Chả Cá Lã Vọng

A long-established Vietnamese restaurant known for its Hanoi specialties. The chả cá is delicious and definitely worth trying. The original restaurant has a long history in Hanoi, and now there are three branches in Saigon. Our family will definitely come back. The place is clean, air-conditioned, and the service is good.

love that cha ca is available in hcmc! service was a tad slow but the food is otherwise great. i’m usually not a fan of so much greens but the veg here was so fresh and went so well with the rice noodles. so good that 2 of us had 3 portions.

Totally disappointed. Talking from the perspective of someone who knows how it should taste. 1 portion gives you like 3-4 pcs of fish, which taste nothing like it should, dry, poor seasoned and cut into small pieces. Not even sure if it was the crystal eye catfish! The price is just ridiculously high and not justified for the value. We were so surprised when they served the food. Overall, should not consider the place for this particular dish if you wanna try authentic one look somewhere else, I know I will.

Love Cha Ca, and this place is a good embassador of this dish. Not easy to find a good place in HCMC Recomended at a reasonable price. It gets busy Friday and weekends Only minor point: the place has a considerable echo, and makes the place noisy

We didn’t know they only served one dish in this restaurant but we’re glad we went as it was highly recommended by friends. Cat fish fillets marinated in turmeric and cooked on a hot plate with spring onions and dill. Add with rice noodles, shrimp paste, toasted nuts and fish sauce, it’s one of the best!

Very tasty food, lovely fish, lots of fresh herbs! The shrimp paste mixed with lime juice was very strong tasting, odd but strangely more-ish. Cooks at your table, a fun experience.

The highlight is the catfish and the most expensive item judging from the little quantity of fish bits. We only requested for 2 servings. You can ask for more vegetables top-up but we did not. The rice crackers cost 5k for each piece. If you are new to this dish, the waiter/waitress will teach you how to prepare the sauce and enjoy the dish.

I cisit this restaurant every time I'm in HCM because I love the food, previously I ignored the bad service but honestly today was shocking. Ordered items multiple times before the service staff responded. As a previous F&B owner this to me is disrespectful to customers. The owner needs to have a chat with their staff as I will find cha ca somewhere else.
