizer and some drinks. After our drinks were brought out, my boyfriend tried to order an appetizer, but the staff told us we had to order entrées or leave. No one mentioned this rule when we walked in, and it wasn't written anywhere on the menu. We asked if we could at least finish our drinks before leaving. The waiter said that was fine and told us the table would be available for another 30 minutes. But about 15 minutes later, he came back and said, "We need the table right now." I said no problem and asked if there was somewhere else I could go to finish my drink. He replied, "Yes, in the back." I assumed he meant there was another seating area, but, to my surprise, there was nothing back there. Apparently, he expected me to stand and finish my drink, which is absurd for a restaurant Thus, only 1 star for the customer service
google avatar

Yelp
Super hole in the wall spot on Hanover. The food-some of the best pasta Ive had in the North End. Service was great. Make a reservation. Place is small and fills up fast. Cant believe this was my first time-wont be my last!

Yelp
Decided to try this restaurant after reviewing some of the other popular spots in the North End....started off with a bottle of sparkling water and my girlfriend had a glass of moscato, for an appetizer we decided to try the Eggplant Modugnese, which wasn't a great start to the experience, eggplant left something to be desired, and I can't say the red sauce was the best I've ever tasted either.....we got a little nervous at that, but the dinner got better with the entree's which were both very good and full of flavor. My girlfriend had Porcini Mushroom Ravioli which she loved and I decided on the Veal Portofino which was was large medallions of veal, stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella and spinach in a sage port wine demi glaze cream sauce....normally im not a big sage fan, but luckily it wasn't over powering.....I would definitely get it again. All in all it was a good experience, service was good, nice atmosphere...couldn't give them 5 stars cause of that appetizer, but I would definitely revisit this restaurant to try some of they're other dishes

Yelp
I visited this location for a business lunch with customers. First thought is this place is extremely cozy. Next thought was that this establishment looks to fit the part, totally Italian. I've been to Italy several times and this place took me back. The service was similar to the service in Italy. Straightforward and to the point...very direct and upfront. If you're looking for a humorous and entertaining wait staff, this isn't that type of place. They'll give you their opinions in dishes if asked but are pretty much a point of sale order intake. They were pretty prompt and checked in occasionally. On to the food...yum! For apps, we ordered fried calamari, eggplant frites and one of my first times trying, chicken parmigiana spring rolls. Omg, the spring rolls...so delicious! It's a must try and definitely not something to skip. It is like a mash up of chicken parmigiana and an egg roll all into a cigarette sized snack. The fried calamari was okay.. not the best nor the worst. On to the entree...I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It was definitely up there with one of the best I've had. I'm a fiend of eggplant parmigiana and this one didn't disappoint.

Yelp
As locals will say, you can stop by any restaurant on the North End and find great Italian food. I've found this to be true over the years and Yelpers highly recommend this venue. We visited on a weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary and found our bellies happy and full. This is a great LOCATION on one of the most heavily traveled streets in the North End. SPACE--with most venues on the east coast--is a commodity in this venue; be prepared to sit next to another diner or couple. The FOOD was great! We started with a bottle of wine, caprese appetizer, lamb ragu and squash ravioli. I agree with Yelper Bea T. who suggested the bread was "commercially plain"; reminded us of Turano bread. And while the signs say homemade pasta, I do not expect that the pasta is made in the tiny kitchen. I make homemade pasta all the time, and this felt like it was dried pasta (possibly procured from a local establishment and cooked on-site?). NOTE: Having visited the area several times, I always recommend A) getting a reservation or B) showing up right before dinner rush (we arrived at 4:15 and were seated right away). Also--while Casarecce will take credit, if you're looking for dessert afterwards, many of the pastry shops around the area only accept cash. Doesn't hurt to be prepared!

Yelp
We sat to eat at 3:00pm for a late lunch. We sat at the open windows on a beautiful sunny day. Perfect. Fried calamari was cooked well, not chewy, would have liked the lemon to be fresh and not fried. The pasta was al dente and fresh. The sauce was great for a hot day, light and flavorful. Portions were the right size. They served their own fresh bread which was a bit salty but we didn't mind. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Meh! I really wish more than 3 stars but I can't. The welcome bread was commercially plain which is a precursor to "did we make a mistake?" We ordered the meatballs and buratta to start. The buratta was very good, the meatballs itself were good but the sauce seemed very generic. My mushroom truffle ravioli was okay. It was a little bit too al dente for me and I didn't taste enough truffle in it but the sauce also was on the saltier side which mask the flavor of the mushrooms. The parpedelle Bolognese was decent. I can't say I was wowed at the food but the place was full. The tables were in close quarters due to the small space. The service was ok.

Yelp
Incredibly average food. We got the lasagna and the chicken vodka pasta. Both dishes were very bland. I will say they were improved with lots of Parmesan cheese, emphasis on a lot. The staff were kind and the view from the window table is nice, but wouldn't recommend if you want good food.

Yelp
We had the spaghetti meatballs and spaghetti frutti di mare. The pasta was made in house and very good. The meatballs were bland. The sauces were mild in flavor. Atmosphere was comfortable for a small space. Service was quite good.

Yelp
Four of us had an outstanding Saturday lunch over Labor Day weekend at this North End restaurant. Honestly we were aimed for one that was two doors down and crowded, but this place had a sign out front that pastas were hand made and it had good reviews, so in we went. It's very small inside, but we settled in to wonderful service. Note: they do not have a full liquor license, so you can order some things but not others. We didn't get it either, but no problem as my lemon vodka martini was delightful. Others were happy with wine. Food: after you order they bring bread with oil and cheese. Honestly not my fave bread ever, but the entrees were outstanding. The Chicken Vodka had to be my fave. I shared that with the Spaghetti Vongole (clams), and that was terrific also, but darn that chicken vodka was special. Husband loved his lasagna, while DIL raved over her mushroom ravioli. Not an inexpensive lunch, but we couldn't have been happier with our experience here. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Decided to try this restaurant on Hanover street that has tons of great options. Tight dining spot but excellent service non stop attention to all the tables. We had the Cesar salad to start off with- very crisp and delicious Main entrees: chicken parm, chicken Al la vodka with homemade pasta was a great choice. Looking forward to visiting again when in Boston.

Yelp
A new favorite in the North End. My mother lives in the North End, so we've tried our fair share of local establishments. We really enjoyed Casarecce. The service is very friendly and the food is top notch, particularly the homemade pasta. We have returned several times and everything we've ordered has been very high quality.

Yelp
This restaurant had a decent rating on Yelp however we were a little disappointed it wasn't the north end experience we were hoping for - the atmosphere felt more like a nightclub than a dining experience. The food was fine, the calamari was a little tough but my cod was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The service was good and we had a good diner overall.

Yelp
This has to be one of the best restaurants in the North End. We actually had a Rez at another location, but it turns out they didn't/couldn't honor it. We passed by Casarecce and the sign out front said "fresh pasta daily". We inquired, they said Sí, so we three sat. One special, two pastas, two apps, and a bottle of wine later, and I came to the conclusion there may or may not be something better than Casarecce, but I do know there are most likely plenty that don't compare. It is air conditioned a nice plus on a hot summer night. Perfect service in a small environment. Man, am I a fan.

Yelp
Mangia! Mangia! Mangia! Excellent service here. We loved our server and he was very fast and personable. He liked to talk the talk with us while also sharing the popular menu items to choose from. I was with several family members and we all LOVED our meals. I got the spaghetti and meatballs. Chef's kiss. Literally 0 complaints. Perfect proportion of sauce to pasta. I'm getting lost in the sauce thinking about it. We sat outside on a gorgeous day in Boston, eating delicious and authentic Italian food. But wait! There's more! Our server suggested this "taburno" white wine to our table and it was a HUGE hit. I honestly took this picture of the bottle so I could remember to buy it to have at home. Would def call Casarecce "my go-to Italian restaurant in the North End" to anyone asking for suggestions!
