"Another brunch alert: Italian Embarcadero restaurant Cento Osteria has kicked off brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Order options include a brunch egg pizza — or add an egg to any pizza and call it a brunch pizza, that totally counts." - Caleb Pershan

"The Former Caputo space at Brannan and Embarcadero is almost ready to become Cento Osteria, with wood-fired pizza, grilled seafood and meat, and freshly made pastas from owner Donato Scotti. Scotti’s restaurants include Donato Enoteca and CRU in Redwood City and Donato & Co. in Berkeley." - Caleb Pershan

"Almost exactly two years after Italian restaurant Caputo closed at 100 Brannan Street, Cento Osteria will open in its place. Chef Donato Scotti and parter Gianluca Guglielmi plan to open a restaurant focusing on various regions of Italian cuisine, with pizza and pasta classics like amatriciana. Scotti says he’s still working on the concept, but he’s hoping to open a relaxed restaurant, and take advantage of the space’s large bar for aperitivi hours with small bites and wine. “Im going to step back a little, go back to the classics,” said Scotti. “I want to have nice cocktails, lots of wines by the glass. Everything is happening [in that neighborhood].”" - Ellen Fort

This new spot on the Embarcadero is excellent and I anticipate it becoming my usual haunt after this. Location is great with a nice but not over the top atmosphere inside and available outdoor seating. Service was great, almost verging on a little too attentive. Most importantly the food was delicious, it was well presented and rich without being overly heavy. The menu calls out the specific region each dish originates from and the waiters were very knowledgeable in making great recommendations. Seeing that they have a happy hour from 3:30-7pm is also a little dangerous, I'll definitely be back there soon.

Nice location with modern interior design. Tried the restaurant week menu. Pasta is the best. Salad looked good but there was a red hair hidden underneath it. Disgusting. Corn bread is just ok. Also ordered an ink pasta. Very plain. Got no much taste of the sauce or anything. Very disappointing.

Service is really slow... Took us a long time to get our main course. Took even longer to get our 2nd drink (the aperol spritz arrived after we were already halfway done eating), so the server said that it was on him. Atmosphere is OK, somewhat original.

This place opened last week and is already packed. Love the open space. Great wine list. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is excellent. Get the cacio e Pepe! And be sure to save room for dessert!

Went here for lunch on a week day! Patio seating is also available. Great for small or big groups. I ordered grilled squid, pasta and pizza. Everything was delicious and the hospitality was excellent!! I will definitely be coming back for dinner!

This is an italian-style restaurant in a great area (Embarcadero) in San Francisco. Considering the area, the freshness of the ingredients and the good cooking quality, prices are OK. I really enjoyed a fresh and well prepared sea-bass and, despite the dish comes with too much potatoes for my taste, the tenderness of the fish meat compensated it. The personnel is very cordial and the atmosphere relaxed and discrete without presumption. I definitely recommend it and I will return if the occasion arises.

November 18: Tried brunch and the risotto cake was tasty. Also sampled the vegetarian ravioli. Great pasta. Would come back again. August 18: Enjoyed a great dinner here on 8-17-18. Our server recommended the salmon belly mousse on polenta. That was delicious. Tried the margherita and the salametto 🍕. Both were excellent. Crust was nicely cooked with good crunch and texture. Shared the squid ink pasta and the pappardelle. Both pastas tasted house made and were exceptional. Can't wait to come back again!!

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was good with fresh local produce. Only tried 2 appetizers, but the pizza looked good. Would go back & would like to shoot at bar for happy hour!
