This sandwich may be my new hyper-fixation for the rest of the year. The focaccia is made in house daily and the ingredients are so fresh making this sandwich taste as good as it looks!! Also, Max behind the counter has become one of my dear friends. He puts so much passion into his work, and truly cares about each customer having the best experience. Thank you, Max !!

Google
Focaccia would be good except it's burnt. I tried the paisano and the club. I like the spiciness of the paisano, but overall it's just not worth the price.Maybe just an off day, id be down to try again another day to see if the pizza is any good.

Google
Great food and great vibes! Favs: Focaccia, Tuna Salad Sando, Pizza, Fish Fry, other random/weekend Specials. If you ever pick up Magpie Sweet & Eats mint and pepita pesto at the SLC Farmers Market, I’d highly recommend pairing it with the pizza. It adds a great herbal zest to an already fantastic pizza.

Google
I came in for a bite and a think, immediately confronted with the loudest version of staind’s “it’s been a while” I fell into a state of ambrosial oblivion. Who am I? What am I doing here? Where are my sandals? All these and more were answered with the hastily written word etched into my brown paper bag filled to the sac-line of overgrilled Spam and leek soup…Mongoloid Mike. Now my life has meaning and I can move forward without trepidation. This place is very kid friendly. If your kid wants to grow up as a disillusioned nihilist that is.

Google
holy sandwich... that breakfast sando was out of this world good. The bread, quality of presentation, flavor... all of it, outstanding. No seating inside, but get it to go and take it down the street to blue copper coffee to enjoy. Go out of your way to enjoy this sandwich. I highly recommend adding the mushrooms!

Google
I don’t say this lightly. This was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Got the Mortadella and added hot peppers. Perfection.

Rozlynn Lage

Google
Literally the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not normally an egg person, but these sandwiches are perfection. The bread is PHENOMENAL, and the sauce they put on it (no idea what it is) is delicious. Portions, texture, and flavor make it worth the price. The market itself is small and there’s not many options. The staff are all super kind and seem like they enjoy their job :)

Google
Super friendly spot, sandwich was out of this world. Tasted fresh, vibrant and joyous. The smell inside the market was incredible. Very nice selection of local goods - hot sauces, honey and breads. I didn't stay too long to take notice of anything else they had but this filled a hole and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best breakfast sandwich in salt lake this is the place! Prices might seem a little high but you get a very large sandwich on fresh made focaccia that is so perfectly salty. I recommend getting the sandwich with scrambled eggs and add bacon, they do the crispiest bacon. I love that they also sell local goods and you can see them making everything right there. I do just wish they put some tables outside to enjoy your sandwich there while it's hot but the space is pretty limited. Everyone is always nice and it's ready pretty quick.

Yelp
Breakfast sando was good, even the tea but the customer service from the guy at the cash register...trash. So rude, like we're inconveniencing him by just being there. My husband saw the drinks and went to pay and the guy didn't even acknowledge him, let alone speak. Just rang it up and stood there. They had flies flying around the market and their bread is sitting out in the open. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Parker G.

Yelp
I come here as often as I can for a mortadella fried egg breakfast sando on focaccia. My favorite breakfast sandwich ever! Had it several times and it's just simple and consistent. Market is an extra plus to pick up cool novelties and local beers. This place is worth the hype, just time it right so you don't wait in line forever!
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
This place slaps! The vibes are immaculate, it is crowded because it's that good. Even for it being super crowded the wait isn't long and there are a ton of cool things to look at. Support local, this place is awesome

Yelp
Literally the BEST breakfast sandwiches in town, period. If you haven't been here, you NEED to go. This little neighborhood market in SLC is worth the drive. Their focaccia bread is just so special, they make it in-house throughout the day, it's perfect! I always get the breakfast sandwich, but I love their BLT too. The BLT is only available when their heirloom tomatoes are in season, and holy moly, I seriously have never had such a magical BLT before. For reference, I usually don't even like sandwiches, never order or crave one anywhere. These sandwiches are the only one I'll actually crave! Their tomatoes paired with their focaccia create something truly incredible and worth raving about. As I'm writing this review I'm considering making the hour round trip drive up just to get their breakfast sandwich with ham and scrambled eggs. FYI, this is a little grab and go shop. There is one table outside, but you'll have to take your sack and eat in the car, walking around, or home most likely. They sell several goods too, all from local small businesses. Now, GO!
google avatar

Kiley M.

Yelp
The focaccia bread is great, but I wish there was a vegetarian option that actually had classic sandwich ingredients, since you can't build your own. There's never been a day in my life where I wished my sandwich had broccoli in it. The staff was nice though and the playlist they had going was a vibe. Also nice that you can get some local grocery goods as well.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
These are the best breakfast sandwiches in SLC! They are made on homemade focaccia that is so fresh and finished with sea salt. Would recommend getting there early on weekends because they sell out!

Kaylee D.

Yelp
Amazing! Unique meat option for a breakfast sandwich and I loved it, got a lil salty near the end and would maybe try another meat next time. My kids said it was the best pizza ever! Only wish they had somewhere to sit:)

Yelp
Best sandwich in SLC. 1v1 me bro if you disagree. If you think the bread is burnt, please Google the term "Maillard Reaction". In layman's terms because I know you're to lazy to open google: The char is a result of the high heat of the oven in which the sourdough is cooked at. Your oven at home cannot comprehend this heat. The stretching and folding of the dough, the multi day fermentation/proofing, combined with steam and the high heat oven, causes the amino acid/sugars combo (natural non added sugars as they don't put sugar in their dough) to brown or char extremely rapidly resulting in flavorful crunchy crust. All while maintaining the pillowy soft and airy inside with a fantastic structure. This is where the bread gets is sweet flavor from. So is the bread burn? No. It's the little sprinkling of flavor town on top brought to you courtesy of Guy Fieri and science. PS on service: He's not glaring at you Juno, That's just the way his face looks...

Kyle D.

Yelp
If you don't already know, get on it. S tier breakfast sandwiches and locally sourced eats. Come thru for a porchetta night (see their instagram for updates), or any of their other community events. You can tell when business owners not only care about the food they make, but how the whole experience makes patrons feel, and this is a restaurant that goes even beyond. They sell out every day of the weekend, so go early if you want to guarantee you don't go home sad and hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
So this place is located almost perfectly between Park City and SLC airport. I know that's not going to be useful info for most of you, but twice now I've picked this up to take on a flight and I've been very happy with the choice. The bread is, simply, amazing. Almost any topping would work on it. The fact that you can even get a good veg sandwich on it? Game changer.
google avatar

Maina D.

Yelp
This market is such a gem! The sandwiches are 10/10!! Their homemade focaccia is soft yet crunchy on the outside. The seasoning on their bread and meat is perfect! This is a great place to stop by! The workers were so nice as well!
google avatar

Isaac R.

Yelp
This place has some great sandwiches; they're so simple but so delicious. What makes the sandwich good is the focaccia bread, which is made in here. Be patient, as it can be busy, but the wait is worth it.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
So many good things to say about this cute market. I love that they have all of my favorite local treats and snacks here. We were able to get breakfast sandwiches, normal ice cream, and mamachari kombucha- which makes my local loving heart so happy. THE BREAKFAST SANDWICH! From the chives in the eggs, to the focaccia bread, to the aioli- so good!!

Frank P.

Yelp
I'm a neighbor so I love supporting my local markets but twice in the two times I have entered the store, I wave and say hello and get glared at like I'm not welcome - not one worker smiles or says anything I know it's Salt Lake City and the people can be frosty, but it makes me want to avoid the bad vibes I get when I'm there I'll stick to my 8th South 7-11 where they are friendly - good luck to 9th Central Market -the unfriendliness just is a turnoff to me
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
I like their normal sandos but their breakfast ones knock it out of the park! I love getting the spam (or sausage if they have it) sandwich with scrambled eggs. The sandwich is a good size so it's very filling. Their focaccia bread when fresh is absolutely divine and goes so well with the spread they use.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich ever!! The vegetarian one comes with grilled mushrooms that are very flavorful! The bread is the best part - so fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside! The sauce they use on the sandwiches is also so good! My friends got the mortadella and said it was delicious too! Inside the store is super cute, they have a lot of fun drinks to choose from. It's also cool that you can see them making your sandwich behind the counter!
google avatar

Sofia Q.

Yelp
Best sandwich and one of the best things I've ever eaten! Great value and so fresh and delicious. Customer service was a little blunt but I think that's just their vibe.

Faith S.

Yelp
WOW THEIR SANDWHICHES ARE AMAZING! Best veggie sando of my life! I really loved the service Its a beautiful and forward environment but can be hard to find certain things like Menus or silverware
google avatar

Samantha J.

Yelp
Fun market just outside of Downtown with delicious homemade focaccia sandwiches. Just down the street from a coffee shop, with proximity to outdoor seating this is a fun stop for breakfast or lunch. While here don't forget to pick up some local produce or international goodies, we especially enjoyed the variety of bottled root beers, cream soda, and ginger ales.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
You can do no wrong here. Everything is rockstar-delicious. Great crew, fun easter eggs around the shop. Classic hiphop tracks while you wait for one of the best sandwiches in the valley.
google avatar

Alec T.

Yelp
I mean don't get me wrong, the sandwiches here are phenomenal. Seriously, some of the best I've had, but G-D IT!!! NO ONE WANTS TO KNOW HOW THE SAUSAGE IS MADE!!! Why would you leave that out where children can see that? Do you know where the pointy end of that thing goes? Neighborhood is going downhill and the music is too loud. I need to type the word ambiance to satisfy the yelp robot monitors.
google avatar

Vida A.

Yelp
This review is only for the vegetarian sandwich that I got from a friend. I've never been inside the store to experience service so I will pass on all that. All I can say is my sandwich was very greasy. I was told they put olive oil all over it but in knowing that I would have passed. Don't get me wrong the sandwich was good but it could have been better without all the oil. Now I know. Maybe I will try again.
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
By far the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had in a restaurant! The bread is just incredible. We also tried the potato salad, which was refreshingly different, but nothing comes close to the sandwich. Only thing I wish is that this location had indoor seating of some kind. There is only one table outside the restaurant and nothing inside

LeeAnne T.

Yelp
I've been hearing about the breakfast sandwiches here for a while, and finally had the chance to try one today. Ohhh wow - this thing lived up to the hype. The foccasia is SO good. If you like a bready, carby sandwich, this is the spot for you. Everyone working there seems cool and friendly as well - I wish we had this market in my neighborhood, but I love everything about what's happening on 9th these days.
google avatar

Rose H.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwiches here are the best in Utah. I always go for the mortadella and scrambled eggs in the one I share with my boyfriend. We love the large portions because we split the sandwich and then I also get something unique and different to split, like their daily special meat pies. Honestly, I've never had anything from here that I don't love. What's really special is the focaccia bread that they use in the sandwiches and bake in-house. The smell inside the market is heavenly because of the bread and the sandwiches. If I could, I would come eat breakfast here every day. The environment is really hip and the service is nice. It's definitely a spot with a younger crowd, including the employees, and I dig it. They carry a lot of local, unique items that are hard to find in other grocery stores and markets, but would be most similar to Caputo's. If there's one reason to come here, come for the epic breakfast sandwiches!!

Yonatan H.

Yelp
Great breakfast sandwich, good people, and even better vibe. Quick and easy. Can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with Central 9th Market. I go their for their famous Breakfast Sando. I get my sando with scrambled eggs and bacon on focaccia. It's a big sandwich and well worth the price. Depending on your appetite, it could feed two if you're a light eater Service is quick and straight to the point. Their mantra is "F*ck around and find out" and I love that kind of customer service. Nothing is worse than a disrespectful customer. Ambiance here is loud haha. They love their music here! Try the Breakfast Sando or really anything else from their menu! You can't go wrong.
google avatar

Garrett J.

Yelp
The sandwiches large and heavy which is good, though they are lacking in taste. Overrated by 66%. They have good individual ingredients, but odd ingredient mixtures which don't have depth of flavor. What they lack in taste, they make up for by giving you way more than you would want. Large portions, easily forgettable, you're better off going somewhere else if you're looking for a memorable sandwich.
google avatar

Libby K.

Yelp
Ok the breakfast sandwich is everrrything! I got over easy egg with sausage (which is made in house). It seemed simple, not loaded up with a lot but the focaccia is really the star of the show here. The flavor, the texture, chewy and delicious- maybe some sourdough flavor? Not sure but it is 10/10! I can't think of a better breakfast sando in SLC!
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Oooh this place is trendy and hipster. They are playing loud cool music rap hip hop and it's on loud. Service is pristine. They tell you what's good cause who would know best how to give recommendations but the employees themselves. Everything is so fresh and delicious and feels so part of the community. This place is in a cool remodeled newer developed part of town. No indoor seating. Only one small picnic table outside. I will be back.
google avatar

Lilly K.

Yelp
Okay seriously drop whatever breakfast plans you think you have and head here instead! Their freshly baked focaccia sandos are insane! So toasty, fluffy and warm. The egg and cheese is my favorite, flavorful and filling without being overpowering. Located inside is also a small deli with other small businesses being sold. They blast music and all the workers seem to genuinely enjoy working together. I love getting the hibiscus iced tea & cosmic brownie (tastes more like cosmic cake i must say). There isnt a lot of seating around, but there is plenty of parking. There is a picnic table in the front and some concrete areas you can sit on as well. Ive already been back since my initial visit and cant wait till go again!

Yelp
I'm on the hunt for my favorite breakfast sandwich in Salt Lake City, and Central 9th Market has been on my list to check out forever. The space itself is different than I had pictured, it's a very small grocery store that prioritizes selling local products and supporting small local businesses. I saw some of my favorites there - Raw Eddy's and Mamachari Kombucha, and many many other local favorites. It's not a typical grocery store - it has very limited items - they have hot sauces, bitters, tinned fish, etc. They also had some limited fresh produce as well - greens, eggplant, squash, etc. The menu here is very straightforward and simple - pick the type of eggs you want and pick your protein (ham, bacon, veggies, etc.). All sandwiches are served on the house made focaccia bread and it's to die for. Truly some of the best bread I've ever had - so fresh, moist, and delicious. I got their veggies as my protein, and it's served with a medley of mushrooms, onions, and I don't even know what else - maybe peppers? They're marinated in a delicious oily/peppery sauce with a tiny kick to it. It's a messy sandwich, so grab lots of napkins! There was so much flavor in this sandwich, it was delicious. It was a messy one though! It came with cheese and an aioli of some sort as well. So so yummy, I can't get over the bread!!! There's no seating inside, but there is one picnic table outside that we lucked out and claimed. I'm excited to see this area thriving and so many new places popping up.

Yelp
This cute little market is open in the new revitalized 9th south west of state neighborhood. The staff is super friendly. Everything was fresh. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a Salami Sandwich. Pizza was hot, cheesy and perfectly cooked in the wood fired oven. That sandwich though... damn top notch. The best focaccia bread ever. Salty meat and cheese, delish spread. It was huge, like shareable huge. We also got 2 cookies, I think chocolate chunk, pecan sea salt. Those were delectable, like I will for sure be coming back. The market also has a wide assortment of hot sauces and some nice fresh produce. There isn't really much seating but when it's warm that isn't an issue.
google avatar

Hoa T.

Yelp
This small little is in the heart of the revitalized area of 900 S. We tried their cheese pizza, the breakfast sando with fried eggs and veg, and the paisano sandwich. The pizza was okay, nothing special. All the sandwiches here are on their focaccia bread. If you like focaccia, this is the place for you. Me, I think that's a little too much bread. The bread is really good. It's just that the ratio between bread and meat is way off. I really like their spread which included some peppers to give the sandwich a kick. Highly recommend if you love focaccia.
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
Much has been said about their breakfast sandwiches, and I'm a huge fan as well (maple sausage is my go to meat in there). I'm actually here to write about their tuna sandwich on focaccia. This is really really good tuna and the right amount of pickley flavor and CHIPS. I've been putting lays potato chips in my cold cut sandwiches for years, so this 100% made sense to me. The service is stoic, no better way to put it. Don't expect sticky sweet small talk, and I personally like this approach better. Maybe my east coast years are occasionally showing. You should also expect loud hip hop or rap music. I mean really loud. You get good at hand gestures and facial expressions in here. I wouldn't change this place for the world. It's got its own unique vibe, like the anti-Zuppas.
google avatar

Shaina C.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwich is delish. I chose fried egg and bacon. The focaccia is perfect!! Very filling. This pic shows less than half the sandwich!!
google avatar

Austin S.

Yelp
I've been seeing my therapist because I've had one too many erotic dreams about the Mortadella Breakfast Sandwich and don't know how to feel about having such strong feelings for a food item. Central 9th is THE place to go in Salt Lake. You can't go wrong with Staff Meal. Love the pop ups they do. Everyone that works there is so nice and fun. Love all the local products, drinks, and desserts.
google avatar

Traci E.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars to this establishment I would. I ordered the Paisano sandwich., and it was served to me on completely burnt focaccia. I took the sandwich back only to find that all of their bread was burnt to a crisp, and the staff didn't care. They were serving this nasty bread to other customers. There's isn't anywhere to eat at the establishment, so everyone take their food to go, and unfortunately, most people won't know what they've been served until they get home and open their sandwich. If this place can't figure out how to cook their own bread, then they need to order it from somewhere else because this is disgusting. It's even worse that they thought it was OK to serve to someone. Major Fail!

Brianne D.

Yelp
Super good breakfast and a nice local market. Definitely a place that we visit regularly!
google avatar

Bethany W.

Yelp
Well this review is PURELY for the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheese, and mortadella cause that's the only thing I've had here (like 4+ times). In summary, it is greater than any breakfast sandwich you could imagine. The foccacia just belongs in sandwich form and the mortadella.....who knew luncheon meat could be so good. Come here, be filled, start the day off right.

Abbigale Y.

Yelp
Yummmm! Worth the drive :) I got the Mortadella breakfast sandwich and it was chefs kiss! I also love that they have a market side with fresh produce and goods from locals.
google avatar

Gina T.

Yelp
First off, the employees were all very friendly, I love the vibe here. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches, both with scrambled eggs. One, I tried their specialty ham (modicello?) and the other I did bacon. They come on the brick oven fired focaccia with cheese and a sauce. They are MONSTROUS and sooo good. Highly recommend. That focaccia really puts it over the top, it's amazing. Can't wait to go try some other goods here.

Monique S.

Yelp
Don't plan on eating here, there is no where to sit. Strictly a to-go place. But it is the breakfast sandwich of all breakfast sandwiches. I lost my mind over it and haven't stopped recommending it to all my friends and colleagues flying through SLC.
google avatar

Morgan D.

Yelp
The best focaccia bread I've had in my life. A quaint market with high end goods. Great service. Wish they were in VA!
google avatar

K S.

Yelp
Back again... I have a problem, but I'm not mad about it. Still my favorite sandwich ever!

C K.

Yelp
Good food, awful people working here. Will treat you like garbage. Not going to return. Maybe it's just me, but if I buying a $16 sandwich, I'd like to be treated as a valued customer, not a nuisance interrupting your important day. I feel bad for the owner, they prob have no idea.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Go 2 spot for great egg sandwich. After you unwrap this masterpiece for a first bite you will understand .LEGIT.
google avatar

Joycelyn C.

Yelp
Last summer, I found this market as I was on the hunt for donuts, and I came across this fabulous local grocery store in SLC. I had just moved from the area and was surprised that I had missed it for the many years I lived close by. But I found a great market I'll be coming back to visit. I did get my donuts (unique flavors)! I also found veggies, a variety of mushrooms you wouldn't ever find in the big grocery stores, breads, and other products that I picked up to try.
