Relaxed place featuring regional Filipino cooking with fusion influences plus wine & cocktails.
"This is a small Filipino restaurant in Wicker Park that has a dimly-lit interior and a cute back patio. Sitting back there feels a little like you’re having dinner on the deck of a Wicker Park single-family home you’ll never own. This means you can enjoy dishes like kinilaw, chicken adobo, and a fantastic sisig without worrying about a mortgage or whether the squirrels are getting into the garage." - adrian kane
"The Tan family (executive chef Malvin, pastry chef Cybill and general manager Marlon) own this Wicker Park restaurant named after Cebu, the capital of Philippine lechon (whole-roasted pig). Their version is a generous curl of pork belly, the crispy skin encircling the tender hunk, flavored with lemongrass, garlic, and star anise (call ahead, limited quantities). Do not skip the freshly baked pandesal (toasted wheat rolls dusted with crumb, served with a side of whipped butter). Reservations suggested for weekend brunch and dinner, look for Filipino flavors on the pastry and happy hour cocktail menus, too." - Sarahlynn Pablo, Eater Staff
"This Filipino restaurant in Wicker Park works well for date night, dinner with a friend, or even just having some chicken adobo by yourself. The charm factor increases even more when you can sit on their small, tree-lined back patio. It feels like the kind of tiny urban backyard you’re certain exists but have never experienced for yourself, like exact change or a runner’s high. Don’t skip out on dessert while you’re here—the pastries are fantastic and the halo halo is some of the best we’ve had in Chicago." - adrian kane, veda kilaru
"This family-run Filipino restaurant not only has superb lumpia, halo-halo, and Cebuano-style pancit, it’s also got a tranquil back patio on which to enjoy them." - Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff
"Wicker Park Filipino restaurant Cebu recently expanded its brunch menu and began offering it on weekdays, so there’s no need to wait for the weekend to sample the new savory dishes such as a wagyu breakfast burger with black truffle tamarind potato wedges and an eggplant omelet with garlic rice. Try them while enjoying 90 minutes of bottomless mimosas for $30 or a bloody mary made with truffle-infused vodka. Book at table through Resy." - Samantha Nelson
