"Chef Keith Rhodes’s ode to the seafood of the Cape Fear Coast has been one of Wilmington’s most lauded restaurants since opening in 2006. The menu is certainly seafood focused, with dishes like Cajun-crusted North Carolina oysters, seared ahi tuna (with coconut-saffron risotto, baby spinach, oyster mushrooms, and a sesame buerre blanc), and a fried seafood platter that comes with the catch of the day plus jumbo shrimp and local oysters. The fish-averse can choose from the “Land Offerings” (steak, duck, and ribs), although the shrimp and grits with Benton’s bacon might be hard to turn down." - Matt Lardie

I've been wanting to come here for awhile. It was so good. Love the atmosphere, music very cozy. Service was phenomenal our server Amy totally on it. Every component of the dishes was delicious, from the bread, salad dressing etc. Highly recommend.

This hidden jewel was recommended to us by a local merchant. We were delightfully impressed by the cuisine. Don’t let the store front fool you. Behind their doors is an award winning chef and her perfectly balanced pastry chef of a daughter. This place is a must visit!!

Google
Impressed! Very impressed. We ate here last night with a party of 8 of us. The menu is not extensive, offering just a selection of several seafood dishes and a choice of ribs wirh fried shrimp. There were also a few apps and 3 salads. We pretty much ordered everything. There was not a single miss among the variety of dishes. Every single bite of every dish was nothing short of perfection. The fried seafood was lightly battered with a balance of salt and spice. Even the ribs were spot on. Catch has to be on your list if you are in the area or make the drive just for this experience. It's that good!

Always had an amazing meal and great service. Chef will over deliver even though we came in with high expectations. They always surpassed it. Highly recommend going to get the best seafood in Wilmington. Cocktails are amazing with an excellent bartender like Ricky and a perfect wine list to top it all off. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I love Catch. The food and cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is a combination of elegant and cozy. The service is excellent, and everything is always beautifully presented. A great spot for a delicious meal and a night out. Do not skip dessert! Highly recommend!

My mother and I have dinner at Catch restaurant every visit to Wilmington. We first experienced Catch in September of 2021 and we have made it a ritual to visit every trip. We love the upscale atmosphere and its dim lighting, the decor, the menu, the service etc. We enjoy every visit and have never had a bad experience. The food is spectacular & every dish is a 10/10! For appetizers, I would recommend the fried Okra, the crab dip and the firecracker shrimp. For an entree, I would recommend the crab cakes, and the delicious cheesy fried lobster Mac & Cheese and fore dessert, the chocolate lava cake. My mother and I are returning to Wilmington this month for the Holiday season so hopefully Catch will be on our list again this year!

Yelp
Wow!! We celebrated my mothers birthday tonight at this quaint restaurant. The starter bread and pesto was amazing. Next we had the Brussel sprouts and shrimp as appetizers. I highly recommend the crab cakes for entree. Dessert was banana cake and fudge birthday cake. The service was great and the evening was a great meal and a perfect experience. If you haven't been, you need to go!

Yelp
Review: Catch Restaurant 6623 Market Street. Chef Keith Rhodes So...I said "Self...let's start your, long-time-coming, experience at Catch on Market Street where our popular Executive Chef Keith Rhodes and his dedicated staff work their food magic, on Wednesday night when he has his Wagyu Beef cheeseburgers with fresh piping hot handocut fries on special for $15.00." Now...a typical night at this fabulous place is a 50.00 tab per person keeping it reasonable. And based on the menu on which I may have drizzled a bit of slobber while reading...it's well worth it. But my budget is a little less friendly as a rule... with room to splurge ever so often if I plan for it. But since you can't eat anywhere in Wilmington for less than 20.00 anymore... including fast food...I considered this deal a monster deal and have just been waiting to have a free Wednesday night to go try it out. Long appreciated and loved by locals and tourists alike. Catch is a destination for out-of-towners and boasts every reason for it. Receiving numerous awards and accolades over the years ...I'm a bit embarrassed as a foodie and former chef myself... that this was my first experience at Catch... not that the desire to catch up to it hasn't been on my mind for the same number of years. I didn't go alone. Accompanying me was a dear friend, also a foodie that was a guaranteed bite sharer ;) The atmosphere was clean, vibrant, cozy, romantic, welcoming and absolutely roomie enough to not feel like you are sitting at a group table sharing your private conversations as well a listening to every one else talk. It was just perfect. I had to stay focused as tempted a I was to try something else instead of a burger...but you know what? A chef can screw up a meat patty... and I needed to see it what he could do with such a delectable source of protein. Wagyu Beef that until now... I've never eaten. Don't get me wrong...My faith was so strong.. and I just wanted to know how he was going to take it over the top because I just knew he was going to. My companion ordered a simple fried shrimp plate with some uniquely presented sides ...sautéed collards and a sweet potato dish. The shrimp were enormous jumbos and bigger than I've ever witnessed on a fried shrimp plate. And there were at least a dozen I think. I didn't count but the serving size was more than I'd have been able to eat in one setting and it was the same for her. They tasted scrumptious! Nice light battering and a perfectly timed fry .... what can I say. You can screw up shrimp too.... and Catch just simply did not. Now...I expected an over the top burger at Catch... and size wize...it was comparable to any good burger place... nice and thick with a toasted bun I believed to be brioche... not sure... covered in a torched melted cheese with the baby awesome lettuce... not iceberg and a signature sauce that I couldn't identify... but the flavor was INCREDIBLE. A flavor beating out any I've ever eaten in a restaurant, this burger...I mean the meat just melted in my mouth..I can't describe it. I literally had to focus on it not sliding down my throat before I could taste it. I wanted to chew forever... but if I had this review might be a bit different. Juicy, hot, flavorful and tender... all the great componants of a burger. But a burger I will now crave. The fries were handcut, hot and came with a side of Truffle ketchup that was entirely consumed. And I'm not one to do anything but nibble on a few fries with a burger. Incredible union that Truffle and ketchup. I also ordered what was called a small Ceasars side salad ($5.00 with a meal).. that was anything but small... it came on a rectangular plate and let me tell you...I smelled the anchovies. Yum! No doubt a clearly traditional and authentic Ceasars salad. I could not eat it all.. but enjoyed every bite. My companion took advantage of the $5.00 Craft beer special as well and ordered a dark beer presented very nicely in a tall chilled glass. It was just top notch presentation all the way. The service was on point and very friendly and knowledgeable. She didn't stutter a bit when rambling off the nights specials and had an answer for every question without having to go check. Very helpful outside of her job as well, as she didn't hesitate to take our picture when asked. An enjoyable, well fed night in completion. I will be back with a bigger budget :) The only thing I regret is not getting a selfie with Chef Keith Rhodes. The place runs strong in his absence tho. He's proud and should be. Only reason is not a 5 star review is I have more eating to do ;)

Yelp
Tucked away in a small plaza, I almost missed this gem of culinary delight. Made reservations and hubby and I were able to get seated earlier than our reservations. I appreciated the modest size of the restaurant, the natural elements and color palate of the decor. I didn't know anything about the restaurant or chef prior to arriving so I viewed the website and was even more impressed as well as eager to dine here. They have a well rounded menu sourcing local seafood and other other meats. Each being complimented by imaginative vegetables and rices or potato creations. The beverages include beers, wines, mocktails and cocktails. I decided upon a cucumber margarita, grouper and a thinly sliced piece of coconut cake which was refreshing and delicious. My husband Ahi Tuna and we shared the sweet potato salad which was nothing short of divine. Our waitress was Amy who had exceptional people skills, was knowledgeable about the menu and demonstrated stellar customer. Overall experience was a 10/10... I have shared this restaurant with family who is headed to Wilmington also for vacation. Can't wait to return to try other menu items.

Yelp
This review is based off my most recent experience here and I don't think it's too reflective of how the restaurant is typically as it's super popular in Wilmington. We had a large group and the server was very attentive to us. My soda cup was super super dirty which was gross. We ordered the Brussels and shrimp for the appetizer and those were PHENOMENAL. Shrimp were so flavorful and the Brussels were some of the best I've had. I got the swordfish as my main and it really wasn't hot. Kind of warm but not really as hot as it should have been. I thought the flavor was good but the portion was a little disappointing for the price. We got some coconut cake for dessert which was super tasty and moist. Mixed feelings but I'd give them another shot!

Yelp
Amazing experience at this CLASSY restaurant! This was a special dinner & we wanted something really upscale....it cracks me up a little that here in the nine-one-oh you get these phenomenal restaurants in little un-suspected places (usually strip malls, lol). From STELLAR service (Dení was SO professional & service worthy of big-city 5-star restaurant service!). To the amazing food & lovely cozy ambiance. You can come dressed up or wear a t-shirt; it caters to either as it's a no-judge establishment! The chef here has won accolades & we heard about him thru friends but hadn't been yet. Sad we waited so long! DEF call for a reservation, there's limited seating. BTW it's spaced out well so tables have adequate intimacy, but it's still a medium-small place so on a busy night there could be ambient noise. We came when about 1/3 of tables were occupied so it was delightfully quiet & very romantic (warm low lighting & soft smooth jazz in the air). Grouper filet was like flaky-butter-fish melting in my mouth - the glaze on the green beans could have been on the grouper - it was freakin awesome & not overpowering, if you get this ask for extra on the side/wish I had!). Salmon was cooked perfect med-rare with a crispy skin & crispy glaze (how on earth they do that with the moist center is a mystery to me!). Firecracker shrimp starter was OMG amazing, jumbo shrimp tasted like they were same-day caught! Coconut cake dessert was DI-VINE. Expect $25-35 per plate (over 40 if you get fresh oysters or lobster or filet). Good pics of the menu already on here/yelp. They do have nightly specials as well. CLASSY CLASSY UPSCALE DINING!

Yelp
ALways Great Food, Great Service, and Wonderful selection of Seafood. We always enjoy our visits.

Yelp
The hubster knocked it completely out of the park with this reservation tonight! We drove up from Augusta and stopped on our way to Topsail North Carolina. Dinner was absolutely delicious. The staff was amazing and we had the entire restaurant to ourselves, since the weather wasn't the best tonight. Since we are out of towners, everyone gave us their recommendations on where to eat and what to do while in town. The lights are dimmed perfectly and the music is at a great volume to enjoy and still have a nice conversation. Their chef has been Mimi acted for 2023 Chef of Wilmington.

Angela L.

Yelp
Had a late birthday dinner here and it was lovely from the get go! The receptionists were very pleasant, we got to move our reservation quickly and everyone was very accommodating. Our waiter was lovely and easy to talk to. Firecracker shrimp - bit too salty for me and "expected" flavor wise, I'd want to try their calamari next time Duck daily special with green beans - green beans soaked up such amazing flavor idk how they do it. Duck was crispy and fatty, sauce was great and the rice grew on me Dry aged salmon with miso noodles - salmon was cooked to perfection and entree was delicious but the noodles in sauce were a bit too salty/sweet, I'd prefer it a tad more subtle Bread and dip - dip was like a pesto garlicky dip which was good. Bread was a bit too soft for my liking. I like a crisp on the outside Overall fantastic place to dine at, the crew (both kitchen and staff) run a tight ship and the space felt warm, clean, and inviting!

Nicole M.

Yelp
We arrived right after opening on a Friday night. Quant and romantic Also casual but nice. Friendly and accommodating service. Knowledgeable staff on all aspects. We had the swordfish off regular menu and the red grouper off nightly specials as well as the fire cracker shrimp which was all exquisitely prepared. I didn't eat my dessert yet but I'm sure the coconut layered dessert will be amazing.

Valerie D.

Yelp
My husband seemed to like the food, said it was very tasty. I thought it was just ok. For the money I would have rather gone elsewhere as it's very expensive. I think what turned me off the most is the decor. It a place that is supposed to be serving high end food and looks like a cheap diner. The service was great. I am only giving it 3 stars because of the ambiance which it lacked. So please go you may enjoy it, I just didn't. Honestly, I am not very picky, but I was just very unimpressed with the whole experience.

Ann M.

Yelp
Had been so looking forward to trying this restaurant and was incredibly pleased with everything from our greeting from the hostess, our wait staff to the delicious food and surroundings. We began with the heirloom tomato and burrata starter with pistachios, which was mouthwatering. We had the salmon and grouper as entrees and left nothing on our plates. Finished off with the coconut cake to take home and enjoy later. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely plan on revisiting often.

Yelp
Catch is unassuming from the outside, tucked into a tiny strip mall along bustling Market Street in Wilmington. Once you step inside, everything changes. The decor is welcoming and soothing, with colorful photographs showcasing the area. The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge has never looked so good. The menu is seafood forward, and highlights the abundance of fresh seafood available in the Cape Fear region. Be sure to take note of the daily specials menu, where the chef's creativity really shines. Service is top notch, attentive, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Atmosphere is great, low lighting with sexy R&B playing on the speakers, loud enough to mask sounds from other tables but soft enough to hear your dining companions easily. My only nit is the dining chairs are quite hard and sitting for an extended time can get uncomfortable. One of the highlights were local oysters served with made-in-house sauces, including mignonette and cocktail, with a small bottle of Chef's own hot sauce. On the day I dined at Catch, the oysters were exceptionally briny, due to the lack of rain in the area, and the sauces seemed to have a little extra sweetness to balance their saltiness. It's little touches like that that make Catch a dining destination, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself. Other standout dishes were the pan roasted diver scallops and the seared ahi tuna, both daily menu specials. Catch also has a lovely cocktail list, and they make their drinks to order. It's well worth the wait for a properly mixed libation. Bottom line - Catch is a catch. I'll be back.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place. We called on Monday asking if they would serve angry lobster on Saturday night. They said yes do we made a reservation. They told us there were no tables available so we would have to sit at the bar. We showed up Saturday. Half the place was empty, so we got a table. When I ordered the angry lobster, I was told that they were not serving it! So very disappointed. Anyway , I asked for gluten free options and the waitress wasn't sure which dishes I could order. She seemed at a loss... then she admitted that the chef was not even there! On a Saturday night? That is when we left and went to eat somewhere else. Bad service and too many lies. I won't be going there anymore

Melody B.

Yelp
Made reservations here for my birthday dinner and they seated us immediately. I ordered the crispy skin salmon filet with a petite Caesar salad. My husband got shrimp & grits with a petite Caesar as well. This was the best Caesar salad I've ever had. I usually don't eat the skin on the salmon, but I couldn't get enough of it from my dish. The noodles also tasted so fresh. Our server told us that the chef changes the menu frequently and adds seasonal dishes so take advantage of something when you see it. Service was top tier from everyone. This is definitely a blink and you'll miss it restaurant, but do not skip! Perfect place for special occasions and really good seafood dishes.

Jeff H.

Yelp
The food and service was phenomenal. Started with a smoked Old Fashion and the raw oysters. I took the staff recommendation on the scallops and mussels in a coconut curry sauce with risotto and bokchoy. Paired wonderfully with a Sonoma Chardonnay was tough to beat We had a party of 17 and the staff took great care of us!

Charlene C.

Yelp
Made dinner reservations 3 and 1/2 weeks in advance on opentable. Make sure to not cancel in less one day from the reservation, otherwise, there will be a charge. I liked the hand sanitizer pump stand and the individually wrapped sanitizer packets at the front door. It was nice our table was set up for us with the menus already on the table. We all ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, tempura lobster tail, shrimp and grits, and bbq back ribs. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My friend enjoyed the sweet potato brulee that came with the bbq back ribs. It looked just like a creme brulee with a caramelized sugar crust. The brussel sprouts were great. We also got complimentary warm bread with pesto oil dip. Some things to improve could be the bread could have been a higher quality crusty bread and the shrimp in the shrimp and grits dish could have been tailless. It is easier to eat the shrimp and grits dish without the tail, but that could just be preference. My dish was the tempura lobster tail. The tempura was crispy and the lobster cream sauce was served on the tempura lobster itself. I really loved the mac and cheese (They used penne pasta)-It was just full of flavor and hit the spot. The steamed broccoli balanced out the richness of the lobster and mac and cheese. I forgot that I wrote in the comments of the reservation that we were celebrating birthdays. At the end of our meal they brought out complimentary honey bun cake slices with toasted chopped pecans, lit candles, and cute happy birthday signs. It was such a nice sweet surprise. The cake was good, but too sweet for my taste. I appreciated that they let us enjoy our time at the restaurant. We sat at our table for about 2 and 1/2 hours. Although, it was a pretty quiet Wednesday night. Our waitress was great, personable. Overall, we had a great experience!

Yelp
Decided to celebrate a birthday here , great food and nice ambiance. I had made a reservation since I know this place can be super busy . Arrived, promptly greeted and shown to our table . Menus were given , water poured and bread arrived to the table super quick. Robert was the perfect server , very attentive. We decided to start with Buttermilk Fried Calamari , tiny greens, red curry and pineapple. The pan roasted Grouper with chevre creamed potatoes, sauté haricot vert and sweet corn bacon vinaigrette caught my eye . Our other dinner chosen was a Drunken Lobster special . It came with rice with mushrooms , carrot strings in it there were pickled red onions , caviar and tiny greens on top. The lobster was already picked from the shell. The calamari arrived, it was perfectly fried , a nice light batter with great crunch and flavor. The red curry was pleasant but spicy there was a sauce- slightly spicy on top with black and white sesame seeds on it . It was excellent , well worth trying. Dinner arrived in fairly short order , and looked perfect. The grouper was nicely roasted , great flavor and very tender. The potatoes were creamy and the chevre very forward. The haricots were cooked al dente and delicious. The sweet corn bacon vinaigrette was pleasant and tied the dish together. The Drunken lobster was excellent. The meat tender , it had been finished in a wok with a chili whiskey sauce and had great flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked , not starchy. It was delicious I was told. The portions were perfect, not too little or too much . There was even a small chocolate Bundt cake topped with whipped cream . It was moist and super chocolatey. It was a perfect night to celebrate a birthday with wonderful food and service.

Yelp
Good , creative entrees. But you'll pay gig it. I ordered a simple crab appetizer and entree, and a dessert No alcohol. and I paid $-17 before tip.

Paula L.

Yelp
Love the innovative food here Great wine selection and amazing service. I have been to catch several times and always consistent

Rick G.

Yelp
I certainly was Blown away with what I call the new and improved Catch 2.0. Everything is back and better than before. The food was always high quality but it has improved and expanded in many ways. Covid may have been the impetus for this makeover and I'm just thrilled with the results. Service was great provided by Kim. So sweet and catered to our entire experience. Bravo Kim. Soft shell crabs are what caught my attention but the meal was so much more. It's all about attention to detail and Catch hits it out of the park. The competition is going to have to pay attention to this spectacular Wilmington gem, to be cherished for many more years to come.

Debi S.

Yelp
I loved everything I had here. I wish I would have come with some friends to try more of the items on the menu. Starting with the fried whole snapper-it was the most flavorful and moist fried red snapper I've tried anywhere. Usually fried seafood loses a lot of flavor but not here. It was perfectly paired with delicious fried sweet plantains and a coconut curry rice and beans side. The pickled vegetables on the side balanced everything out wonderfully! I also had the baked dirty south scallops-thanksgiving in a bite! I loved this southern take on the oyster Rockefeller-green beans, greens, bacon, cheese and a delicious spice mix. The drinks were also well crafted- I always appreciate the places where there's a large block of ice in the old fashioned. I was stuffed in the best kind of way but had to try dessert and I wasn't disappointed. The coconut cake was amazing! The restaurant is beautiful and the service stands out for their attentiveness. Reservations are highly recommended. I walked in on a Wednesday night at about 6:30 and they were booked for the night. They were kind enough to add a bar seat for me. Visiting downtown Wilmington just for the day and very glad I stopped here.

Yelp
First visit while in the area. Located in a nondescript building a part of a nameless strip mall, this little gem delights the senses and pleases. Everything that I tried from the bread and fresh pesto to the Dirty South Oysters (that are smokey and flavorful and even includes collards for a true Southern touch), sweet potato salad, salmon or buttermilk pie - I was completely astonished at the levels of flavor and the perfect blend of seasonings! One true measure of a quality restaurant in my opinion is the little things. As an example, lemons. Lemons are simple. Cheap. Easy to obtain but they are not always fresh. Many establishments serve you dry lemons that you must wrestle with in order to produce any juice. Not the case here. Fresh lemons are a sign of meticulous detail and quality control. When paired with my salmon, I was pleasantly surprised and elated. The salmon - hands down and I never expected to be writing this - the best restaurant salmon that I've ever written had. Perfectly seasoned, a proper level of crispness and moist until the very end. Moist all the way through and cut in a manner that maintained an even thickness. No tapered and thin edges that would easily become overcooked and dried out. Additionally, the buttermilk pie is extraordinary. I only hate that I was too full to eat more. Finally - the staff. Super attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable and certainly valued assets within this establishment. I WILL visit again, repeatedly and I'm extremely happy that I've discovered the wonderment that is Catch! I beseech uou to visit when in town and if not in town, make the trip...they're worth it!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Had a wonderful & mouthwatering dinner here Saturday night. Food & Service were sublime! We had the sweet potato salad, fire cracker shrimp, lump crab cakes, & the key lime tart. They were all delicious. I highly recommend this establishment if you are in Wilmington.

Addison M.

Yelp
Everything was meh. Over priced for the quality. Slow. Food isn't worth the price. A lot of potential, but can't recommend and wouldn't go back

Charles P.

Yelp
Great unassuming restaurant in a strip mall off a very busy Market Street in Wilmington. The waitstaff was outstanding. The food was good and definitely a different take. I had the shrimp and grits. Although different from my expectation, the chef's take on this southern mainstay was exceptional. I recommend checking out this joint.

Gary S.

Yelp
Best chef in Wilmington offering the best flavors and nes dishes all the time. Love the Dirty south oysters and grilled grouper but even better when soft shells are in season. Ps have the cocoanut cake

Tonya C.

Yelp
Hubby wanted to treat me to a nice, romantic dinner. He sent me a list and I chose Catch in Wilmington, NC. The menu online was not exactly the same as what we were given. Him being a non-seafood lover, I was worried he would only have the option of ribs. Man was I glad we stayed!!! They had items not printed on the menu. Luckily we were given more bread because three little pieces was not enough for me to sop up all that delicious oil! They give you a tall chilled bottle of water for the table. ( no waiting on a refill- unless you're extra thirsty) I ordered the whole trout. My favorite is red snapper (so much meat and flavor, but to mention larger sized bones), but this trout was on point!!! The picked veggies on top were amazing! The plantains were cooked to perfection like I love them (not mushy), the rice was very tasty - hard to explain the flavor, but it most definitely worked for the dish. My husbands steak melted in your mouth (I tasted it)! The dessert I chose (over the chocolate Bundt molten cake and key lime tarte was the Honey Bun Cake! My my my!! It's a white wedding cake with honey bun swirled within, white icing and caramel drizzle. I was so full without feeling overstuffed. I'd definitely return!!!!! Music and ambiance was super! Our waiter was awesome too!!! Described everything to a tee- had to return to get order correct, but it was okay. I only gave four stars because they had two tables side by side reserved for social distancing yet they sat someone on all three sides if us. Not okay!

Omar W.

Yelp
Everything was perfect. Came from Charlotte, NC just to visit this restaurant and it did not disappoint.

Rick D.

Yelp
Well, disappointed. They gave us the specials change every night menu, so we got here at 530 when they opened and they were out of the Drum fish on the new daily menu is out? Poor planning on the kitchen, before you put out a "new" menu, do you have the stock? We ordered the calamari, not bad, but not hot?! So this is our 3 touch and taste of the Catch businesses. Highly recommend if you get with Tackle Box truck is a winner and Asia (hostess) work Catch and TB. Prior to that they catered a Yelp event it was awesome, then to get here and, bam your main location is poorly run due to no or just lack of planning. So the wife was set on the Drum. Gone! There really is no excuse for a daily menu not to have your special on it and you walk in as the first customer, to find out, it's out of stock? I ordered the shrimp and grits and The wife ordered,Sweet potato salad w/ grilled shrimp. The shrimp tasted frozen and was a little on the tough side. Again this is one of these places I feel like a chef opens it the food is "Amazing" and then he moves on and the staff and him just stop caring about the brand, is the feel I get. Like Ramsey says taste it. They just stopped tasting their own food. We will go back, as I am typically a 3 strike person. Asia made it special along with Amy, so the server/host staff nailed it hence the 3 stars and the wife said hers was good.

joan J.

Yelp
Just had a wonderful meal! Top notch service and food! Each dish was uniquely plated and delicious! Always a dining experience. Thank you for helping celebrate my birthday!

Carol M.

Yelp
I had a great meal at Catch - seared tuna that melted in your mouth. Yum! The waitstaff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I look forward to returning.

Dallas J.

Yelp
Ambiance was great, but the main course food was not great. Neither of us finished our plates. The Lobster plate was so salty I couldn't take more than 10 bites, and the shrimp and grits was just not exciting after half a plate.

Christine C.

Yelp
This was such a great experience! We were in Wilmington for a bff trip, two moms out enjoying the beach and great food. We made a reservation and were celebrating my birthday. Our server was very attentive and had great suggestions. Food was all wonderful and fresh. Drinks were yummy and strong. The azalea was perfectly refreshing, the catch martini was strong but also tasty. To top off the dinner they brought out a decadent chocolate cake for dessert.

Michael B.

Yelp
Chef Keith Rhodes is a gift to Wilmington. Modern seafood masterfully prepared, excellent service, and great cocktails. One of the best restaurants in town.

Alexis H.

Yelp
Wow! AMAZING food & service. Drove down from Raleigh for my boyfriends mother's birthday and this restaurant was hands down the BEST restaurant I've been to in a while. They treated my mother-in-law like a Queen that she is. She was greeted with a appetizer on the house and drink as well as saluted with a birthday lava cake at the end. Chef is also amazing and from Top Chef, Bravo network. He came out at the end and greeted us and thanked us for coming out. He even took a flick with the birthday girl. Definitely coming back when I return to Wilmington to bring my immediate family. They would really love this restaurant.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Wilmington institution. If you like seafood, go to Catch. But make a reservation, as they have limited seating and a small dinning room. The inside could use some updating and creature comforts, but the food is exceptional. Chef Rhodes is honestly a genius with his flavor combinations and celebrations of food heritage and origins. Makes a wonderful special night out!

Yelp
Great food. Local seafood. Chef is renowned and worth the shot. Give it a shot. You'll be glad you did

Yelp
Nothing less than 5 stars for this place! Great tasting food, nice atmosphere, awesome service. We came here for our anniversary dinner and the food was phenomenal.

Yelp
Angry Lobster sooooo good service is amazing and you will love everything about this place !

Yelp
Pros: The angry lobster was very good Cons: disappointed with the southern oysters and the short ribs-- dry and decent flavor but not amazing.. pricey for what you get.

Yelp
I saw a review where someone said they can't understand how this restaurant could get less than five stars and I second that sentiment wholeheartedly. Firstly I appreciate the the covid precautions, limited seating, reservations needed and distanced tables. Everyone working was also wearing masks so thank you for being responsible. We started with cocktails, the orange sangria for my husband and the paloma for myself. I was apprehensive about the cost but the drinks are strong and delicious and well worth the price. For food we shared one of the specials, six scallops atop mashed sweet potatoes and mussels in a spicy broth, I want to say curry broth but I can't remember. Looking through pictures on yelp it seems that this is a special that comes around pretty regularly so if they have it when you're there, get it. We also shared the sesame salmon which was very, very good. My only tiny complaint is that our server didn't ask us how we wanted it cooked and I forgot to say so it was a little undercooked for my liking but no worries bc that is a personal preference. Those mashed sweet potatoes though were what dreams are made of honestly. I also wanted to try the jerk collards but sadly I'll have to wait until next time. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner!

Yelp
Incredible!!! First of all, the atmosphere is intimate and relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The music was romantic and really set a tone for the evening. The food. Y'all, the food. We love seafood, and this is not your run of the mill seafood joint. The chef pairs seafood with dynamic and artistic flavors. We both ordered specials. The unique flavors, generous serving sizes, and fresh ingredients make for a fantastic meal. This chef nails everything- appetizer, main course, to dessert. It was our anniversary, so my husband called ahead to ask for a little something' somethin' extra. They celebrated WITH us. I don't know how to tell you how special it is during these times to have people do thoughtful, genuine, and compassionate. Really can't say enough about our experience here. Top 3 in ILM for sure. Thank you, Catch. We will be back... a lot.

Yelp
Amazing food! Delicious! Artistic! Stylish! Everything including desert was wonderful!

Yelp
My wife and I have been wanting to try Catch for some time. Finally made reservations for dinner and gave it a try. Our collective opinion, good, not great. We have our standard places we typically visit and found ourselves saying several times, we should have just gone to Cape Fear Seafood or one of the other spots. Prices were about 2x what we paid elsewhere and just didn't find the value in food, service or atmosphere. Been there, done that, don't plan to go back. Better options.....

Yelp
Over priced and the service is unbelievably slow. Overrated. While waiting for the food they give you ONE cigarette box sized bread to "split" and charge you in you want more. Was thinking about ordering a pizza delivery to hold us over till our food arrive. It's THAT slow.

Yelp
This dude can cook! It is definitely a place for foodies! We had octopus and amazing sides as we wanted to sample the menu. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. I think it's a local place, but the quality of food they're putting out the secret needs to be let out!

Yelp
Great restaurant, recommended by our friend LeAnna in Durham. We didn't have reservations, but it was our anniversary, and they were gracious to find an opening for us. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance and bar, wonderful menu, caring staff and delicious food and great drinks. We really had a top tier experience and I can't wait to visit again next time we are here.
