"Unique in France, Chakaiseki Akiyoshi is the first restaurant devoted to the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Cha-kaiseki actually refers to the meal that is served with this beverage, while Yuichiro Akiyoshi is the chef’s name. Tucked away behind a suitably low-profile wooden façade, the omakase might include amberjack with ponzu jelly, tempura with grey shrimp bouillon, seabream marinated in a mix of sake, mirin and soy sauce and grilled over charcoal, sushi of mackerel, grilled salmon rice, miso soup with artichoke. I’ve always had great experience with gourmet Japanese restaurants in Paris but the Chakaiseki Akiyoshi is exceptional among the traditional ones. I’d say the style here is more expressive and the food is prepared with more detail and precision and evidently comes from the best suppliers. The restaurant has a full yakitori grill. We’ve enjoyed superb monkfish, abalone, sea bream, mackerel and vegetables grown by a Japanese farmer in France. The mackerel was charred by contact with hot charcoal right in front of us and the sea bream came with crispy fried scales still on. Loved it. I especially enjoyed eating from the artistic and sometimes historical tableware that just added to the joyful experience. Service was lovely, warm and always attentive. The chef changes the menu frequently to reflect fresh ingredients. The wine list has a very good sake and wine selection with some real gems that are very rare to find anywhere. I very much hope to dine here again, soon.

If I could, I would go back every single day. The entire experience lasts over two hours, and every moment is a true pleasure. It’s not just a meal it’s a discovery of flavors, textures, and balance. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The team is simply wonderful. Warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, they make you feel completely at ease while guiding you through the experience. You can feel that everything has been thought through every gesture, every plate, every word. If you're looking for the ultimate Japanese dining experience in Paris, look no further. This is it. Pure joy from start to finish. Thank you for such an incredible experience I’ll be dreaming about it until I return.

I had a superb lunch at this restaurant. Every dish was absolutely succulent, every bite was a surprise. The staff was very helpful and surrounded us with their care. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to learn more about Japanese foods and traditions.

Excellent Kaiseki restaurant. We enjoyed the superb Omakase 'Ten' menu at the counter. It was truly magnificent, both in taste and quality. The sake and wine were also excellent. The service was very polite, always attentive and courteous. Highly recommended.

Probably my favorite meal of my life. So relaxing, everything beautiful and healthy and delicious. If you aren’t familiar with the style of restaurant, be aware it’s traditional and formal (but not pretentious!) and you’ll be speaking very quietly and stopping to silently watch what the chef is doing. Everyone is greeted on the sidewalk outside and it’s essential to be on time.

Thank you for reaching out. I wanted to clarify my experience during the set menu. I was seated at a corner table, which unfortunately limited my view of the chef’s preparation. Since the cooking was mainly done in front of a specific group, other guests, including myself, couldn’t enjoy that part of the experience, even though it is a core element of the menu. Although some dishes were prepared in front of me, I was still among the last to be served, which affected the overall flow of the meal. It would also be great to consider adding a bit more variety within the sushi or sashimi selection. For a set menu at this price point, offering a slightly broader range would make the experience feel more balanced and worth it. I’m sharing this so future guests can enjoy a more consistent and inclusive experience.

Wonderful experience, all the dishes were full of depths, flavours, very nuanced and light. I was only a bit disappointed by the sweet potato tempura that I found on a different level than the rest. I had the accompanying sakes, wines and teas and that was perfect.

Had a really lovely solo lunch here! Service was warm and kind, and the food was light yet nuanced and delicious. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I also appreciated all of the amazing tea offerings! Overall, this was definitely a highlight of my trip to Paris and I will happily return in the future.
