Get to Know Boston’s 2019 Restaurant Openings, One Neighborhood at a Time | Eater Boston

"The North End probably needed another Italian restaurant like it needed another pothole on its streets. Casarecce is good, though, so it doesn’t matter that it’s joining a saturated market. The restaurant’s name originates from a short, twisty pasta shape typical in Sicily. Casarecce’s pasta is all made in-house, and it’s reasonably priced. It’s a good addition to a neighborhood that didn’t need it but is better for having it." - Terrence Doyle

Casarecce - Review - North End - Boston - The Infatuation

"Casarecce is a tiny, perfectly OK Italian spot on Hanover Street. It’s weirdly brightly lit like an art gallery, so make sure you look good if you’re coming here with a date. We recommend the namesake casarecce with slow-roasted lamb ragu. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Dan Secatore

Casarecce Ristorante Opens in Boston’s North End | Eater Boston

"Opened last week at 285 Hanover St., I report that Casarecce Ristorante is serving plates of house-made pasta with an emphasis on lesser-known shapes like the titular casarecce. The menu features dishes such as pappardelle bolognese, bucatini vongole, and casarecce with lamb ragu, and diners can also snack on calamari, meatballs, and bruschetta. The restaurant holds a beer, wine, and cordials license, occupies the space formerly home to a Pinkberry franchise, and is a sibling to Pellino's Ristorante as the Pellinos' second North End venture. Casarecce is open 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m.–midnight Friday through Sunday." - Terrence Doyle

Google
The service here was so great that I wish I could’ve loved this place. We ordered the Caesar, frutti di mare, and lasagna. The Caesar is very well dressed, so if you’re not into that, definitely ask them to go light. Both pasta dishes left a lot to be desired; they were dry and bland. That said, the servers were gracious when we told them our concerns and even gave us a sample of their bolognese before we ordered replacement dishes. This helped because we ultimately decided the flavors of the restaurant were not what we were looking for.

Google
I came here for lunch after an event in Faneuil hall, it was the first place we walked by that was open during lunch time. Upon entering we received a very warm welcome. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! The bolognese was so good, pasta was so fresh! I also recommend the chicken parm spring rolls and my mom loved the butternut squash ravioli special. It’s very small inside so if they take reservations it’s probably best to make one. Definitely check it out!

Google
Calamari was the best I've ever had! Clearly fresh and not frozen. The clams were great. The chicken in the alla vodka was so soft and tender. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The veal was tender. The tiramisu was delicious, but pricey. And the Chocolate lava cake didn't have any lava -- yet delicious, but maybe not worth the price.

Google
We had a pleasant experience here. Near closing time, the servers welcomed us inside and gave us a table right by the window, which was open to the street. We received great service throughout the whole meal, and we were not pressured to leave even though the restaurant was about to close. And most importantly, the food was wonderful. My chicken Parmesan was warm and hearty, with tasty chicken topped with a blanket of melted cheese and served with Casarecce pasta. My father enjoyed his lasagna, which was the perfect portion: not too large, but filling and of good quality. My mother ordered a dish that consisted of spaghetti with clams and white wine sauce, which she described as fantastic. Overall, this was a good experience at a small but hospitable Italian restaurant.

Google
Food was great, however it was very small and cramped. But honestly it adds to the charm of the place. Very Boston Italian. We didn’t have reservations but they were able to get us in. The food came out super quickly. We got the calamari it was so good. Not chewy and perfectly crisp. The lobster ravioli was our favorite. We also got the vodka chicken and it was really good too but not as good as lobster ravioli. The espresso martini was probably one of the best I’ve ever had

Salima N.

Google
Outstanding food. The pasta portions are very generous, they're handmade pasta and my spaghetti was cooked al dente. We had the eggplant rolls with ricotta filling, shrimp diavolo spaghetti, lamb ragu casarecce, and tiramisu. Wines were also excellent.

Google
Clams in white sauce. Peroni beer and chianti wine. Fabulous freshly baked bread with o.o. and cheese. Lobster ravioli and Alfredo noodles. Tiramisu and Lava cake. Everything was outstanding!

Kassidy S.

Google
Homemade bread and pasta was excellent. We had a larger party and sampled each others dishes and all were delicious. The service was great and fast. Highly recommend.

Yelp
On our North End quest, this was stop #4 but moved to #1 on our rankings. Very tiny place with squished seating but we didn't mind our two person table at the wall. Our server was quick and very sweet. We ordered eggplant modugnese and burrata for apps, lobster ravioli and lamb ragu for dinner, all 10/10. Appetizers were great portions but still very light. Lamb ragu had their name brand pasta shape and a generous portion of meat. I am a lobster ravioli connoisseur and I absolutely loved this. It might even be a little higher than the place I love back home. Their sauce was incredible. I wish it had a bigger portion I wanted more when I was done. I would definitely recommend this place! We will be back for more lobster ravioli.

Yelp
Casarecce delivers a rustic Italian experience that flirts with romantic ambiance--though the packed dining room on the night of Saint Anthony's Festival made it more lively than intimate. That said, with a group of four adults and three kids, we weren't there for candlelight, and we were pleasantly surprised to be seated early despite the busy night in the North End. Service was excellent from the start--prompt, friendly, and attentive. Bread with olive oil arrived shortly after we sat down, setting a great tone for the meal. A recommended glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo paired beautifully with our dishes. The Eggplant Parmigiana stood out for its super-thin cut and light breading--a refreshing change. The house-made casarecce pasta was a bit thick but still hearty and flavorful. Chicken Parmigiana was a table favorite, as were the spaghetti and meatballs, both well-executed classics. The Lasagna Bolognese, generously layered with meaty sauce, was another hit. Portions were satisfying without being excessive--enough to leave us full, but not enough to save room for dessert. All in all, a solid dinner spot in the North End, especially if you're craving traditional Italian with a modern touch.

Yelp
Do not try to do a walk on a weekend, we had a reservation and we still had to wait (it has very limited seating so it makes sense that you'd have a to wait a little bit). They brought you bread with Parmesan and EVOO, nothing special and the bread for the bruschetta was very thick and not as toasted as we would have liked. Now onto the entrees, we got Chicken Parmigiana (chicken perfectly fried and the pasta was perfectly cooked), lobster ravioli (good portion and the sauce was garlicky and delicious), chicken vodka and chicken risotto. I didn't try the last 2, but the people who ate it really liked it. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back since there are so many Italian restaurants to try out in the north end, but still worth trying for their freshly made pasta.

Yelp
Great little restaurant with beautiful open window seats. Food was fantastic. Gluten free options. The gluten free pasta tasted so good we had to question the waiter to make sure ! Mushroom raviolis were so good I could have licked the plate !
google avatar

Yelp
This cozy spot in North End has a family friendly establishment. We went for lunch on a Saturday of a holiday weekend and were able to walk in with no reservations. The food is a bit pricey. The lamb ragu's meat was delicious and one of the kids in our party loved the spaghetti and meatballs.
google avatar

Shannon-Cody M.

Yelp
They were able to seat us quickly without a reservation, and the food was wonderful. The mussels were perfectly cooked, in a light tomato sauce, and the eggplant appetizer was amazing! The parmesan cheese and olive oil served with the fresh bread was a thoughtful touch. Perfect date night
google avatar

Yelp
Come here, really, it's amazing! We were the only ones having lunch here today (it's 3:30, weird time). But, don't let it deter you if it's empty. The food is fantastic! Fresh pasta made specially for my husband who has allergies, he said it's the BEST pasta he's had in a very long time. I asked them to make me a funghi risotto (which was not on the menu), it was so light and fluffy, better than any I've had in a long time as well. Also, try the tiramisu it's also so wonderful, affogato is a must order! Sorry...I forgot to take pictures!

Yelp
We went to Casarecce while walking around the North End. The prices seemed fair compared to some of the other restaurants and the menu items sounded tasty. The food itself was really good. We ordered the vodka casarecce with chicken and the shrimp scampi on spaghetti. The casarecce for the vodka sauce was delicious and was noticeably made in house. The chicken was very tender, although the sauce itself I think could've had a little more salt. The shrimp scampi was delicious. The sauce was nice and light and the peppers in it really tied it together. The servers were super attentive and kind. I felt like we had enough help but weren't being bombarded. The restaurant itself is pretty small but it's decorated cute and had plenty of space for being comfortable.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch. I had lasagna while my partner had frutti di mare pasta, with a bruschetta appetizer. For lunch, this place is a bit too expensive as there is no real lunch menu. The bread they serve is plenty, so the bruschetta was too much. The food was good! The wine was over priced at $13 for a glass. I would recommend for dinner, not lunch.

Yelp
We went to Casarecce on a friend's recommendation, who cited it as their favorite restaurant. I am really wondering after eating there, "Did they mean to send us somewhere else?" Like other North End restaurants, the restaurant is super tiny. We were fortunate that the restaurant was only half-full at 6:30 on a Wednesday (maybe this should have been a clue because everywhere else looked packed?), since table are only about 6" apart. Service was friendly and efficient, so this seemed like a good start. Food, however, was so-so to terrible! We ordered the meatball appetizer, carbonara, and chicken vodka. The meatball (portion of 3) and sauce were essentially room temperature and completely under-seasoned. It was accompanied by a very garlicky toast, which I liked. A small basket of bread also came to the table. This was the hardest, saddest bread that they should have truly been embarrassed to serve. The pasta portions were huge - I imagine perhaps a draw for families with little kids - and very rich. The carbonara was nicely peppery. The chicken vodka was awful with way too much sauce and containing pees that had the dull color and off-putting taste of canned peas. Overall, a huge "NEVER AGAIN" for me.
google avatar

Courtney W.

Yelp
I had the Shrip risotto and it was very good! A little bit too garlicy and it was surprising that they left the shirmp tails on. We only saw our server 3 times which was not great as it was not very busy, but we were able to get in right away which was a bonus. It was a bit loud between the dinner music and 2 other large paries their, but it was a nice experience overall
google avatar

Audrey S.

Yelp
HIGHLY recommend the Chicken risotto. I would come back again. Make a reservation ahead of time, as this restaurant will get very busy. It is not a big restaurant.

Yelp
Had such a nice meal here, as they were unexpectedly able to see our party of two since we came in later in the night. We were sat in the cutest little two top at the restaurant in the nook of the window directly facing the street, giving us a bird eye view to people watch and protecting us from the chilly air and giving a sense of privacy from the rest of the noise. The place was decorated so nicely and only had about 10 tables, keeping the vibe intimate. Juan, our server, was super friendly and helpful, giving his honest opinion and recommendations on each of the dishes we inquired about. He brought out bread with olive oil and Parmesan cheese to start us off, so fresh and delicious. We almost got the burrata appetizer but went with the chicken Parm spring rolls at his recommendation, since they were relatively new to the menu and so unique, something we couldn't get anywhere else. They were pretty yummy, I'm not the biggest fan of fried egg roll style dishes, but the flavor was there and the marinara sauce for dipping was seasoned so perfectly. I didn't have any drinks, but my friend had the lemon drop martini and was raving about it. For dinner, we decided to share the pesto gnocchi and the lobster ravioli. Juan warned us that the pesto gnocchi was not as flavorful as some gnocchi in other restaurants due to them being a nut free restaurant, but said they add a creamy component to the texture that gives it a special flare. He was not wrong. Although it wasn't the best tasting pesto, I've had, the texture was delicious - I could have even used a pinch more creaminess! We added some shrimp on top, these were cooked perfectly, but overall we added a little salt and pepper to the dish to enhance the flavor once at our table. The lobster ravioli was absolutely perfect. I had a similar dish the night before at another restaurant in the north end during my trip and this one completely took the cake. The sauce was 10 times better and the flavors were so potent and aromatic. We shared the tiramisu after, which wasn't made the traditional Ladyfinger way that I'm used to, but was still yummy and light, the cake had a mousse-like texture that made it not too heavy after such a filling meal. All in all, I would definitely come back

Yelp
We were looking for an Italian place on a Saturday night and couldn't find a single place with reservations. We walked around North End and searched our phones for a place that had reservations and we stumbled upon Casarecce. We got reservations for a dinner 30 minutes later. There was a wait outside the restaurant so definitely make a reservation! Onto the food! The calamari was the perfect crisp and paired well with the sauce. The burrata was SO GOOD! I would highly recommend it. The gnocchi was soft as pillows and the filling in the ravioli was heavenly. I liked the white sauce with the ravioli. Service was super fast. The restaurant is small like others in the North End, so definitely loud. Not so great for groups bigger than 6
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
For our last night in Boston, we headed to Little Italy. Casarecce was our choice. On Saturday night, the area was busy so I'm glad we made a reservation beforehand. Casarecce is a cozy place with lots of tables in one room. Staff worked together well to bus tables quickly and get their guests seated as quickly as possible. Despite the bustle of the place, once you have your table, sit back and enjoy and no one rushes you. I chose the Casarecce chicken vodka entree. It was delicious. I loved the noodles and lightness of the sauce. It came with a ton of chicken. Portions are large and sharable if you want a smaller portion. The menu has so many good options to choose from and all pasta is homemade. We shared a Caprese salad to start which had nice fresh cheese and tomatoes. Great dinner.
google avatar

Joachim G.

Yelp
We stopped and were lucky to find a table Right at the window - so a little less tight to neighbor guests and not quite a hectic We enjoyed the food a lot - unfortunately the server missed to get us bread and olive oil but he was just so busy. Both food was very good !! Their wine prices are hefty ($49 a bottle) but that's probably the location you pay for. Not sure though why the affogato is $9 more than the espresso. Must be a pricy ice cream
google avatar

Melvin S.

Yelp
The handmade pasta is superb, perfectly cooked with the perfect texture. I came with a group of 6 and everyone raved about their pasta (everyone had a different dish).
google avatar

Kasey H.

Yelp
Decided to give Casarecce another try since we enjoyed the food so much previously, and I am SO glad we came again. We made reservations online and were promptly seated upon arrival, even though all of North End was quite busy due to the ongoing Saint Anthony's Feast. Unlike last time, our server this day was incredibly attentive, professional, and helpful. He took our order in a timely manner and checked in on us throughout the evening. The food is the best part of this restaurant. We ordered the Lamb Ragu and Pappardelle Alfredo, and they were just as amazing as the other dishes we had tried previously. Pasta was perfectly chewy and al dente. We especially loved the Pappardelle Alfredo, which was savory and rich without feeling heavy. Perhaps the server from our first visit was still in training, because everything about the service, ambiance, and food this second time around was on point. We'll definitely be dining here again!

Jesse G.

Yelp
What a nice little quaint place. Just randomly pick this place and would definitely go back again. The staff is friendly the food is amazing.

Marqui W.

Yelp
The shrimp scampi and spaghetti is one of the best meals I have had this summer. I cleaned the plate and wanted even more, although the portion was generous. And the arugula salad with honey balsamic vinaigrette is one of the very best salads I have had all year! One of My favorite restaurants in Boston.
google avatar

Harry H.

Yelp
Ate here on a Monday night in winter - definitely the time to go...only a few other tables filled. We split the chicken cacciatore and mushroom ravioli, both were very good. The chicken was prepared closer to marsala than the tomato-based cacciatore I'm used to, but still good. My only suggestion - for an Italian restaurant, the wine-by-the-glass list is quite small and average. The chianti offered is not even chianti classico. Better offerings would be appreciated.
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
We had a great dinner before a show with the garden on Sunday night. We had bruschetta and meatballs for our appetizers. They were very good. For dinner, my husband and I had the veal Parmesan with homemade pasta. My brother-in-law had the cod risotto and my sister had pasta with scallops. We wete all very pleased with our meal. The restaurant is very small and quaint, and the service was very good.
google avatar

Jerrick C.

Yelp
Fine, but not impressed Made a reservation here the other night and still had to wait 15-20 min for a table. Inside was intimate and decorated cutely, but VERY loud! The bread they served after I sat down was lackluster and served with olive oil and grated Parmesan. For an appetizer, I ordered the fried calamari which was nice and crispy but the red sauce it came with was lackluster. I got pesto gnocchi for dinner and overall it was good, but not great. The gnocchi, which is made in house, was a bit tough and the pesto sauce was made with cream and a little too heavy for my liking. At least the prices weren't outrageous and the service was friendly! I probably wouldn't come back, and would mark this place as a bit too "touristy". Ambience: 4/5 Noise: 1/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 3/5
google avatar

Sumedha M.

Yelp
I liked this place! Overall I had a good experience. I loved that they had Parmesan with the bread and oil -- it gave it an elevated feel. I liked the Bruschetta and the Mushroom Ravioli. The Mushroom Ravioli was really unique and they managed to pull it off well. I would definitely come back here again.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
We are here for lunch today and loved it! Luis was our waiter and took great care of us. We also were able to get a table without a reservation too, which was sweet. As for the food, the chicken vodka pasta my fiancé got was absolutely delicious. Five stars for sure!! The chicken parm I got was also very good. The service was very good as well. Last, prices were very reasonable with large portion sizes. It was a good lunch!
google avatar

Heley O.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Sunday night, and it was easy to make a reservation the same day, but we still had to wait a bit in line to be seated. It's a very small place, so I would not recommend walking in as they did turn away a few parties since they couldn't accommodate walk ins at peak dinner time (around 7pm). The food here was amazing! We ordered the broccoli rabe as a starter, and I ordered the eggplant parm while my friend ordered the pesto gnocchi. The eggplant parm and Casarecce (a homemade spiral pasta) was amazing! The eggplant parm was sliced very thin and layered, and the casarecce was deliciously soft and the red sauce accompanying it was perfect. My friend's gnocchi was also very light and pillowy, but a bit heavier than my meal. I loved it! I would definitely come back here.
google avatar

Kathy K.

Yelp
Had lunch at Casarecce. The service was impeccable. The sever was very friendly, attentive and helpful with the menu. I had the Cesar salad to start and the porcini mushroom ravioli for my entree. The sauce on the ravioli was incredible. Everything is made in house including all the pasta. I would give 10 stars if that was an option. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back next time I'm in Boston. If going for dinner make a reservation. The restaurant is cute and inviting but only has a few tables. Great find!
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
The best lobster ravioli I've ever had. That's all. The pasta was homemade and you could tell with every bite. Service was a little weird. We had a reservation but ended up waiting an additional 20-30 mins because our table wasn't ready. The food was worth the wait but it just felt unusual that we had to wait so long after having a reservation. Once we were sat, the service improved considerably. The ambience gave a cozy intimate atmosphere that took me back to my days in Italy. A must do if you're in Boston and the street has a lot to explore if you need to wait like we did, reservation or not.

Jared B.

Yelp
Unbelievably good. The pasta is so light and fresh! Atmosphere is nice as well. I'm now just typing because the app requires 85 characters.... Highly recommend though.
google avatar

Margaret P.

Yelp
Pros: The food was delicious. You could tell it was all homemade. When it came out, it was steaming hot. Also, the portion size for the price was generous. We got seated pretty quickly, our food came out sooner than expected (good thing), and the staff was so kind. It was my birthday and they brought out a free tiramisu cake for me with a candle, and I was able to blow it out. To note: The atmosphere is fairly loud, so you will need to speak up a little bit. There's only one restroom. Overall score: A+
google avatar

Lucille H.

Yelp
I wouldn't say everything is 5 stars, but certain items are so so so good: - The bread. Omg. I can have baskets of those. - Italian Wine. - Pesto gnocchi. The texture is amazing Food tastes very homemade. Healthy. Not overly creamy or salty. Can be a little bland if you are into heavy stuff.
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
Went here for a date night, and it was amazing. I ordered the lasagna and my boyfriend got the pesto gnocchi but we both loved the others so much and ended up trading! Best pesto gnocchi I have ever had. Genuine, kind and helpful servers! It had such a nice ambiance! We've been to a couple places in north end where it gets so loud you can't even talk but Casarecce was so cozy, we talked and laughed and devoured our pastas. Definitely, definitely recommend!! It was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this cozy restaurant on Hanover Street. Great food, wonderful wine list, perfect location.
google avatar

Srinithi R.

Yelp
Came here during peak hours but was able to find a table for a walk in. I tried the appetizers and really enjoyed the eggplant parm and bruschetta. The dining area was cozy and a little noisy but that is expected. The place seats mostly groups of two and smaller groups. I would come back again to try the pasta dishes.

Tori T.

Yelp
Went in on a rainy day and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The food was pasta was delicious.

L C.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and the ambiance was cozy. It was quite an experience given it was our visit to Boston, Little Italy is probably the best little town from all other little Italy in other parts of the country.
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Casarecce was an impromptu choice for us during our Little Italy tour in Boston. It's a small little restaurant that's been around since 2019. They claim their pasts is the best in town and I believe them. The pasta is handmade daily. It certainly tastes as good as they claim. The service was great and the server recommended the Veal Amalfi since I am a veal fan. It was fabulous and I'm glad I ordered it.

Dave J.

Yelp
The food was so good that we had to come back a second time. You should try the Diablo shrimp. The taste was on point and the service was phenomenal. It's a small place and people are waiting outside to be seated, but it is worth the wait. They have two locations
google avatar

Ward M.

Yelp
During an impromptu afternoon in Boston it was suggested to me to try any restaurant or cafe advertising it makes something in-house. I was dining alone, and I wanted pasta. The first person who greeted and seated me was a busser, who invited me to sit in the little window alcove and cleared the other two place settings as I was seated. The busser turned me over to a server who took me through the menu. Spaghetti and meatballs never tasted so good! The pasta texture was thicker and perfectly al dente. In the end it was that whole entree, bread, glass of wine, and cappuccino for sixty dollars. Thank you for the meal Casarecce!
google avatar

Katherine R.

Yelp
A cozy north end Italian restaurant! It's hard to go wrong in the north end. Most places have great good and service and Casarecce is no exception. The calamari was delicious and the chicken in the chicken parm was TO DIE for. The best in the north end. I'll admit that the pasta that came with it was mid, but that chicken.. I would go back just for that! The service was great too. Our waiter was so nice and attentive! My only complaints (small) would just be that there was no olive oil on the table for the bread (it came with an eggplant spread that I didn't care for), and the restaurant is a bit small so you might be in close contact with yours neighbors. They were pretty good with spreading people out but max capacity would be tight!

Chelsea P.

Yelp
Service was not what we expected. We arrived at 6:10 for a 6:30 reservation and they hesitantly sat us because we were early. The restaurant only had 2 other tables at the time. As we waited to get service, 2 other groups came jn and asked if they could be seated and they did not have reservations. The 2 other tables were served drinks and appetizers before we were even able to place our order. My husband and I were shocked. Once we ordered and food arrived, it was good. Not the knock your socks off good we expected though. We were in town visiting and If we come back to Boston, we will try another Italian restaurant on the block.
google avatar

Preston O.

Yelp
We were looking for a great fancy dinner for everyone while in town and this place did not disappoint. GET THE LAVA CAKE PLEASE - the table also got tiramisu which though delicious was over shadowed by the classic upscale Chilis app. It was super busy so service was a little light but they were full of knowledge and again the food was 5/5 Not too loud and great for meals for adult families
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
Super hole in the wall spot on Hanover. The food-some of the best pasta Ive had in the North End. Service was great. Make a reservation. Place is small and fills up fast. Cant believe this was my first time-wont be my last!

Yelp
Decided to try this restaurant after reviewing some of the other popular spots in the North End....started off with a bottle of sparkling water and my girlfriend had a glass of moscato, for an appetizer we decided to try the Eggplant Modugnese, which wasn't a great start to the experience, eggplant left something to be desired, and I can't say the red sauce was the best I've ever tasted either.....we got a little nervous at that, but the dinner got better with the entree's which were both very good and full of flavor. My girlfriend had Porcini Mushroom Ravioli which she loved and I decided on the Veal Portofino which was was large medallions of veal, stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella and spinach in a sage port wine demi glaze cream sauce....normally im not a big sage fan, but luckily it wasn't over powering.....I would definitely get it again. All in all it was a good experience, service was good, nice atmosphere...couldn't give them 5 stars cause of that appetizer, but I would definitely revisit this restaurant to try some of they're other dishes

Yelp
I visited this location for a business lunch with customers. First thought is this place is extremely cozy. Next thought was that this establishment looks to fit the part, totally Italian. I've been to Italy several times and this place took me back. The service was similar to the service in Italy. Straightforward and to the point...very direct and upfront. If you're looking for a humorous and entertaining wait staff, this isn't that type of place. They'll give you their opinions in dishes if asked but are pretty much a point of sale order intake. They were pretty prompt and checked in occasionally. On to the food...yum! For apps, we ordered fried calamari, eggplant frites and one of my first times trying, chicken parmigiana spring rolls. Omg, the spring rolls...so delicious! It's a must try and definitely not something to skip. It is like a mash up of chicken parmigiana and an egg roll all into a cigarette sized snack. The fried calamari was okay.. not the best nor the worst. On to the entree...I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It was definitely up there with one of the best I've had. I'm a fiend of eggplant parmigiana and this one didn't disappoint.

Yelp
Small and quaint. Fresh bread served with oil and parm cheese We had eggplant spring rolls, chicken parm, pesto gnocchi and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. It was end of night, so server was busy doing other things, but didn't leave us hanging. He was good. I'd go back!

Yelp
Homemade pasta options, friendly fast service. Carbonara was delicious! Groups larger than 6 would be challenging as the size is on the smaller side.

Yelp
The perfect little spot in Boston's North End for some authentic home made Italian food! Perfect ambience and wonderful atmosphere, the staff were engaging and friendly. I had the lasagne and the tomato mozzarella salad. So yummy and topped it off with some espresso! I've referred many people since!
