Nothing special about the setting of the place. Your local spot. I bought the 6 fried fish, fries, and hush puppies. The fish was super bland. No flavor at all. It was crispy. The hush puppies were okay. The fries were super bland. The corn nuggets and onion rings are just like everything else…fried and bland. The service was okay as I asked the cashier “are they full filets?” And she told me yes. They were cut in half and counted as 1. She was super sweet. But WHERES THE FLAVOR?!?! I would search for the next spot.

I got the shrimp po’boy and my boyfriend got the fried catfish. It was overall decent. I thought the hush puppies tasted a little different .the fried pickles were also decent. I think next time I would try something different in the menu

The young man behind the counter was really nice, but the catfish was ok. I was expecting the catfish in the tacos to be fried, but it was grilled. Did like that it was pretty quite that night I came in.

First time here and my last time! Food: I ordered 2 2pc catfish with fries and rice. All of it was bland and tasteless no seasoning at all I was so mad I paid 30 dollars for nasty food and the hush puppies was over cooked or fried on old oil which gave it a weird taste and texture. The customer service was good and the atmosphere was decent!

I had a craving for fish and decided to check out catfish house since it is local to us. We’ve passed by the place for two years since living in the area and I’m so glad we stopped by. The food did not disappoint. My husband and I enjoyed our meals. We each ordered a catfish and shrimp basket with salad and coleslaw. The food was fresh to order and delicious. I took my banana pudding to go and enjoyed it at home. Customer service was great. We will definitely be back.

Wow ! Total bad ass SEAFOOD feast !! The whole lobby and kitchen crew are incredibly polite, friendly, and always welcoming… Food is insane… !

It was my first time at this restaurant spot the catfish was fresh it was hot made to order and the customer service was awesome. Even the dessert. I would recommend the carrot cake. Actually love this so much I told my friends and family about it my next visit will be with the group

I already posted but I'll do it again. I had the 2 catfish filets with 4 butterfly shrimp and 3 hushpuppies (extra). Everything on my plate was cooked to perfection 'para chupar Los dedos. Finger licking good! Hubby enjoyed his catfish po'boy and nongreasy fries. We give them 5 stars and the staff as well.

Exactly what you would expect when driving through rural Louisiana except it's right here in town! Lots of locals, even sales people bringing clients in when I visited. I over heard the salesman tell his clients that everything on the menu is amazing. Great service and great decor to match the vibe. Catfish was perfect, thin and crispy like I love it. Poorboy we dresses perfectly as well. My only knock on the place would be they don't use traditional Poorboy bread, kind of a disappointment. However overall it's a true southern experience!

Great find from Yelp. Saw the reviews and tried Catfish House for lunch. It's a big place, but was almost empty when we arrived. You order at the counter from an extensive menu. We went with the catfish fillet basket and fried green tomatoes. The fish was light, crispy and cooked perfectly. Fried green tomatoes were solid too. Fast, friendly service and reasonable prices. Nice place with excellent food. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered take out Catfish fillets Calamari And Gumbo Eating are was nice. Very clean and quiet Staff that took my order was pleasant and good customer service When I got home the fish fillets were still hot. Expected to have to reheat them but it was not needed I ate the calamari on the drive home as the food smelled so good. They were hot, not over breaded and not over cooked at all. Very tender The gumbo was good, but the rue was oily. Who ever made the rue was in to big a hurry. The reason they still get Five Stars is because the gumbo had lots of shrimp and other ingredients. They were not stinging with what they put I to the gumbo I was impressed with this small hole in the wall operation and will return

Knew it was the right place upon entering was greeted by staff. Catfish and green tomatoes were satisfying. Would come back again.

Hubby & I LOVE this place. When we head to the Chinese Supermarket in Carrollton, we always plan our shopping trip around stopping in here for some cajun inspired seafood delights. First of all they have beer on ice & that's always nice! haha. We love that this is a "Quick serve/Self serve" Cajun seafood place that has amazing food & is a great value. It's a very casual hole in the wall kinda place in a strip mall, just like you would find in a small town in French Louisiana somewhere. OuiOui. The seafood is always cooked perfectly & the coleslaw is amazing. We love the coleslaw & fries here. Love that they add purple onion to the po'boys. Not on authentic NOLA bread but very very good french bread. Will Return. Highly Recommend.

If you were in Louisiana on a fishing trip and stopped at a small town catfish place, this would be it. Nothing fancy here but great food. Two guys who look like they would be just as comfortable renting you a boat, work hard to deliver really good food. The menu goes much further than you would expect. How about some fried tomatoes, fried pickles or frog legs. Salmon, tilapia and oysters are here too. There is a kids menu, Some TVs for sports are present but this is a fairly quiet room. No chicken or beef here except for buffalo wings. Enjoy.

I got the grilled catfish plate with rice and grilled veggies. It was delicious! The fish was flavorful. The veggies were cooked well and the rice was sprinkled with fresh parsley. This place is going on my rotation list.

Ate there twice this week, need I say more. The food is always fresh and hot. The service is awesome, they are alway nice and accommodating and I love the music choice. I had Fried Catfish, Grilled Catfish Plate, Pecan Pie, Fried Shrimp and Fried okra and coleslaw...ok I said I ate there twice this week

This place has changed a lot over the years. We used to love eating here but - as others have mentioned - the hush puppies are awful now and the catfish is incredibly bland. Fries have never been great and they still aren't. Baked potato was overdone. 2 stars only because people that worked there were somewhat friendly and quickly corrected a mistake they made on our order. Sadly will have to look for catfish somewhere else.

This place is always amazing. Great service always clean and fast service. Tonight I had the combo with Shrimp, Catfish and Oysters. As always it was delicious.

We just got appetizers and were disappointed that they were all just packaged frozen items that they deep fried. I don't know why I expected them to be fresh or hand breaded. The crawfish tails were okay. The fried clams were bad...just tasted like breading. The fried pickles were disappointing. The sweet corn nuggets were good (according to my wife). The restaurant space is cute and inviting. Like others have noted, it's quiet so you can have a nice conversation over dinner.

We bought a large order of catfish zwhich came with fries and hush puppies. The catfish was fried nicely, but it lacked seasoning, as did the fries.

Excellent food!! The whole catfish was huge and perfectly juicy and crispy! Impossibly, the staff was even better :) I ordered the small seafood cocktail- it was perfect and not small at all the flavors were perfectly balanced and the ratio was great- shrimp was marinated to absolutely gold standard! Would eat here again and again!

The food was delicious . We had one of the combination plates with catfish, shrimp, and fries. We also had dessert; home made Banana pudding made with homemade pudding, Nilla wafers and fresh bananas. They even had a little Johnny Tailor, James Brown, Cool and the Gang, and Earth Wind and Fire on their playlist. It was a nice vibe. The Service was great!

Quarantine sucks and DoorDash is a must. I was wanting some fried fish, and The Catfish House was right in my area. The batter on the fish was perfect crisp and not to much. The flavors of fish was a fresh and had a creaole seasoning flavor. The fish was light and not fishy tasting. The meal came with hush puppies, and I ordered coleslaw which was good and not over dressed. This place was a good option for eating some good catfish. I like eating fish, and this will not be my last time eating at The Catfish House.

Yummy yummy yummy. Great food, seasoned very well, good prices, and employees are very friendly. Been by a few times and was testing the consistency of the food and staff and have never been disappointed in either. Great place for a quick lunch/dinner.

Great food. I had the Catfish filets with the baked potato and cole slaw. Very tasty. Fast and friendly service.

I so wanted this place to be good but it wasn't. Ordered 2 fried catfish filets, 3 fried oyster, and 3 fried shrimp. The oysters were the size of your thumbnail. So small that they tasted little oyster flavored breading bits. The shrimp was some generic prebreaded frozen shrimp thrown into a deep fryer. Rubbery and tasteless. Finally the catfish. It was over breaded and over cooked. If you want catfish cooked properly go to Pappadeaux's or Babe's they know how to do it. This place not some much. For $21.95 I was expecting more.

I always have a good time at the Catfish House. Quiet with jazz and blues music playing, it is a rare place where you don't have to shout with your fellow diners. I choose the shrimp and oysters combo. Yes, all fried and all fresh. Hush puppies are usually included. Take a pause and get some good seafood in Carrollton.

When looking for a quick and simple place to satisfy your fried food cravings, Catfish House hits the spot! Their soft shell crab platter comes with two delicious, perfectly crispy servings of crab. The crabs were prepared well, tasted clean, and fried to the point where the thin layer of shell was never even noticed. Whether dunking it in tartar sauce, ketchup, cocktail sauce, or even straight out of the frier, you can't go wrong with these soft shell crabs! Also, those hush puppy sticks they served definitely pack some heat. No bland and boring hush puppies here! It's not always easy finding a place that consistently serves good soft shell crab, so I'm glad Catfish House continues to keep these cravings in check!

This place is great. They have a great happy hour and the bartenders are wonderful. Now, their food is great. The gumbo, their jalapeño soup is so good. My niece is a super fan of the crawfish, their peel and eat shrimp is great; plus blackened fish tacos and grilled shrimp dinners are on the top of my list. It gets super busy because it's so good, but it's worth the wait!

Let me just preface this by saying I am a snob about my catfish, with that said this place definitely deserves four stars! They serve real domestic catfish not Swai fish, the portion sizes are generous the fillets are literally the size of a whole catfish. One of the most important things to me is the cleanliness of the fish. I absolutely did not taste any fishy smell and they cleaned out the intestine line which is my number one pet peeve if if left in it. The baked potato was like butter literally melted with just a very light touch of my fork the skin and the inside of the potato was so moist it was almost like a mashed potato. The hush puppies and corn are also very delicious, the whole entire meal I was more than pleased with and will be happy to return again!

I've been eyeing this place for a while and decided to give it a try today. I got a 4 piece shrimp & fillet basket with a side of mozzarella sticks. Cashier was great and the place was very clean and cozy but my ONLY issue is with the food. Shrimp and fillet didn't have much flavor and sauces weren't that good either. Fries had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. I couldn't even finish them all and that says a lot bc I usually finish everything. This place is a little pricey so I did expect better quality food. The Mozz sticks were the best thing from my meal but even then they weren't too flavorful.

Don't waste your time or money! Food is never consistent! Evil workers - re-drops food in the grease to make food look hot... I wish the health department would pay them a visit! Seriously

This is one of our fav places. Really really good food. The gumbo is awesome, as well as the fried fish, shrimp and okra. We will mosdef come back here again and again.

I was in the neighborhood and saw this cafe. In a strip center and very unassuming. But this place rocks. Inexpensive with unusual fares. Frog leg baskets, fried green tomatoes, and awesome catfish. I can't wait to go back. Catfish filets were hot, crisp, and flavor filled. Beer is 3.50.

My son wanted Seafood so he ordered po boy catfish and a soft shell crab basket. The food was delicious and hot and fresh. The tartar cocktail sauce and ketchup or also very good and cold. Great prices and service we will be back. Delicious hush puppies and Fries as well.

Price- pretty good/average $11 for 2 fried catfish plus baked potato Ambiance- divey with lots of ocean motif decor. Food- beware peanut people - 100% peanut oil. Fish was fine. Clam chowder is good. Baked potato is actually super good. Not sure we will be back.... But maybe if I have a fried catfish craving.

Ate here before covid. Got the catfish and it didn't disappoint. The batter is perfectly seasoned and crunchy. I'll eventually be back eventually!!

Today (10/03/18) I was craving catfish and shrimp. I decided to try the clams (never had clams...I know I'm from the northeast home of clam chowder) they were good for my first time. Everything was good! The grill shrimp was absolutely delicious! The order taker was a sweetheart. In my opinion the food is a bit overpriced for the quality. The raw oysters were TASTELESS no brine whatsoever-very disappointing. I'll go again for the grilled choices.

Price is not worth the average tasting fish . No flavor very bland . Kid sr the register need to learn customer service..... Don't waste you time or money!!!

Very reasonable priced, I love the catfish here seasoned just right and always fresh. If I don't get my fish from pappadeaux , I come here due to price and quality. Crab legs are also nice here too!

I have tried this place 3 times now. Unfortunately, this fish is soo good that I have not gotten a picture of the food before devouring it. I have tried the whole catfish, fries and hush puppies twice . I have also tried the Mexican shrimp cocktail and the fried green tomatoes. I highly recommend this establishment. The food is fresh and the fried fish is cooked to perfection each and every time. I do wish I could order ahead instead of ordering when I get there. Other than that. I will be back.

The staff was so NICE...I hate to give them 3 stars BUTTTTT...ummm....the catfish nuggets were BLAND as heck! No seasoning after asking for EXTRA seasoning lol. Fries & hush puppies were regular tasting. I wish I could say something better. :)

Love the whole fried catfish. It is amazing. It has the right crisp on the outside, but still moist on the inside. My go to when I want catfish.

My husband and I were excited to order out for dinner. We both ordered a fried tilapia and shrimp basket with fries and hush puppies. My husband went inside the restaurant, picked up our order, and left a decent tip. Once we got home, we began eating our dinner and my husband made a comment about the fish tasting bad. I looked and noticed we both had catfish, which we normally like...not this time, but it wasn't what we had ordered. My husband couldn't eat his, and threw it away. I could only eat a little. I called the restaurant to let them know and after the man looked up our order, he confirmed we had been given catfish. He spoke with someone, then came back to the phone saying he couldn't do anything about it. I was shocked. I said, "you're not going to do anything?" He repeated very curtly that he was not. I can't believe this place and their uncaring attitude towards customers! The ONLY reason I gave them 1 star is because I liked the fries and hush puppies okay. Not the best I've ever had, but they were tasty. We will definitely NOT be returning to this restaurant.

This place blew me away! I had not had good catfish in awhile after my favorite spot closed and this place really hit the spot. The service was fast and restaurant clean. Servings were giant and we left the restaurant, too, full but it was worth it! The food is a great price considering quality and quantity. The batter was extremely crispy and cooked fresh. I highly recommend this spot!

I got the combo consisting of 1 piece of fish, 4 shrimp and I got a side of clams. Cole slaw was pretty good, everything else was just ok.
